I was looking forward to stopping on for days before my visit. With the great reviews and such i was hopeful. This morning I woke up early and headed over with my son to pick up some drinks before our road trip home. The place was busy for a Tuesday and again I was hopeful. The woman at the counter seemed a bit grumpy and I overwhelmed. I was pleased to see cold brew and asked if the offered hwc. To which the replay was we're out. Cool, no biggie. She advised they half half and half so I asked for a splash and some vanilla. They don't offer blended drinks and my son's not a fan of coffee so he chose hot chocolate. I also ordered a raspberry lemon muffin. There were no open tables so we waited nearby. Once our drinks were ready the girl pointed and said cream is over there. My lid was laid on the counter. Ok sweet I guess. I poured a little cream and off we went. My sons got chocolate was more whip cream than drink, but he said it was good. My muffin was my favorite part. It was large, sweet but not so very. Baked well. My cold brew while no acidity which is awesome the vanilla was nearly nonexistent. I poured the half and half myself so I obviously controlled that part. I wish I lived closer to try again, but not sure when I'll be back in the area. Unfortunately I left bummed and unwelcome. The vibe itself is nice outside. Beautiful patio and walkable space nearby. The inside is a bit small, but does offer some seating. read more

Truly enjoy this coffee shop! I actually love their food, especially their avocado toast. I don't know what that herb oil they drizzle over it is but it just makes it so much tastier! My mom loves their steel oats so if that's your style she definitely raves about it. Their drinks are all good so far. I like to buy a bag of their coffee beans because it's that good. The only downside is that I wish they had more room inside their coffee shop especially when it's 90+ outside. Otherwise their outdoor seating is great! read more

Really wanted to love this place... but sadly, I won't be coming back. The food is honestly great -- compliments to the people in the kitchen who clearly know what they're doing. But the customer service? Disappointing. I always tip 20%, hoping it adds a little joy or appreciation, but it's never acknowledged. And paying $5 for a single slice of toast just adds to the sting when the service feels cold. Maybe if they played some music, the vibe -- and the staff -- would feel more welcoming. Ren Coffeehouse is a cornerstone of the Tucson community and for good reason! Whenever I come here, the line is out the door sometimes for multiple hours, it really is that good! They offer an extensive menu of great coffee, teas, smoothies, toasts, breakfast sandos, and pastries - there is something for everyone! I love coming here and getting work done. Came here 2 mornings in a row around 6:30/7:00 AM. The staff is phenomenal, the people who frequent this establishment are so kind, and the coffee is so great. They also have tons of different breakfast and lunch options. Yesterday we tried the sugar free vanilla late and the bagel with bacon/egg/cheese. The coffee was so scrumptious and the bagel was a hit with my toddler. Today I had the cortado, avo toast, and fruit bowl. Once again, did not disappoint. we will absolutely be back! read more

I love this place. It's been a while but I recently went in and wasn't in the mood for coffee and saw they had a lavender lemonade but you can add matcha. I was surprised to see that the barista was actually using a wooden whisk to make it and it was for sure ceremonial grade matcha. I can tell the difference. But it was poured over the top of the purple lemonade and it was so gorgeous for those few seconds until it settled. But overall the lavender wasn't over powering or soapy. It all was blended well and I will be back for more!! This place is a bit small but does have a patio. I use to come here and study in college. Can get crowded in the mornings because of the loop for cycling and yoga. read more

Worst avacado toast I ever had. How do you screw up an avacado toast? Ren figured a way. They put arugula, one slice of tomato and about 1/4 of a sliced avacado on top of a slice of hard bread. OMG! Can I give this place 20 stars? We were in Tucson for a wedding and this place was recommended as a fave by the bride and groom. Boy were they spot on. We didn't have a lot of free time to try other places. So this was a nice treat. We stopped here on a Saturday morning while going to the artisans market. Which in itself is wonderful. The line to get to RENs was out the door. But the line moved pretty quickly. Once we ordered and got our coffee and food, we knew why. First of all their prices are extremely reasonable. Secondly, the drinks and food were excellent. I had an iced coffee plus ordered a couple of their homemade energy bars, which were delicious. my friend had a latte and a very good muffin loaded with nuts and other goodies. We liked this place so much that on the way to the airport we stopped there to grab sandwiches. We both ended up ordering turkey Paninis. They were huge and came with greens or chips. We could've easily split one. It was turkey, spinach cheese, and a yummy sauce. If Rens was local to Chicago burbs, I'd be there daily! I absolutely love this coffee house! The food and drinks are so yummy. For this review specifically, I wanted to explore their matcha for my matcha muchacha series. They have a blueberry matcha that was really tasty, and I paired it with their gf raspberry muffin. The cortados were bitter and the latte tasted just like hot milk; neither of us finished our coffees and we ended up throwing them away as we left.
