First of all, I was in need of a pedicure since it had been over 6 months since due to foot surgery and couldn't get one. I went in for a simple and basic pedicure with a French tip polish design. Now, I asked how much the pedicures were and the girl said "I show you, come sit." I did and explained due to my foot scars and still healing I do not want any salt/sugar scrub, no hot rocks, no heat other than just the basic washing the cuticle and trimming my nails. I asked for a specific color, glittered Rose Gold, which she replied "we don't have that color only gold or pink glitter". I asked her for samples of the colors which they had just put away when I sat down. And she comes out with 6 glitters and I find the rose gold one. She begins to paint my nails with clear shellac first then gets the glitter rose gold and starts to paint my toes. I stopped her and reminded her i asks did a French tip? She said "oh French tip? Okay I understand now, so she has to remove the glitter from my big toe and second toe to clean it up. She then did the French tip on my toes. I couldn't see that well as the lightening is not bright enough so I said it was fine once she was done. I get rung up and I hear the pedicure was $32... so I am wondering how I paid $57 plus a tip? It isn't itemized on the receipt so I'm not sure what the actually charges were. I mean I saw that a deluxe pedi was like $45 but that has everything with wax on the feet, hot towel, massage, color and toes painted. I gave it a two because it was nice and not busy. The girl was nice but the fact that she didn't show me any packages or prices is upsetting. I guess I should have insisted on knowing them first instead of asking a few times and being told "I will tell you come sit" and never did. When I got home and I saw my toes, she left a lot of glitter on my big toe and second toe, the ones she had to remove the polish from because she messed up. Now that I can see them better, it was a fast l, I'm suppose to leave already, sloppy job. Oh well I'm glad I can hide them with shoes read more

Cathy at renaissance was wonderful. She did a fantastic job on getting my nails done and had great attention to detail. She was very patient while my fidgeting almost three year old sat in my lap. I have been to this place well over 15 times. Everytime left happy. I brought my grandmother and cousin in today and will NEVER be back. I went in for a full set today and I left before my tech was even done painting my nails. I had Adam and he is the rudest person I have ever encountered. I have been getting my nails done for over 10 years and in several states and have NEVER been treated so poorly. I was talking with my cousin as she was getting her nails done beside me and he was so verbally aggressive from the start. After multiple condescending remarks to me he then cut my cuticle and while I felt it I just continued talking with my cousin as if it was no big deal and he decided instead of apologizing or asking if I was okay, that he was going to blame me. He told me literally over ten times that it was my fault and tried educating me on how a finger bleeds like I'm an idiot. I told him ten times it was fine and not a big deal but he continued to make it one all while it was his fault from the beginning. I explained if it was my fault why wasn't I bleeding before I got here ? He told me I need to take better care of my nails. Then when I told him we are done here as he continued to argue with me he took me to the register with only ONE nail painted. I paid because that's just the person I am but after I didn't tip him I asked for the manager he said sure then wouldn't even tell me who was the manager. Once I finally got her he wanted to explain what happened to her in another language. As I understood what he was saying I interrupted and said no that's not the problem at all. The entire time I tried telling the manager what actually happened he kept yelling in my face talking over me making a scene in front of EVERYONE at the salon. I was mortified and can not believe what poor customer service I received. As he kept talking over me and aggressive in my face I shouted I am done speaking with you leave. Once I finally got to talk to the manager alone with out that disrespectful asshole, she was very apologetic and offered me a gift certificate. While yes a nice gesture I am mad I did not get my money back for a incomplete manicure. I don't want a gift certificate to a place I will never be back to. I come here and pay a lot of money to relax and have a good experience, not to get in a fight with a grown man who started something from nothing. It was insane. I spent hours trying to process what had just happened. Adam needs fired and should never be in a customer service industry. Absolutely appalling. Fortunately for me there are six other salons within walking distance that probably understand the importance of customer service as this place does NOT. DO NOT GO HERE. I've only been here twice. Once for a pedicure and once for a mani pedi. One visit for a fancy birthday pedi. Both visits for plain polish. The first time I went for my fancy pedi was ok. It came with a scrub and parafin wax and a couple other things. The girl was super nice and we talked a lot. But two days later the polish was already chipping off. Most recently I went in for a plain mani and pedi. I brought my own polish for my toes this time. I had originally wanted gel polish on my nails but decided against it after not finding a color I liked. I just chose no color and to get my nails cleaned and filed. I feel like not a lot of attention was paid to my toes and fingers. The polish on my toes looks messy and uneven. And my finger nails are all different shapes and uneven lengths. It doesn't look like anything was done except a clear coat of polish, which also looks poorly done. The individual who did my nails was super nice. I feel like all of them are super nice. Always smiling and trying to make good conversation with you. They are total angels, because I don't know anyone personally that would want to do nails and rub feet all day long. Maybe I just haven't had good luck when I've come. Because many people seem very happy and they have the best reviews in town. I just haven't been super pleased with my results. read more

Other places I've asked and they always were agitated when I asked them to clean them. I have been to Renaissance before but it's been years. I wasn't happy with the technicians. I've been here 3 times. The first time I had a lady and she did terrible, fanned out my nails and made them extra thick. She didn't even talk to me. The second time I came I got paired with Chris. He is a hoot yall! Absolutely hilarious. He's young at heart and does an amazing job with your nails! He'll remember you from a previous time! The third time I had DK, I loved him also! I tend to make a couple to several trips to local spots before I do my reviews. This Place was no exception. It had been a couple years since my last pedicure the first time I came here. The last place I'd been was at the Forum, and it had been several years since my last pedicure before I'd been there. Needless to say I was overdue. I'm very particular about manis and pedis because I used to go to this local place in Ohio for years and received consistently amazing service. I was there every 2 weeks like clockwork for a full workup, brows included. I haven't found a replacement for my favorite spot in the almost 11 years I've moved from Ohio and I've been in multiple countries and states... that is, until now. I'm a working mom who doesn't often treat herself. I get my hair done 2-3 times a year. In the last few years I've gotten a mani or pedi maybe once in the last 3 years. That was until I found this place. The first visit was a little overwhelming. I made an appointment. I walked in, gave them my name and was told to pick a polish. I did that, then sat. No one came to check on or get me so I kept waiting. Another woman came in about 7 minutes after me, grabbed her polish and walked right up to the pedi station where someone helped her. So, I followed suit and was immediately helped. It was a really good pedicure experience. Good enough that about 4 months later I was back. I got my polish and headed to the desk to see which side they wanted me and was immediately directed to an awaiting tech. Another very relaxing pedicure. A few months later I was back. I had just picked my polish when a man came to direct me to my chair. He was very nice and his hands were magic. I left that pedicure having felt like I'd been massaged by a Greek god. If you go here, you will at least end up with a really good pedicure. Haven't done the mani yet, sorry. If you ask for Benson, your experience will be transformative. 4 stars because there i did have to take the initiative the first few times to get seated. Enjoy! read more

I paid for a no chip manicure which lasted only two days before the whole polish started peeling off. I called the salon and asked for a a refund, since I live in Chicago and was leaving town. They would not refund me, so I asked for a credit that my daughter could use since she lives here. They absolutely would not give me a credit or a refund. Very unorganized place. I had been here so long ago that I couldn't remember why I didn't like it, so I tried it again since my normal place had already closed for the evening. I remember now. First, I was sat down and had my hands put in a bowl of acetone and I was told to rub my previous dip off (I could've done that at home by myself). I sat in the acetone for 20 mins while my nail lady worked on someone else. Then she came back and filed my left hand nails so short. I didn't ask for that; I just asked for the shape to be touched up. At that point it was too late to go back. Right before she moved to my right hand I told her I had a bad cut on my finger and to be careful of it. Right after this she left me again and went to work on someone else. Then this guy sits down and starts filing my right hand, hits my cut and it hurt!! I should've warned him but I forgot to say it again. He didn't file my right hand the same length so I had to ask and he didn't understand why I wanted to file them down. I didn't want my nails to be different lengths. He gets one dipping layer done and the girl comes back. She continues the dipping and goes to file AND FORGETS ABOUT MY CUT and hits it with the file. Hurt very bad. Finally done and the sloppiness is shown in the pics(morning after) . Left over powder and base coating liquid dried on my skin not to mention my cuticles are so dry from sitting in acetone for so long. I've heard their pedicures are amazing, so maybe i'll try that out and give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

I went here for a pedicure on vacation this week. Service was Quick and he did a good job but I really wish they would use some pressure for the massage portion and not a light rub. I had some concerns from previous spa treatments I've had elsewhere that hurt me, but he took great care when doing my feet. He made me feel special. . When I decided to comeback I assumed I'd have another positive experience. WRONG. My nails looked awful. The whole experience was rushed. The dip I received was patchy and the shape was hideous. My nail techs name was Brian and he did not even take 5 seconds to look at the picture I showed him of my desired nails. He ended up using the wrong colors and tried to tell me it was my fault. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm absolutely disgusted with the poor customer service I experience I received here. Got a pedicure and during the pedicure I was asked what color I would like, I showed my tech and she gave me an attitude because she didn't like the color I picked and threw the nail samples at me. She then proceeded to make rude comments. She was VERY pushy, I asked for a simple polish, she wanted to do design and I told her no too many times until when we got to my nails I finally just told her do what you want to do because I was tired of her pestering me. This has to be the WORST nail salon I have been to. First the lady that was doing my nails changed the price from $50 to $55 when I told her from the beginning I wanted acrylic dip powder manicure. Second, it took her an hour to file down my nails from how I previously had them. She didn't know what she was doing with the dip powder. The pictures I am posting are the finished result. Mind you I asked for a coffin shape but, the nails turned out misshaped , some parts don't even cover my nail. I will definitely not be returning. read more

I had Billy do my full set gel and gel pedi and let me just say HE IS AWESOME!!!!! He took his time and did an amazing job on my nails(color not so) the foot massage I received w my pedi was the best I've had to date(I get these toes done ATLEAST twice a month) Although here is where my problem lies...I went Olin on Thursday April 5 and I ALWAYS get white nails and toes. When I left everything was fine BUT come Friday night, that's the very next day i could notice my nail color was distorted and weird looking. It's like the white is literally fading. I paid $125(including tip) which is pretty expensive JUST for a full set and pedi. So today Monday my nails are even WORSE(see pics) so I decided to call the salon to speak w a manager. The young man I spoke to informed me there is hardly ever a manager there "they don't work here they just stop by sometimes " we're actually his exact words. Then he goes on to tell me just to call back so of course I inquire about what's the best time to call back and he says I don't know just call back maybe after 1,2,3 maybe 5WHAT!!! I love an hour and twenty minutes from this salon so now if I get no answer from this mysterious never there manager I am going to have to make an extra trip out of my wayfor them to fix the problem.
