I tried Renato's for the first time tonight, and when I called they did not tell me about the delivery charge (and it's not on their website). When the food arrived the bill was too high. Best grandma's pie in town. Strange experience though. I called ahead once to order to go and when I showed up they had given my order to the wrong person. Instead of apologizing they gave me a pie on the house that I didn't want. I would have happily waited to get the pie I originally ordered and wanted. It was such a weird experience. They pretty much shoved it in my face and wouldn't take no for an answer. I was like this is not what I want though lol and they were like but it's free and you'll love it. I didn't love it. I only love their grandma's pie. I will forever go back for it but with the attitude that I have no idea what I'm going to get. It's a crap shoot. Renatos is the best pizza in ridgewood! Ive also tried places in glen rock, hawthorne, hohokus, midland park (etc), but none as good as rents. they have the best grandma slices and AMAZING italian heroes!!! their wings are very underrated as well. Let me start off by saying that this place has the worst service I have ever seen in my life. All of these reviews are probably from the owners or friends of the owners. I'm a true New Yorker who knows his pizza and this place was just garbage. I walked in with my girlfriend , sat down with 3 other people in the restaurant , then waited 30 minutes just to order a grilled chicken salad and pizza. The salad took another 30 min to make and appeared as if the chicken had be off the grill for hours. I was so fed up, I paid for salad an left without pizza. The waitress didn't even ask us if we wanted drinks even though it's 90 degrees outside. What a joke. No tip, and if I could give zero stars I would. read more

Renatos pizza is very consistent. Same guys been there for years. The place has a very good feel to it. My favorite is a nice white slice, but a regular slice has all the elements I was looking for. Probably the best pizza in ridgewood right now. read more

Just had an plain large pizza for dinner me and my wife nothing wrong with the pizza but nothing to amazing either. It was an average pie. I will say that i have had the grandmas pie here before and its good . Cant compare this place to Brooklyn's from town 2 totally different leagues read more

My go-to joint for grandma slices. Have been disappointed everywhere else because good old Renato's sets the bar so high.

I normally eat here at least once a week and have always had a great experience. The staff is always friendly. Sometimes the individual slices seem better because they are a little more cooked but that is my personal preference. Ordered a pizza this evening. Said the wait would be 40 minutes. Turned into an hour an twenty minutes. When the pizza was delivered the box was wet from the rain and it was ice cold. I called to complain and all I got was a "sorry"! Will not order from them again. read more

There are only 2 servers that are nice (1 female, 1 younger male). everyone else is so rude. an older male (whom I believe is the owner) has not only once, but twice have me an attitude for wanting to pay by credit. I see your $10 minimum, which I get, but you really don't have to get annoyed by a customer who only had a credit card on them. yes, I saw your atm on the way in, no I'm not taking cash out. it would cost more than a slice of pizza to do that. this has happened twice! I used to go there out of convenience because you're right next to the really amazing tea shop, but after a number of really unpleasant encounters that make me uncomfortable, I will not go there anymore. your pizza is just not that good, and you don't offer anything buffalo, and no turkey for the sandwiches. I would recommend going to labellas pizza for pizza or one of their amazing sandwiches, or to wilkes deli down the road. I'm giving Renato's five stars because they are the best of what you should be expecting when going to a pizzeria. It's a fast paced and busy pizzeria. (If your'e looking for "Restaurant" then I'd give it a 2-3 for decor and service. Don't expect unbelievable service waiting on your every need. Reasonably priced, fairly quick. Only disappointment I ever had was the Calzone which took forever. Maybe because it was made from scratch. Parking is available but tough. Delivery is quick and not cold but not hot. read more
