Really solid coffee (stumptown from Portland) and good bagels. Liked the space a lot and there were a bunch of people working so it was fast. Two things annoyed me: they open at 9 on Sat - seems late. We happened to get there right at 9 and still had to wait for them to open. The other thing was I ordered a bagel and he said cream cheese? And I said yes. I found out later they have all kinds of fancy "schmears" like artichoke or tofu and I just got plain. I finally got a chance to check this place out on a weekday evening. We called ahead to see if they had space for our group of 10 and the table was ready when we got there. It wasn't really busy but we did get there around 6:30 so a little early for dinner. The service was super nice and we were greeted by a few friendly staff members. They were very accommodating to the three kids in our group with giving cups with tops and crayons/paper. There is some awesome art on the walls and the place has a fun chill vibe to it. What we had: TO- Chicken pizza with a peanut sauce.. interesting Hang Ten- Freakin hot! Holy cow! Hog- Porkbelly carnitas yum yum yum! My fav Reno- Cheese for the kids.. didn't try it I wasn't blown away but would come back if I was craving pizza and didn't feel like walking far because this is near my apartment. We sampled three amazing pizzas tonight. The combinations were distinctly unique and delicious. Personally, I can't eat spicy foods but didn't stop our choices from being stellar! We had the Popeye with delicious smoked artichokes, spinach and a cream sauce that makes you melt; the Fancy Nancy with bacon and burata cheese; and Jorte with caramelized onions with potatoes, rosemary in a bechamel sauce. Go Reno, Go! I really hope this place sticks around. The bagels are great and a welcome addition not only to the neighborhood, but to the city as well. Chewy and made a little smaller than your average bagel, the taste does have a wood=y/smokiness that sets it apart. Plus, all of the great schmear selections make them even better. I have yet to try lunch, but dinner last night was really good. "Dubs" is fancy macaroni and cheese with truffle oil. And the beetza pizza was savory and unique, with sprinkled hazelnuts and gruyere cheese. A drink a piece and dessert (bourbon ice cream was the only disappointment of the night) and our bill before tip was $38. Good service. The tables are set up a little awkwardly. Some of the two tops are kinda close together and you can be in the way of servers easily. I think this would be great place for a group of four to six with the ability to try more dishes. Haven't been to Reno yet, although I live in the neighborhood and thought I would give it a try. Went with my coworker for lunch and would have to say that I walked away with lukewarm feelings. We both ordered from the breakfast menu; I had a Basic sandwich on an olive & herb bagel and she ordered the egg BLT on a poppyseed bagel. I understand that they are wood fired and it takes a while but something felt off when it came.... we started feasting and then noticed that our orders were WRONG and that the bagels were switched around. We had a laugh about it but then it occurred to me that this is the reason why our server gave us a sheepish look as he placed the plates down... Hmmm... The coffee was good and I also had a scone but it was nothing to rave about. I've always seen this place packed and will have to come back for lunch to get the overall experience but I truly think that a lot of the success has to do with the outdoor dining area (for when its warmer). Reno is definitely in a prime Logan Square area, and I am sure that plenty of people like to go there to see and be seen and therefore will condone Reno's transgressions. read more

What a frustrating experience. We came here on their 2/$20 pizza nights and were quoted 45 minutes. Fine. We waited and we waited and we waited and finally checked with the hostess who assured us that they were waiting on FOUR tables to clear (they were just settling the bill) and we would be sat shortly. At this point, it was going on an hour. We waited. She sat everyone around us, who mind you, had come in after us. We waited. She avoided eye contact. We waited. FINALLY close to an hour and a half later we were sat at a table. To say it was ridiculous is putting it mildly. I don't know that I would come back because of that experience. I quite enjoyed my pizza after my blood pressure returned to normal. The pizza is really good - thin crust, great toppings - I would recommend the pork carnitas - it was delish. We came in to Reno as a party of 10, and although the restaurant is pretty small, Reno accommodated us with a large picnic-style table. As others have stated in reviews, the service is spotty, but the pizzas are great. Our server didn't greet us promptly, and she didn't visit the table often, so there were times when we were waiting about 5-10 minutes just to order a beer. The pizzas, though, were fantastic. We had five different pizzas, including the hog, fancy nancy, spanish monster, paulina and hang ten. My absolute favorite was the fancy nancy; the burrata in the middle of the pizza is the perfect unique touch. All of the pizzas came out on time, too, so I give them credit for that. They also have a solid beer list full of local favorites. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for affordable, unique, thin crust pizza. I don't live in the neighborhood, but I'll be back, especially for the 2 for $20 pizza deal on Tuesdays. read more

This place was very excellent. The focaccia bread was delicious. I also had the Buffalo chicken pizza that was cooked to perfection. I don't reccomend the brussel sprouts as they were just regular brussel sprouts with added butter. Our waitress was also super nice and attentive. Delicious sandwiches, the cowboy killer is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever tasted. The sides that come with the sandwiches range from just OK to disgusting. Their soup (I can't remember what kind, either split pea or chicken) was probably the worst I have ever had, luckily it was only one dollar so I don't hate them for it. I also had the Butternut squash pizza which, I thought for 11 bucks was very reasonably priced, it was light and nice but not delicious. It was missing a savory element to take it to the next level. I have been to Reno twice and had great experiences both times. I have only dined for dinner but heard their bakery items are incredible. I've had the Nico, Paulina, and Popeye pizzas. Popeye is definitely for the spinach lover. My favorite is definitely the Paulina--the jalapeno pesto on it is so great. Pastas are ok, salads are great but not huge so order two if you expect to share. Good drink selection, too. read more

BRUNCH ALERT!! Can't believe I wasn't here sooner! Stopped in here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Ambiance - warm & rustic on the inside. Great outdoor seating too. Shockingly, I didn't partake in the Brunch Cocktails since I was going to be on the road and opted for a wake-me-up cold brew. Cold, strong & black - perfect! The orange juice was fresh squeezed & delish. We wanted to start with a donut to sample their pastry shop, but sadly they had all already been scooped up. Instead, our awesome waiter brought us one of his favorite cookies - a very yummy chocolate chunk delight that was loaded with the good stuff. A very nice start! For breakfast, we tried out the Cowboy Killer & Egg BLT. You can order their breakfast sandwiches on either a bagel or their house-made English muffins. Since I'm sometimes challenged with fitting my mouth around a bagel sandwich and eating it like a human being instead of an ogre, I opted for the English Muffin... then laughed uncontrollably when my sandwich arrived. I think the house-made English Muffin is as tall as two traditional English Muffins stacked on top of each other. So much for eating the sandwich bite by bite! This was definitely one to be tackled by fork & knife. Next time, I'll get it on a bagel. Also, the English Muffin was on the dry side and not as tasty as it looked. But the inside of the Cowboy Killer was.... well, KILLER! The maple fennel sausage was super tasty and the rajas were delish. I think I'll ask for extra rajas next time! TIP #1 - Couldn't help but notice some of their daily specials. Tuesday nights they are serving up 2 Pizzas for $20 PLUS $2 Whiskey Shots & $2 PBR tallboys. What more can a girl ask for? Will definitely check out that deal! TIP #2 - Cash only, ATM on-site; A unique thing they do is offer a 'Reno Card.' Load it up and you get a 10% bonus when you reload. According to the Chicago Reader this is some of the best pizza in the city and it certainly did not disappoint. There was plenty of outdoor seating available for great Logan Square people watching on busy summer days and an extensive beer menu. The pizzas are wood fired Neopolitan style prepared perfectly. We had the "Reno" with mozzarella, jalapeño pesto, red sauce, bacon, and basil. It was an amazing pizza and perfectly sized for two people. We will definitely be return customers. read more

This isn't a traditional brunch experience but it is one that will keep you wanting more. A fantastic array of original beverages and house made bakes, including bagels with fun flavors and schmears filled us up to nap time perfection. The jo snow vanilla black pepper latte sounds weird but is not too peppery and is very balanced. The English muffins are more like biscuits and the cheddar they melt on them for the sandwiches will make you feel like you're in Vermont. Runny fried eggs, strong fennel-ed sausage, and spicy micheladas were highlights of our meal. We can't wait to go back. read more

I've eaten at Reno on three different occasions - once for brunch, once for lunch, and once for dinner. I left pleased on all three occasions. Of my three visits, the lunch stop made the biggest impression on me. I ordered The Master Blaster, a large sandwich featuring pork carnitas, onions, provolone, and pickles on ciabatta. The ingredients were relatively simple, and it filled me up without making me feel stuffed. Essentially, it was exactly what I want from a sandwich. If you're visiting for dinner, I recommend getting one or two of their pizzas (they're great for splitting with friends). Cooked in a woodfire oven, the crust is nicely charred on the outside but still chewy on the inside. And they have a good range of topping choices too, so vegetarians and carnivores alike will be mollified. Reno's alcohol selection is pretty good too. They offer some house cocktails (I recommend the Mezcal Paloma), and a variety of bottled/canned beers, as well as a few wine options. Reno offers a solid menu of affordable breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare. I don't know that it's worth a special trip to Logan Square, but if you're in the area and looking for a good meal at a reasonable price, you should definitely check it out. read more

This is my go-to place for amazing food for a great price and to take any friend from out of town or a different neighborhood. Everything I get from here always tastes great. Great dinner and brunch options. The pizza is my favorite wood-fired thin crust in the city. I recommend The Popeye (with chicken) or the Hang Ten pizza. SO good! Their pasta is to die for also, it melts in your mouth. I love their weekday specials and I crave their food almost constantly. Love their wine list as well. Such a great Logan Square gem! My friend took me to this place last Sunday for brunch. I had never heard of it but was highly impressed. The menu isn't huge, there are about 10 breakfast sandwiches and a few sides. All their bagels and donuts are homemade (delicious!). I got the southwest breakfast sandwich on an english muffin with a side of sundried tomoato pasta salad. I devoured the entire thing. It was the perfect size to not be overly full, but content and satisfied. Not a huge place, but we didn't have to wait. Friendly service which is always a plus. SO.. I wasn't blown away the first time i went to Reno (circa 2013) as their service sometimes leaves a little to be desired (very slow) but it's become one of my favorite spots in Logan. The pizza is delicious.. it's simple but oh so good. The Paulina and Hog are my favorite, the jalapeno pesto has great heat to it. Pizzas are the perfect size to split between 2.. and at a great price. If you are feeling extra hungry, throw on the salumi app, those pickles! I've never had anything here I didn't like, the brunch is great too, with bagel sandwiches and awesome pastries. Oh yeah.. iced chai that isn't 5 bucks with soy milk! The spot is casual and has a good vibe, with the friendliest of servers. Cocktails are good with solid classics and a decent price. Had dinner here on a Tuesday and studied here on a Thursday. For studying, bottomless coffee did it's job but the real highlight was the toasted everything bagel with mixed berry jam. Service was slow, but I wasn't in a hurry. Down side: way too loud to work effectively for me. For dinner had the garlic focaccia (appetizer) and hang 10 pizza. The appetizer was huge..split it bet 2, but would have been perfect for a group of 4 - it was the size of the pizzas. The pizza was delicious with pineapple, onion, coppa, and jalapeño..except for one particularly spicy jalapeño.. Service was miserably slow, wasn't planning on a 2hr event. I've eaten at Reno three times now since it opened, and every time, I have had a great experience. The staff here is friendly and helpful. They are all down-to-earth people you can have a good conversation with if you want. I have had a couple of sandwiches, both of which were the bomb. All of the sandwiches come with some sort of interesting ingredient (i.e. honey on the chicken sandwich) that you wouldn't expect, but it always tastes incredible. The bagel chips with hummus is a fantastic side dish. This is a great place to take a group, too. They offer pizza at night, and the atmosphere is great. They have a few booths that can comfortably seat six. I love all of the furniture and light fixtures they chose for the side tables. I will definitely be going back soon. After hearing about this place for its bagels over the last few months, I finally stopped in over the weekend for some late-ish dinner with friends. The whole experience actually outstripped any expectations I might have had, and I think this is a place I'll be suggesting for future meals. The fact that four of us were showing up on a Saturday night during the Milwaukee Ave. arts fest made me a little leery about possible wait times, but we were seated immediately at a table we requested on the sidewalk patio. The server was understandably harried, but still friendly and reasonably attentive. I think all of us were pretty happy with the bar menu, and the food was really satisfying and fast. The salad I had was better than I hoped for, as was the smokey-flavored pizza my friend and I split was very tasty. The pizza crust lacked much crunch, but even though it is a doughy recipe the flavor is good. All together, there's nothing really negative I can add - they were fast, friendly and the food was very good. I'll be back. read more

Nothing really caught my eye, but we got the smoky chicken pizza with a peanut spread topping - sounds interesting right?
