REPIPE SPECIALISTS was hired to re-pipe the the plumbing and natural gas lines in a development where we own several properties. in early June, the guys working on our building managed to cross the lines and turned everybody's sinks into flame throwers. to be kind, the damage was significant and will run in the millions of dollars. a neighbor captured his crisis response on his Ring camera. because he neglected to bring any of the safety equipment required by the city of Encinitas to do the work, he tried to put out a gas fire with water from the bottle in his truck. details are sketchy since nobody wants to take responsibility and the city Encinitas still hasn't filed the fire report even though it's been nearly four months. yeah, kind of a mess. occupants of sixteen units (including four that were undamaged) were displaced after the Fire Department declared the entire building unfit for human habitation. renters and owners all had to find new places to live after their stuff was scorched and then water damaged. owners are either out rental income or are now renting somewhere else and still have to pay mortgages, homeowner's insurance, HOA fees, and property taxes. current estimates are a minimum of twelve months before the places are habitable. zero permits for the rebuild have been issued with no indication if and when that might happen. nice, right? the response from REPIPE SPECIALISTS? crickets. ps: expect this to be the next addition to my "Experiences with the Legal System" list ... read more

When we had our 4th pinhole leak in our plumbing in under 2 years, we decided it was time to at least get quotes to get it done. Through basically a mistaken referral, I contacted Repipe Specialists first. They had an estimator (Douglas) out the next morning at 8:00 to check out our plumbing issues. He gave us an estimate, which included a new hot water heater, and outlined how the work would be done. Day 1: A crew would arrive at 8:00 and complete all of the repiping that day. Day 2: They would arrange for a city inspector to come and verify the work and approve. Day 3: A drywall crew would arrive to patch and retexture all the places where holes were made. We received a second bid from a company who had done work for a family member. That quote was about $3000 higher, and they said it would take a week to complete. I was skeptical that Repipe Specialists would deliver as promised, as we have a large (3,000 sq ft) two story house. After researching a bit further, we decided to go with Repipe Specialists. As promised, they showed up at 8:00 on day 1 (Thursday) with a crew of 8 and immediately started covering the floors and plastic sheeting over ever surface and piece of furniture. They had to cut A LOT of holes in drywall, but by 5:30 they were completely done and cleaned up, replacing every valve in the house (including outdoor spigots) and installing the new water heater. Day 2 (Friday) the city inspector showed up and approved the work. Day 3 (Saturday) the drywall crew of 6 showed up, covered and protected every surface and were finished by 4:00. This team was unprofessional and unethical. Michelle Bernasconi and her team didn't cover anything in my unit with plastic like I was told would happen, my front door was left opened for hours with no one inside or work being completed. On Monday 12/16/24 I received notification her team had completed the work, however both bathrooms had incomplete painting. Today 12/18/24 while I was in the shower, her team entered my apartment with an access code. My dogs started barking like crazy, I screamed 2 times before they left. No one gave me any notice they would be entering my home, and they should not have had an access code. I confronted Michelle and she said she didn't have access, I asked how she gained entry and she walked away from me stating I needed to speak with my leasing manager. We noticed a drop of pressure and a higher than normal water bill, started looking at potential issues and quickly learned we had a slab leak, fortunately for us the slap leak was only making the floor warm and the water was finding an exit elsewhere not up, we confirmed we had a slab leak with a different company and started getting quotes, Ross from Repipe Specialists quote was not the highest, not the lowest, but his pitch was good and informative, we ultimately went with Repipe Specialist for our repipe job, their team was quick and efficient, our bigger worry was the amount of damage to our home(holes), when repiping with PEX they were extremely considerate about what needed to be cut open and where, they kept holes at a minimum. the repipe itself was done in one day and the next day another team showed up to patch the holes previously made, THEY DO NOT PAINT, not a deal breaker because they do mention that before signing the contract so you can't be upset at them for it. I was very pleased with the service of the Repipe Specialists. The process started with a sales person (Ross) coming out to map out my house to take measurements. He was able to give me a quote on the spot (which was very competitive), and then walked me through a very detailed binder of their process. He said their team would do the job in 1-day, which I was doubtful of (3100 SF house). It was difficult for me to make a decision on which contractor to use as we previously had several leaks in our slab, and there were not that many Yelp reviews for this contractor. After our due diligence, we decided to move forward with Repipe Specialist and I was very pleased with the service in the end. We worked with Igor's team (highly recommended), and his team of 8 guys came in and knocked the job out in 1-day! In the coming days (would have been next day, but I needed it inspected by the city for the permit) his team of dry wallers came to repair all the holes, and they did a pretty good job, including repairing the stucco on the exterior. We worked with the city to get a permit on this repipe and the job/repairs passed without any flags from the inspectors. I recommend getting a permit, the process is not difficult, but it will slow your job down by a few days. Nevertheless, I am glad we got the permit. I would definitely recommend Repipe specialists, and especially to use Igor's team. Igor worked with me through the permit process and was very attentive and customer focused. The one knock I would have is that the dry wall texture wasn't to my standards in a few areas, but the company worked with me to make it right. We recently had a pin hole in one of our copper pipes that resulted in the removal of our wood flooring for entire first floor. After the repair of the pin hold leak we decided to repipe our entire house with the PEX system. I worked with Ross Chagovets from the Repipe Specialist to set up a schedule to do the job. They came in within a week and repiped our entire hose ( 2800 Sq. Ft) in one day. The next day their second crew came in and repaired and textured all the holes in the walls. I also decided to pay extra to have a hot water recirculating pump put in to give us instant hot water. They are a very professional company and their work is exceptional! I had several critical constraints like crown moulding and one of a kind kitchen ceiling texture that could not be touched. He listened, provided pipe routing alternatives, and said their team could do the repipe in 1-day. One day? Yep, the repipe portion for a 2500 sq foot home was one day! The on site team lead, Igor, came out a few days before the job to determine pipe routing and talk to me about other details. Igor was very attentive to my concerns and was professional to work with. Igor's team came in and completed the repipe portion in 1-day! The entire job to include repipe, wall and ceiling repair, stucco repair, city inspections, and my painting of the repaired areas took 9 days total! One important note for the super picky people: Do not expect the drywall to match exactly. It won't, but darn close! You will know where the holes were but no one else will notice. In a few areas the company worked with me to make it even better. Oh, be sure to get a city permit for this job. The job is too complex to not have one. No doubt I was very anxious about such a large job but I wanted a contractor who does it every day and has hundreds of re-pipes experience. It's all they do. Full home repipe experience (except piping to street underground) : I found them online after getting outrageous quotes from several other local plumbing companies and they were prompt to respond and schedule an in home walk through and review of their services. The gentleman patiently walked through the durability, quality, and sustainability of their materials and service (with the options available) and let me decide rather than "here's what we're going to do" type of sales pitch. They were able to start the job within a few days, but I had to delay it on account of other projects in the home which they proved to be very flexible for. On the day of the job they did another walk through just to be sure and promptly got to work repiping the entire home, stopping to communicating what their progress was, and even offering me peeks into their intriguing repiping process. The next day they put on new stucco and drywall to close up all the walls and I wish I could give 5 stars to whoever did the stucco alone because it was flawless and matched the existing stucco perfectly I couldn't believe it! The drywall texture matched the existing texture as well and was indistinguishable from the rest! I had a few other drywall spots that they patched from another project that they accommodated for easily. We had a burst hot water line. Luckily we found Repiping Specialists on line. The sales rep. Educated us on the process and products used to move all water lines into the attic. Their price was 50% of plumbing companies. The crew came out the next day and worked efficiently to connect new pipes. Professional job done. Courteous workers, clearly knowledgeable. We were told they would be able to repipe our single story home in one day (home is 1912 sf). I was surprised when they did . They came in and the guys each did job , either cutting holes, crawling in the attic, etc. There was no playing around. They were here for business, They started around 0800 and finished around 1530 . We then did a walk through to make sure everything worked as before and was happy. it did. Now, the salesperson suggested I add a circulation pump to the water heater and a line from the pump to the farthest part of the house so we could get faster hot water. It was an additional 3,000 dollars but we are glad we added it. We no longer needed to leave the hot water on for a while for the water to get hot. Now, the repatching guys came in the next day and did the patching and did a very good job but expect there still to be dust everywhere, even though they did their best to cover. Also, the patching guys do not paint. Overall, we are very satisfied with the work that was done and would recommend them. read more

Glad to get this job behind me. Sales rep was good but $2k over Creative RePipe who seemed nice and knew what they were doing. They matched Creative Repipes price but then tried to cheap out on the patch job. Which makes me wonder what happened with the re-piping as I was not home. I have thick knock down orange peel texture and they barely put any texture. Very uneven patch and retexture by toilets even after I asked them to re-do it. Put toilet and garden hose on opposite wall where they had better access. Had to make them re-do it. Left me to close up walls in shower wall and retile, paint, and put everything away that they moved. Not a professional deal. Wish I had gone with Creative Repipe. If you do get suckered into this company, make sure you watch them all day so they don't put pipes in places you don't want them and check the texturizing well before they finish so they can add more if you're not happy. read more

I was skeptical when they claimed they could re-pipe my entire house in 1-day.  Why? Because I live in a fairly large home (3200sq ft) built in 1960 that's had numerous add-ons by numerous companies over the years. Everything in the house is old and every project we've done on this place has been an exercise in patience and busted budgets. So, when I sat down with the sales team, I was giving them the "yeah right" smirk.  I read the reviews, I compared them to a few competitors and then I rolled the dice. I'm happy to report a couple of months after that first sales call (my timing not theirs) how impressed I am with the whole outfit.  It wouldn't be my house if some things didn't go wrong, and they did.... However, Repipe figured it all out in a stride even when they had to spend extra time making it right. Isaac and his team are the A-Team of plumbing, all they're missing is the black van.  Aprox. ten guys showed up the day of the install.  I had done all my homework (a sheet of to-do's that you must complete to make the job go smoothly.) They got to work about 8:30 am.  We had them remove 2 water heaters (1 gas and 1 electric from 1983) and replace them both with a gas tankless water heater as a part of the full-house (2 stories) pex conversion.  My first impression was one of uneasiness as at least 3 teams went to work on our walls with heavy equipment. If there's one warning to future customers, it's that these guys waste NO time getting into your walls and they will cut open as many walls and ceilings as they deem necessary to get the job done.  I felt like we were in a war zone for most of the day, but that's the price of progress. These guys worked their tails off ALL day.  It's a messy process, and even though they cover EVERYTHING, sheet rock dust has a way of going everywhere. So, (as the homework sheet says) anything you don't want to clean afterwards should probably come out of the house. My house was threatening their 1 day timeline and threw just about every curve ball it could at them from having to run a new vent for the tankless water heater as the old one wasn't to spec, to an old sink that cracked in the process of refitting the fixtures.  Isaac and team never blinked, they just kept going.  At 6:30pm on the first day they finally wrapped by cleaning the house and vacuuming everywhere.  If I were the house, I would have probably felt violated... The next day the sheetrock team comes through. Same work ethic, same attention to detail, same determination.  By mid-day they had patched over 30 separate openings. If this worries you, it shouldn't, these guys are TOP notch sheetrock and stucco guys.  After repainting, their work is invisible. If by now you're ready to do this, a couple of bits of advice. 1. If you're thinking about swapping out sink fixtures, ask the team if they'll install the new fixtures for you. It costs a bit more, but it's so very worth it if you're in an older home.  2. Turn off computers or any appliances with fans as they will inhale sheetrock dust covered or otherwise. In the aftermath we had 2 issues. 1.The sink that got broken was glued/cemented into the old tile countertops and there was only one way to remove it and that was to break it out with a hammer.  This left us in need of a tile specialist as well as a new sink. Isaac and company took care of it.  It took a few days for them to schedule the tile guy and I'm assuming they had to come out of pocket for that, but when he arrived, he too did A+ work.  2. The vent for the tankless water heater was venting too close to a door that is often open and fumes were making their way back in.  I don't consider this to be anyone's fault per say, but again, Isaac and team came back out the next Monday and ran the vent up through 2 stories to the roof and patched the walls for us.   Bottom line, even if things go wrong in an old house (which is just the reality with older homes,) Repipe has your back all the way. Their work ethic is second to none. My only regret is that I can't hire them on as my permanent plumber since this is ALL they do (very well.) read more
