There was a ton of mushrooms that packed a lot of umami flavor and the bread was soaked in truffle oil. My order included the Charcoal Vanilla Latte, Americano, croissant, and the breakfast burrito. Total came out to about $37. After ordering, my boyfriend and I sat down. They brought me my heated croissant. About 5 minutes later, the barista called my name to get my coffees. About 10 minutes after that, the burrito was served. This led to my croissant being cold since I wanted to wait for all the food to come out to eat. I suggest they should serve all the food at once. Overall, this was an okay experience. Seats are limited indoors as it gets pretty packed here as everyone is getting there coffee fix but it clears up quick if they aren't studying and there are also seats outdoors! This place was so good! They have an extensive menu with plenty of vegan options, which was a nice surprise! I got the cardamom oat latte (vegan), which was so good! I would 100% get again. I've heard so many good things about this place my friend Karren recommended it and I'm so happy I had an opportunity to try it. First off Thank you to Alex for making my experience a wonderful one. She made the most prettiest, cutest latte art for me which I so appreciated it. She really took her time and as you can see from the picture the effort and love she put into it. Little things like this make me so happy and this left a very lasting impression for me. I ordered the cardamom latte instead of oat milk I got whole milk which I felt made the latte taste creamier. I only ever stop here for coffee (iced lavender latte - im a creature of habit), but they have food offerings as well that I've never tried - this is just about the coffee. Honestly it's fine, not the best coffee in LA but it's good and it's super convenient when you want to sneak an iced latte into a movie or have something to sip on after walking around the mall. Word of advice if you are getting coffee here - they have online ordering available. If you go this route, you still have to stand in line at the front to let the cashier know you're hear to pick up a coffee order - then the coffee bar off to the side will finish your drink. I once made the mistake of going in and waiting by the coffee bar an embarrassingly long time before someone asked me how they could help. Confusing. read more

Review of Republic Coffee - Disappointing Experience (2/5 Stars) When we first walked in, the place looked clean and well-maintained. We were served quickly, and the cashier was generally friendly, but no one offered any additional recommendations or suggestions. To the left of the cashier, there was a small display case with croissants, pastries, and sandwiches. However, the case was quite small, and everything inside looked somewhat dried out, as if it had been sitting there for too long. We decided to sit outside. The outdoor waiter was not particularly friendly--there were no smiles, no greetings, and no one checked on the guests to see if they were satisfied. The service felt indifferent. We ordered two ham and cheese croissants, a flat white, and an espresso tonic. The drinks were fine--nothing special. The croissant was mediocre but served hot. However, the service sequence was off. They brought the croissant first, even though our drinks weren't ready yet. It would have made more sense to serve the drinks first and then the food. Our table was quite dusty and not very clean. We didn't ask for it to be wiped down, but it should have been done before we sat down. When the croissant was served, no one asked if I needed utensils, nor did they say anything polite like "Enjoy your meal." The croissant was simply placed on the table, with only a basic white napkin underneath it--on a visibly dirty table. When our drinks finally arrived, we asked for utensils. The waiter brought us two plastic forks and two plastic spoons, again placing them directly on the dirty table. However, we noticed that other guests had proper metal utensils. We had to go back and ask for regular cutlery, which was then brought to us wrapped in a napkin. The flat white was served in a dirty cup--it had visible stains and watermarks, clearly not washed properly. The espresso tonic was served in a plastic cup, which felt cheap and out of place. Overall, I was disappointed. Despite the 4.5-star rating, the service, food, and overall experience were underwhelming. No one checked on us, no one asked if we liked our food or drinks, and there was no interest in customer feedback. The restroom was relatively clean, and the indoor seating area was tidy and fully occupied. However, the dirty tableware, low-quality plastic utensils, and lack of attention to service were major letdowns. No one offered sugar, cinnamon, or syrups, and when I specifically asked if they had sugar-free syrups, they said they didn't. Additionally, placing napkins directly on a dirty table is simply unacceptable. There should at least be coasters or trays to maintain hygiene. I am giving this place 2 out of 5 stars. I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend it based on this experience. read more

I've tried their Lavender & Oat latte and the Charcoal latte, both delicious. It does get crowded so keep this in mind if you want to dine in. They have great indoor and outdoor seating areas. This girl has found another fabulous coffee place to hit up in the SFV. Woot woot!!! This hidden cafe use to be a Greek restaurant before Covid. Very cozy hang & service with a smile. We ordered our drinks at the front counter near the bakery case and picked them up at the coffee bar towards the back when they called our names. They were ready quickly which always impresses this coffee connoisseur:) My Vietnamese Cold Brew was perfect. Very tasty made with condensed milk, coconut water and dusted with cinnamon. Our prepackaged chipotle sandwich was also good. My daughter got her usual iced matcha which she said was good. They have a very clean & spacious bathroom inside for customers. *GPS is off on the exact location here. May I suggest walking just past Finney's and turning right at the alley. Walk a few feet and you will see the entrance to your right & the outdoor patio. *Spent $31 this visit-(Vietnamese Cold Brew, Iced Matcha Latte & a Chicken chipotle sandwich with a side salad) *As 2023 winds down, so does my "coffee lovers unite collection" recommendations. I was so excited when this coffee shop opened in downtown Burbank. I've literally had people randomly come up to me on the street asking where the nearest local coffee shop was that wasn't a big corporate chain, and I was like "There's none here; you have to go to Magnolia Park". But now we have Republik! Since it opened, it's become one of my go-tos. I've gone once a week so far for a matcha and sometimes a snack. The rose matcha is really good. I also have had the iced lavender chai, which is lovely and not too sweet. I'm more of a tea person, so can't speak to the actual coffee. Also love the avocado toast. Like one of the best ones I've had in LA hands down. Ambiance is very hip and classy, almost European. It's a little oasis in downtown. They've made such a lovely outdoor seating area, and there's plenty of small tables inside as well as a bar counter. You can take your laptop and work (free wifi) or just chat it up with a friend. My only complaint is sometimes the music is really loud and it's hard to concentrate/talk to people. I like it when the music is ambiance not the main focus. The service here for pick up is horrible. This is the second time and it will be my last time because this time I walked away empty-handied after waiting 25 minutes past my pick up time. My order was supposed to be ready 11:20 am I got there at 11:16 am and waited until 11:22 am to walk up to the baristas about my pick up only to get directed to the staff at the ordering counter. There was a line so I waited to show my order the tender and she said to wait. I ordered four items via Door Dash for a time ahead pick-up, like an hour ahead so I could run errands beforehand (Vietnamese cold brew, ham and cheese croissant, a pastry, and side of fruit). So I waited more after I thought my order would be ready as I watch other delivery people pick up orders, and others after me get their orders. I check a second time at the ordering counter and nothing at this point it's 11:35 am and I'm done waiting. I speak with a customer rep on Door Dash and I'm walking back to the parking lot upset because I waited for nothing. Something has to change with the pick up and ordering system here or else do not have it. I felt so unheard and unseen waiting at Republik, both times, but this second time was really upsetting. No direction for pick up orders. No system really set in place. None of the staff was helpful or friendly. Never coming back here. Got financial refund but the time and impression I cannot get back. I stopped by Republik Coffee around 5pm on Saturday to try a new local coffee shop and grab a quick drink. I parked in the structure on First & Orange, which leads directly behind the shop. When I arrived, there were many customers seated, but the queue was short and it didn't take too long for my drink to come out. I ordered the hot Cardamom Oat Latte and it was basically autumn in a cup! The crushed cardamom syrup made the drink so fragrant, deep, and rich - very fitting for the chilly weather. I couldn't taste much of the coconut condensed milk and oat milk, but I think they made the drink more thick and filling. Also, the espresso was very strong for me - definitely kept me awake for hours, which was a mistake on my part for having coffee so late in the day. Might ask for the decaf options next time. Overall, the Cardamom Oat Latte was delicious despite causing me to loose some sleep (ha). In addition, the staff was friendly, and there was free WiFi (printed on receipt) and indoor & outdoor seating. The ambiance was casual and the decor was European-inspired.
