After a few rounds around the block, I found a spot and walked over. It was also extremely busy in the spot and took about 10 minutes before I could order. I decided to get a Salted Cold Brew Cloud. I get my nails done regularly next door but only a month or so ago decided to finally check Republik out. I've now been there several times and I have to say this is some of the best coffee I've had. I'm not big on coffee drinks which I always consider quite unnecessary/frou-frou but here, their Signature Drinks HIT. I've had several 'as is' (no modifications) and they are just so...balanced. I am scarred by sweetness of some other cafe renditions but nothing here I have found overwhelmed by the sweetener. Black Vanilla Latte, Lavender & Oat, Cardamom Oat Latte, Sea Salted Hazelnut Cappuccino, Purple Caramel Latte...you honestly can't go wrong. My 1st order was actually their Vietnamese Cold Brew ("dark roast cold brew, condensed milk, coconut water, rich cold foam" and I was SO SURPRISED how good it was. I remember audibly mouthing "wow." So safe to say I'm now a big fan after experiencing this + other choices beyond it. Food: I haven't had a full meal here but a good selection of brunch dishes I see others around me partaking in + a few brunch cocktails. In the meantime, I have however, gotten hooked on their pastries i.e. their ham & cheese croissant (warmed up) eats like a meal as it's the right amount of decadent. P.S. Parking is terrible from 2pm to 6pm. You have to find street parking in Pasadena. It is also known that Pasadena is really strict about parking enforcements. So read all the signs before leaving your vehicle! Staff were super friendly and very helpful. I got their ham and cheese croissant with a jasmine hot tea. I had to watch which item to get because there were flies inside the display where they grabbed the small sandwiches. They also had a fridge that kept all the cold items and desserts. Their patio is pet friendly and is nice and small. A cute little coffee shop. They also sell alcohol there. Im not sure if I'd come back for the food, but the drinks and ambiance is what I'd come back for. read more

Pretty solid, but not my favorite in Pasadena. We got a cardamom latte and a matcha latte. The cardamom latte was amazing, but the matcha was very milky. Wonderful place to study on the weekdays! I heard their WiFi can get kind of slow on the weekends, or it's not available. Great cafe vibes, a taddd bit pricey but I guess it's the standard for Pasadena. Brunch and drinks here are excellent! I really enjoyed their cloud cold brew. I ordered The Quench and it completely lacked flavor -- it really needed seasoning and salt. My best friend ordered the bacon, egg, and croissant sandwich, and the eggs were also very bland with no real flavor. The café itself is cute and has a nice vibe, but the food didn't meet our expectations at all. I've only ordered delivery from republik in the past and only recently have been here in person and would definitely come back in person next time because this is just the cutest cafe. Normally the interior is pretty packed with people working on their computers so it's pretty quiet too. The outdoor seating is definitely more adorable and cute. There's multiple benches outside and are quite comfortable too. Makes for a good spot for girls day too. French toast 5/5 so so so good. Crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Fruit, powdered sugar and whipped cream on top. All the works! Chia pudding 5/5 one of the best things on the menu in my opinion. Coconut flavor infused in the chia pudding. If you're in the mood for something lighter this is definitely a good option. Rose Matcha 5/5 good quality matcha always makes for a good latte. I can see why many love this place, tall ceilings, NY coffee house feel, customers that look like lululemon and Vuori models, etc. The salted cold brew cloud wasn't too special- it had a nice salted cream foam, that made me feel like a kid with each whip of my tongue. The big disappointment is their breakfast burrito. The chorizo reminded me of a calabrese salami, which is delicious on a pizza, but not the texture I want on a burrito. Not sure how this is the #1 food item, maybe should have gone with the chilaquiles or a $6 danish. Staff was friendly, but the food missed the mark. Also, you can buy some bottles of Caymus and Opus One in the scenario you can't make it to a wine store. read more

A trendy restaurant with delicious food just off of Lake Ave in Pasadena. Republik is located on a shady block on Green St with street parking and a small front patio. It was busy today with many people working on their computers, grabbing coffee, or lunch with friends. My husband and I got a couple of sandwiches to try out and a refreshing drink. The Pink Guava drink is Lowkey the most delicious drink I've had in a long time. Coconut, guava, blueberries, and it's not artificial or incredibly sweet it's just perfect! My chipotle chicken sandwich was scrumptious with plenty of aoli and avocado and my husband loved his turkey club. The service was nice and the place had cute decor with the owner walking around being attentive and friendly to guests. My only tick was that it needed a little TLC to get the restaurant up to the same standard as their delicious food but I get it, it was a busy holiday. You'll always catch me trying some new coffee shop. I was happy to stumble across this one out in Pasadena when I dined in at Nick's. Now this place could be a little bit difficult to find when you plug it into Apple maps. This is located on a busy street with no real parking. They do have some street parking available, but it could be pretty hard to come by. Upon walking in, you're welcomed by such a nice ambience and it feels very homey. I came in on a Saturday afternoon, and this place was pretty packed. They do have a pretty good selection of pastries available, some refrigerated items, some lunch and breakfast items, and of course a coffee bar. For a place like this expect to pay upwards of $8 for a drink and probably about$6-$8 for pastry. I guess it's pretty expected. I stood in line for about 5 to 10 minutes, it did move pretty quickly, but the place was pretty busy. All the tables were taken inside and what was nice as that they did have live music going with some guy playing a guitar - he was pretty good. They do have some tables available outside, but also pretty hard to come by. The lady that took my order was just OK, I didn't get spectacular service, but I can try to understand why as it was pretty busy. I did order a traditional iced vanilla latte and it did look a lot milkier than it tasted. It was OK, something I can definitely make it home. Overall, the vibes of this place we're pretty nice and I can see why I can get pretty busy. They do have a pretty good selection of menu items so rest assured there is something for everybody. Some feedback for the place: - I would recommend maybe slowing down with your customers despite a line forming. Try to make the experience a little bit more memorable for each person walking in. - Redo the pastry display as it looks a little mediocre, with that you'd have more appealing display. Let's start by saying it's such a cute little cafe in Pasadena. They usually have live music playing on the weekends with oh gives it this chill, relaxing vibe. It's cute and small. They have both inside and outside sitting. It's good for a friend hang out as well as needing to get some stuff done. The menu looks pretty extensive. I just got this time around a Lavender & Honey Matcha Latte. Which was amazing. Definitely have to come back to try some breakfast stuff. I had a cup of drip. I thought the coffee was not good. It didn't have a strong coffee flavor and had that slightly soury taste (acidic?), which I really dislike. I used to think that flavor must be caused by the beans. But, I learned that under-extraction can cause it and the ground size can contribute to the under-extraction. So the technique seems to have a significant impact. But, cool place and maybe the food or espresso drinks are better. read more

We got chicken pesto panini, eggs Benedict, chilaquiles, a latte, a mocha and a purple caramel latte. Let me start by saying the drinks were so good. You can tell they use quality ingredients. Nothing too sweet--the perfect balance. The pesto panini and egg Benedict's were good but the chilaquiles were great! I had a frustrating experience picking up an order here. When I arrived, the staff were only paying attention to customers in line and completely ignored drivers waiting for pickups. I stood there for a while without any acknowledgment. When I finally asked about my order, I was told to wait by the wall next to the restroom, which felt dismissive and unprofessional.
