After my Yakima roof rack and my Cannondale bicycle got into a fight with a local parking garage (the garage won that round...), I was left with surprisingly little damage to either of my fighters. A few scratches and bruises to the bike but the rack had been tweaked just enough so it would not fit properly on the roof of my little car. Little Car suffered a tiny bit too, but frankly I was happy to see that the roof was still attached. The rack was completely ripped off the top of Little Car ! A small side note; kudos to Yakima Viper bike rack, as my bike was still fully attached to the rack after that less than graceful swan dive. Back to ReRack. I went in for assistance after deciding that the Q-clips were bent and they set me up with 2 used clips for $15 for the set. I also needed a replacement cover for one of the Q-towers. One had snapped when I was trying to re-install. They said I had the 'bad ones' and it was bound to happen eventually. They had a better quality used one. Price: $5. They also tossed in a little clip for the Fairing that got lost in the mayhem, for free. So for a grand total of $20 I walked out with all the items I needed to get my rack up and running again. Back home and an hour later, I am feeling pretty cocky again. While my ego took the biggest hit in that fight, it was nice to have the gentlemen at ReRack in my corner before sending me back into the ring. Watch out for that upper cut. It's a killer ! Great customer service, very helpful. I have a Thule bike rack and a Thule roof rack that were keyed differently. Went in to get a cylinder to key the bike rack the same as the roof, and they just swapped me cylinders no charge. Think twice about purchasing from this company. The bike rack did not fit my roof rack and Rerack didn't care. They only cared about making the one sale and not a loyal customer. Rerack requires you to pay the full shipping cost plus a 20% restocking fee. They apparently think its still 1995. The return shipping was going to be $53 and total loss for me would have been $82 on a purchase of just $142. I decided to just resell the item on my own. I highly recommend you DO NOT buy from this company. I tried to work a compromise but they were unwilling to budge. Customer service dos not exist with Rerack. I purchased 2 of the same racks from moparonlineparts.com and they were $100 cheaper for the same bike racks except theses actually fit my roof rack and their customer service was amazing. Based on the reviews we read about ReRack, we were so surprised that our experience was not a positive one. We live an hour from Portland and our schedules often prevent us from taking care of errands during business hours, so it is important for us to get it right the first time. My husband called ahead and spoke to ReRack to let them know what we needed. We made an appointment with him for 1:30 p.m. the same day. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly. Our ReRack rep verified that we were the people who had made the 1:30 p.m. appointment, and he walked us through all of our options. He told us it would take about 3 hours, and he pointed us in the direction of food carts and a coffee place with WiFi. We left ReRack at nearly 2:00 p.m. feeling confident that our car was in good hands. Around 4:30 p.m., two and a half hours into our appointment, we decided to walk back to ReRack to check on the progress. When we arrived, we were shocked to find that the work had not even begun on our car. We were told that someone else had made an appointment over ours, and that they had been working on this other car instead of ours. If they started the work now, we wouldn't have our car until 7:30 p.m., a full six hours after we arrived. The coffee house where we had been waiting was now closed. We had no way of getting home, so we couldn't come back for our car later. Yet the most frustrating part of it all was that we had called ahead and made an appointment. An appointment that was acknowledged when we arrived and was not honored. ReRack had our cell phone number and someone was supposed to call us when the car was done, so why didn't they call us to tell us about the delay? We trusted that that somebody at ReRack would keep an eye on our car and let us know of any problems. Nobody did. So we took time out of our only day to run errands to drive an hour away from our home, sit at a coffee house, and wait for no reason. Needless to say, we are very frustrated and disappointed. We were quoted $750 for the roof rack, two bike adapters and two kayak adapters. A price we were more than happy to pay to ReRack, but that we will now pay to someone else. read more

Came in and bought a Yakima cargo box for $499. That price was way cheaper than anywhere we researched online. It was a super easy transaction, no pressure to buy and the staff was very nice & helpful. Then got home and wanted to read more about the cargo box and low and behold REI was having a sale! The exact cargo box was $100 cheaper. The next day, I called ReRack and told them what happen. Went back in and they credited us $99 on our credit card. After trading in one car for another, I had two problems: needed to unload an old bike rack, and needed a rack for the new car. ReRack took care of them both very quickly and professionally, and I ended up paying half what I would've paid at [Retail Enterprise Inthemall]. After offering me a good deal on my old rack, the staff were very patient with me and took the time to explain all my options for new and used bike racks, and each of their pros and cons including price differences. When I'd decided on a rack setup, I left them my keys, took a walk around Laurelhurst, got a cup of coffee and when I returned it was fully installed at no extra charge. I called these guys about a week before coming in to see if they had anything that would work with my Lexus SUV with a Panoramic roof. They took the time to look through their vendors then gave me the one that would work. They even gave me the part numbers to review. I found the price for the rack that I bought similar to Craig's list postings but ReRack has a limited time satisfaction guarantee. I do not do reviews often but feel compelled to do this one. After calling, the person on the phone said I needed to go to a store to find a used rack, seemed reasonable. Went to a store. I am an older (meaning old) dude without much money and told the person in the store I was shopping for something used as there was not a big budget. The sales person looked at my car and proceeded to explain why the only "safe" solution for me was a new model rack for $450. I did not ask what they would have sold me last year, that they might have used today :-). I called a company down the street from them then (Rack Attack). That person asked some questions, put me on hold for 10 minutes and then returned to explain they could marry a couple of new parts to a used rack and get me on the road for $280. So I have factory cross bars not installed and upon pre-calling was told it shouldn't be a problem to install for a cost and to then install ski racks I would be purchasing. I recently was shopping around for a rack for my Mazda for a camping trip. I first went to Rack Attack. I was treated as if I forgot my wallet that day. The service was horrible and I left empty handed. I went to ReRack. Ok, I try to give places the benefit of the doubt, and I was excited to check out ReRack with my dad. But we left feeling pretty disappointed, and were so frustrated that we decided to leave before even being offered help. The beginning of our frustrations arose from the mere fact that we were there on a Saturday - mid day - and there were three to four other patrons who entered after us. Then we proceeded to stand around for 15 minutes. With four other people waiting around and only one number ahead of ours, we were sure it wouldn't be a long wait. ... We waited, and waited. Meanwhile, numerous employees shuffled around the store - seemingly working, but none offering to help. All of the business was being handled by one employee. We knew what we needed: a yakima lock core and a top rack. We could see the one that we needed, and wanted to try to see if they had any used or warranty-less racks that may have been cheaper. ... 15 minutes later, we were still waiting around. No one had shown any interest in us, so we departed. It wasn't that we didn't try to talk to someone; it was that we didn't feel like anyone was interested in helping us and despite waiting with a number and having our questions ready we decided "screw it this is a waste of our time, we know what we need. Let's take our business elsewhere." Not something i like to do especially when a local business is concerned. Hopefully we just caught them on an off day. read more

I can't believe they didn't charge me to breathe their oxygen... I bought a complete rack set for 300$ (a decent price). Then I was told they mount for free but that they encourage tipping or beer. So I paid them 300$ for a used rack (towers, mounts, clips, bars) then bought them beer to install (which I was told takes an hour). It only took them 10 minutes then I noticed the key locks were missing. Surprise surprise, key locks are an additional 30$. I already owned a snowboard carrier and they refused to mount it on the racks- even though they said it was easy- without charging me AGAIN! I tipped when I initially bought, I bought them beer to install later, and still they wanted more to complete the job. They have the right products-which they should- but tipping at a retail products store? Theres a line for tipping when you use your card as if you're at a bar. Not to mention they break down a product and sell it separately. All said and done, I should have gone new for another 100$ and saved myself the trouble of doing business with panhandling drunks. read more
