Okay folks, Rescate Coffee is my favorite coffee shop off I-5. It will say Grace Coffee Roasters outside (same people I believe) but if it does, that's the place. My go-to order is their Mayan Mocha. Mmmmm...unless you have a dietary reason, get it made with whole milk. The extra creaminess of the milk lends itself nicely to the spice and chocolate. My husband has gotten their Tuxedo and Americano. The tuxedo is very good. Baked goods, I've had their chocolate croissant and the ham and cheese with egg croissant. If you order it with egg, they make it for you fresh in the back. I haven't had much else, outside the Mayan Mocha. But they boast a standard coffee house menu as well as their specialties. read more

But I will say that they have kept all the things I loved about grace, friendly staff, great coffee and great prices! The new owners seem very sweet and genuinely passionate about their business. I walked into to Rescate this morning to get a cup of coffee and was pleasantly surprised at the great vibe in here. Not overly loud on the eclectic Pandora radio station, great decor, and their baked goods are plenty yummy and not grossly over priced (Pete's & *$Bucks)...And...the staff is pleasant, not moody, and not over the top on the "I'm different" because I have a sleeve tattoo's, gauges in the ears, and a barbell in my nose, and I hate working but it's the only place that will hire me because I'm different" kinda attitude...HAHAHA...So!! why come here, the coffee is really the best I've had anywhere in town. I love dark roast but rarely order it because it can be to bitter/acidic, makes my tummy hurt...Or it taste like burn toast, but then sometimes I get really surprised and the roaster here knows how to make a great Dark Roast...the light and medium as well. On a road trip and stopped in to Rescate Coffee to stay away from the chain stores and support a local business. What a delight! Not only did they serve their coffee with heavy whipping cream (just like we like it) but the girl at the counter (Tara) was amazing. She had great energy, was friendly, knowledgeable, great personality. I would hire her in a second to be the face of my business! I would also go out of my way for coffee here just because of her. Also, the coffee was tasty and the perfect temperature to sip from my travel mug. Ten stars. Five for the business and five for Tara! read more

My fiancé and I ordered a triple latte and a mocha this evening. They were both Luke warm instead of hot. The small mocha tasted like hot chocolate and the triple shot small latte tasted like warm milk with a hint of coffee. This place is best suited for people who prefer weak coffee. Did you know Rescate means Rescue? Now you do. Get in there and ask them why they've decided to name the spot Rescate. Then take in the atmosphere and some amazing coffee. I'm torn between the Mayan coffee's spicy flavor that reminds me of the coffee my grandmother made in my youth, and the kick that comes from the Vietnamese drip coffee, that forces you to wait about 5 minutes for the pour over to be ready. Then just stir into the condensed milk and pour over ice. You owe it to yourself to stop by at least twice. read more

This was the former Grace Coffee. Since I love Grace coffee I'm happy they didn't change much when they took over this place. Actually they revamp it more by having more desserts like cupcakes, croissants filled,apple critters and much more yummy sweets. I forgot to update my review after visiting here three times or so after the matcha latte fiasco. I have yet to try the iced match latte again, but all of their espresso and coffee-based drinks are still very much on par. The service is fantastic and accommodating and I still love the vibe the Rescate offers. It always feels like I've been transported to Lake Tahoe with all of the wooden furniture and the laid-back vibes. Also! This place is my go to coffee shop. I love coming here for to study/catch up on schoolwork, having a nice coffee date or when I'm have pastry cravings. I'm so lucky to have found a local coffee shop near my home (help out local businesses)!!!! This place is very welcoming and the staff is extremely nice. I usually see the owner there too, helping them out and checking up on customers. I'm in love with the interior design, they made it feel so homey. I love how they keep dog treats for the cute, furry friends. They also have a stack of board games if you parents decided to bring the little ones :) I used to be a coffee addict like coffee everyday sometimes twice a day. So trust me when I tell you that their drinks are very very good. Their white mocha, chai latte, white tuxedo, even just their regular coffee are amazing. This coffee is so good I find myself figuring out ways I can go that way which is not on my way to anywhere. Honestly, I hope they branch out and open another one somewhere else and get cupcakes that are good instead of the terrible ones they have. Cute Elk Grove coffee shop right off I-5, right next to the Arco. It was a little hard to find for me, so be careful to look carefully. Seems like a hip spot. Employees are super helpful and will guide you through the menu. They're very nice people and always give a good vibe. They have an optional range of milk substitutions which is a winner. A place to chill and enjoy a cup of coffee. Matcha green tea flavors aren't really that great. Sometimes the drinks can be a little too watered down, but it isn't too bad. Sometimes it's just perfect. A little inconsistent. The caramel macchiato is a safe order for me. Not too sweet, but also not bitter at all. read more

The 5-star is for the service! Excellent service, especially by Sara (sp?), who found my Burberry jacket on the patio chair. It wasn't the expensive jacket I was worried about. The location is not easy to get to but I ENCOURAGE everyone to make the effort to find #RescateCoffee I had the medium roast and it was so smooth I did not need to drown the coffee with cream and sugar. It is also nice to support our Elk Grove small business versus the mega chains that control EG. We both enjoyed having a cup of coffee and a breakfast burrito with my husband on this beautiful Friday morning. The place was busy but the owner and the staff were so happy and enthusiastic, providing an excellent customer experience. They made the effort to us and each person who walked in to say hello and engage in an conversation. I just moved back to town a few months ago, and this is my new favorite spot. Fast, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Tasty specialty drinks (who else makes a horchata latte?). And quality, local products (where else does this exist in Elk Grove?). I love coming here to study or work on writing. It's always clean, and the baristas are always warm and efficient. The lemonade is delightful, and the pastries I've tried are better than any of the chains around here. Food was great- had crossant breakfast sandwiches. Both prepared nicely and came up quick so we ate food warm. Vanilla Iced latte was great (and I am pretty picky about my espresso.) Searched for 'coffee roasters' convenient to I-5, after the hotel coffee fulfilled our low expectations. Ordered on their website and they texted confirmation right away. When we arrived and smelled their fantastic light roast whole beans we had to add a bag to the order. Breakfast croissants were fresh and crispy. Staff is attentive and friendly. I was excited to try Rescate because I heard they roast their own coffee beans. This is not the place to go if you want a good ol' cuppa joe. I got a medium roast drip coffee, but the coffee was very bitter and the undertones were indistinguishable. I regret not trying something Rescate is well-known for, like their white mocha, so maybe I'll give it another shot. On the other hand, I love the idea of Rescate, which donates a certain percent of your purchase if you buy a mug to an animal rescue center. The interior's friendly and gives a community vibe (is there such a thing??). me and my husband feel so lucky to have Rescate close to our house - the espresso taste is the best by far compared to trying a lot of others in Sacramento and even when we went up to Seattle this year we were missing our Rescate. I like that their Chai doesn't have artificial ingredients and they have lots of different milk options. I need to try some of their unique drinks but usually stick with a plain americano because it tastes so smooth. They usually have some Gluten Free items from Pushkins and my husband enjoys the breakfast burritos. This place is new so I decided to go and try it. I'm glad I did! I had their 16oz decaf coffee. When I arrived, their friendly staff welcomed me. They sell pastries and I was SOOO happy to see that they were selling Anthony's Cupcakes cupcakes! I had them before and they were the best!!! This place also has unlimited free wifi (unlike It's a Grind) and they roast their own coffee beans on site! Their black decaf coffee had tasty sweet tones of coffee in the beginning and a bold taste at the end. This place is worth stopping by. Looking for something "different," I appreciated the almost 5 stars on here, pictures on their web-site, the fact that the owner is so involved in animal rescue, When I arrived, it was smaller than I thought it would be. In fact there was only one table to sit at, unless you include the book nook with couch and two comfy chairs surrounding a coffee table. That's all. If everyone reading these reviews likes this place, they're going to have to expand. Luckily there was only one person sitting at the table, so my friend and I sat on the couch, with our coffee and delicious Ham and Cheese croissant. It is comfortable, has good vibes and I was impressed that their wall menu is actually on boards! The two young people were very friendly and welcoming. Yes, they do deliver to the table, albeit one item at a time. Unfortunately, they forgot my coffee which I had to go and ask for. At that point, they weren't sure I ordered it and since they didn't give me a receipt, I couldn't prove it. They did decide they were going to give me my coffee anyway and then asked if I'd like a free upgrade to large coffee, apparently for my trouble. I declined. I simply want what i order. I order a caramel macchiato, which I like sweetened with vanilla bean powder. they don't have vanilla bean powder, only the regular vanilla pumps. Also, I never received a "point card" as a customer mentioned they received one. They have a other specialty drinks and delicious looking pastries I would like to try next time. Service was great and really fast. Everyone was super friendly. I love Rescate! The fact that their location is next to the freeway, right on my way to work is so convenient. Plenty of parking, and when you walk up, you'll notice their outside patio area is super cute. The inside is cute and clean! Very insta-worthy. Through my various visits I've had the chance to try many drinks, and now that I stop in on my way to work, I've made it a point to try different things. So far, among other things, I've tried their caramel macchiato, vanilla latte, Horchata latte, Vietnamese coffee, and the cold brew, which were all really good! You may pay a little more than Starbucks, but it's seriously so worth the extra change. And, while their drinks may be a little more in price, everything in their bakery is very well-priced. I've mostly tried croissants and scones so far, but there are PLENTY of options. And, if that wasn't enough, the staff here is so great! I haven't learned too many names (yet) but I know Ladd! I am very disappointed. We ordered online for our 4 hot drinks and bagels and then waited for the email stating the order was ready. Even went online to "track" the order and the status never changed. After waiting 40 minutes to receive the message that our order was ready, I decided to come into the shop and see what's going on. Low and behold, there's the order sitting there on the table, ready, and very cold. Not only am I disappointed, but when I told the employee that was closest that we never got the confirmation, he said "oh sometimes the button just doesn't get pressed" or some bullshit. If your employees cannot conceive the brain power to operate an online ordering system, DO NOT HAVE THE ONLINE ORDER OPTION. Now I'm stuck with cold coffee and cold bagels. read more
