Though from time to time there's this guy Chris who while he doesn't shake it like a polorid picture he hits the spot. Curious though about the floating mustache that appears behind the bar. What a fun bar! Came across this place on a Saturday night and they had a DJ spinning hella great jams, happening disco lights and been back ever since. Super nice bartenders work here, none of the snobby kind that ignores you when you holla for a drink. Sitting by the bar feels really intimate. You can watch the bartenders work their magic. Jack is one of the bartender gem there. Watching him make cocktails is completely mesmerizing. He is such a pro and can whip up a perfectly coiffed drink of your choice. I had a very disappointing experience at the bar involving the general manager. I briefly stepped outside to take a phone call regarding personall matters . As I was ending the call I overheard that the person I went there he was 86ed as in kicked out , I explained that I would go get my friend so we could leave quietly and avoid any kind of scene. Instead, the general manager approached me and snatched the beer out of my hand like he was some kind of authority , despite the fact that I had already paid for it, and informed me that I was also being asked to leave Because I stepped out on the sidewalk to take a call also following this I was then told I needed to "earn" the drink, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional under the circumstances. I was trying to be respectful and cooperative, and the situation could have been handled calmly. Unfortunately, the way it was addressed left a very negative impression and makes it difficult to want to return or support the business. not even one star i think the gm mustache man was feeling like a folded in half lawn chair for having to work the Super Bowl or I feel like he targeted me after buying 4 drinks and tipping the guy 10 which comes out to 55$ total for cheap booz I will go somewhere else as I live nextdoor in a pent house I'll spread the word that that place is unethical in its manners btw what your gm did is assault and I will be touching bases with my family lawyer about the assault and humiliation pain suffering this is caused me this is the reason why I know don't like living or putting my money into local businesses in DTla read more

As a DTLA local, I love this bar. I would consider this my local watering hole and I love how they've improved upon the former Spring St Bar. The staff is great, attentive and charismatic--especially the one with the mustache. These guys are very knowledgeable on Japanese whiskies and tequilas. Wandered in because of the bomb music and cool art. Ordered two drinks at the bar with a very charismatic bartender who is nice to chat with throughout my time there. He never brought the check or asked if we wanted to leave a card on file. We were just having a good time, and at the end he asked if he could get us some more drinks that this lady at the end of the bar was trying to order us. He already asked us if he could get us another drink as well... indicating that it would be on the house. We denied both drinks, and were still confused as to whether he was going to give us the check for the drinks we did order. We watched as everyone else who he made drinks for he gave them a receipt immediately after. This went on for over an hour so we were pretty clear he did not plan to charge us. We said we were gonna head and he said bye with a warm smile and we walked out saying we were going to remember this place to come back to because of the dope vibe and the cool bartender. Fast forward we are about 30 feet down the road, and this older white guy with gray hair runs at us and scares us from behind saying that we didn't pay our tab. We were literally never given a tab and offered free drinks multiple times which we declined. This older guy with gray hair who chased us down the street was muttering weird things and said that something was wrong or off in the head of the bartender. I asked him what he meant because I found the bartender to be very nice and sound of mine, and he just kept saying rude and offensive stuff as he was perp walking us back to the bar. Mind you to bartender was Black and so am I... so I was really confused at the comments he was making and his treatment of me and my friend. I don't even think it's legal to chase after somebody, or at least best practices according to all my service industry experience. Quite unprofessional and embarrassing. If he knew the guy didn't charge us, why did he let us get all the way 5 bars down just to walk us back? To be clear, we had no issue paying our tab. We even usually leave a great tip as a rule. But the wack treatment by what seems like the "manager" really made this place cringey and sad. He even said "don't tell him (the bartender) I said that to you" in regards to either him being off in the head or/and paying our tab... like what? Do you want us to pay or not? How would we pay if you told us not to tell him you chased us down to make him charge us. And you can trust I shared what he said about his mental state of mind. I thought maybe I was crazy and somehow misread the situation, but then the bartender offered us free shots for the inconvenience. I literally said to him "do you really think he'll even let you do that considering he dragged us back here." He kinda looked down and was like you're right. What the hell is even going on here Unfortunately I didn't feel like they deserved a tip for the unnecessarily embarrassing experience they provided. Lastly, I don't know who that guy is or what his issue was but I do know I will NOT be recommending this place to my girls. Or to my guys for that matter. read more

I seriously cannot get enough of this bar. I was walking around trying to watch the World Series without the sports bar vibe, and I stumbled upon this place! They had the game but it wasn't intense and overstimulating. They open at 5, so I think thats why it wasn't too crowded. The vibe was so chill, and the crowd had had a mellow vibe. The drinks were amazing. I'm usually a tequila girly, but the melon drink and espresso martini had me sipping vodka. I went back again on Halloween and wow, what a night. The playlist was fire. The bar's new look is aesthetic and the music they play creates a perfect environment to unwind after a long week.
