This was my first time using these movers and I have moved five times since I've been in LA. I was a bit skeptical as I had always used a previous mover each time, but they were not available for my moving date, so I chose Respect Movers. Bob who handled my reservation was excellent and very friendly - he even reminded me to get a permit as I was moving to West Hollywood. And once booked, I received several text messages confirming my move date and time. I even called twice to make sure everything was confirmed and the lady was also very nice and respectful. On the day, the movers, Alex and Eric were AMAZING - they packed and moved all my stuff with ease and were very friendly. Eric even phoned me 1 hour before his arrival to confirm his attendance. It was so hot on the day, that I made sure that they both had coffee and food - which they both appreciated a lot. At the end of the move- Eric explained all the charges, and my final bill was very reasonable. I should caveat this review by pointing out that we boxed up about 85% of our things and all they had to do was haul it out to the truck. Also, this move is for a one bedroom. They wrapped up a few furniture items only because we told them not to wrap certain ones to cut down the work time. Esa and Sadi (I probably mispelled their names) showed up earlier than I expected. They were nice and worked diligently. Loading the truck took about 5-6 hours. Unloading took 1.5-2 hours. I supervised them the whole time and directed them to unload items in specific areas. They properly took apart and reassembled our bed and dining room table. Only negative remark is that they broke a standing mirror during the move but they compensated me appropriately for it. I was satisfied with the way they handled the situation. Their service price was not the least expensive but I feel it is about market value. read more

Made a call two weeks ago to secure a moving company. Found them on Yelp. I was a little skeptical of extra charges once you get into the move. They charge you for the double drive time, which everyone does. Only thing I missed was the charge for fuel over 15 miles. Unfortunately the charge took it out of their tip. Mike and Dima were awesome! They were friendly, willing to help with anything and fast. They filled 1/2 a big moving truck from Simi to Westlake in 3 hours, which is the minimum. Stay Away. This is DISRESPECT MOVERS We have booked this movers for a local moving from Canoga Park to Simi Valley, they sign the agreement and charged me $50 as deposit. And they gave us a time window of 2hrs (8am -10am) on the moving day. I have booked 4 men and a truck for $135/hr. They didn't show till 9:50am and I called them and they said they have no idea where the movers and truck are and said will call back in 10min. They called me back and said they cannot come because of some incident and they have no back up. This is ridiculous. They never gave me a second option or back up movers. I was suppose to give the house key on that day itself, I told them the situation but they never tried to help me. It's their responsibility to move my stuff on the day of booking , because they signed the agreement and I paid the deposit fee. The ridiculous experience I have ever had, and they dont care about their customers. If they are they will provide some back up or arrange something. Never go to this movers , STAY AWAY. They never called us back and apologize on their mistake or error happened. Friends, find some other movers and do your moving on time. read more

I requested quotes on yelp and Bob responded right away and was great. I paid the deposit and hired them. The morning of the move the movers arrived on time. I got Alex and Manuel. Manuel was FANTASTIC Alex on the other hand was rude and refused to listen. First, I purposely put everything upstairs and told him don't go downstairs he decides he's going anyway and destroys the new carpet. Then he insisted I purchase cardboard for my tv's or else he wouldn't move them, I had to call his boss because why should I be forced to buy something I don't want. Then I told him he left a tv upstairs he kept telling me he got it until we got to the new place and realized he left the other tv. Then as I was told by Bob they will assemble as I tell him to assemble the box spring he says they have another move and can't and wants to get paid. I told him he had another 20 minutes until it marked an hour he said no he charges by each 15 minutes. Then had the nerve to tell me he has to tack on the breaks and lunches he didn't take and wanted me to pay for those. I showed him Bobs message saying I wasn't required to pay for that but then he tried to tell me about CA law. Apparently I should've advised him from the beginning how well aware of CA law I am. Finally I pay him and he wants me to sign a paper saying nothing was damaged but doesn't want me to check if anything is damaged. Alex made my move a nightmare. Really unfortunate. Respect movers should make Manuel the one in charge not vis versa. Would never recommend this company SOLEY because of Alex! read more

I will start this review by saying that the company that moved me went by the name of "mover van lines" and the "DBA Respect movers" never came up until I went to file a claim for the theft and damage that occured. Second, if I could give them zero stars, I would. sorry for long review. I recently moved from arizona to maryland (like 2 weeks ago). The initial company I paid my deposit to (I paid them almost $7,000 in total) was nationwide. I had no idea that mover van lines would be moving me until they picked up my things on 4/4. During pick up day, the movers were nice, nothing special. I did notice that they were only wrapping my things in paper and were not using any of the blue moving blankets. They took my things and left a huge mess behind....Torn up paper everywhere, they dumped over my grill and left grease and charcoal stains all over my patio and they took things I told them not to take...whatever. I had no way to contact them to find out about the approx arrival date of my things (when I called, they never answered, they never called back. I made no less than 50 calls. This went on for 5 days until I threatened to call the cops for theft. Then I got a call and was then told that my things were sitting in a warehouse in nevada and i would be notified when they were on the way. They didnt leave until 4/12, 8 days after they picked up. Again, i got no updates and was just told they would call 24 hours before. So, on the night of the 4/18 (16 days after pick up), they said they would be there the next morning. when they arrived, they were in a rental truck (no company name) and there were 3 young guys, two that spoke zero english and one that only spoke broken english. They demanded payment before opening the truck (cash or money order ONLY). They were definitely NOT professional movers. As things were coming off the truck, the paper wrapping my good furniture was completely ripped up, boxes had been opened and retaped with brown tape (my tape was clear) and there was damage to almost every piece of furniture (im happy to provide pictures to anyone that that reads this and wants proof). Among other things, they broke the corner off my solid wood dining table and put a huge scratch on the top of it, they broke one of my TV's, they broke my front door as they were bringing things in, they scratched the crap out of my wood floors due to dragging things across the floor and when they put my platform beds back together they were so careless, that they broke slats, they put one of the slats upside down so a nail was sticking up and put a huge tear in my i-comfort king mattress (a $2500 mattress). I'm leaving a lot out, you get the idea. Then, as I was opening one of the boxes that they had clearly opened and retaped. Inside that box was a large ceramic platter from mexico that was a going away gift and some other display pieces. The inside of the box was soaking wet and all that was left was a piece of the platter that obviously broke and everything else was gone. I could go on and on. I will end with saying WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE, MOVER VAN LINES, RESPECT MOVERS OR WHATEVER THEIR NAME IS. They will ruin all your things, they will open your boxes and steal from you. The whole process was really easy, with scheduling and initial deposit done by internet. Their price quote was competitive. I can see why they get great reviews. They were on time at the pickup site, and very quick to wrap and load the furniture, and friendly. The job took less than 2 hours end to end. If I could I give this company more stars I would. I was quite nervous as I have had the same movers for 10 years and now had to look for new movers. I decided on Respect Movers. I was not disappointed in the least. The guys were on time and ready to go. I had originally only asked for just the big stuff but they were willing to box and move all the loose little stuff. There was a lot. Yuriy, Bahtiar and Dinua went to work and never stopped. They only stopped and took a short 15 minute break which they respectfully asked first. They were extra careful with all of our furniture ensuring everything was wrapped and had blankets. A few of our items needed to be taken apart for safe transport and the guys went to town and didn't even blink an eye. They guys were quick, efficient and respectable. Never dawdled and were always working with me to find ways to keep costs down. Once we were at our new place the unloading went so quick and were very accommodating with last minute request such as a couch going into a very small room. They figured it out and made our day.
