Always a favorite when we go to PV. Alberto again was the best server imaginable. There was live music which was wonderful. We weren't rushed and we took our time enjoying the escargot and guacamole starters and going on the roof to see the views. Both starters were great. The complimentary chips and salsa are also great. So incredibly disappointed. This has always been a favourite spot with amazing service and coupled with the view and good food. It was a pleasure to go there. That all changed this past week where I felt I had arrived at the wrong place. The table wasn't even properly set and we had to ask for napkins. Food that was originally prepared. Tableside was sat down in front of us on a plate. The servers didn't seem to have any idea what they were supposed to be doing. The food was less than OK. There was no music just a radio with occasional chatter from announcements. The only positive point was the view. All the regular servers from before were gone and I have no idea what has happened, but I will not be returning. read more

Once you get to the top of the hill and the restaurant, you'll be set. Large open dinning room with windows along all the walls. You can see PVR in 360 degrees. Had such a lovely evening here! Got a taxi from our hotel, which was about 10 min. We were greeted downstairs and told to go up to the 7th floor. When we got to the top floor, it was pretty quiet and not yet busy. We sat down at a gorgeous table right in the corner overlooking downtown PV. We ordered the Margot the day- passion fruit and orange juice and it was delicious! We couldn't stop staring out at the gorgeous views of the ocean and the city! We got the chateau Briand, lobster, calamari, and ended with the amaretto dessert. My favorite was the chateau Briand- the veggies were seasoned perfectly and those mushrooms, wow! The beef was incredible and prepared table side with a fire and saucepan. And wowoowwww HIGHLY recommend the *amaretto dessert* it was almondy and just the right amounts of sweet! And the service was INCREDIBLE- the staff was so kind and welcoming too! Also, there was a great singer this evening who sang a bunch of classics and it added to the beautiful vibe. I've been coming here since the 90's. Tonight I took friends there, excited to take them to this place with the view and meals. Been quite a few years since I was last here and was very disappointed. From the moment we walked in at 8:30pm on a Saturday evening, seeing only a half a dozen tables occupied, the warning flag was up. The service people were wonderful but the food, that was really disappointing. Started with a Caesar Salad, that was just ok, but the bread was not fresh at all. A couple of us ordered a Chateaubriand. I could not believe how plain and bland it was, HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! I was also amazed how the serving was quite small as well. Nonetheless, we did not even finish it. I have no idea how this place has gone so downhill! How they could serve this low quality meat was just amazing! The 3rd person in our party had Salmon, was ok at best. Their prices are not cheap, but the food quality sure was, I'm sure i will not be back. Was a huge disappointment and embarrassment. Well...I am absolutely disheartened with our experience. Although the menu was interesting, what appeared before us was terrible. My potatoes and veggies were somewhere between warm and cold. My medium rare steak was well done. No hint of pink even in the center. The waiter moved at a sloths pace. We asked for water twice, requested a 2nd cocktail twice. Although the view was beautiful, the loud "club" music detracted from our ability to talk and enjoy interaction. It wasn't this way 5 years ago. Save yourself the disappointment, go for a cocktail, enjoy the view, then move on. However, the required cab ride (u cannot walk here) may make the trip not worth it for you. Some of the reviewers don't get this place. If you understand what a "full service" 1950s style SupperClub is - then you are in for a magical treat. Service is superb- our guest dropped their napkin and seconds before he could reach for it a new one was handed to him. Order the Caesar Salad - they make the dressing table side ! Great bar menu - over the top white table cloth service. Amazing steaks and seafoods. Some items on the menu are made table side - what a show! This is a place that made history as the first restaurant in the top floor of a building in Puerto Vallarta. Went here to have dinner with some friends and the food, service and view were nothing short of spectacular. My wife and I shared the Chateaubriand. Tender, seasoned well with a tasty Bearnaise sauce, some veggies on the side and a basket of toasted garlic bread. We had Sangria which was fine although not so inspired, wine and limeade. One of our friends had the house special shrimp and raved about it, our other friend went for the shrimp wrapped with cheese and bacon, also a big hit. We finished the night with a couple of their featured desserts, the wife and I shared the strawberry in their secret sauce over ice cream, our friends the bananas, also in their special sauce over ice cream. Both the main course and the desserts were cooked, flambe style at the table . We had a reservation just before sunset and the view from the 9th floor was only rivaled by the view from the roof top bar. The prices were very good for the quality of food and service we enjoyed. I found El Panorama online when I searched restaurants with a view. My husband and I are on vacation so we decided to try this place. I made a reservation and when we arrived it was quiet. The view is amazing the service was great too and the food was delicious. I recommend this place without a doubt. Thay make a lot of food in front of you including the Cesar salad which was so good. We had shrimp, the fresh catch of the day and it was all fresh and cooked to perfection. We will be going back. read more

I get it, it's been there for a long time, but come on! Seriously! The food was less than mediocre, the ribeye steak was not top quality and the way it was cooked was a disaster! Can't even tell how it was cooked!! The steak had 1 RAW asparagus placed on top as garnishment? Huh? The salsa was tasty. But after we finished dinner, that was it, we had enough of this nostalgic old place! The one good thing I can say was that it had great views, and that's about it!! If you're looking for a good place to have good tasty food, this is definitely NOT your place! I wouldn't waste my time at this place! We had an excellent dinner at El Panorama last night. It is a bit hard to get to up in the hills, but that's what makes the view so worthwhile. The service was top notch and they make a show out of dinner by preparing many of your meals tableside. There's live music every night which adds to the entire dining experience. The prices are reasonable and the food was excellent. My only criticism is that I would like to see a vegetarian entree option on their menu. I highly recommend El Panorama for a dining experience that you will not forget. read more

I don't know what all the hype is about, but it was not that great, the elevator was broken so we had to climb seven sets of stairs, we had a new waiter. Maybe that's the reason for some of these issues, he told me nothing came with my salmon, so I ordered a side, and then when my dinner came, there was not my side there, and it came with rice and vegetables. The view was good. For the price of these meals I don't think I'll be coming back,better food in old town. my salmon was OK, and the mushroom soup was OK as well, my husband ordered lobster and he got a huge full lobster cut in half , but not out of the shelf read more

Got there and it was our kind of place. Old, kind of hidden, take an old elevator up to a majestic view restaurant. Yes our anniversary gamble was paying off. The service was spot on, and the ocean air was cooling us as we sipped our martini. Then the food came and it looked incredible. So far perfect anniversary. Then we tried to eat the lobster. Pure rubber and inedible. Shrimp was so overcooked had the burnt aftertaste. I live in rural USA and never return food. Paid the $150usd bill with %20 tip. Everyone has an off nite. Not a single server was wearing a mask. You'd think with omicron there would be more of a precaution taken. This is the only restaurant in PV we visited where the servers were all maskless. That should not be allowed so long as COVID is active. Moreover, the elevator safety sensor was not working. If you want a romantic location with a beautiful view and away from all the tourist, then come to this place. Panorama is a hidden gem. And like most gyms, it may be hard to find. Don't worry though. If your taxi driver can't find it, he'll pull over and ask other taxi drivers around the area. Panorama is located on the 7th floor of the Siesta Hotel. During the high season, I recommend to book a reservation to be on the safe side. If you want to see the ocean sunset, then DEFINITELY make a reservation and get there EARLY. My visit was in mid- December, so it was pretty dead which worked in our favor. According to our host, February to March are their busiest months. Food: Throughout my 6 day vacation in Puerto Vallarta, I had the absolutely best dinner at this location. I wish I could remember what I had, but I know it was outstanding and a sigh of relief from all the so and so food I had from other restaurants. The desert was our favorite. It was literally a fire show followed by sweet goodness down the hatch. Hospitality: Thumbs up all the way in this area. Our host and servers were charming and catering, but they also knew when to keep their distance so we could have our romantic moments. Our servers were extremely entertaining and even allowed me to do a bit of cooking at the table (more so for the purpose of pictures). Speaking of pictures, they have a staff member that will take amazing pictures of you or your group. She'll come around at the end of your dinner and present them to you...at a cost of course. Pros Everyone was very attentive and had great recommendations for food options. The sexxy coffee is a must not just for the coffee but the spectacular show they put on to make the coffee. Cons They ran out of the duck, which they had recommended, so we went with the garlic steak. Both the garlic steak and the bacon wrapped steak were nothing exceptional. My husband and I made a dinner reservation here for NYE. Best decision ever! It is in the 7th floor of a hotel. We had amazing service by our waiter Bruno & other waitstaff. We were seated in a quiet corner with a great view. They had a special menu for NYE. We should've taken advantage of the complimentary/ included "welcome margarita," but that just not my cocktail...Bruno gave us time to review the menu and enjoy our alone time away from our children. We enjoyed the view while sipping on our cocktails: lemon drop & martini. Round 2 was even better, as my martini glass was sugar rolled. We ordered the kristy salad, panorama shrimp & pepper steak. Everything was delicious. I'm gluten free and enjoyed the steak. The garlic bread smelled amazing! My husband enjoyed the sexy coffee. It was a great show. We have gone to panorama many times over 10 years. Tonight we had horrible service with waiters not asking for drink orders, appetizers or taking care of our needs. One appetizer needed to be sent back, 3 meals were not edible due to cooking ( under cooked salmon twice , over cooked lobster and mango sauce with Mahi that was way to spicy). I and one other person ordered the mussels and they were really fishy tasting. We did get credited for them but we were disappointed. I've eaten here several times and the food and service are quite good. However, the last two times I've eaten there they have a gentleman singer that sings along with pre-recorded tracks. The music is way too loud for the space but having to listen to him has been very painful. He sings in a very high pitched register; for which he is unable to reach the right pitch must of the time. Amazing food and experience from beginning to end. We got there when the place opened, so we were the first ones there. The host (blonde guy) was super nice, making us feel welcome. He recommended that we went upstairs for a better view of Puerto Vallarta, the sun was setting and it was beautiful. He made a side table Caesar salad for us, then we had tuna and a chicken plate. We always start with a Cadillac Margarita and they come to the table with the bottle of Grand Marnier and free pour it into your drink - let me tell you they make a strong drink! We had a very nice Caesar Salad prepared table side - you can specify if you don't want the anchovies but why would you? I wanted some spicy shrimp something like Shrimp Diablo but not as hot but there was nothing like that one the menu. They said no problem and brought me a delightful dish of LARGE shrimp that had just the right amount of spice. My husband had the catch of the day over spinach and he enjoyed it very much! They have good Salsa but don't eat too many as their desserts are very good. The restaurant was built in the 70's and it looks it. Very clean but the decor is dated. We went here for a beautiful Christmas Eve dinner, expecting to enjoy a wonderful meal with a gorgeous view of the city. For starters, when all of us ordered drinks (9) only 6 came out. They forgot three drinks. The martinis weren't iced cold and the old fashioned's were subpar. When we ordered appetizers, they ran out of caesar salad. 6 of us ordered soups, 5 came out cold and had to be sent back. The bread was stale. One of the salads ordered was the spinach salad. It was missing the mushrooms and bacon. For the main course, the filet mignon was cooked right but came out salty and the mashed potatoes were cold. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here last night. We arrived at 8pm and only saw the tail end of the sunset, but arriving around 7 or 730 would be the best time for an amazing view of the sunset! There are panoramic views of the ocean as well as the Rainforest! We were able to enjoy the fireworks over the water from our table. The El Panorama shrimp was delicious, and they prepare it table side! I also suggest you order the Sexxi Coffee and the bananas borscht which were both made table side as well! The chef was so sweet and kind! Pele, the bartender made wonderful martinis! As well s many other drinks! The setting was beautiful! The customer service was amazing! We would recommend this beautiful restaurant to everyone! It will be a great memory for us and we will come back every time we are in Puerto Vallarta!! read more

Absolutely fabulous! We came off season & they did everything they could to please us! The Oysters Rockefeller was very good & the beef with bernais sauce was excellent. The views are fabulous to see the local architecture - tile roofs & pools & domes & cathedral & stairs for everyone up the hike up the hill like my beautiful San Francisco. This is a "must do" restaurant when visiting Puerto Vallarta. It is inside a small, old hotel. You take the elevator up to the top floor where a beautiful restaurant awaits you with the most incredible views of Puerto Vallarta. Now usually someplace with great views doesn't need great food or service, but El Panorama delivers all three! The food was amazing! Many dishes they prepare at your table for you! The people who work there are wonderful and service impeccable! We were a group of 4 middle aged couples and everyone was so impressed with the restaurant. There is a musician that plays beautiful old melodies on a portable piano while you eat. Definitely get the dessert! Especially the sexy coffee and the bananas flambe prepared at your table!
