Chilaquiles verdes w egg & beans

If I could give this place ten stars I would! The food is SO GOOD. It tastes like my grandma or tias cooked it up at their house. Seriously delicious. Not to mention, they are so nice, like genuine Mexican hospitality. I'll def be back!!! I got the hot chocolate w milk, chilaquiles verdes, a pumpkin flower quesadilla w handmade tortilla, and an agua fresca that was to die for! The location is also next to a Chevron so it was great bc I was traveling. It's spacious enough to always find seating I think.

    Smallest size of $7 quac.

Not to sure about this place. AC works but it looked like no one was running this place. Took forever for someone to even come take our order. The food was just okay. I paid $7 for this small side of guacamole. Maybe they were just having an off day, I might give it one more try.

This place was recommended to us so we gave it a try. Been here twice already and the following is what we've tried so far. Chips with nopale dip- 4.5 stars- chips was really good! Nopales was fresh and had a good crunch. Chicken mole- 4 stars- mole sauce is good but chicken portion is quite small, it came with white rice which was tasty and handmade tortilla (3 pcs) additional $1.75 Chilaquiles with salsa verde-3.5 stars- sauce was overwhelmingly drowning the tortilla, the eggs were good but that's about it for this dish. Enchiladas de tomatillo asado- 2 stars- I ordered with chicken and came with white rice, black beans and a small piece of carne. The enchiladas were mediocre and the sauce was just way too much. I prefer my enchiladas on the drier side. Not ordering this again. Tasajo al gusto- 4 stars- good amount food and very tasty! The meat was sautéed with onions, jalapeño and your choice of cactus OR mushrooms. We opted to have both and that's with additional $4. Horchata- 2 stars- I did not like this version at all. It had diced up cantaloupe, tuna fruits and chopped walnuts. It was very watered down. Will still go back to try other dishes.

Pretty bad place. Ordered pollo tacos and chicken tamales. Both were bad. Tacos were dried and flavorless. Tamales hardly had any meat and it was still frozen in the center. I had to ask them to reheat it. Just to top it off. Service...what's service. As customers walking in and nobody cared to greet them, although Business was dead. A little awkward. They had this loud Mexican movie on the television. Instead of serving customers, one f them was watching it intensely as though she was really into it. I guess watching a movie at work is much more fun than work itself. Décors wise, nothing changed since the previous Chinese fast-food restaurant closed down. In fact, worse condition as there isn't anything but tables and chairs. Only good thing is their horrible tacos are cheap ($1.49).

Discovered this place about a year ago with my fiance. So far I haven't had a bad meal here yet. The food is delicious, and if you go on a weekday morning they have cheap breakfasts that come with a coffee or a drink. My go to for the morning breakfast is the huevos con chorizo. It comes with beans and rice and tortillas (always opt for the hand made). I also love to get their carne asada quesadilla, the Tlayuda is delicious, and their standard tacos are good. Also of you love a spicy salsa go for the red salsa here it burns and tastes amazing.

My fiancé and I come to this place often and it has never disappointed us. Their carne asada quesadillas are my favorite. They use delicious Oaxaca cheese and handmade tortillas for them. During the weekdays they offer cheap breakfast including a drink. It has a very homemade taste and reminds me of my moms cooking. If you are looking for authentic mexican food this is a great place to try.

Molotes come in 3 and are served with lettuce.

We were stoked about trying this place because we absolutely love Oaxacan food. Sadly, we were miserably disappointed and the only thing good about this place were the molotes. In brief, bad service, TV drama on full blast (we have kiddos), and the food was sooo hit/miss. Never returning here, sadly. I'll start with the food. Tamal Oaxaqueño: even before we unwrapped it, we could tell it looked old or overcooked. Gave it the benefit of the doubt and opened then tried it. Judge for yourself from the picture...the masa was super dry and cracking. My hubby had one bite, I had another and we couldn't eat more. Tacos de asada and pollo: these were decent. The chicken is red but not spicy and it was just ok. The asada was mild in flavor. They're served on 2 corn tortillas. Molotes: These deep-fried chorizo and potato stuffed goodies are always my favorite at Oaxacan places. Here, they were the only thing tasty, although they're not the best I've had. The guacamole sauce on top had a hint of spiciness to it. Cafe de olla: sooo watered down and barely sweet (in case you've never had it, it's typically pre-sweetened with sugar cane). Jamaica: on point. We actually ordered prepared horchata which is usually a signature drink for Oaxacan restaurants. Waitress said they were out and that she would make more but that it would take too long. Service: Please bring your patience game if you come. We were here on a Friday after lunch. There was only one other table with people and the waitress really took her time. We had to get up to ask for a spoon (no biggy), but even after making eye contact, we had to get up to pay our check. I told our waitress about the dry tamal and she said "that's just how they are." I tried to explain we've had them many times before but she was very dismissive and assured me people even order them by the dozen and never once apologized or tried to make it better. i asked when the tamal was made and she said on Wednesday (we went that Friday). She even said I should have said something before, if I didn't want to be charged AFTER I paid my check. I didn't want a freebie (even though it was warranted). When we had asked her to change the channel because the TV was so loud with yelling form the novela, she said she had to check because other channels were worse. Really? She only lowered the volume. Also, no restrooms. Once again on the search for a great Oaxacan place with at least average customer service lol. If you know of one, let me know please!!

    I totally recommend this place

Just come in and check it out for yourself; the attendant explain all the menu with patience and that's a plus for me

    the menu

The restaurant is small and the staff is friendly. The food is delicious and authentic.

Getting billed for the 2 chilaquile plates that were returned to the kitchen

I don't know where to start. We went on a Sunday and the place was empty, when we sat down my mother was trying to make a conversation to the waitress and she was short and gave her attitude. So we just ordered the food and she had an unpleasant attitude when giving us the food. We ordered chilaquiles and the green sauce was bitter. We told the waitress about the issue and she gave us so much attitude. We end up ordering memelitas and the beans had no flavor. We waited for the waitress to come and refill our coffee and she didn't. When we paid we asked for a copy of our receipt and we saw that she billed us for the 2 plates we returned. We will never go back again due to horrible customer service & quality of food.

Savory and satisfying chili relleno platter and chicken mole platter with extra $ order of handmade corn tortillas.

I used to work here years ago so I know how much care goes into the food & drinks. The Puesto Perfect Margarita is still my favorite margarita I've ever had. Everything is made fresh & you can absolutely taste the difference. I always order mine with a sugar rim. It's consistently refreshing, balanced & incredibly smooth. We stopped by on a Monday around 4:30 p.m. just before happy hour ended. It was nice & relaxed when we arrived. It only started getting a little busier as we were leaving. We took advantage of happy hour & ordered a few favorites. The potato taquitos have been one of my go-to menu items for years & are just as delicious as I remembered. Crispy on the outside, flavorful inside & served over a generous bed of fresh guacamole that makes every bite even better. We also tried one of the newer happy hour items the short rib mini burrito served with a green sauce. Both my husband & I really enjoyed it. The short rib was tender & the sauce added the perfect amount of brightness. I was happily snacking on the chips with the molcajete salsa. It's one of my favorite restaurant salsas. I also love the chips with Puesto Perfect guacamole. It makes it hard to stop eating. Since it was my birthday I treated myself to a Tropical Candy Shot. If you like bold flavors definitely order one. It reminded me of a Mexican street candy in shot form with a Tajín rim & a pineapple garnish. It was festive, flavorful & the perfect birthday treat. The sweetest surprise of the evening was the complimentary birthday dessert. A slice of pistachio tres leches cake. I love tres leches but I've never had a pistachio version before. It was incredibly moist & rich without being too heavy. The pistachios added the perfect crunch & nutty flavor. It was one of the highlights of the meal. One small detail I always appreciate is that they bring a pitcher of water to the table. This makes it easy to refill your glass throughout the meal without waiting. It's a thoughtful touch that makes the dining experience feel more comfortable. I'm so glad we came back after not visiting for quite a while. I love the consistently amazing margaritas, delicious happy hour menu, & warm hospitality. The thoughtful birthday surprise made it even better. It was a wonderful way to celebrate. I'll definitely be back! If you're visiting for the first time do yourself a favor & order the Puesto Perfect Margarita & potato taquitos. Also save room for the pistachio tres leches if it's available.

Parking is a bit sparse, but there's residential spots available next door and within walking distance (as well as my favorite romance bookstore, Heartbound Bookshop). The agua de melón was delicious, and the side of beans was excellent. We also ordered a plain quesadilla, and it was surprisingly really good. The menudo itself was just okay--not bad, but nothing special. The reason I'm giving 2 stars isn't because the staff were rude, but they definitely weren't friendly or welcoming. My biggest concern, however, was what I witnessed with the condiments. When you order menudo, they bring a plate with limes, onions, and chili. I watched two employees clear tables, throw away some items, but keep the unused onions and uncut lime wedges from customers' plates and take them back into the kitchen to be served again. Even if I didn't use all of the onions or limes, that doesn't mean I didn't touch them. Reusing food that has already been on a customer's table is unsanitary and unacceptable. After seeing that, it made me wonder whether other items, like leftover chips, might also be reused. Whether or not that's the case, what I witnessed was enough to make me lose confidence in their food handling practices. Unfortunately, I won't be returning

Came in for a little date night on a Saturday evening. The whole staff was friendly and accommodating, always quick to refill drinks or clear empty plates. We started off with some delicious and spicy oysters which were topped with a shrimp! We also had to try the Chori-brussels which are flash fried Brussels sprouts with chorizo, balsamic reduction, and Oaxacan cheese. For drinks we got a Santo Dia, a whiskey based cocktail with watermelon, lime, and fizz served over ice. We also ordered the Spicy margarita which had watermelon habanero, lime, and hibiscus flavors. They were both delicious and refreshing, the spicy marg had a good kick to it. For dinner we got a caesar salad, the ribeye plate, and the Urbana burger. We both loved the dressing on the caesar, it's made in house and it shows. The ribeye was cooked perfectly with a delicious herb butter on top, a really good steak sauce on the side, and thick cut fries. The ribeye wasn't the highest quality but it tasted good, the fries were perfect. My fiancé got the burger which had chorizo, melted queso Oaxaca, and an egg on top. Not gonna lie it was absolutely delish! I want to come back just for the burger. All in all we had a great time and I would definitely come back for some other menu items, especially to try more of their margs and specialty cocktails. Thanks Urbana!
