A small El Salvador restaurant in Concord. First time here service wasn't friendly. Food was very tasty but service was bad. Will not return for sure.

It's a hidden gem with a spacious dining area and a laid-back vibe. Just walk in, grab a menu, and find a seat. Their menu has a lot of variety; I tried the queso con chicharrón, and yuca fries with chicharrón, and a Sprite.

Wow - so happy to have a Salvadorian restaurant nearby. We came for pupusas and they were great. The slaw and sauce were great. I have had quite a few pupusas and these rank pretty high. The real revelation was the chicken tamales. The flavor was amazing. This makes me want to try other things on the menu. Lots of orders to go, but plenty of places to sit.

I ordered DoorDash for my husband and I for dinner and was pretty impressed by the taste of the food. I was surprised about the negative reviews I saw on Yelp, so I figured I'd chime in. I am new to Concord and usually eat Salvadoran food from Hayward. The food is delicious and comparable to the places I've eaten. I ordered the pescado frita, yucca con chicharon, corn tamales and pupusas. Everything was delicious. The rice was one of the best rice I've tasted! It seems like they use a short grain rice that was a bit stickier than normal. The food was well seasoned and all of it arrived fresh and nicely packaged. Not sure if the complaints are mostly about the service, but the food is very tasty. I will definitely order from here again. Forgot to mention, they also have RICE pupusas. Those are pretty hard to find!!! I only took a pic of my pescado, since my baby was crying and refused to let me enjoy my food! Anyway, you should give this place a try! My Salvadoran husband really enjoyed his pupusas and the other dishes.

I have been coming here for many years, and the food has always been great. My go to has always been their pupusas. They never disappoint.

The food I've had there is good but the cheese pupusas are way too greasy. Everything else has been good.

As I entered, I eyed Cholita Linda, and since we had already eaten at the place near us, I knew what we wanted and would enjoy for our late lunch or early dinner... a Cubano! For those who might not know, a traditional Cubano sandwich is made with Cuban bread (a white bread loaf with a thin, crispy crust and a soft, airy inside. Usually, a moist palmetto leaf is placed on top of the dough before baking to create its signature split), Mojo-marinated roasted pork (slow-roasted in a marinade made of sour orange juice, garlic, oregano, and cumin), glazed ham (sweet, deli-style sliced ham), Swiss cheese, dill pickles, and yellow mustard. Of course, here in the US, the recipe is adjusted based on the location and available ingredients, but the core stays the same, which makes for a delicious sandwich. Cholita Linda's Cubano is made with pulled pork shoulder, black forest ham, mustard, pickles, aioli, and Swiss cheese on grilled French bread. Trust me when I tell you that it is a delicious version! Anyway, this location is very well managed and maintained. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and nicely kept. They have tables inside and outside the mall. On a warm day, you might prefer to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air while you eat.

I came here for the Oakland Friday Off the Grid event and liked it. The potatoes were a winner,…read morethey tasted good. But the other stuff was a bit meh... The salad was ok as well, but I didn't like all of the cheese on top and the dressing was freshly made. I like melted cheese and for it to be melted, it needs to be hot. I could have had a little less on my salad because I was eating it for the veggies. I got an arepa - the pork belly one and it was okay as well. The beans were a touch cold, not an issue, and the avocado was fresh and tasted good. I don't like tomatoes, but the slices were thick and juicy. My husband enjoyed them. My thing is that there was no "WOW" factor with this meal. It was good and did its job (filled me up0, and I was safe (didn't get sick), but it's not the kind of place that I'd make a special trip to see. The place was fine, the people working there were nice, but I don't know if a return visit is warranted.

This review is for their food truck at Pleasant Hill BART…read more I stopped by on my lunch break earlier this week but wasn't sure what to order. They recommended the pork belly arepa ($17) but I am no longer enjoying the fatty and crisp textures of pork belly, so I asked the lady who'd confidently ordered just before me for her recommendation. "Get the cheese cachapa, it's delicious and filling," she said. So I did, but I got one with shredded beef instead of cheese-only ($15). My cachapa - a Venezuelan sweet corn pancake filled with melted cheese - took about 10 mins to prepare, and it was thick and huuuuge! I changed my mind about eating it al fresco at one of the tables near the food truck, and took it back to the office instead. Back at the office, I ate the cachapa slowly, with the plastic fork and knife they'd thoughtfully provided. There wasn't much beef in it, and it was crisp, sweet and verrrrry filling. I made myself some coffee to sidestep the food coma that was sure to follow, and got back to work! Will return to try other items when they're back.
