Was visiting from our of town and stopped in to Revolucion for a refreshing drink. Food: when I saw an Ube latte, I had to try it. As a Filipino, I've found that most places do Ube wrong. However, Revolucion got it right! This wasn't your typical, overly sweetened syrup latte. You could taste the true rich, nutty Ube flavor. It was delicious. Service: everyone at the counter was nice and friendly. Ambiance: this is such a beautiful spot for working remotely or coming with friends. There are tons of seats, many of which have outlets to put into. Value: the coffee is great quality and worth it! read more

We just landed in Austin yesterday and already found a favorite spot. My husband and I wanted something on the healthier side this morning, but still filling and tasty, after a day prior of lots of grubbing. Revolucion was exactly what we were looking for. We split their breakfast burrito and one of the more filling smoothies. Hands down the best breakfast burrito we've ever had. The ingredients were so fresh and practically melted in my mouth. The house made hot sauces were the perfect touch to go with it. The smoothie was unlike any smoothie I've ever had. You could taste house fresh the ingredients were. These 2 items hit the spot better than I could have hoped for. When we finished eating, we decided to get a couple of fresh made juices to go which we will look forward to trying in the morning. We are definitely going to make our way back this trip to try some of their selection of breakfast tacos and toasts. I wish we had something like this in our neck of the woods. I'd be there on the regular. Truly one of the best spots I've been to in a long time. The service/staff were also very friendly and helpful when asking for recommendations on juices and smoothies. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed!!! Upon entering you feel welcome and then a little confused what to order because there are so many great choices!!! Lol I went with ACA blue. Made with Blue Majik (spirilina) to help with stress, fight inflammation and reduce oxidative stress + Ceremonial Grade Matcha to increase energy and support the immune system with oat milk. Great hours, great space, great coffee. The coffee is nice and strong, but not overly strong to the point where you're having a caffeine-induced heart attack. Healthy additions can be added, and I was recommended the Aca Blue, a spirulina matcha drink. It was interesting in a good way, and I can see myself coming back just for the coffee. The space itself is trendy with great seating, outlets, and windows. The noise level is perfect for studying with a friend. It has only been here for around 9 months in an attractive part of downtown, but it's definitely going to be a new staple of mine from now on! read more

Stopped by Revolucion on a Saturday morning since I was in the area. The inside is very cute and spacious, making it a nice place to hang out or do some work. I ordered an iced latte with their honey lavender syrup. You definitely taste a hint of the honey in there which I actually quite like. Their espresso is strong and intense which I really enjoyed. I had their cappuccino and chagaccino and both were great. It was my first time having chagaccino and really enjoyed the flavor mixed with the espresso and who doesn't like the extra health benefit. read more

I came here for the first time in August on a work trip and knew I needed to come back. The location is downtown, lots of open seating and decorated minimally but perfectly. Came here twice during my 5-day conference in Austin, and I'm already wishing I could eat here daily. This is definitely the worst acai bowl I've ever had in my entire life. The plating is beautiful but the actual smoothie didn't have any flavor to it. I had to take bites with fruit in order to add some sort of flavor to the smoothie, but eventually I ran out of fruit. I really don't know how they made the actual smoothie but it was disappointing. I wouldn't come back and order again. read more

Hidden gem!!!! My office has recently decided to do a café crawl of all the shops in our area to find the best coffee. Revolución is already a top contender! This spot is at the corner of San Jac and 3rd - across 3rd from Vince Young Steakhouse. They have street parking right outside. The space is bright and airy, with music playing not too loud and lots of spaces to sit and work. They've got a pretty big menu of coffee, tea, juices, smoothies, and food, with a focus on fresh, organic, locally sourced ingredients and plenty of options to suit all diets. They serve the breakfast items all day, too. I'll definitely be back to check out that breakfast burrito I ordered the Mayan mocha and it was delicious! Don't be scared of the cayenne- the barista told me they only use one Tbsp per gallon, so you won't be blown away by the heat. I really enjoyed the spices and flavor the mocha added to the drink. It was about $7, so a little pricey, but what else can ya expect from a bougie café in the heart of downtown. read more

San Antonio-based Revolucion opens its Austin location and they did good! Such a great minimalist aesthetic, and an inviting large space. A good spot for coworking as the walls are lined with outlets and big communal tables for larger groups. I think they were out of the clean, cute dishware when we got there because we got some ugly cafeteria ceramic white mugs - or maybe those are the mugs for tea and drip coffee... it seems small but really hindered the experience. Cute cups/mugs are vital, y'all! We got the $10 coffee + 2 taco combo, a steal for a downtown meal! The tacos were good, not great - but the salsa had kick which is a big win. Great location to chill in the center of downtown Austin. Their flagship drinks are super pricey but I guess they got bills to pay being there. I tried their Aca Blue and it was pleasant. A bit weird tasting but pleasant. If you're a health freak then you probably would love this place. We also tried their toast with lettuce, tomato and bacon on it. I think this is one time I ate bacon and not feel grouse afterward. There is plenty of space to sit and work also. Their Wifi doesn't require a password. It's very busy around brunch time but calms down a lot later in the day. read more

Downtown vibe, for sure. Love this place!! A lot of space to sit indoors and outdoors too! They're known for their healthy cold pressed drinks +other delicious drinks!! (including coffee ofc) I had to find street parking around lunch time and surprisingly found a spot right away but wasn't a hassle, no parking lot. Bravo, glad to have another go-to spot. read more

I always love getting quick bite and juice on-the-go if I happen to stumble across a Revolución Shop. I've been going to the original location San Antonio since 2015, and have also visited the Houston store as well. Well, today, I finally got to try the Austin location! I will literally recommend anything and everything ok thwir menu. From their raw not milk (homemade nut milk) that saves me time (& money!) vs making it at home. The vegan bowl is my favorite refreshing meal, contains grilled watermelon, avocado, edamame, cucumber and carrots topped with black sesame seeds and a homemade dressing. The dressing is nutty and has a bit of a kick to it, but you can order it on the side if it's your first time. The staff is always super friendly and attentive to help you find the right "drink" or food menu item. I tried their coffee for the first time, mushrooms coffee, and it was SO YUMMY. I will have to say Austin location turned out to be a pleasant surprise. 4/5 stats because regardless of any location I have visited, the ambiance of other people there are just OFF, but there's nothing you can do about that. read more

I stopped by for wifi and something refreshing on a pretty warm day and got just what I was looking for: a clean, AC'ed space I could work from, and the rev acai bowl. I'm allergic to bananas so I asked to sub that out and the first bowl base was a bit watery. Icey, the kitchen manager, noticed I hadn't taken more than a bite out of my bowl, and offered to remake it. Not only was she really thoughtful and attentive, but she brought back a much thicker, tastier second bowl. Props to her! read more

Solid coffee but very lackluster food and service. Watched people behind me getting their food first - strange. People seemed to enjoy the yogurt bowls though. But seriously - 22 minutes to get a cold avocado toast with unwarm bread, prepackaged avocado spread, and pickled carrots? Not great! When you ask what's taking so long - "is there anything else I should do?" Yes how about you go figure out why your kitchen is so slow? They probably forgot the order. i have just discovered one of my new favorite coffee shops in austin... revolución was definitely revolutionary. from their minimalistic concept, fast internet and diverse drink menu, revolución has become one of my top places for coffee//drinks. i encounter this coffee shop on accident and i was curious so i came in to work. it was around 4pm and they still had many tables to work on. this coffee shop is located in downtown austin so parking obviously was tough but that's expected for the area. tables were on the smaller side, so if you want to co-op or have a lot of equipment it probably would be a little harder. the internet was fast and the music wasn't too loud or distracting. i got to try from my boyfriend's iced latte and i picked out their matcha lemonade. both items were FANTASTIC. the latte was perfectly balanced with a strong espresso taste and oat milk. but i think my matcha lemonade was BOMB. not overly sweet, not too "grass" tasting. it was perfect. i will be coming back to try their food items. it seems like they have tamales and i was very intrigued. they also have some very cute merch and little gifts. revolución is now one of my fav coffee shops in austin! read more

I've picked up food several times from this place but this time was unbelievable. Cool looking place with that would seem like a good hangout spot if people weren't spending the majority of their time waiting for anything they ordered to appear. I can't understand what's going on here. They serve one smoothie at a time and say "there's only one person in the kitchen". I watched them serve one smoothie at a time to 4 different people and it was mind boggling. After waiting for 40 minutes I asked for a refund on a $70 order. Will never come back to this place and STRONGLY recommend going to find anywhere else if you want to leave within 60 minutes of being here. Apathetic staff that exemplifies mediocrity as their service standard. read more

I absolutely love this coffee place! The atmosphere inside is so relaxing and quiet, a great place to get some work done while sipping on amazing coffee. I always go for the Chagachino and it never disappoints. Their almond milk is unmatched, it is the best almond milk I've ever had in a coffee. It is very creamy and not watery like other almond milks can be. I usually get it without the simple syrup because the mushroom blend has enough sweetness. I always go out of my way to make a stop here whenever I am in town. read more

Came here on a whim on my way to work, as I was traveling here for work, and let me tell you. I'm so glad I got to try them before I go back home! They've got a GORGEOUS little spot in a great neighborhood! VERY walkable, not to mention super spacious inside. Super fun, imaginative menu, (oat milk options!), and they have a little fridge right by the register with LOTS of fun healthy drinks! For all my girlies who enjoy a fun drink treat, this place is paradise. Not to mention!!!!! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL loom woven style hand made blankets are for sale too here! I waited until my work day was done, and came back for one. Service was great, it was such a nice vibe, great environment, fun and delicious food, beautiful style. Not to mention!!! I order this nearly every week. When I want a break from dairy I ask them to remove colostrum & swap in almond milk. My partner really likes the Eddy green juice - they're super health conscious and can consume things that don't have the sweetest taste and Fast Eddy is perfect for that. The staff is almost always super bright and cheerful and happy to help you. I like their merch too!

The shake was great, and I feel confident in the quality of the ingredients. As someone who avoids dairy, it's pretty hard to find a high quality indulgence, and it's definitely appreciated. It's a good spot if you're already walking SoCo, but not an extremely practical location if you're craving a quick sweet fix and a bit too pricey to get often.

There's a handful of parking spots in front of the cafe, or you can choose to park on the street in the neighborhood. There are beautiful plants and board games for you to play while in the cafe. They have tables outside on the patio, or they have tables, chairs, benches and couches inside. They have a dj booth since they have a dj at night, and they even had music records and merch shirts for sale. There were only 2 other small groups of people when we went on a Saturday morning. I choose a #2 smoothie, a turkey pesto sandwich (Turkey, Basil Pesto, Provolone Cheese, Sun dried tomato spread, mayonnaise. Served on a toasted ciabatta from Texas French Bread) and with a side of fresh berries. It was fresh, flavorful and delicious. However, my partner was driving and we gladly visited the small location. The ambience is really cool and casual very earthy and green. We both got one smoothie I got one of their green smoothies and added turmeric into It because I've been having some inflammation lately. The woman in the front counter was super positive and friendly and I enjoyed her energy. They have some outside patio seating, but not any indoor seating at this location.

While it can get super busy on the weekends and the ambiance can be a lil overstimulating ~ I'm happy to come during the week days when it's a slower and I can pull up a chair at the bar for easy, laid back dining! They also have a designated window for to go order, quick orders or call in orders. This has become my go to! Every staff member is always efficient, kind and professional. I think the service from the staff sticks out the most and the food right after - and on a consistent basis that's just hard to find these days. Parking was a bit challenging and the lot was full and they charge for parking. Service was quick, casual, just good energy and fast turnaround. I ordered my tried and true Miss Shortcake with their famous cake donut with cream cheese icing and fresh cut strawberries. The donut is so indulgent and was served warm with the most delectable flavor combinations. Tried the Son of a Peach with cream cheese icing, spiced peach filling, cake mix topping, cinnamon and sugar with honey butter. This one was a bit too overindulgent and sweet for my liking but was definitely worth a try. Portions are huge and can be shared as the donut is not as good warmed over. If you're in the mood for dessert and not think about calorie count, then this is the place.

For dinner, we started with the Caesar Salad alla Tommy, which I remember from a previous dining experience was a highlight. The Caesar salad was so fresh and flavorful with a nice balance of creamy and tangy flavors and a crunchy bite. For our entrees, I ordered the Mafaldine with unghi & tartufo which turned out to be the most memorable pasta of the table. The dish had a cream sauce with mushrooms and truffles that was rich, well-textured, and comforting without feeling heavy. The Chicken Parmigiana was a generous portion size that was satisfying, with a solid crisp on the breading and a good layer of sauce and cheese. It was served with a side of pasta. I will gladly have Sammie's take the Pepsi challenge against red sauce joints in NYC/NJ etc. In fact, I've told friends and family that I am going to take them to Sammie's when they visit from there. We just had such a fantastic experience - everything..the vibe..the red light fixtures and the color of the booths and the floor..the service - our server was great..loved their outfits..really had an old school little italy feel to it. The food was much better than I even anticipated - as a guy who grew up on NJ diner mozzarella sticks, I have a high bar for them and these were magnificent. And seriously...taking the "everything's bigger in Texas" slogan and applying them to mozzarella sticks?! top 10 achievements of the decade. The chicken parm was perfect - well seasoned, proper amount of crisp..the basil on top...the perfect browning of the cheese. Also the lasanga was excellent..and best part - the leftovers..took it home and the next two days put them in a small cast iron and re-heated them..and the magic was right there in my hill country kitchen! Lastly and certainly not least - the cannoli...just look at the photo below.. I'll say, yes, the place is pricey but you can really easily split these entrees and then it becomes cheaper than a jersey strip center Italian joint. I haven't stopped raving about Sammie's since I've been there, and I cannot wait to return, recommend it, and take friends and family that visit.

Honestly, it's the kind of meal I could see myself ordering every week. My partner went with the Lost Recipe, which looked just as delicious. You can never really go wrong with fried chicken, and this version certainly didn't disappoint. The service was equally impressive. Our server was friendly, attentive and checked in regularly throughout the meal. She even brought us a complimentary crab pastry to try, which was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. One thing to note this place gets busy, especially during lunch so plan accordingly. That said, the food and service are well worth it and the menu is reasonably priced. Kiin Di has successfully made the jump from food truck to full-service restaurant and it's definitely earned a spot on my regular rotation.
