Long overdue review!! Getting my hair done is one of my favorite things, and I have always been particular about hairdressers. I have gone to Heather for 8 years, starting at another salon before she opened Rhapsody Hair, and I cannot imagine trusting my hair to anyone else. The salon is quaint and filled with lush green plants -- soothing just to walk in. She is a true professional who listens but also makes suggestions based on what works for your hair. I have gone back and forth between red and blonde for years, and she is equally amazing at both -- right now she has me doing red underneath blonde (although the attached picture shows a pink toner over my blonde, a temporary way to have fun with my hair!) Beyond her skill, she is easy to be around -- funny, chill, great conversation. She sells a great product line, and the salon is eco-friendly, recycling everything including hair and foils. She offers coffee, beverages, and small treats, turning every visit into a real pampering experience -- my favorite is rose' bubbly with a decadent piece of chocolate. My 18-year-old daughter became a client at 13 and adores Heather just as much as I do. She kept the shape cute while it grew, and kept working with me on the color until we reached perfection! My hair is healthy, long, and the best color I've ever had. I'm a client of Heather who is the owner of the salon and she is amazing! I love that it's a certified sustainable salon and very eco friendly and low tox. I found them through the green circle salons website. The salon is beautifully decorated with plants. Heather starts off with a shampoo and gives you an amazing scalp massage. She is fun to talk to during the haircut and it feels like chatting with a friend. She always offers drinks such as tea or coffee and has snacks and chocolate available in the waiting area. It's a small salon so it's relaxing and I have been the only client in there when I go in the evening. She sells some products there but is not pushy about selling them. While looking through her work on social media (IG) @Marci_and_the_mane I found a great variety of (Modern) skilled color on her clients and Haircuts which was really impressive as it's often just either one or the other ... I reached out and her response time was quick and professional! I immediately felt like I was making a great choice as she was very detailed and listened to what I was trying to accomplish. I loved that upon arriving at the salon she greeted me with a warm and friendly smile... tea , coffee and refreshments are instantly offered making you feel right at home! So skip your Starbucks / Peet's and just get in that salon!! Marcie's attention to detail was impeccable !! I still can't believe how thorough and attentive she was in just trying to grasp not just the current request, but also what any future plans would possibly involve!! Could this be love? Have I found what could be the unicorn of Color / hairstylist in the Sacramento area?! Marci had me in the chair for the evening , we chatted .. got to know one another and I appreciated that checked on me intermittently while I processed the whole 4 hours! I could not have been happier processing through my balayage session with her. My appointment from start to finish was an absolute dream. Finally! Finally! I can't thank Heather enough for truly listening to me and not just doing what she wanted or what she thinks I wanted. She took her time to understand what I wanted because she wanted to make sure I walked away happy. My hair is healthy, but it's so thick and straight as a nail so I really need the hair artist to help me when I'm trying to explain what I want done. She started out cutting dry and then shampooing which by the way I could have fallen asleep, that was the best head massage I've ever had. Then she began to cut my hair and she talked to me the entire time asking questions about how I wanted it to look, explaining how to get my hair to style this way and that way. I have found my favorite salon - finally. First of all, I just want to thank Heather for dealing with me because I feel like I was a lot, I didn't really know what to tell her other than "I want it lighter" and I was also on pain medication at the time so I was probably acting like a weirdo. She really took care of me during my appointment and I seriously appreciate it. She talked through the color plan, made me tea (which was a local special blend and it was really yummy!), and she did a great job on my hair! Recently I have been dealing with a lot hence the pain meds and just feeling really down about my appearance so I searched and found Rhapsody Hair - their website is just awesome and super informative. It's visually aesthetic as is the interior of the salon, just friggin' peaceful and beautiful, but also the bios for the stylists are detailed. I have always been taken care of by friends of friends who knew me and kindof did their own thing so I never learned how to describe my coloring to people, but the bios and the consultation form on the website when you go to book online is really helpful! I felt confident about going in, good thing too so I will be back many times! Sarah flowers is an energetic alchemist when it comes to tending to your hair! What I mean by this is that your hair is not the only thing that leaves transformed after a session with her. I was blessed to be able to be on the receiving end of her hair MAGICK as I sat in her chair & received the Ritual hair cut. We lit a candle and set intentions for my hair cut ahead of time. We drank tea, had crystal essences and pulled oracle cards (to which the guidance was in perfect alignment with the intention I came in to set)! She even used a hair rinse she had made with roses and it made me feel like royalty! I left feeling so peaceful, beautiful and lighter (in more ways than one). Also, to not comment on the venue of the salon she works in would be criminal! This salon is breathtakingly gorgeous! It's bright white walls with tons of hanging plants and their beautiful rich contrast of dark green in this white setting makes you feel like you're on vacation in an epic island or something! Didn't get the hair cut I requested, my hair wasn't styled even close to the picture I showed, they cut too much of my hair off and put so much product in my hair that it looked greasy and had to wash it when I got home. Randee is a great stylist. Lots of stylists have skills, but Randee has the artistry, and it makes all the difference. I used to go see her in Oakland, but then she moved to Boise. For six years, I searched for a stylist to replace her. I must have gone to 20 or 30 stylists. Some made my hair look like a mop, others made it look like a Q-tip. None of them could make my hair look as good as Randee did. Now Randee has moved to Sacramento, and I am happy to drive an hour to get my awesome haircuts back. It's worth it to me, because Randee listens to what I want and I'm always happy with the results.
