Gave Ribbro BBQ another shot. I was in the area and wanted BBQ, and although I have not had very good experiences at this location, I opted to give it another shot. As every experience I had at this location, the service was incredible, the people working here are always super polite, very helpful and friendly. This time I ordered the Brisket and a big Korean Beef Short Rib (one bone). The Brisket was tender and juicy, I would still have preferred a little more salt, but honestly I am partial to Texas style and this is BBQ with an Asian flair, so I guess that might be why it's just not as salty as I like, not that it wasn't good, it's just my preference. The Korean Beef Short Rib was also very tender and very flavorful, and not dry at all. I did not order sides cause that's just not my thing, when I go to BBQ, I am just there to eat the meat. I am glad that this experience was much better and am gladly raising the experience to a solid 3.5 to 4 stars.

We had Ribbro Bbq cater my friend's son's 1st birthday...and we are so happy that we did. THEY TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING. Though for the price, I do believe it should always be like that. They are pricey, but what REAL BBQ spot isn't? It's expensive because it takes time, money, and effort to put out a product that's worthy of being called BBQ. Mama took care of our order, and went over the itemized list with us before we loaded up. Customer service 101. Inside is pretty typical of an OC BBQ Spot, wood/brown; however it was clean and spaced well. All the food was delicious...with my favorite being the burnt ends. The smoke flavor was well absorbed, and the meat not dry at all. That is literally the biggest fear of purchasing large order of smoked meats. The Kim Chi slaw is refreshing, and a new take on an otherwise typical/lackluster side. BBQ beans were nice touch on a classic. Potato salad and Mac n Cheese were also very good. Bread came un-toasted, and we were explained to that, that is not how it is usually done in-house, however with such a large order, it came to us plain. Not a deal breaker really, and honestly the correct way to do this. The side of BBQ sauce, all the utensils came packaged for us. Again, for the price, it should, but its always a nice touch that they actually did. I would love to come back and try some of their other dishes and meats. Thank you again Ribbro for making my friend's son's birthday a hit!

I had no idea this was here, and it's 10 minutes from my house. I had to give it a shot once I found it. This isn't your traditional bbq spot like you might find in Texas. I'll be nice. Pork belly burnt ends - cooked well, but not a fan of the Asian(ish) glaze. They were actually really good, but not traditional bbq. Brisket - cooked okay, but they were soggy like they've been just been sitting covered up with pieces stacked on top of each other. They were just okay. Pork ribs(spareribs) - were obviously sitting a while. A little dry, but a decent pull off the bone. Not a fan of the pepper rub. Sausage - tasted like bologna. I like smoked bologna, but these had no smoke to them. Not a fan. Mac 'n cheese - obviously used that packaged creamy cheese. It wasn't bad, though. Beans - not a fan. Pre-made and not good. I'll eat here again just to get the pork belly burnt ends. Unfortunately, this place is about average for California. I hope they do well. The staff here is really friendly. They got 3 stars due to the burnt ends and great staff. I recommend you give this place a shot, but set your expectations to California bbq and not Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas City, or the Carolina's.

A colleague and I had lunch at Ribbro recently, and I was pretty happy with my lunch. As you would kind of expect with the barbecue place, the food was pretty expensive, but they did have a lunch special with a brisket sandwich and it was pretty damn good. After I had finished my meal, I noticed that they had a pickle and onion bar. I sampled a few of them and they were delicious. It would've gone excellent with my lunch. I mentioned that they needed a big sign to the owners and they were super nice. The ambience was good kind of a dark lit barbecue place. I might come back. I don't know it's pretty expensive.

This place looks like a mom and pop spot owned by Korean family. The vibes were giving ~Texas ~ which was funny bc the cashier was an older Korean lady. We came on a Saturday around 1pm, it was not too busy. The fries were 10/10. It's crispy, well seasoned and I want an entire bag of it. The fried rice was 10/10, sooo good and kinda wish I ordered more of it since I was sharing this with my friends. The pork ribs were honestly forgettable. It's good but not great. However the SAUCES! They were amazinnggggg and I love that they give you pickled vegetables too (very Korean of them haha). We had a lot of fun trying the different sauces. It's a great time

The food here is amazing! We found this restaurant by chance and the meats are so flavorful and tender - you're basically guaranteed to like whatever you order. Co workers and I came here and we ordered a variety of meats from ribs to brisket as well as coleslaw, mac & cheese and their chips. These were so delicious and the price point wasn't bad either. Oh yeah, they also provide free toast with your orders and everything pairs together so well. The servers are super nice and helpful, and you always feel welcomed as soon as you enter the restaurant. If you like meats and/or bbq, this place is for you. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

The foodie sidekick picked up dinner for us and what I thought was going to be food for two, ended up being food for six. We had leftovers for dayyysss. THE FOOD. Ribbro Sampler (6 Meats + 4 Sides). Because he felt we needed to try almost all the meats and sample a variety of sides. Here's the breakdown... - Andouille Sausage. Smoky with a peppery snap and a mildly spicy finish. - Pork Ribs. These ribs carried a deep hickory aroma with a sweet-savory glaze; the Korean dry rub added a subtle heat that crept in after each bite. It is a bit on the firm side, but remained juicy. - Chicken. Tender and slightly sweet from the bulgogi brine with a gentle smokiness. - Pulled Pork. Juicy and lightly seasoned with smoky undertones. - Pork Belly Burnt Ends. These little cubes of happiness delivered rich, melty pork belly wrapped in a caramelized crust with a spicy-sweet gochujang kick. - Beef Brisket. Smoky and finished with a subtle Korean spice. It was a bit dry, but still good. - Tangy Slaw. Bright and crisp, the slaw gave a sharp vinegar pop that cut beautifully through all the richness. - Cornbread. Soft and lightly sweet, it had the classic crumbly texture that demanded a drizzle of honey. - Potato Salad. Creamy with light seasoning. The soft potatoes & crisp veggies were the perfect contrast that made every bite comforting. - BBQ Beans. Bathed in a rich sweet/tangy sauce, the beans were a hearty side dish that paired well with the meats. THE VERDICT. Ribbro delivered a meat medley of smoky, Korean-influenced BBQ that were all tasty. And, can confirm that leftovers are good over a period of days.

Our first experience with this place was fantastic! Even though it was a busy Saturday, we tried their Saturday special and everything was absolutely delicious. To top it off, the service was super friendly, which made us instant fans. Because that first experience was so great, we decided to cater from here to celebrate my son's graduation. While the rest of the food tasted great, we were really disappointed with the loaded potatoes. As you can see from the pictures, there was absolutely nothing "loaded" about them, they were missing quite a few ingredients and just looked sad. It was a huge bummer since this was a special celebration for my son. I'd still give them another chance because the flavor is there, but they definitely missed the mark on attention to detail for our big event.

Dude this place is amazing, favorite bbq spot in Irvine/ Lake Forrest area. I ordered the kimchi slaw, 1/2 lb of brisket, and bbq beans, and cornbread and toast. I must say everything was super good, brisket was juicy and tender. Beans had great flavor which wasn't too salty, and the slaw had the perfect amount of acidity. This place is such a home run, try it now! I wish I tried the ribs will be back!

American BBQ with a bit of a Korean flair? Sign me up. Truthfully, I think I've been spoiled with BBQ after living in Austin for a couple years. California may have Texas beat in a lot of things, but Texas has the upper hand when it comes to smokehouses. All this to say that I'm used to getting completely blown away from BBQ, and Ribbro didn't quite match that level. We got the Brisket, Pork Belly Ends, Pork Ribs, and Sausage. Brisket and Sausage were great! Pork Ribs had a nice crust but felt a bit dry to me. What Ribbro really has locked down are the sides. Hot damn! I was not expecting to be impressed by "seasonal veggies" but that broccoli may have been the best I've had in a long while. Potato salad was delicious and not heavy. And I absolutely loved the kimchi coleslaw (wasn't spicy for me). Very refreshing side to eat with your BBQ. Service was nice and friendly, and I liked the presentation of their plates too. I do think they're holding back on the heat a bit. For items labeled as "spicy," I was expecting them to pack some kind of punch. Even their red gochujang sauce, albeit very tasty, barely had any spice. One last pro for them: we don't get BBQ like this often because these kind of meals are very heavy. I end up feeling quite sluggish afterwards. I didn't get that feeling after this meal!

If you're looking for something different from the typical BBQ spot, this Korean-inspired Texas BBQ joint is absolutely worth checking out. The fusion of flavors is really unique and brings a fresh twist to classic barbecue. The service was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. One of the highlights was the gochujang pork belly. It was incredibly juicy, packed with flavor, and had the perfect balance of smoky BBQ richness with that slightly sweet and spicy Korean kick. You can really tell they put thought into how the flavors come together. Mac and Cheese, potato salad, corn bread, and cole slaw were amazing as well.

I have been here twice. The first time I went, it was an easy 5 stars. The food was delicious and hot. The corn bread was fantastic! The second time I brought my wife and really hyped it up. This was about 7 months after the first time I went by myself. I finally thought there was an amazing bbq place around here. Well our trip that time was disappointing. The food was okay but not hot like the last time. And they changed their cornbread! The first time I had it, you could tell it was homemade and fresh. The second time I got it, you could tell it came from a package and it was smaller and not hot. A real bummer when a place starts off good and then cuts corners to cut costs and still charges the same prices to customers.

The brisket was chopped, did not offer sliced, no smoke ring or flavor. I seemed under cooked. It was very average. 35 per lbs for brisket, not worth it. Should have tried ribs. Service was ok, sauces were good. Sorry but 3 stars is all this place gets read more

While I was eating lunch here today the restaurant was playing some absolutely wild covers to popular music over the last 10ish years. I kinda hated it but I also kinda liked it. Hard to explain. Like why not just play the original song? It's almost harder to find a playlist or something that only has bad covers. I'd 100% go back here for the food and to hate on the music they play. Meat was super tender and flavorful! For takeout orders, there's a station at the side counter to get your own BBQ sauces. Side dishes - macaroni and cheese, potato salad, etc... were also delicious. The first time that I ate here the ribs were excellent, the meat was falling off the bone, there was butter on the bread, got two sides and a drink for around 30. Went there earlier today asked for the same thing and the lady at the register didn't know what I was talking about. Upsold me on the rib plate I'm thinking if the ribs was as good as last time it's okay for the extra 10 bucks. The ribs were mediocre this time around, felt like it was cooked a long time ago and it was microwaved to back up to temperature. The meat was chewy and not at all appetizing. It was so disappointing. I ordered some brisket to come along with it and it sorta made up for the disappointing ribs. It comes with only one side so i tried the potato salad and it had a strange taste to it, definitely needed more salt. Music was played too loud in the restaurant Overall, I don't know if I can come back here again or recommend it to any of my friends. Sucks, was looking forward to another bbq place near Lake Forest. This time it was just bad, and I can't risk spending this much money for mediocre food read more

Was looking for a place to pick up dinner and this place popped up. Was pleasantly surprised, really good! Ordered the Cowboy Dinner (Friday and Saturday special) which included ribs, brisket, sausage, and 2 sides. The brisket was super tender and fatty which was perfect, juicy sausage with some cheese inside, and the ribs were flavorful and fall off the bone. Mac and cheese was not mushy with hearty shells and potato salad had big chunks of potato and eggs. It's very hard to find halfway decent bbq in SoCal let alone OC and I would say the brisket especially and other meats are among the best in SoCal. Glad we have something like this in the area and will be be back! read more

Fresh, perfectly seasoned food. This is a true delight after lots of time in Texas. Best BBQ we've had in O. C. The chef in the kitchen prepares with creativity and great skill. I had a BRISKET sandwich from this location, and it was good, Today, I ordered another Brisket sandwich the meat was brunt, I called the store to tell them, the woman I spoke with told me they never have brunt brisket I told that I have a sandwich in front of me, she then asked if I was member?? She said she would give me points?? Never offered to replace the sandwich, just points for a future discount once I accumulated points I wonder how many points l need to replace the $15 I paid for the sandwich. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Food review : Incident: I ordered dirty rice, cornbread, and peach cobbler last night. Here's my review: I arrived to the location and my order was not ready. I waited 15 minutes for my order after driving 25 minutes to the location. The location attempted to pacify steam rice, and vegetables as dirty rice, luckily I checked my order prior to driving off. I returned the rice and received an apology. Issue: I arrived home with two cornbreads and the peach cobbler . Upon tasting the peach cobbler it was totally disgusting full of peaches and no flavor with breadcrumbs on top. I ended up trashing the full desert . False advertisement: Pictures and your product is not consistent with what you are advertising . Results: After having two poor experience, one with service and one with food, I will not be back to this location. This is a great BBQ place. I was just at PetSmart and decided to google takeout nearby and this place came up. Checked the menu--which is extensive--and ordered 3 pulled pork sandwiches for me a the family. I drove over, took me 2 minutes and went inside and was greeted by own of the owners. Was told my order was being worked on right then (seriously it was only minutes since I ordered ) and gave me a little paper bag and invited me to take home some BBQ sauces, which were on a side bar along with several other items (including toast). Did that, food was up in maybe 8 minutes and i was out the door. Also I want to preface that I ordered the pulled pork combo despite not actually knowing what was in the combo. And when I got home I was pleasantly surprised. The combo was the pulled pork sandwich with a side of pickles, coleslaw and a very generous bag of fries with a hidden side of fry sauce in each bag. So about the food: pulled pork was tender, well seasoned and moist, portion for a sandwich was generous as well. The bun was lightly toasted and had the name of the restaurant branded into the bread. Cute touch. The fries were a bit unusual--though again, generous--as they were like thinly sliced steak fries, but they were very good, nice mix of crispy and soft with an occasional chewy bit (Did need a tad more salt). Oh and I mentioned before the fries came with a sauce which I want to say is honey mustard but I think that's not exactly right. Was good though. I barely finished the fries and sandwich so as of typing this review I've not yet tried it. I can say it looks freshly made and has sliced almonds as a garnish. Looking forward to trying it when I've got room! Any A+ experience, would recommend. read more

I was excited to try this place under new ownership and management (it used to be a Dickey's BBQ location). The ambiance is great and they now have a great selection of sauces, drinks, condiments and the decorations are very nice. The place is very clean and inviting. The girl at the counter was nice too. BUT the food, not so good. I ordered the "smoked" BBQ chicken priced at $30 per pound. They were taking a long time so I asked how long it would take. My first time here and super happy I found this place. Service is amazing, I think it was the owner who added extra pork rib to my order and guided me to the free pickle and bbq station. They also have free bread and offer garlic butter by request. Kimchee slaw was tangy and Spicy, this Korean twist makes a lot of sense. Brisket is nice and tender and cooked to perfection, rib was amazing and bbq sauces are to die for. I do wish the chicken wings were more crispy , but the taste and the smoke were right on. I think next time if you like crispy chicken wings , just ask for extra crispy. I am 100% positive they will accommodate. 5 star service And 5 star food read more

I will say the people that worked there are awesome. The brisket had great taste but pretty dry. The baked beans are great. The cornbread was so dry I couldn't eat it. I'm not sure if I went on a bad day or what. Brisket should not be that dry. The sausage was ok not too bad. Full disclosure I'm not a big barbecue fan. Having said that their brisket was absolutely tender and delicious. Their fries were super good as well. We've been here twice. The first was a few weeks after they opened. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. I had the brisket sandwich and was perfect for me. His sandwich was small and he left still hungry. I begged him to come back. This time I had the same sandwich which was huge! I could only eat half along with their yummy veggies. So good! The BBQ is fantastic. The brisket was so tender it fell apart just trying to get some on my fork. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful and I really loved the pickled onions and pickles that were help yourself to as much or as little as desired. What was so nice was that they made sure to let us know about the salad and coleslaw ingredients and separated out the nuts for us. Husband got to go food for us, he got ribs and said they were ok. He ordered me the 1/2 Chicken and roasted vegetables, Chicken was dry and like jerky. Vegetables were inedible, weird flavor and so overcooked. He said while he waited all of the TV's were showing gymnastics (it's football season) which he thought was weird. Caveat: I am partial to mango/coconut milk or mango sticky rice matcha lattes. The goma matcha was worth the $8 pricetag. Tip: Matcha Mondays=10% off matcha drinks! It was maybe 9am and there were maybe 3 tables seated in their side outdoor space with maybe 6 cars in the lot, it was not packed at all. I went to walk thru the door to the side outdoor seating just to look around and maybe sit for 5 minutes and was told I wasnt allowed back there as they're 'full service'. My assumption was that meant they wanted to keep the tables open for people who eat there which is fine. So I said no worries and explained I just wanted to look around instead of sit and then was told yet again I couldn't even go through the door nor sit indoors. I was told my only option was to take my coffee out front. It really felt as if I wasnt welcome there at all. It was a very odd experince to be honest. I've worked in customer service for over 20 years myself and all that they had to say to me was 'you can look around and sit for 5 minutes or until we start to get busy'. Instead whoever trains the staff here seems to train that of it's to go then people arent welcome to stay even for 5 minutes. As for the drink itself. Instead of making a latte with an expresso shot it was simply milk with brewed coffee sat atop (very bitter at that). Which was really odd as I could see they had a full expresso machine setup. Regarding the latte with brewed pour over on top I didn't get that information from anyone. That WAS the drink I was served. Ive had maybe 5000 lattes in my life time from about 500 different cafes. Maybe someone pulled a really bad (over extracted shot) but it was 100% like a pour over on top of milk. 2. I never tried to use the emergency side exit/gate. I tried to use the adjoining door way. 3. I completely get the outside is reserved seating only now. That could have been explained friendlier on the spot. The approach of the situation could have been a sure you can take a look but cant sit. Simple. 4. When I went with my nephews it wasnt a question of not having a kids menu it was not allowing the slightest of alterations (no condiments) for kids who are typically picky at a certain age. 5. Ill agree maybe its just not a good alignment.

Gave my order #139 to the truck in front of me. You then didn't call out a re cook even tho your co worker asked you to. He ended up having to call out the re cook as you ignored him as well. Handed me my food after and seemed annoyed that I asked for spread. Believe me I get it- I also was sitting there for 15 minutes waiting and not super delighted either. I know all these details cause the window was wide open and you didn't even acknowledge the mistake, the wait, or your attitude. Hoping today was just a bad day for you. It happens. I suggest a personal day or maybe potato slicing next time- definitely not customer facing. On a lighter note - Aaron is beyond delightful.

We visited with our soccer family at the request of my son to have Thai food. I personally look at not only the ratings but the pics of the food in order to determine if we should go to a place - this had some good pictures that looked enticing. But after eating there, the original pics did not do this place justice. We ordered the shrimp and veggie spring rolls, bamboo shoots veggie dish, beef satay, chicken pad Thai, and a pad see ew. That was last night - it's morning and I'm still thinking about the yummy flavors in my mouth! The spring rolls were good - well wrapped and filled with a perfectly made peanut sauce to dip it in. The bamboo shoots dish came with a plethora of vegetables and was mildly to moderately spicy in a good way. My favorites were definitely the beef satay which was cool to perfection and the pad Thai - very well done - and I've been eating at different Thai places since I was a teenager! The noodles were on point with the texture, the flavor was saturated throughout every bite, so yummy! I did not try the pad see ew but it looked really good. Love the quantity given and the high quality of the food. Our meals fed three very hungry JV soccer players and four famished parents. Our waitress/server was very attentive, friendly, and smiling with a welcoming air that made us feel like we were eating at her home. Loved it and we are definitely returning! Thanks Thai Garden!

As soon as we stepped in, the owner (I think) gave us a super friendly welcome, setting the tone for a great visit. We couldn't resist trying the braised kimchi, and the staff didn't waste a second offering us a taste. It was seriously yummy and totally unique, mixing Korean flavors with classic southern BBQ vibes - definitely a new fave for us! The service was top-notch, with our food hitting the table within 5 minutes of sitting down. And let me tell you, everything was super fresh and piled high on each plate - plenty for one hungry person! Rib Bro BBQ is a must-visit for BBQ lovers! We absolutely loved the unique Korean flair blended with traditional BBQ flavors--it added such a delicious twist. We tried the brisket, ribs, and chicken tenders, and everything was cooked to perfection. RIBBRO BBQ is absolutely amazing! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly service and the incredible smell of true, slow-smoked barbecue. The ribs are tender, flavorful, and fall right off the bone, and the brisket is some of the best I've ever had--juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I can't rave enough about this establishment! The food is SO good, the service is on point. For people who think it's pricey? Better quality meats cost money. I've had bbq in the south and this bbq does not pale in comparison. My favorite is the brisket, which is consistently superb! I worked at a bbq restaurant that had an outdoor smokehouse and I can vouch that this bbq is slow smoked.... The restaurant is always clean and the service is always friendly. Inside a unassuming strip mall, once inside you can smell the wood and experience their classic technique with a Korean twist if you want with gochujang barbecue sauce- that being said the Carolina sauce with a hint of smoke was one of the best I've had. Now to the Star of the place - Brisket, Ive tried all through Texas and even go to barbecue festivals. This ranked really really great.
