Great BBQ pork sandwich! I got a standalone sandwich (wasn't super hungry at the time) and my boyfriend got his with a side of the curly fries and coleslaw -- the coleslaw was the perfect complement to the BBQ, with the vinegar-y tang and crunch that it provided. The inside sitting area was roomier than we thought it'd be, which was great on a hot day. We were also able to try a cornbread + ice cream dessert that they offered us toward the end of our meal, and that was absolutely the highlight of my time there -- we ate it all up, as it was so incredibly delicious (especially with the warm cornbread having a slightly crispy top and juxtaposed with the cold ice cream), but most of all, I really appreciated the hospitality of the staff to offer that to us so kindly. Really glad that my partner looked on Yelp and found this place, since I unfortunately wouldn't have been able to, since Ribs Against the Machine wasn't listed on Google Maps yet (which is where I usually look to find options to choose from). All the guys at the shop were so friendly and seemed so passionate about their food and establishment, I can't help but want to support them and want to see them succeed. Excellence! I've been itching to come here since the summer. Long wait, huge pay off! The items I got today were pork ribs, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. My girlfriend and I shared this with a Dr Pepper and were satisfied and wanted more. As we were about to order we were surprised with 2 brisket tacos! And they were incredible! I think their slaw on the tacos was a nice touch. I got medium spice for my ribs and it was very mild so don't be scared! I will say the Mac and mash both needed more butter garlic or salt but when combined with the ranch and the BBQ sauce they were incredible. My perfect bite on the brisket tacos was with pickle, mac, and extra sauce. Speaking of pickles... WOW! I asked for an extra side of pickles and was given a nice ramaken full! They are acidic, crunchy, and flavorful! I need to know what brand they are! The toast on the combo plate was very good too. Toasted, buttered, and absorbed whatever rib pieces fell. Now located at the former Ameci Glenoaks location, RAM brings ridiculously yummy meaty BBQ accessible to Burbank and Glendale where a memorable great BBQ was lacking. Keeping it purist, no hiding that luscious, clean, flavorful, slightly spicy dry rub meat under heaps of unnecessary sauce! That said, the side of BBQ sauce was great tasting as well! Baby backs were our fave; just right where you can bite/pull the meat off the bone with satisfaction but no wars with gristle or toughness and no messy fall off. Came here on a Friday night. In order to get here you gotta go through a bar. (Even though I'm not sure if that's just after certain hours) We had the pork sandwich and it was very tasty. I had eaten pizza right before so I feel like I couldn't enjoy it as much but it really tasted delicious. It came with fries and mini corn breads. We got to eat inside the bar while playing some pool. It's street parking and it's not the best street, but it shouldn't be packed too much. At least not at night. If you haven't heard yet, there's a new pop up where Dave's Hot Chicken used to be before they opened their first brick and mortar store in Koreatown. Ribs Against The Machine barely opened a month ago but due to popularity, it has extended its business hours. They used to open 8:45pm, then 8pm, and now at 7pm. I had the chance to visit the location before it gets too crowded. I met Armen and Edgar who were both friendly towards customers. They explained the process of getting these ribs ready for customers. Apparently, they slow cook the ribs for about six hours to make it really tender. I tried the Cornbread Rib-Mitch which is their signature mini cornbread muffins, with chopped up rib meat with a side of barbecue sauce and pickles. I requested a mild level of spiciness but if I had known ahead that the muffins will be on a sweet side, then I would have asked for it to a lot spicier. The merriment of sweet and spicy tastes will be perfect. I also had a piece of rib meat and I tell you, it's so tender and delicious. I could easily scrape the meat off the bones. Since they just opened, I do under that they are still trying to get themselves comfortably situated. I'm sure after they polish off all the jitters and kinks, they'll be handling this like certified pros. I recommend giving it a try. They are open daily except Mondays from 7pm until sell out. read more
