My wife and I have been going to Ribs U.S.A. since the mid 90s. It's always been our "go-to" BBQ restaurant in Los Angeles. Last night we ordered in and when I went to pick the order up, the ribs were in a large tin container so I couldn't open them easily to see them. When we got home we were both shocked how bad these Beef Ribs looked. There was NO meat on the bones. All of the meat was separated or hanging on to cartilage that separated and overcooked. We ended up throwing out half of them. I order a small Baked Beans and they were horrible also. They were hard and undercooked. How do you mess up Baked Beans? Unfortunately, my wife and I feel we've lost another great restaurant in the Burbank area. We won't be going back. read more

The chicken and baby back ribs are lightly seasoned and moist inside with a gentle crisp outside. Beef rib was wet and delicious; was able to eat as served, no gristle or tough meat. We got for 40 people and had SO much left over that we're going to have pulled pork and homemade chicken salad for weeks. Never again!!! My son went in and ordered 239.12 worth of food. Ribs, chicken, rib tips, when he got home it was tri tip!!!! We never eat tri tip because we don't like it. We called and they said I was the one who took your order and you ordered tri tip, not rib tips. They made the mistake and but never apologized for it, they said you can bring it back and we'll change it. It was for a 65 th birthday dinner and the food was already here. We don't live close by.The ribs, and tri tip were not tender. I will NEVER go back here. What happened to the customer is always right?? Bad food. Pulled pork was like eating baby food. ....mushy and tasteless. Ribs were ok. Sides were mediocre. Not going back.

If you enjoy true southern style BBQ, Do Not EAT HERE!!! The baby back ribs didn't come tear off the bones, I had to use a fork and knife to actually eat them. There was no rub on the ribs. They only taste you get from them is a very strong pig taste. The flavors I got were equivalent to a pig roast, not a southern style rib. The Mac and cheese not only looked like a high school lunch but lacked flavors. There were no flavor in the cheese, they also add like a mozzarella cheese but made it chunky and ruined the consistency. To go on the noodles were so mushy they would disintegrate without even having to chew. The only thing I got from here that We're actually good we're the french fries and their cornbread that comes in muffin form. read more

I recently dined at this restaurant and was extremely disappointed with the overall experience. The service was slow and unfriendly, the food was bland coleslaw was just shredded cabbage nothing else cornbread was stale and didn't taste good, and the atmosphere the staff gave was very rushed and uninviting I get it you wanna close at 7:30 but we couldn't even dine in they literally put all the chairs up. The three star rating on yelp is a bold face lie! Best bbq place in la! Only one! Even though their ribs, chicken, et al, are vastly different in terms of smoking techna, probably choice of wood for smoker/oven, the sauce is finger bottle linking good, and as addicting as Arthur Miller's legendary sauce in Kansas City Missouri. The hungry bbq platter is soooo cheap $13.00 for the quality and quantity. You're getting a quarter chicken, sausage link, rib tips and a healthy dosing of an all beef rib. Excellent. Now the sauce. You think it's a smooth smokey standard sauce but then the sweet tangy after effect hits it out of the park like Justin turner does itfor the dodgers. Owner won't reveal its contents, but I suspect it has both elements of a combination of vinegar , tomato paste, sugar, clove or ingredient in black liquorice -- herbecial perennial-- and maybe cinnamon and other spices. My favorite BBQ spot! The food is delicious. I love the corn muffins, hot links, rib tips & baby back ribs + baked beans & baked potato. I sometimes get the hot wings & ask for extra sauce :) My favorite bbq sauce is the spicy bbq sauce to put as much as I want on my food. The last time I picked up an order, I was told that they ran out of the spicy bbq sauce which was disappointing but other than that, this place is great! Almost forgot. I got a deal at this place hence the reason I went. On any normal day I would have driven by this place and thought nothing of it. It was kind of rustic to say the least, and the food was just about the same. I ordered ribs and sausage and some unmemorable sides. The ribs were good in a bad way. They were saucy, but the sauce was kind of too sweet. The sausage was good but I just like sausage. haha I wanted to like this place because it was homey and the waiter was nice, but it was just okay. The corn on the cob had zero taste and the mac and cheese was bland. The cornbread...was okay, but definitely much better with butter. I liked the pulled pork more than the baby back ribs. Since I am unable to respond publicly to your response, Don, I wanted to make sure I left something that was visible. First, my name is not Gracelyn. Second, as I mentioned previously, it is not about the $5 but rather the principle. Had someone relayed information of a third party to us earlier, maybe that would've warranted a different outcome or no review at all. I am no stranger to holiday hours, as I actually mentioned to you on the phone, I worked in many restaurants over the years. Restaurants are a sector of customer service and unfortunately that's the industry you chose to work in. Beyond that, your site does offer a $5 reward, which is something we weren't eligible to receive simply because your site doesn't offer larger sized sides. That's an error on your end and an inconvenience to your beloved customers. I won't debate you on customer service but maybe it is the caliber of the restaurants I previously worked at that have a different approach to what you seemingly take no responsibility for, as the owner of this establishment. I came in several hours after I posted my review. I actually have a majority of our dialogue recorded but was waiting for my soul to calm to post it, but since you initiated the communication, it would be rude of me not to respond. I was there before close and even left the receipt with your employee for you to see. As owner/manager you have a responsibility to ensure a smooth opening and closing. It was your choice to stay open on a holiday. I feel horrible for your employees that you felt so entitled to be home while they closed for you. I've worked 10-12 hour days on holidays so I'm fully aware of how this works. As far as uneducated and bad words are concerned, I wonder if someone proofread your response. I don't need to go waiving my degree around, but I appreciate the blatant sexism you exhibited during my experience with you. Shows me how much work we have left to do. But from the looks of your profile picture, it seems we're both Trojans. I hope you graduated Cum Laude as well. I admit to using one profanity after repeatedly asking you not to talk over me and to please allow me to speak, which again, I have a recording of. I remember starting to explain my experience to you, to which you started repeatedly yelling over the phone, "Well did you talk to me?" And had you allowed me to continue speaking, you would've found that out. You called the police because you said I was there after close and with that, you also didn't like what I had to say. No manager was coming because again, you hadn't listened to my complaint, so please don't let your ego get the best of you here. Had you or someone else mentioned a manager was coming, I absolutely would've stayed. I was not worried about the police because we arrived and paid since my parents still wanted your ribs, for whatever reason. I was inside asking to speak to a manager BEFORE close. My brother was standing there with me and we were both asked to wait while TWO other people came in and picked up food. Please pull up your camera footage. I'd love to review it, along with my footage, with you and the police since you, nor anyone of a managerial position were present. It's a principle, but because your mansplaining and ego are so exaggerated, you will never see that. Your chefs make this restaurant. I hope you know that. One star because my canned soda was really really cold. Do you want to eat at a BBQ place that only serves a good can of soda? I do not.... I got a bbq combo plate that was wrong in every way. One huge beef rib that looks enormous and tasty until you realize it is all bone; fat; gristle and sweet red sauce. I couldn't even pick one good piece of meat off the bone. Between gristle and fat an occasional treasure was a piece of meat surrounded by the flavor of old grease and sweetness that does not resemble BBQ sauce flavor in any way. One small pork rib that was 80%fat 20% bone. Seriously where is the meat? Half of a tired dry sausage link with fake black grill marks because this thing hasn't seen a grill...more like a microwave for long enough to completely dry it out and then smothered in more sweet red sauce to cover it up. 1/4 piece of chicken that wasn't even browned on the outside and raw in the middle. Again covered in the same red sweet mess that seems to be the cover-all for everything your order. Side of Macaroni and cheese. The macaroni was so over cooked that the entire thing was just a scoop of mush; oh yes...and best served cold; at least that is how I got it. You could not readily identity what was supposed to be a noodle and what was the flavorless sauce that resembled white gravy more than it did any kind of cheese. Piece of garlic bread...that was pretty tasty..hot garlic toast. Could have eaten that but they barely gave the size of a quarter of a slice of bread... I guess that is how they offer it as an item that is included with your meal Overall I spent $20 on this joke of a meal. I could have just bought the can of soda and saved myself $19 and a bad meal. Took one star off because I had a Groupon, called in my order, went to pick it up and by the time I got there they said they stopped taking Groupons and I had to pay full price. Now, starting us off we sat at the table of our choice, complimentary salted roasted peanuts place before us, we were hooked. The waiter was a chipper fellow, he asked us "Anything to wet your whistle?" I was right at home:) We asked about menu, waiter was awesome in answering our inquiries about combos. We got baby back ribs and chicken, a bottled import beer and an endless fountain drink...$32 which is cool because of the amount of food we got. The Ribs! My husband suggested this place as he used to go there 15 years ago. I should have known something was amiss when there were only two people sitting in the whole place. The young lady that served us was quite friendly, almost desperately friendly. It just felt over the top. The food came out quickly. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a loaded baked potato with pulled pork. I wanted to like it! The meat was incredibly bland without any hint of it having been made in a smoker. The 2 BBQ sauces were also bland as well. It didn't even smell like a BBQ place. Maybe owners have changed somewhere along the way? The owner really needs to visit some of the top BBQ spots so they can see the difference in taste and then work to offer that to their customers. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more

Let me start by saying wife's birthday during the lockdown. BBQ was the challenge. I work in Burbank for 15 years and always overlooked Ribs USA...my bad... I called early and asked a dozen questions. Called back to order. It was ready in 20 minutes. Very helpful and friendly, and great price. That was the first part, now get it home for the taste test. We ordered a lot of different items, actually just in case something didn't work. It ALL worked. Tri tip, pulled chicken, BBQ nachos, burger, chicken tenders and sides lots of sides. All gone, no leftovers and no bad dish. Everything was great. I kick myself for any time we ordered from Dicky's. No more. Ribs USA will be our go to BBQ spot, and I see lots of BBQ in my future.
