    Presidential Plate Rack of Ribs
    Anaiah S.

This place rivals any place I've been to in Texas and Mississippi (fighting words, I know). Fall of the bone goodness and the best BBQ sauce I've ever had! And I feel weird raving about bean, but, my stars these are the best baked beans I have ever ever had. Do yourself a favor and stop by or order on DoorDash some amazing and well priced BBQ!

#2 lunch special 1/2 Half Rack of Baby Back Ribs and Collard Greens
    Leslie S.

Had the lunch special #2 1/2 rack baby back ribs and 4 oz collard greens 13.99 Perfect size and the ribs fell off the bone Collard greens were very good The waitress was very nice and the food came out fast and fresh. This is a must do!!

Proof that on their own website ordering platform combo B offers EITHER cornbread OR garlic bread

If you want to deal with a RUDE person for mediocre food that has continued to go downhill... then this is your place. They offer one thing on the ordering website, then say it's not included and charge you for it when you go to pick it up. Not sure if management has changed, but after going here for so many years.. I'm done! And if you're looking for GOOD bbq and GOOD service ... RUN right past this place! Update: the owner responded immediately and tried to downplay my issue. First, they were EXTREMELY rude to my son. Second, if you changed your policy, then you need to update your ordering website as well since it clearly states that the COMBO B comes with CORNBREAD OR GARLIC BREAD. See attached photo stating this. Third, despite being rude my son was kind and rounded up , but if you consider $.15 a tip, then your business is truly in trouble. Good luck keeping customers! 2nd update: Ha!! Point made!!

The only downer was the incredibly rude hostess. She spoke rudely to us upon arrival. And even more rudely upon our departure. She rudely chastised us saying that we weren't supposed to leave through the same door we entered the dining room through. We were amazed at her rudeness. She appeared to dislike her job. She would be the only reason we wouldn't come back. My wife and I spent a hundred and twenty five dollars there. Well worth the spend, even though she almost wrecked it. The drinks are amazing! You don't have to wonder if they put alcohol in them lol! Bravo!

At first sight, the place is decorated like a shipwreck-turned-tropical-turnto. Very nice. That's about as high a praise as I'll go. The drinks were average as Southern California tiki goes. The grog was not made with a grog mix. The rum barrel was tasty enough - though served in a hurricane glass. I'm no snob, but tiki is attention to detail. What I care about most is what I didn't get: great service. Staff are friendly.. when they notice you. Hey, I'm a regular at a different tiki bar. Priority service is a tangential bonus. Staff doesn't ignore newcomers for my sake. I wish it was the same here. 3/5 stars. I want it to be great. It's just good.

First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. The food and cafe de olla are worth it.

I came with a friend who is a regular and she gave me a lot of good recommendations of what to order. The menu is quite large, filled with tons of delicious Mexican breakfast options! I'm a big machaca fan, so that's what I ordered. As an appetizer, we got the molletitos with chorizo and OMG! It was absolutely delicious. I got to taste my friend's huevos divorciados and the sauce was so delicious. My machaca was different than what I have had at other restaurants, a little on the dry side, but I enjoyed it. Loved the rice and beans it came with! Another highlight was the Cafe de Olla itself! I think I downed like 4 cups of it, it was so delicious. Service here was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Don't forget your wallet, as you're in the hundo range, per person, once that crisp napkin is placed in your lap. Worth it? Yes! A beautiful, beautiful restaurant with a classic (and classy) dining room, private rooms that look very cosy (and were all full when I stopped in for a birthday dinner), and a mile long bar with booths, tables and of course the bar. From the host/hostess stand to the servers to the runners, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Valet and tons of street parking adjacent if you're not in heels. It's a steak house at its core, but do not sleep on the salmon -- super delicious and you're getting the omega-3 fatty acids for healthmaxxing. Robbie B tip: the happy hour. There wasn't any noticeable music during our visit, which made it easy to have a conversation. Parking is essentially valet only, so that made getting there a bit more difficult. One thing worth mentioning is that the staff came by to take a complimentary photo of our group. It's a nice gesture, but afterward they offer to sell it in a souvenir frame which felt a little salesy. I started with the house Pinot Noir, which was smooth, easy to drink, and reasonably priced compared to the rest of the wine list. For food, I ordered the 8 oz Prime Rib cooked medium rare along with the garlic cheesy bread for the table. The garlic bread was easily my favorite part of the meal. It had a soft, cheesy interior with a crisp, golden crust, and the cheese and garlic were well balanced without feeling too heavy. The prime rib had good flavor and was cooked to the requested temperature. It was juicy overall, though a few bites were a little chewier than I expected. Still, it was an enjoyable steak and satisfying for the portion size. I would recommend this as a date night or special occasion category rather than an everyday dinner. It's on the expensive side, but between the atmosphere, attentive service, and decent food, it's a place I may consider returning to when celebrating something.
