The Rosé Pasta was the standout for me--rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Cold Buckwheat Noodles were light, refreshing, and perfect for balancing out the richer dishes. The Cheese Wang Donkatsu lived up to its name with its gooey, melty cheese filling, and it was an instant favorite with the kids. As for the Spicy Cold Noodles, they weren't as spicy as expected, but they were still incredibly flavorful and refreshing. Overall, this spot easily earns a 10/10 from me. Tried the rose donkatsu and the cheesy potato pancake. The donkatsu itself was excellent--perfectly flaky and crispy on the outside while staying juicy and tender inside. It wasn't overcooked or overly soft, just cooked perfectly. The rose pasta, however, was a bit underwhelming. It wasn't bad by any means, but it tasted a little plain. I felt like it needed a bit more seasoning, whether that was salt, pepper, garlic, or something else to make the sauce more flavorful. I was expecting a little more from it. The cheesy potato pancake was the absolute star of the meal. It was like a gourmet fusion hash brown with a variety of delicious dipping sauces. The outside was incredibly crispy while the potatoes inside stayed soft and fluffy. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it was easily my favorite dish. Service was also quick. The donkatsu came out very fast, while the potato pancake took a little longer, which made sense since it was cooked fresh. We came as a group of 8 with a reservation. This restaurant is massive with a giant room in the back that can accommodate much larger parties. They specialize in katsu so of course we had to order their spicy pork katsu! The pork was crispy, tender, and very large. The spicy sauce was a bit underwhelming/ basic. The soup it came with was also interesting.. very heavy on the cream. Perhaps just not my preference. I was a bit surprised to see so many pasta options, which was fine since I was craving it anyway. This was on my watch list for a long while. Decided I was tired of waiting on people and decided to just go. Sometimes you just gotta go or else it will never happen. Table for one please :-). Came in on a Friday for a late lunch. Parking is plentiful. Although it was past 1PM there were still quite a few tables taken. I was quickly seated at a table. As soon as I was seated, I was served a carafe of iced water, a glass and a menu. Each table has an electronic menu to order from. I ordered the pork katsu and fish. A few minutes after submitting said order I was served my banchan of various kimchee's and their soup. That corn soup looks very unassuming but is so delicious, I could have had seconds. My entree came out pretty quickly and that pork katsu was huge. It almost took over that entire plate. It came out with a side of rice, pasta salad and cabbage slaw. The server asked if I wanted a side of extra sauce but I felt the sauce that pooled on top of my saucer of a katsu was sufficient. My fried fish was garnish with their tartar sauce. My fish was golden and crisp and the fish inside was piping hot and flaky. My pork was pounded thin but was not dry and the outer later was crispy and that sauce was exactly what it needed. To be paired with that slaw and pasta salad was pure heaven! I'll be back because I need to try the rose pasta and the cream pasta. The portion is huge, and comes with a side of sauce or spicy sauce. The pork was almost on the dry side, and the spicy sauce was not spicy. I'd prefer if they served it with a curry. The pasta that other people around us got looked very fresh and good. The katsu with cheese was really nice because it added a little more salt that the plain katsu needed. When we came at around 6pm on a Saturday, there was no wait with a few tables still open. Ordering was on a tablet and food comes out pretty quickly. We tried the half & half pork katsu and the rose pasta with katsu. I really like the rose pasta, it was creamy with great flavor. The katsu was really crispy, but i just wish i could've gotten chicken with my pasta instead of pork. The half & half comes with corn pottage that is very delicious but the rice to pork ratio is so off. If you dine in, you can get more sauce free of charge, not sure if it's the same with rice. Saw this on Instagram and immediately added it to my foodie wishlist to try the next time I was in the South Bay. Surprisingly, the clam chowder was so good - chunky, full of clams, tasty! My dad, who is pretty critical, said it was better chowder than Sam's in HMB. Everything came out pretty fast, and when you eat it right away, the donkatsu is hot and crispy. Portions are huge and after a while of stuffing your face with meat, you do get full pretty fast. Love that we can order on iPads and ask for service through there too. We tried Golden Wang Donkatsu and overall had a good experience. I got the half and half donkatsu, which was supposed to be half savory sauce and half sweet/spicy sauce. It came a little differently than described or pictured: the thicker savory sauce covered the entire pork cutlet, and the spicy sauce came in a small bowl on the side. It was still fine, but the sauces themselves were not too memorable. The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy though, and I'd definitely recommend asking for the sauce on the side if you want to keep it that way. The meal also came with cream soup, pickled sides, a scoop of rice, and a small salad. We also tried the pork and fish katsu. The pork was the same cutlet with the same savory sauce, while the fish had tartar sauce on top. The fish was also fried well and had a nice crispy exterior. Service was great. The staff were very nice and attentive, and ordering from the touchscreen display at the table was really convenient. I always appreciate when restaurants have that setup. AM SO HAPPY we finally got to try this place!! Went here before a show at SAP Center and I'm so thankful this place is open all day so we can come in for an early dinner. You basically order on a screen so while I had hoped to get the fish donkatsu with the rose pasta there's no way to mix and match so i got the rose pasta with the obligatory pork donkatsu. And for me it was a huge hit. The rose sauce was DELICIOUS with perfectly cooked al dente noodles and a great sauce accompaniment for the pork tonkatsu which ran a bit thin for me but wasn't too dry. Hubby got the Shrimp and Pork Donkatsu - and he devoured it. It came with a small scoop of macaroni salad (SUPER small scoop - like tablespoon), rice and a cabbage slaw - both typical of tonkatsu places. Hubby really enjoyed it though he wished he got sauce on the side cause it made the pork donkatsu a bit soggy. HUGE portions and they butterfly the two pieces of shrimp. The prices of the food here are generally more than $20, but when you see the portion, you'll definitely see that it is worth the price. The staff here are quick, attentive, and kind. We decided to get a golden wang donkatsu and a spicy wang donkatsu to share. Portion sizes were good and the mac salad was quite nice. However, the sauce for the wang donkatsu was salty and the spicy sauce tasted like a yangnyum chicken sauce with sambal added into it. It wasn't my taste, unfortunately. Before the katsus come out, they give you the og Korean mushroom soup and honestly that was the best part of our meal... For $25 I thought this dish was gonna be overpriced, but the portion is quite large. Flavorwise everything is really solid and I personally liked the portioning of the sides, where some people may want more. Everything was light and crispy, and the flavors were on point. The Rose pasta on the other hand was a bit interesting. It is a whole lake of sauce which is interesting. The pasta and the sauces were pretty good and creamy, but I felt like they would've been better if the temperature was warmer. They were both lukewarm which I felt like took away from the experience a bit. The soup that came with the entrees was like a creamy potato soup which was suuuper creamy, to where it felt like I was drinking a sauce. It also came with some side dishes which went well with the entrees and added acidity. I love a fusion moment so I was glad I got to try this spot once. Not mindblown but a solid hearty meal. A genuinely delicious experience. I visited on a Monday afternoon, and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The interior was inviting and relaxing. Their decor is beautiful - they have a whole plant wall at the entrance. They also have two separate rooms of seating, which comes in handy during peak hours. You order through a screen, which makes the whole process easy and streamlined. Our food arrived shortly after ordering. The service was efficient. I was obsessed with every single dish I tried. The rosé pasta donkatsu was my absolute favorite - the rosé sauce was so creamy and rich. The donkatsu was fried to perfection, with a crispy exterior and soft interior. I also really enjoyed the shrimp katsu, accompanied by macaroni salad, Korean slaw, and a savory sauce. All of the katsu I tried had a great texture. The kimchi fried rice was another highlight - every bite was filled with flavor, and there was a fried egg on top. I enjoyed all the dishes I tried, and I can't wait to visit again! read more

New restaurant with dedicated parking lot, large spacious interior with plenty of seating, and friendly + attentive service. We were seated right away on a weekday dinnertime. Ordering is done through an iPad so it was efficient and convenient. Cold soba noodles: refreshing soba noodle dish went well with the heavier rose pasta dish. Overall very umami soba broth and flavorful, a tad saltier than my liking. I felt this dish was a bit overpriced given there isn't any protein, but it tasted good nonetheless. Rose pasta donkatsu: delicious! The katsu is light, flaky, and extremely tender. They gave so much sauce, and it was flavorful and creamy yet not overpowering. The noodles were done al dente. It seems their portion on the katsu varies a lot - looking through photos on Yelp of the cream pasta katsu dishes, you can see a wide discrepancy of portion size of the katsu and number of pieces. Hopefully their portions get a bit more consistent over time. I'll be back to try their classic golden katsu, but overall this seems a promising new restaurant with great katsu! read more

Ambiance: nice lighting, spacious feel. Very modern with tablets on every table for easy ordering. Comfortable booth seating with wide tables. Service: We weren't checked on much, but you are able to order food and call staff as needed using the tablet, so I think that was intentional. Think this place is more of a "we'll leave you alone to enjoy your meal. Ring if you need us" type of establishment. However, staff was nice and welcoming. Food: I felt like the menu was very limited. We ordered family style, but the menu items mainly consisted of plates just featuring donkatsu or shrimp, so there weren't many options once you chose one donkatsu dish. Felt like it was all the same, minus the base it came with (rice vs pasta). Wish the appetizers selection was broader as well (calamari would have been a nice touch to this korean-italian fusion place). - Rose pasta donkatsu - 3.5/5 donkatsu had a nice crunch and was moist, but the pasta it came with just tasted like regular spaghetti. We expected a bit more uniqueness. Definitely looks better than it tastes. - Garlic bread - 3/5 nothing wrong with it. Just tasted like average garlic bread - Complimentary sides: picked veggies and corn soup. I liked the soup. We are family that love donkatsu and we are excited to try this place located in Santa Clara. We tried and love: - Korean cheese tonkatsu - the cheese was so melty and tonkatsu was crunchy - Cream pasta with tonkatsu - Rose pasta was delicious, pasta was cooked al dente. - Golden wang tonkatsu - this is their signature tonkatsu and if you wonder what to order for first timer, you should order this one. - Soup of the day is always different, they make fresh soup everyday. My favorite is their mushroom corn soup. Customer service was attentive, but you order directly from the ipad on the table. Parking is plenty, but can be crowded during rush hour. We came to try Golden Wang Donkatsu shortly after they opened, and the first thing that surprised us was how huge the portions were. The Half & Half Donkatsu was honestly much bigger than we expected and could easily be shared. My favorite was the Cream Pasta with Tonkatsu. I had never tried pork cutlet served on top of creamy pasta before, but it actually worked really well. The cutlet was crispy without being too oily, and the meat inside was still tender. The sauce was creamy and rich, so it felt very comforting. We also ordered the tteokbokki, cold buckwheat noodles, and olive oil with baguette. The cold noodles were especially nice to balance out the heavier fried dishes. They also serve a different complimentary soup each day, and we got corn soup during our visit. Overall, the food was tasty, the portions were very generous, and the menu had a lot more variety than I expected. I would definitely recommend coming with a group so you can order a few different things and share. read more

Delicious donkatsu spot! Came in on a weekday for lunch and there was plenty of seating inside. They give you physical menus but you can also view it on the little screen they have. You can order items and also call for servers on the screen, which is convenient and nice. Service was great overall. Our food came out hot and fresh. My cheese donkatsu was huge and personally I love that the cheese is melted on top versus some other donkatsu spots that fill a little katsu boat with cheese. This way, I'm able to get a good ratio of meat and cheese. The salad was also delicious and I liked the pasta salad. I wish they gave a little more rice and pasta salad as a carb lover, but the wang donkatsu portions make up for it. The rose pasta with donkatsu was pretty good but the portion was a little smaller than anticipated. The pork and fish katsu my dad enjoyed. The pork katsu was more of a standout versus the fish katsu, which was just okay. They also give banchan which has pepperonis, radish kimchi, yellow pickled radish, and pickles. The soup of the day was corn soup and it was delicious. We also placed two wang donkatsu for togo and the packaging was great. All the banchan and hot items were separated. The portions were still huge and plenty. They gave a good amount of rice, banchan, and sauce for the katsu. The donkatsu heated up very well in the air fryer and my husband said it was delicious despite it being reheated. I'll definitely be back. Parking can be a little tricky as it's next to a lot of popular spots. The food and service were great. Give this spot a try! read more

Checked out this new restaurant and it was well worth it. It was fairly busy for Fri lunch but service was very efficient and polite. Started with complimentary banchan and soup - it's like a creamy mushroom soup which is really yummy. We got the half and half Donkatsu - basically half regular sauce and half spicy sauce - and the cream pasta with shrimp. Both were really good with big portions and I agree with others that I think the pasta outshines the Donkatsu. While I thought the cream pasta was really good, I do think it starts tasting monotonous after a while and I had to eat it with the kimchi to keep it interesting. So I have a feeling that I would prob like the rose sauce better. Also curious to try the omurice. This meal was def not cheap - $60 after tip - but I suppose that is the state of eating out these days - just glad that the portions were big enough for leftovers. Also beware that this parking lot can be very challenging, even on a weekday. read more
