I've been ordering Rice from Uber Eats for about 6 months. This is the second time I select their BOGO free meal and they only make 1 meal. The first time this happened, Rice said I needed to complain to uber. So I did, only to be left with no solution by Uber. This second and last time this happened, I called uber right away, with the same result. I went over to the Coral Gables Rice, and asked them if this has happened to others. They replied yes, like it's a very common thing. I asked to speak with their manager, but they were off duty. I asked, if uber isn't taking responsibility, and the establishment is using uber to make sales, but knowingly defrauding customers, who should take responsibility? They kind of shrugged and said that it's Ubers fault. In conclusion, I'd say uber probably has more fault, but Rice knowingly continues to promote this BOGO and not deliver on their part. I never leave a review, but this was one of the times I have to let others know about how to avoid getting duped. read more

Rice Mediterranean Kitchen offers via Doordash $12 meals which include salad, Hummus, pita, rice and your choice of meat (braised brisket, chicken, spicy chicken, or falafel). We opted for the braised brisket and the regular chicken. I also added an order of falafel. Pick up was super easy. I showed up early before they opened up for service and they were just cranking out plenty of Doordash orders. The ambiance was organized chaos. They definitely have a system down packed. For the $12, I feel you get a good value. Both the chicken and braised brisket were moist and everything else tasted very fresh. It also comes with Sumac sauce which adds a nice zing to the meal. My only drawback would be on the falafels. They seemed a little dry to me but I'm no falafel expert by any means so maybe that's how they usually are. We pretty much had the place to ourselves since it was later at night but it seemed like they were getting a bunch of take out orders. It was on the menu and when I asked for it they said fries would be a separate item and extra cost. I am giving this place one star because the customer service was extremely poor. The food itself was okay, but the service ruined the experience. I ordered a falafel plate, but the person taking my order insisted that I had ordered chicken instead. I corrected him three times and clearly stated that I wanted falafel, not chicken. Despite that, I was still served a chicken plate. When I pointed out the mistake, they initially argued that I had ordered chicken. Eventually they agreed to replace it with falafel, but the whole interaction felt unnecessary and frustrating. A simple correction without the argument would have made a big difference. read more

Met my siblings here in Coral Gables, had not been together before the restaurant, but we all 4 became sick right after eating. I been frequenting Rice well before the re-branding, when it was known as Rice: House of Kabob, and have witnessed their growth across the metro area. Referring to the Coral Gables site, this place has good Persian food and is located at a nice spot along Giralda Avenue. However, all it takes is for one action to tarnish years of patronage. That action was taken by an employee at this locale, which completely took away any interest whatsoever in this place that offended me so greatly that I would not eat there, even if I were given whatever I wanted for free. On Friday, April 19, 2024, I went to buy lunch at Rice that consisted of a vegetable soup. I ordered the soup and I got it, but I got not even a spoon to accompany it. So I asked the woman on-duty if I could have a spoon and a piece of bread to accompany my soup. She looked at me as though I were asking her for a free meal and said no, that if I wanted any bread, no matter how small, then I needed to pay for it. This raises a bigger question of where are we as a society? A successful restaurant raking in big-time is so petty and miserly so as not to even give a piece of bread for a soup. Every venue I have been to that sells soup offers either bread or crackers of some kind to use as a dip. The fact I asked for a small piece or two to accompany my soup, really is degrading enough as it is. To be told by this employee that she couldn't give even that and that I needed to buy an entire pita bread round is offsetting. I have seen a lot of parsimonious actions done by restaurants and eateries but this by far takes frugality to the next level. Naturally, this ordeal took away any appetite I had that day and caused me to not enjoy this soup. I will never visit this location again because I do not want to spend my hard-earned money at a place where people think as selfishly as this. The action of this woman is shameful and really paints a negative picture of this location, and the other sites owned by Rice. read more

2nd update! WOW. They asked me to delete my bad review, the one mentioning mold.. When I didn't delete the reviews, they deactivated the gift card!!!!!!! So not only does this place gladly sell molding food, they try to force you into keeping quiet by ONLY offering a partial refund if I remove the reviews FIRST! This restaurant is just fine. A few things I really don't like 1) no tap/ice water available. 2) weird setup where one kind of food is offered to the left (bowls) and the other to the right (plates). Rice was excellent. Sirloin kebab was super disappointing. Oily and generally flavorless. Chicken Kebob was nice, as was the hummus. They've shifted the concept and expanded and while the kabobs are incredible, the Bowls are also great. You can still get kabobs and I recommend them for sure. But the customization and ease of the bowls can't be beat. You start with a base, protein, toppings, hummus and finally sauces. I went with: Rice Beef Veggies (tomato, onions, cucumbers) Sauces (go with their homemade cream based sauce) Hummus (had a carrot one and regular) The bowls are huge and filling. My favorite go-to proteins are the roasted vegetables (which are actually SOOOOOO good) and the spicy chicken. But to be completely honest, it's all amazing. The beef, lamb, falafel -- no matter what you get, you won't regret it. And lastly, the TOPPINGS. As many as you want! Chickpeas, tomatoes, olives, onions, amongst others. I've never really had much Mediterranean food before so the dipping sauces, protein, toppings, & finishing sauces were all so foreign to me. She let us sample anything we wanted & even offered her personal favs. Everything was amazing, I actually had a hard time choosing. Her help was much appreciated & good service makes such a difference in a dining experience so thank you, Andrea! Now with all the choices, sometimes putting a bunch of our favorite things together doesn't mean that it's going to taste amazing. BUT this was the one instance it did. I had the hummus, carrot tahini (I think it's called) & the Greek yogurt sauce. I had half brown rice & half artisan salad. The slow roasted chicken. Then topped it with some cucumbers, onions, & cabbage. This was all in a bowl and it was DELICIOUS. I had two extra sauces on the side but I didn't even need them.
