So I didn't really know what to expect, other than awesomeness, which is what everyone told me. So I finally passed by at night and gave it a try. Let's start off by saying that everyone was great and the staff was super, super friendly. And that's considering that we ate in and they were about to close, which is never the best time for good service. Now down to the good stuff. My wife had the shredded chicken and it was super flavorful and juicy. I had the grain and greens bowl with lentils, which was delicious. I added falafel and veggies and both were delicious. Great place to come for fast food Mediterranean food. You can pick from a few base plates and then add X number of things from different categories. I got the salad and black lentils base (called green and grain). Then added veggies and falafel balls along with 2 scoops of yogurt and another one than you can add other things (avacado will be extra though) I was only planning to eat 1/4 of the bowl because I wasn't feeling well. First I would like to say that I've been eating at Rice House of Kabobs since 2013 that they had one location in 14th and Alton. This was one of my favorite restaurants which I would have lunch almost every day for years. Last night I had a very bad experience with the Coral Gables location. One of those situations that was almost insulting and I will never step foot or order from Rice House of Kabobs again. Yesterday, I had been working for 15 hours straight, I'm dieting and didn't have a meal for over 7 hours (I eat every 3 hours). Looking for something healthy to eat I realized they had opened a location close to my house so I decided to order. First, I could not find the Combo III, so I ordered the rice and Sirloin platter and two sides of chicken. My total bill was $41. The estimated delivery time was 45 minutes. After about an HOUR AND TEN MINUTES, the food arrives. I WAS STARVING!!! I went through so many emotions when I opened my food! First, I got so angry, I was so hungry that just looking at what they sent I almost starting crying. The picture really doesn't do any justice. They sent me about 2.5 ounces of meat per order (Normally I've been served between 5-7 ounces. The pieces of meat were miniature and to top it off the food was ice cold. I am a business owner myself and I hope my business never gets too big that I can't keep the integrity of my product. This is what I feel that is happening with this company, rapid growth in locations but a decline in product quality. What a shame! read more

I frequently order Mediterranean style food, and this was the smallest order I've received. My chicken platter had 5 tiny pieces of chicken that I could pop into my mouth whole. At first I was slightly skeptical of eating here. I had this idea that it would be uber healthy aka non flavorful and just not really exciting. I was completely and absolutely wrong about my thought and so happy I checked this place out as it's freaking amazing. The inside is huge. The concept is basically a Mediterranean chipotle. You pick your base- grains, (basmati rice, brown rice or lentils), greens (romaine, super greens, or mesclun) or a pita wrap. Once that's decided you pick your dips. I got the hummus, sumac and tahini. You get two proteins- mine were chicken (non spicy) and falafel. Then add on as many veggies as you'd like. I got cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese (a vegetable to me), and chick peas. For my sauces I got the tahini and sumac on the side which I then dumped all over my bowl because both were amazing. They have this amazing craft soda fountain- a drink is $2.95 but believe me, you're gonna get refills. The cream soda is out of this world. I also tried their strawberry hibiscus tea which is unsweetened, I needed that after all the soda sugar. Phenomenal drinks. The rice bowl was super filling, but without leaving my stuffed to the gills. The staff was really nice. I kept asking the girl questions about the food as I ordered and she was more than happy to answer. It's a comfortable eating spot so you can chill after consuming your bowl and just relax. There was a lot of Shakira playing on the radio which was an added bonus too, if you like Shakira I guess. Feel free to add extra dips, avocado, extra grains- whatever you want (All at an additional cost). Everything was fantastic. If it were closer to me I'd be in trouble. I got a grains and lettuce bowl as my base and added the honey nut feta and hummus (you can have 3 scoops from the dip/spread section). I also was able to try the Greek yogurt sumac which was also delicious! For my protein I got the braised beef and slow cooked chicken breast. Personally I liked the braised beef better it was more seasoned. And then to top it off I put feta, onions, carrots, and cabbage with the sumac dressing on top. All of it was absolutely delicious! If ordering not from their Chipotle style ordering system you are shewed away to a front desk ordering area that is piled up with customers and then shewed to their automated system that is a completely different experience than the menu displayed above. You can't find anything on the above menu as it is not labeled the same on the touch screen pos system. I ended up spending close to $20 for lunch and i didnt even get the thing i wanted because it wasnt listed. Overall the food was yummy good, but the overall experience of being pushed out of their assembly line having to fend for myself was disappointing. Why can't Mediterranean fast casual places in California be as good as Rice Mediterranean Kitchen?!?! I stopped by here on a weekday night around 9:30 to grab a quick bite to eat. I loved the fact that you can build your own bowl, but what I loved the most was the amazing fixings. I built my bowl with mesclun, Greek yogurt sumac, Hummus, slow cooked chicken breast, cucumbers, onions, shredded carrots, red cabbage, avocado, and lemon tahini. The service was great, the food was great... I absolutely loved this place. I wished I had more chances to eat here when I was in town, but I will definitely be back in the future. read more

Let's face it. There are plenty of food places popping all over Miami offering "make your own bowls". Rice however, is one of my favorites in Coral Gables. Every time I come here, the store is always clean and the food displays are very organized. I also like the industrial earthy design of the dining room. Lots of seating arrangements both indoors and outdoors. As far as the bowls, I like mixing up Black Lentils and Artisan Super Greens for base. (You can also opt for a pita roll version instead of a bowl.). Then I go heavy on the dips and spreads. I love the Sriracha Tomato Hummus, Smokey Eggplant Harissa, and Charred Carrot Tahini. For protein, the Braised Beef is my favorite but I like the Braised Lamb too (extra $2). They are both very flavorful. If I don't feel like eating meat, the falafel is also very tasty. For the final toppings, this is where I really go crazy cause I love veggies! I normally just tell the friendly servers to put everything except for olives. The crumbled feta is a must for that extra punch. The bowl only comes out to $13 with tax and trust me, it's very filling. I always have left overs so I take it back to work to eat later in the evening. I'm a big fan of Rice. The food is always fresh, the service is always fast and polite and it's affordable. I try to come here at least once a week especially if I get a long lunch or picking up food for my coworkers :) read more

Seems like the House of Kabob has had a makeover. And I am a fan of the new look and taste. Been to the previous House of Kabobs a few times. The food was pretty good. However, along with the name change, there also is a change to better, fresher food with more options to customize your plate, or shall I say bowl. I do have to say when first walked in I thought I was in a Zuuks! Right down to the use of the real sugar, smaller batched soda fountain. Not that that's a bad thing. The food is improved, though I am still kinda side-eyeing that falafel. The outside is crispy, but the inside is still a bit too dense for my liking. The Black lentil is superb though. And it's namesake... the rice is soft and fluffy. The toppings are all delicious too. The different hummus' and feta spreads are worth trying. The veggies aren't too oily either. Sooooo yummy. I don't know if this is actually authentic because I am not from the Mediterranean however this food is extremely tasty and the portion is out of control. I ordered chicken and beef bowl (you can mix and match) with rice and veggies. Then I added feta cheese and they added their special sauce on top. As you can see it was huge, 2 people can share this and still get stuffed. I also got a wine and the total was $17. It was a fast food service, just like chipotle. So if you are really hungry and want to grab something quick this is a great spot. I came on a Friday at 6p and it was not slammed with people. Rice house of kabob changed my life! I was introduced to this place a few years ago in South Beach. I have never stopped going since then. They only use the freshest ingredients and made to order food. Food can take a little bit more time to be ready but that is because they cook everything right when you order! They offer affordable lunch menus so if you work close to one of them you could eat there everyday of the week! The best way to describe this place is the mediterranean version of Chipotle! SO good and loads of toppings! First you start by choosing the base for your bowl: basmati rice, brown rice, black lentils, or salad (and three different lettuce options, might I add). The best part is you can do a half/half option, so I usually opt for half lettuce and half basmati rice. Next you choose what types of spreads you want, and you get an option of 3: Hummus, Sriracha Tomato Hummus, Honey Nut Feta, Greek Yogurt Sumac, Charred Carrot Tahini, Smokey Eggplant Harissa. All of them are amazing and have incredible flavor. My absolute favorite being the Greek yogurt sumac. Then we get to the meats! You get two scoops, so you can choose two different options if you want to spread the love with the proteins. The options include: Slow Cooked Chicken Breast, Braised Beef, Falafel, Roasted Seasonal Veggies, Braised Lamb (+$2), Harrisa Roasted Chicken. The harissa chicken has a kick to it, but definitely one of my faves. The braised beef is also exceptional. Now we get to the good stuff; LOADS of toppings. Kalamata Olives, Tomato, Shredded Romaine, Crumbled Feta, Cucumbers, Onion, Red, Cabbage, Shredded Carrots, Pickled Banana Peppers, Lemon Wedge, Organic Chickpeas. There is also avocado available, for a small price, of course. You can add as much as you want to get your bowl fully loaded. Lastly, you can top it off with their sauces: Sumac Sauce, Spicy Sumac, Lemon Tahini, Harissa Vinaigrette, Lemon-Infused Olive Oil. All are really great, but again, harissa has a bit of a kick of spice.
