We stopped here for a quick dinner. First assessment, the feeling of the place is that of an unfinished warehouse, thus lots of noise if generated. Next the service, well, it was ok for counter service. We got waited on pretty quickly, though the wait for the food was not short. Several orders preceded ours. So, the noise level was not comfortable. Now the food ... I had the adana kebab with rice and salad. The rice, I wish my basmati rice would come out as good as theirs! The Grilled Veggie Platter has earned a spot in my Food Hall of Fame; fresh grilled mushroom, tomato, zucchini, squash and onion on a bed of that unbelievable basmati rice. Now the dipping sauce deserves a paragraph all its own. I think it's made with garlic and angel tears. Its like a culinary catalyst to food euphoria. However, you might want to make sure you have some mouthwash or a mint handy if you're hoping for a goodnight kiss at the end of a dinner date. I also especially like the bathrooms. Seriously, they're always clean and smell good and everything is automatic to expedite any pre or post meal rituals. Obviously I am missing something that everyone else experienced... I got delivery last night from RICE. The boy and I split the Chenjeh and the Koobideh wrap. And while we ate everything (two stars for edible!), I was not impressed. The grape leaves were good. The meat wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly flavorful... plus, I found a huge vein of gristle running through my biggest chunk of meat, which was a letdown. And the lettuce looked like it'd had a rough weekend. Also, when we ordered, they said it would take one hour. Totally understandable, given that it was Sunday night. But when we called back after an hour and 15 min, just to innocently make sure our order WAS coming, the woman who answered the phone snapped, "I TOLD you an hour, it's ON ITS WAY" and slammed down the phone. ABSOLUTELY OVERPRICED!!! This place makes me mad to be Iranian! First of all the smallest container in the world of must-o-khiyar (yogurt with cucumber and spices) is $2! I'm talking like a tablespoon of this stuff...to make an entire carton of this (ie 50 tablespoons) would cost like $6-7! Secondly I have never been to an Iranian restaurant that serves ONE skewer of meat with rice! One chicken kabob with rice is $10.35! And if you add ONE skewer of kabob to that (combo I) it's $14! I reluctantly went for this option to try both the joojeh and kubideh kabob. The taste of the food is good, and I enjoyed the flavor of the meat. However, the cheapness and lack of authenticity of this entire place is very bothersome. My entire bill was $20 for one chicken, one kubideh, rice, 1tbsp yogurt and a doogh (yogurt soda). I could go to an Iranian BUFFET for $23 and get the same quality but 10x the quantity! These guys profit margins are better than Apple's! The most expensive slow fast food you'll eat in your life. They probably just need one person to order the "Super combo" to pay for the rent for a month. No Iranian eats one skewer of meat and the cost of chicken is so low that one skewer with rice for $10+ is a JOKE!!! Each meal should come with a MINIMUM of two skewers, especially for dinner! This is how every other Iranian restaurant does it. The poor joojeh kabob looks so lonely all by himself in the picture next to the rice. It's almost as if somebody photoshopped his brother, the other skewer of meat, out of the photo. You're pretty much paying for a ton of cheap rice and 4oz of meat. This place could have really helped further the Iranian community by introducing their food, but as many other people have said the prices here are so RIDICULOUS that as an Iranian myself I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody, unless they owed me money and I wanted them to lose it! Lastly there are no stews (which is primarily what authentic Iranian food is) they only sell kabobs, which I understand sell well in the West, but if you're looking for PERSIAN food it's not here. And the cherry on the cake is they play Indian music in the bathroom... I'm all for Indian music, but really dude?? There are thousands of Indian restaurants and only a handful of Iranian ones, PLAY PERSIAN MUSIC!! I love this place. OMG...The Abba rice is delicious - excellent combination of sweet and salty. Order it with the meat which is very tasty and soft, not chewy - great! I've also had the Veggie Melt & Veggie Delights - They're soooooooooooo good!!!! The portions are normal size, but large enough to fill you up. I normally just eat half of my plate and am satisfied. But my hubs eats the entire plate and is not disgustingly full. The hummus is pretty good, and the grape leaves are delicious :-) They're also open till 11 p.m. every night, which is great b/c I normally get out of the gym late. And the service is great, great, great!!! Everyone is super, super nice. They also deliver anywhere on the beach! read more

The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 stars is because of the construction. If you're not familiar with the area you're might end up lost, you have to park in the back ( if you can find it ) . I'm half Swiss. Let's ignore this fact for now and focus on the other half: Israeli. As in I have eaten enough felafel and hummus to fill the walls of Jerusalem. I spent a month in Israel living off Shwarma and felafel and kebabs for $5 dollars a day. My Jew-netics give me a schnoz for any type of deal, and my appetite for the food of my people is limitless. I mean, it's an easy meal to wait for while shopping at W next door so it's convenient, otherwise I don't think I would seek it out. I hate to say it. The sauce is good though. I wouldn't buy the shirazi salad again. Their hummus isn't my cup of tea. I love dolmeh but theirs only makes me long for good dolmeh of the past - still it satisfies my fix. All of the above is too bland for me. Where do you get good dolmeh in Miami? This is a great place for a low carb diet. You can get protein on top of salad; easy. Consistent with the rest of the menu, the meat is OK. I've tried all the different varieties, but it's not great. The ground sirloin and chicken are a little dry. The tenderloin isn't as tender as I would expect. The sauce is the savior of everything, pour it on. I like middle-eastern food and I can tell you that I've had much better. I wish my story were different. Overall Rice is a change of pace on the beach and a decent place to get food. If I was reviewing just the food alone, Rice probably would have received two stars. Unfortunately, their horrendous delivery service and lack of candidness dropped them down a mark. The Bad: Delivery took over an hour (I only live 8 blocks away). 45 minutes into the wait, when I called to voice my concern, I was told that the food was out for delivery and should be there in 5 minutes. I'm sure this guy was busy, but it was obvious to me that this was a generic response, and he really had not idea. Tell me upfront if the delivery is going to take more than 30 minutes. Also, don't lie to me. Finally, around an hour after my order was purchased, when the food arrived, everything was cold. Good thing I LOVE cold falafel. The Ugly: The steak was over cooked. The falafel was cold. Both salads had pieces of lettuce that were rotten. Picture a bag of lettuce (or head) that is two days past it's prime. Most of the lettuce is still good, just don't serve the bad portions to your customers. I ordered an extra side of regular rice. I was given rice with raisins, which I loathe. Could this place be good if the food is served fresh? Maybe. Do I think it could come anywhere close to making up for this sour experience? Absolutely not. read more

Perhaps the meat dishes are better. I had high hopes for this place (I know, that's such a Yelp cliche' thing to say). This place also came highly recommended by some neighbors. I give it props for trying to be healthy. The problem is that the food here tastes bland - the exact reason most people shy away from healthy food. I had the Rice's Veggie. When I got it, I was excited. It looked super delicious and the size was crazy big. Then I took my first bite and was sorely disappointed. It needed....taste. It seriously didn't taste like much of anything, and I proceeded to dump the ranchy dressing from the other dish we ordered onto my dish. Unfortunately the ranchy dressing wasn't very tasteful either, so it didn't do much to help the cause. My person had the Rice Melt, which he said was standard. Roasted veggies, cheese, some kind of blandish ranch dressing. I guess I was hoping since it was Persian inspired that they would put some freakishly awesome seasoning on their veggies. But no. They didn't. Also, the service was less than spectacular for sure. We had to stand there for 5 minutes while there was no one else in the restaurant, staring at the girl who was supposed to be taking our orders, as she talked on her cell phone in the back. I was craving something mysterious and Mediterranean, but with rice, so I ordered the Chicken Platter Joojeh. It was a great light meal. A great place to go for an inexpensive, healthy lunch or dinner. TIP: Opt for the platter. Among the Persian restaurants in Miami proper, ie, vincinity of Miami Beach / Downtown, this is the best one I've found. And between the two locations, I found that the Downtown location had better prepared the kabobs than the South Beach location. They actually even respond to their Facebook posts. In response to my post, I understand that the Downtown location will soon be delivering, if not already! Only reason they didn't when I wanted delivery was because they were in search for a new driver. I appreciate that they care to listen, especially in this town. I only wish that Rice made kabob barg instead of chengeh. A good barg dinner with a more homey family feel requires a drive south of Miami proper to a place called Shiraz. A Persian restuarant in South Beach?!? And it's GOOD! This Persian is in heaven. Seriously, peeps - the food here is tasty. Way better than any of the Persian I've had in NYC and comparable to a few places in LA (read: Tehranangeles). Order any of the kabobs - you can't go wrong. Only downside is their entrees come with only 1 piece of kabob instead of the customary 2 pieces. Kind of a downer when the meat's so good. I suggest ordering an additional side of kabob. Trust me, you'll thank me. In other notes: their Zhereshk is great if you like that sort of thing, and the mast-o-khiar is tdf...make sure to order the full app, not the side bc their sides are tiiiiny. Rice House of Kabob offers decent-sized portions for decent prices. I opted for the tenderloin wrap, and it came with a good amount of grilled meat, along with feta cheese and lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was accompanied by a pickle and a dolma (stuffed grape leaf), as well as a delicious tangy, creamy dipping sauce. I wasn't even all that hungry, but I couldn't get enough. I must say that I can't speak for the dolma, cause I'm not a big fan and general and didn't want to try it, but everything else was good. I'll definitely be going back. Also, I second Rob's comment about going after a workout - that's what my friend and I did, and we saw several other people who looked like they had the same idea. I live within walking distance, but finding parking along Alton or the side streets shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if you go during dinner hours. read more

I've walked by this establishment hundreds of times but never had a thought to walk in. Then my favorite resident ordered takeout and treated the gang to dinner giving us no choice but to partake. Any food joint with rice in its name cannot have good rice... or so I thought. The rice was neither soggy nor hard, it was well prepared. My favorite intern showed me how to pour in the white sauce on top of the rice making a delicious gooey amalgamation of goodness which tastes amazing on its own. Any food joint with kabob in its name cannot have good kabobs.... or so I thought. Although the aluminum takeout tin was sitting undefiled for an hour until I was able to take a break, the meat was still warm, moist, and tender. The outer layers of the kabobs are seared shut forming a barrier for the juices and fat smoldering inside ready to burst in your mouth. RICE House of Kabob, despite their name, exceeded my expectations considering it was take out. If you're ever walking by, peering in the windows, take a leap of faith and walk in. read more

Though the food quality is not as great a before, the prices now give you pause...and I used to come in almost every single evening, to the point that one of the previous managers would know how many days I would have missed being there.
