My previous experience at Richey's Tire Factory has been very good. That experience ended today and I will never go back. I took my car in for their free tire rotation. When the service person saw from my receipt the tires were purchased at another Tire Factory store he rudely and loudly said, "You purchased these from Portland. I don't like it when people buy their tires from another store and bring them here to be rotated! It will be at least 2 hours before I will help you.": I left in disgust over such rude customer service. They do not live up the service promised on their website, "... our warranties, protection, and service go beyond what the large national chains can provide." I have experienced NOT. read more

These guys are absolutely the best out there. I have used them for alignments on both of my cars and they have gone out of their way to be extremely honest and forthcoming about everything. I just recently took my Lexus in for an alignment and before charging me a penny, they pointed out some suspension parts that needed to be replaced. Knowing that replacing those suspension parts would throw my alignment out, they went out of their way and out of their own pocket to tell me about these issues. This auto shop is great. As a woman, I have the typical experience of many auto shops trying to screw me over in the assumption I'm ignorant. I may not have the knowledge breadth they have, but I have worked on many cars myself. Richey's never once tried to pull one over on me. I have taken three cars to them over the years and with each one they were honest, affordable, and always updated me when needed. They even showed me what was wrong with an alternator I thought was new, via the mechanic/used car salesman I had purchased the car from. It was clearly a cleaned, used one slapped on there. On the rare occasion (one electrical issue) they have not been able to fix the problem, they have never charged me. I have brought them a Dodge van, an older Cadillac and a Ford. Took my car in for an oil change recently. Shortly thereafter, we discovered an oil drip on our driveway. My son got underneath and discovered the engine oil drain plug was loose. Thank goodness we did as we might have had a real problem . All we ask is that the technicians double check the drain plug. Other than that, the service was great. read more

A flat tire led me calling a few friends in the area-Richie's was their recommendation. I called ahead of time asking if I needed an appointment and they said to come on down, upon arrival I was taken care of within minutes. The mechanic removed the tire and even showed me the nail as he removed and patched me up. In total it probably took less than 15 minutes total, and their helpful staff made it an enjoyable experience. The waiting area was also very cozy and warm, unlike some of the "back rooms" where they make people wait (also plenty of magazines for nosy people such as myself). Came here to get a couple of replacement tires for the Volvo. We needed them quick since we were leaving town. The tires were hard to find and this place came in within a few bucks of all the online searching I did. That alone is pretty good. These guys came through huge and had the tires orders, shipped, mounted and ready in about 24 hours - awesome. When I came to pick them up, there was a $60 difference in the price quoted and the bill. The boss came in, verified what I was quoted and without the slightest problem adjusted the bill down to the quote. Outstanding. Good customer service is one of the hardest things to find these days and these guys provide it in spades. They replaced the rack and pinion in my RAV4 after it failed, and it came with a 6 month warranty and a fair price. About 7 months later, the part failed and the vehicle started losing power stearing fluid. They said the part failed, and replaced it. I asked the service manager if it was still under warranty, and he said the part was one year but the labor was six months. Then he said that while it was longer than the warranty period, it broke "too soon" and told me not to worry about it! This place knows the value of building a relationship with a customer instead of milking them for a quick buck. They offer great service at a reasonable price. read more

I started over at Discount Tires. I got a nail in my tire and needed to get it repaired. I knew it could be patched. Keep in mind that my tires are still 90% tread and are in excellent condition. I went to Discount Tires and was told that the tire is unrepairable and I need four new tires. Of course, I knew better as this isn't my first time getting tires. I decided to take my business elsewhere. I came upon Richey's Points. As soon as I pulled up a young man came out and immediately helped me. He took a look at the tire. He repaired in seconds and said it was an easy fix. I waited for approximately 10 minutes and was treated with respect and honesty. I will 100% return to Richey's Points for future business. What year is this? First I must say this review is way overdue & the visit was a few months ago. I found the business card in my wallet that I originally grabbed with the name "DON" on the back so I would not forget to review but then I did. :( This place was amazing & I had to come back & write my review! I was having a very bad day & just bought a new car from the last place I will ever visit again. New Car = Bad Day you might ask? Yes, the dealership took away ALL my joy of getting my car because they were !@#$%^&*!!!!! So as I am driving around fuming & wondering how to get my new plates on my car thinking I would rather get a ticket than go back to BLEEP; I looked across the horizon & there was Richey's Points Tire Factory glowing like a bright bulb of HOPE! I blindly turned into their shop to ask for help in installing my new plates. I of course also had frames (personally purchased) to go around the plates (can't make it easy!) and literally walked over to the garage & asked for help. Here comes DON, like a knight in shinning overalls! He looked at my car, looked at my plates/frames, went to get a tool & bam! it was done! I could have fallen over with how wonderfully kind DON was. He didn't roll his eyes, he didn't shrug his shoulders & walk away, nor did he make a frown! Keep in mind, this store was jumping. It was the middle of the day & there were cars up on jacks & activity all around but DON didn't let any of that phase him. He saw someone in need of help & helped! It may sound stupendously simple but simple acts of kindness is what is missing today. He didn't make me feel stupid or say "DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT?"; he just helped me. Yes, another human being reached out & touched my heart by simply helping me for no other reason but to be of help. What? I have told this story many times & even today I am in awe of the people there. They simply care! They don't fake it or preach it; they are it! Fantastic customer service!!!! I had a nail in my tire that I did not know about until someone at work saw that one of my tires was about 50% flat. I brought my car in to have the nail removed and patch up the hole. I was immediately greeted and they started working on my car right away as they weren't busy. I expected to pay a small fee for the repair, but it was FREE!!! It doesn't get any better than that. I didn't even purchase my tires there! So I managed to blow out two-tires on my Mercedes by hitting what appeared to be a part of a cinder block laying in the middle of I-5 just before the Interstate bridge heading into Vancouver. I called Speed's towing and had my car towed in to Richey's Tire Factory based upon the reviews that I saw while sitting on Hwy 14 waiting for the truck to arrive. First off they are open on Sunday which was much appreciated. I was told they had a tire to fit my car but it was made by a different company other than Continental so I elected to leave my car overnight so they could order the tires and do a front wheel re-alignment. Since the car was fairly new I had 70% of my tread left so they were able mount and balance two new tires saving me from having to replace all four since the vehicle is an AWD. I was really happy with the level of service I received and would highly recommend them. Had they had the same tire that I wanted I would have been in and out of there in about an hour. Boy I was blessed running into a broken valve stem on my wife's little green car today on a Sunday. I drove right in I didn't expect this to be a very spendy repair and had brought my work van in for repair in the past also a great experience. These guys are the best took my car in right away had me all fixed up and on the road in minutes not only am I going to get a new pair of tires we need, also told my dad about them and he went straight over to the shop to buy tires for his truck! I give my highest rating to Richie's Tire Factory. I had two flat tires within about three days of each other. First flat(s) I've ever had. The first was discovered after shopping Saturday night. I called a tire change guy who put the "doughnut" on. I began looking online that night seemingly in vain, to find a place that was open on a Sunday as I had an important medical appointment at OHSU in Portland, and needed to leave by around 10:30 a.m. Monday. Sunday, I spoke with with a VERY kind and helpful "Matt" who didn't have the tire size I needed, but he assured me that his Monday morning shipment would be coming in early-ish on Monday morning, and they would have the right size tire. He also said he could have me in and out in 15 minutes. Turned out that not only had the shipment the shipment arrived earlier than expected, but they actually even had the same "brand" as my other tires as well. Not only did I get out of Richie's in 15 minutes, but I got to my medical appointment on time. Meantime, though I hadn't driven my car anywhere since then, a couple days later when I went outside I noticed a very low looking tire. So I drove very slowly to Richie's Tire Factory to see Matt. It turned out to be a second but repairable flat from a bent nail on the road while I was driving home from OHSU Monday night on I 205 in very heavy rain and very heavy traffic. Matt repaired the tire and said it would be strong and fine. He did not charge me for anything at all. If Matt were not so wonderful and kind enough already, there is also another bonus in the form of a very large, sweet and friendly Mastiff puppy that will happily greet you. The other shops never really inspected just immediately said I needed a new one, but to keep old as a spare (eye roll). They were able to get me in and had tire in stock! This Shop believes in Customer Service and Long Term Relationships. We own and operate Car Forensics a local Mobile Auto Service and Onsite Diagnostics Unit in Vancouver, Wa. A long time ago, Richie's helped me with a problem I had completing a front brake job 1990 Honda Accord. A very expensive puller or bearing press is required to replace the rotors on these 4th and 5th generation Accords, something I became aware of after it was too late to turn back. We wound up needing to replace the wheel bearing in addition to the rotor due to our lack of skill accomplishing the hub removal. I was not prepared well for what I was getting myself into, and this place not only bailed me out but did so in a very professional way, when no other shop around would. You never forget things like that. We recommend our family and customers here when they need a new set of tires and want to be taken care of in a courteous and expeditious manner. I had ran over something on hwy 14 and was able to pull off on a off ramp. I called my insurance since I needed a tow. I have a hot Rod car and it has run flat tires. I had a can of fix a flat tire sealer you can add to your tire so you can make it to a near station. Once I tried to fill the tire it ran out of the tire as fast as we put it in. As waiting for the tow truck we called Dave at Richey's Point S tire store on Mill Plain and told him our story. He didn't have any tires for my car at his shop since they are a specialty tire. However, he had a set in his warehouse in Portland and went to the warehouse and grabbed a tire. By the time PA Towing (which was awesome) got the car towed to Point S, there was a new tire waiting for us!!!! Was able to get the new tire on the car and was on our way. Up and beyond customer service. You just don't get that these days. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!!! read more

On my way to work this morning ran over some debris in road, knew instantly something was not right. Pulled up, someone came right out, asked if they could check my tires, next thing I know tire comes off ,huge bolt removed and tire patched. They didn't want to charge me!! Thank you thank you.
