Our home has a Pentair reverse osmosis system that stopped working. The parts per million count jumped from under 100 to +500 (near tap water). Last week, I tried getting a new dish washer delivered and installed by home depot. The delivery guy wouldn't do the install due to the water supply valve being corroded. While we were under there, I also noticed the drain pipes from my sink were leaking. Having used Rick on 2 previous occasions, he was my first phone call as I already know I can trust him. I was seeking a contractor to help install a toilet and also repair a leak and wanted to gather a few estimates since I've only needed plumbing services a few times in my life. I thought Rick had good reviews and gave him a call, and what I found out is that he is NOT a person that you want to work with. He asked for some pictures of the project and since he was too lazy to just see for himself. I sent him several pictures and then he began to get angry saying that "hey your pictures would be better if you moved all your garden and table items." I didn't think I was going to be sending so many pictures that he wanted so I obviously didn't have time to move it prior to me taking the pictures. Then after just merely 8 minutes of talking he got angry and began raising his voice saying "you need to stop making me work so hard." It was such an incredulous statement because if he calls this work, then he needs to stick with the labor portion and hire someone to do the communications/sales portion. Another clue of him being lazy is that he didn't want to do any non-plumbing work (i.e. deck removal) and just wanted an easy job. He also recommend re-routing the pipe from below the deck to above the deck so that he didn't have to un-assemble the joyce, which would be ridiculously ugly... who would do that? So he obviously a contractor that would take short cuts and not fix things the right way. I'm not sure if he was drinking at a bar because it was loud and sounded like he was at a restaurant. But he obviously has a temper and based on his responses he is very critical and thinks he's always right (machismo?). I;m glad to have found this out on a short call prior to hiring him so I count this as a true blessing. This is just a warning for potential customers because I honestly and truly believe that his 5 star review is NOT legitimate. Either that or this guy is bi-polar and I caught him on a REALLY bad Friday afternoon after the holidays... I wouldn't feel comfortable with someone like this in my home, and I am a dude who can handle himself... I can't imagine a young lady feeling any better with someone like this who knows where you live.... Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

This is the fourth water softener I have purchased over the last thirty years but is by far the highest quality unit I have owned. Rick removed the old unit and installed the new one in just a few hours. He was professional and courteous during the installation. I had him add a hose bib (soft water), for which he did not charge extra. This is the fourth project I have hired Rick for. He previously plumbed a barbeque island (August 2017), and an outdoor fireplace (November 2017); he installed a tankless water heater for me in July 2021. I've had multiple water leaks in my copper pipes behind the walls, coming from the ceiling and in the slabs over the years. I was able to DIY and fix them. My home is 31 years old and it was time to overhaul the entire plumbing system. I've used Rick's Plumbing Service in Fullerton before and seen him repipe another house in my neighborhood. I had no doubt that Rick could do the entire job for my home. He has over 40 years of plumbing experience and can pretty much fix any plumbing problem. I could get an idea on how much this job would cost by looking on his website, he shows his pricing which is rare for any contractor to do. I had Rick do the following for me: Trench the yard outside and install and reroute some new main water line to come through the garage and relocate the pressure regulator to inside the garage. Repipe the entire house with new L type copper piping. Put in new hoses and angle stops on all new supply lines. Install a new water heater and reinforce the wood base and supports for the water heater. Replace some of the gas line for the water heater. Install a new water softener and reverse osmosis system. Install new shower valves, shower drain, new p-trap, rework some of the drain vents. Relocate and install all new bibs for hard water outside the house. Install new garbage disposal. Install a new toilet. Patch the walls and ceiling that were cut open to install the new copper piping. I took care of disposing the materials from the demolition. He set up the new water heater to have running hot water for the shower while he continued the repipe. My wife and I worked together with Rick and the disruption was minimal. We understood how much work was involved and we were very comfortable with Rick. He always arrived early and on time in the morning as promised and worked late and long hours to get his work done. Rick has lots of energy and is extremely focused and worked with a sense of urgency from the moment he arrived, he doesn't waste time. You tell him what you need and he tells you how he going to do it and we leave him alone as he knows what to do. This was a big job and Rick finished the plumbing job in seven days and his patching contractor finished the walls and ceilings in two days. We had the patching contractor do some additional work while he was here. Rick has superior plumbing skills, knowledge and over 40 years of experience and is a amazing person. He's honest and will tell you what you need and don't need. My wife and I are very happy with is work. We would call him again for our plumbing needs and recommend him to others without hesitation. So I got a call from my wife about a growing pool of water in the garage. I was hoping it was just my earthquake readiness supply, but on further inspection it was coming out from the wall between the drywall and the slab. Gave Rick a call and like usual he answered right away. I traded some pictures back and forth and luckily for me the leak was above the slab. Rick came out the next morning and went straight to work on the leak. It was in a tight area, and it may have been easier for him to go through the drywall on the other side which is in my son's closet. Rick, being the considerate professional he is, handled it through the garage wall so as not to disrupt my son's closet which has one of those installed closet organizers. While he was here, I asked about replacing my water heater because it was old and I knew it's life expectancy had passed. He discovered it was more than old, it had become damaged because a leaky toilet had been dripping on the water heater, probably for years, and it had rust on the outside. He repaired the toilet which involved repairing the weak floor - the cause of the leak, replaced the water heater which involved replacing some poorly installed pipes, and while he was at it, we had him replace 3 toilets, install a water softener and a Reverse Osmosis unit. He showed up on time, worked like crazy for 3 full days and left us feeling a lot drier. Do you have a plumber who calls back after 2 days to see how everything was and if there were any problems? I called Rick to repair my water heater. He came on time, was very friendly and knowledgeable on the issue of why the heaters pilot light would not stay on.
