12 of us on a family gathering agreed that Ricks is top notch gourmet food in a casual setting, great service and reasonably priced. They gave us our own wing of the restaurant for our party. We all shared tastings... I Loved loved loved my generous serving of Ahi Tuna Steak perfectly seared and rare, served with beautiful asparagus, Jamaican black beans and rice. My sister in law's Cuban Ropa Vieja was fantastic lying flavorful and tender. The two salads i tasted were The Chef's salad and the Chopped salads, both with the finest ingredients, choice chicken, smoked bacon, homemade fresh dressings. I don't think there's anything more we could have asked for! Mwah!

We were staying at an Inn nearby and they gave us complimentary breakfast vouchers for Rick's Restaurant. We woke up pretty early so we decided to check it out before the brunch crowd got there. It's a pretty big restaurant so there's seating everywhere. Definitely a diner vibe. We were seated right away and waters came to our table immediately. They asked if we wanted coffee, but we declined. The servers seem to be in a rush all the time. Everything goes by quickly: seating, ordering, eating, billing. There wasn't really much of a welcoming routine, just what do you want, ok here you go, and goodbye. Granted, it was a weekend and I'm sure during busy hours, that's exactly what you want/need to keep things moving. The menu is pretty extensive with a bit of everything. The voucher we had was for a Rick's Special of the House (2 eggs, home fries or hashbrowns, toast, and a beverage). I got scrambled eggs, hash browns (well done), rye toast, and a raspberry iced tea. It was a filling meal, perfect for breakfast. Eggs were nicely scrambled, the hashbrowns were fine. I didn't realize that the toast would come buttered and I wish I knew that because I would've gotten it plain but it was still good. We also got a breakfast burrito (I forgot the name of it) but it was a cuban burrito, with lechon, rice, beans, and a few other things. It was also good, but I think we'd go with something different next time. Either way, we left full and content with our meals.

Had a nice meal here last night with 5 of my friends after going to the movies. Excellent service and great food. Two friends had the turkey dinner which they said was very good. Two had the fish tacos and said they were just ok. One had the burger which they enjoyed. I had the turkey club sandwich and it was very large and delicious. The menu has a nice selection of items including smaller portions for those who want a lighter meal. They have their own parking lot which is a big plus for Palm Springs.

Everyone you interact with during a visit helps set the tone, right? And while most of the staff was wonderful, our main server unfortunately wasn't. She seemed rushed, didn't really listen, missed half of our order, and just wasn't friendly. In contrast, everyone else--the runners, other servers, and the host stand--was incredibly kind and helpful. The food itself was good and comforting. The hash browns were extra crispy, just the way we love them. Overall, we really enjoyed the meal.

The server who was working today in the morning was incredibly welcoming and kind, along with the servers. Food is great, prices and portions are very generous, and they serve the largest mimosa under $10 that I've seen I took a cinnamon roll to-go, and I will be getting one again tomorrow. Very yummy

I stopped here after a long day of flights and ordered the Media Noche. It was one of the best I've had. I'm a sucker for a good Cuban sandwich, and this one had the right amount of fillings. I loved that the bottom was full of pickles- it made this sandwich so, so good. Service was also friendly and top notch. Food came out quickly and it kept me full for a full day!

Friendly and prompt service! My beverage was never empty and our food was prompt. My pancakes and Hash browns were perfectly cooked and the syrup for the pancakes was served warm and the butter was whipped. Both nice touches. Our only complaint is that my husband said his omelette was way under seasoned, and the Ham to Pepper ratio in his Denver omlette was way too pepper heavy and ham light. The ham wasn't seared before it was put in the omlette so that's a little detail that could be better.

We were hungry after "antiquing" a couple miles away. Rick's is a great comfort food spot, with home cooked food and daily specials. Comfortable booths, friendly service and great B/W photos from legendary celebrities and locations associated with Palm Springs all around the restaurant. Service was prompt, but the TWO menus were vast(breakfast and lunch both are served til 2pm, so we were given both those menus), but I def needed a hot minute to figure out which meal I was interested in. Hubs went with hamburger steak and eggs and it was a REALLY GOOD 1/2 lb burger. I landed on trying the Polish sausage with sauerkraut and Swiss, but asked to hold the bun. It came with a side of fresh made fries, which were also very good. The Polish sausage had a perfect snap to it and the two slices of Swiss were real cheese. Sometimes I'm not sure if I'll be getting processed or real is a delicious surprise. We were offered A-1 and Heinz mustard with our orders, which we appreciated, but Hubs had to ask for a coffee refill after he was done eating, none was offered through his meal. The server DID then bring a refill of my water without being asked, once he realized that wasn't offered earlier either, so we lingered a bit longer to finish both bevvies. The GIANT cinnamon roll and other fresh baked goods caught my attention on Yelp and also when we walked in, but I didn't have room to try any - THIS time. lol I'd also be interested in trying one of their scratch made daily soups and their roasted turkey entree would probably be mighty tasty for Thanksgiving. Rick also has some family Cuban recipes with sides of plantain, rice and beans that look very good too. Like I said, a vast selection of homemade comfort foods. We'll be back. Cheers! "CC"

Good breakfast, good service. I ordered the #5 Bacon and Eggs; 3 slices of bacon, 2 eggs, home fries & toast. The bacon was crispy, not too fatty. The eggs (cooked scrambled) were fluffy. The home fries were good, but needed more seasoning for flavor, also could have used a bit more cooking time (I like them very well done). The toast was good, ordered white bread with blackberry jam; really liked the jam. The ambiance of ricks was cool with the black and white pictures of old Palm Springs celebrities. The service was fast and very friendly.

My guest suggested Rick's Restaurant for lunch. I immediately agreed. I have been wanted to go. My guest had the Pastrami Ruben with fries. I ordered the Cuban Pork sandwich, chicken tortilla soup, plantains and black beans with rice. The chicken tortilla soup was delicious. The pork for me was tough. I would have preferred a different cut of pork. The plantains could have been fried a little longer and crisper. The black beans could use more seasoning. The restaurant was beautiful. The menu selection was huge. Breakfast and lunch was offered until 2 pm. Staff were friendly and attentive. I would like to go back and try something different. There was ample parking. There was also a separate bar area from dinning area, and patio dinning. $$

Last year we went here for brunch as we left Palm Springs and I still dreaming about their cinnamon roll so I was super excited to be able to go back this past weekend! We weren't able to Rally all of our friends to come with us so it was just me and my husband. For server was super tentative and very fast and taking our order and bringing out our drinks and food. I ordered the corned beef and hash with hash browns and a coffee. And of course the most important part the cinnamon roll! I'll let the photos speak for themselves, but it is amazing! We went Sunday morning and it was surprisingly really easy to get a table, there was no wait. Highly recommend this place if you're at Palm Springs area.

The food at Rick's is "genuine," mostly comfort food. We eat here often, when we come to town, and though the prices are a little on the high side, it's clear that they are unwilling to compromise the quality of their meals by reducing the quality of the ingredients. The "sides" and upcharges are sometimes pricey, so we avoid encountering them. That said, we are always DELIGHTED with the food and service at Rick's, and we have never left there disappointed. Rick's hamburgers are some of the best in town, and their bacon is "out of this world." While you could find cheaper omelets, etc., "you get what you pay for," and I'd rather pay slightly more than the cheapest and enjoy some of the best. Everything costs more, these days, and I'm very happy to patronize a local restaurant with a friendly management and staff and enjoy a genuine quality "comfort food" meal in a friendly atmosphere. read more

Went for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised of the quality of food, prompt service, And the happy atmosphere of the employees enjoying their day. Harmony and happiness in the air within the staff. We had the honor of being waited on by Janice. She is like a Ballerina dancing on the floor while waitressing. I asked so how long have you been working here? 25 yrs. Impressive! She shared "Been a waitress all her life" just like my mom was. Its a great career if you could only enjoy work and hopefully good compensation as Much as Janice does. We will be back!! read more

Lots of variety of options here. This is one of our go to restaurants for take out when visiting palm springs. On our latest visit i got the spaghetti and meatballs ($23) and it was delicious! Def. Overpriced but its palm springs. Others in our group had the salmon, bbq wings, tuna sandwich, and turkey dinner. We all enjoyed our meals. Will def be back. read more

We went for breakfast and while everybody else got something basic the minute I saw the Chilaquiles with chorizo I was in. You know it's good server with a huge smile when I ordered it says great choice, i'm excited for you. It really was! I can't wait to return to Palm Springs to order it. read more

Food and service were great. Went for breakfast as two other couples at the hotel we stayed at recommended this place. Next time need to come at a different time to try other items on the menu. We had the standard breakfast and the tamale breakfast. read more

It was good, but it's NOT a Cuban restaurant. We chose this place because it said "Cuban restaurant" but only 10% of its menu is Cuban dishes, if that. I ordered the ropa vieja with rice and beans, and it didn't taste Cuban at all. Overall, the food was good but I don't think they should market it as a Cuban restaurant if they only have 3 "Cuban" dishes, and about 50 American dishes. My dish was also technically on the happy hour menu, but they didn't say anything until after, so we paid almost $30 for a dish that wasn't even what we were expecting. Kinda disappointed, but we were hungry and running late so we stayed. read more

We came to Rick's without a reservation on a Thursday evening. There were plenty of tables and the server was friendly. I ordered the Arron con Pollo. This dish had a fried rice with seasoning and peas with some cooked chicken. The rice had a good flavor but the chicken tasted just ok. The dish came with a couple pieces of plantains which tasted good. The best dish our party received was the poached salmon. It was a good sized piece that was delicious. It came with a salad and baked potato. My wife ordered the turkey and she thought it was bland. I wish we had a better experience as this restaurant is walking distance from Desert Vacation Villas, where we have stayed many times over the past ten years. read more

Just moved to Palm Springs and had family over and decided to eat here ON Sat Nov 1st around 2ish. HUGE MISTAKE! we entered bldg we were not greeted properly only asked how many, then staff proceeded to seat us in the back corner?? Then had the most unwelcoming waitress who asked if we were ready, we asked for a bit of time to look over menu AND SHE JUST WALKED AWAY? Finally ordered and she was short with words and seemed like she wanted us to hurry up and order. Food arrives, which seemed like a drive by and chili COLD sausage like cool? Informed her and she took chili again with her pleasant personality They ate the cold sausage cause they tried to ignore it?? Every request like napkins, straws was done without words and just dropped at our table like the food Flying by FINALLY, time to go get check ask for container and receive that almost like a frisbee? PAID over $90 so disappointed in the service. I WAS SO EMBARRASSED that my family experienced such atrocious behavior. Luckily my family called me down and I did not give her same kind of energy and tell her exactly just I though SO I WILL JUST LEAVE THIS REVIEW. read more

We had breakfast there recently and hadn't been there for years. The breakfast was perfect. The Mexican Scramble w/chorizo is excellent. My wife had the Spanish Omelette, which she totally enjoyed. Rick's continue to serve the largest mimosa in town, which makes for an even better breakfast! Service was perfect and prices are moderate. read more

I was so disappointed with Rick's. It looked so cute when we came in. My daughter and husband ordered the chicken fried steak and it was burnt. Gravy tasted like flour. My daughter's hash browns were under cooked and my husband couldn't even eat his home cook potatoes. He only took a few bites and didn't ask for a to go box. The waitress could not care at all. She didn't even ask if there was something wrong. My daughter said we should send these back but we just took the bill and left. The one plus was the girl at the check out was super sweet. Save your money and don't go here. Just wasted $75. We heard John's chicken Fried Steak is great so we are heading there to get them a plate to split. read more

We've been going to Rick's seasonally for breakfast for several years. Nice people. Fast service. However.... This morning my wife ordered a breakfast entree and I ordered (my most common) two breakfast sides. As we were exiting I was tapping in my Apple Pay tip something hit me. A "plating charge" mentioned somewhere on the menu. A "plating charge" for sides? WTH? Not a good walking out memory. Dang. read more

Rick's Desert Grill serves delicious food! We dined outside and had the deviled eggs, Yuccas Fritas, Skirt Steak Petite Meal, and Grilled Salmon petite meal. Everything was seriously delicious. I love yucca so it was awesome to have it as an appetizer. I also enjoyed the sweet plantains that came with the grilled salmon. Tip: try using the mojito sauce (that comes with yucca fritas) with the skirt steak. It was a serendipitous combination! My partner loved the vegetables that came with the skirt steak as well. The food was so good we didn't need the gravy on the steak nor the tartare sauce on the salmon. Service was amazing and we felt safe dining there. We saw them cleaning constantly and socially distancing patrons when seating them. The open air tent set up in the parking lot is actually pretty nice. I like the decorative straw around the poles and the relaxing lighting. It was set up in a nice spot away from the sidewalks and passing traffic. We had a great dinner here. You should visit too! :) read more

The food was not good. Would not recommend. The mangers ignored us once we walked in. Also the servers were rude and we waited over 40 minutes for food. Did not enjoy my experience here. The food was also not good. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

The food here is overpriced for quality, restaurant overall a cool breakfast spot, but the guy in the picture is the reason why the review is even a thing. There's multiple reviews about him basically being a parking lot warlord lol. I don't know if he's an owner or manager but his service is horrible. He cusses at customers and overall ruins the experience of this brand read more

Don't overlook Rick's if you appreciate classic diner fare. The food was fresh, mostly house made, and the service was stellar. Two servers hit us with water and excellent diner grade coffee as soon as we sat down. Fresh bread, including real rye, are on tap. Biscuits are rich and unique. Home fries are full of peppers and onions, cooked perfectly. This is a diner do e right! read more

Though we were a party of eight, the restaurant said they would set up a table for us when calling. Graciously greeted, and immediately seated. Our server, Scotty, was a stellar host. He did everything possible to help us not only enjoy Happy Hour, enjoy our dining experience. No question, the table favorite was the prime rib sliders. We ordered a second round! The Cuban trio was a close second. Our drinks were served promptly. Our food was served promptly. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails. If you like an Old Fashioned, I recommend you ask to hold the sugar and splash of soda...unless you don't like bourbon...then go with the special recipe. Fun, Palm Springs decor. Relaxed atmosphere. EVERYTHING! The staff is wonderful! The food!!! OMG!!! We all loved the food so much that we kept sharing with each other so that we could taste the different entrees. Went there for Happy Hour with a friend as I heard a few days earlier as to what a good deal they had. So to my surprise, they raised their prices quite a bit. Its ok, I get it. Had a few beers and ordered the nachos. They make their creamy cheddar cheese in house and as good as it was, it didn't settle too well with my tummy later that evening or the next day. My three positives and a negative because the world needs more positivity: + we ended up here because two other places we tried to go to did not have their dining rooms open (and were carry out only). We got their nachos, Mac and cheese, and chicken tenders for my son. Both the nachos and Mac and cheese were really good. Love nachos and wanted to keep eating them. The next morning we went for breakfast at Pinzimini. They have a buffet option and also have a standard breakfast menu to choose items from. My husband got their brioche French toast and I selected to do their buffet. I know he liked the French toast. I liked the items offered in their buffet. We did enjoy the range balls, but as early risers, I would have appreciated access to the spa or pool earlier in the morning. Unfortunately, the room itself left a lot to be desired. The bed sheets had what looked like an oil or grease stain, the closet door was broken, and the overall furnishings and finishes felt worn and dated rather than well maintained. This is very much a family resort, so that is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quiet getaway. Even at the adults-only Paloma Pool, children were jumping into the water and splashing guests' drinks while parents appeared unconcerned. That made it difficult to relax in what was supposed to be a peaceful setting. On a positive note, the entrance walkway, lobby, and open-air courtyard are beautiful and make for a strong first impression. Unfortunately, that charm does not extend to the guest rooms, which are clearly in need of a refresh.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

Our original reservations were set and paid for April 2022. They canceled our reservations telling us they had to close for renovations until November! So we thought we'll wait until they're done. NO RENOVATIONS we're ever done! This place use to be a hidden gem. Do yourself a favor and stay at a Motel 6. At least it's updated and clean. Not to mention about 1/3 of the price. We paid $500 for two nights. Oh, and there's no one working the desk (at least from morning to around 3pm) so you're on your own if you need anything. The front desk guy is very nice, but this shit show place is out of his control. I feel bad for him!

Rick's has been my saving grace during the Pandemic. I work and live within a few blocks from them, and love their restaurant. To be able to call in and get some of the best food in town and pick it up after work and have a great meal is fantastic. They also have gift certificates in any denomination which makes it easy to pay and not have to worry about cash. (I always tip in cash though). Ordered the Cuban Salad on Postmates. The salad is supposed to come with mozzarella pearls and red onion. Both were missing , but what wasn't missing was the end of the romaine stalk , all brown and shriveled. The dressing was 2 small cups of olive oil and balsamic with no spices or herbs. The avocado in the salad was not ripe. All this fun for 23.00 ! I am done with RIck's and if I were him, ( if there is a Rick ) I would be embarrassed to call this a Cuban Salad let alone send it over to my house for that price. Grrrr. read more

Let me start by saying trying my cultures food has always been in my bucket list and thanks to this place I finally was able to have something I can talk about and man is this food good. My mother has always made us a few Cuban dishes and this place will always remind me of those home cooked meals. I wish the name or something would let ppl know what kind of food it was, we were a little confused and expected more on American food son e there's Chinese writing and it's called ricks but def worth going and I will be back! read more

Good food, almost the same as the nearby Rick's restaurant that's been around for 10 or more years. Some of the meat dishes are a little more fatty than they need to be. The service is decent, the atmosphere is fairly sterile. People are nice and friendly. Great variety of dishes to choose from - this is the kind of place you'll find something everyone in your group will enjoy. read more

I had an amazing dinner here! The chicken special was perfectly cooked--tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. It felt like real comfort food with a gourmet touch.
