I've eaten here for lunch and dinner multiple times and it's ALWAYS amazing! We came for Easter and the fried chicken and risotto were both spectacular! The server was kind enough to suggest fantastic wines to pair with our meal as well as wonderful desserts. Since then, I've been back over and over -- my don't miss suggestions are the new kale salad with chicken, the shrimp agnolotti, the arancini and the steak, but honestly, everything you order will be wonderful! Don't miss this hidden gem in the Historic Tennis Club area of PS, inside the beautiful Holiday House Hotel!

We wanted to check this place out and they told us the wait was over 30mts Because no reservation. The restaurant was half empty lol and then I checked open table and they have reservations available every 15 Mrs lol What a joke! But what can you expect from little people and small town. This is why I love my OC places nothing in customer service in this area. Look the screenshot for their lack in customer service saying reservations. Haha I am still laughing at this place

Stopped by for lunch while on a day trip to Palm Springs. I made reservations on OpenTable, easy.. ambiance is nice, chill, relaxing. Service was attentive and quick. Food to me was good. I got the chicken salad, which was tasty. The fries sounded good, but I think they are alright, but try them if you like.

I would give it 3+ stars. Food: Fresh ingredients. Had the chicken salad. A bit heavy on the tarragon imo, otherwise, good and the tomatoes and the avocado perfectly ripe. Would be better if it had a couple extra lettuce leaves underneath it. See pic. **Beware: Charging $5 for an ice tea that comes in a small skinny tall glass (loaded with ice) and not at least offering one free refill is ridiculous and wrong. Good way to turn off customers. Service: Server was nice and upbeat. Small cozy restaurant yet had to keep asking for regular water refills. It was Sunday and I think he's the only server that afternoon for lunch including people eating by the pool. Finally he brought a big bottle of tap water and plopped it in front of me to fill our own empty glasses. Maybe he was upset because he doesn't have a busboy. Whatever. Ambiance. Nice quiet patio with shade. Definitely has a cool, hidden gem, type feel. Plenty of parking. Note; None of the lunch sandwiches include a side of french fries which are $12. At least offer an add fries option to any sandwich for $6 and cut the size of the fries in half. I guarantee you'll make more money this way because everyone will add fries which I'm assuming most people end up sharing the à la carte basket. I'll go back again and try something else next time and adjust my review accordingly.

An adorable little spot tucked into a retro hotel. There's only outdoor seating but it's all under shade and they have a big fan that kept it from being too hot, even when it got over 100. The service was slow but it's a great place to longer over a meal. Our waiter was super nice and sweet; he heard we were in town for a wedding and gave us extra strings of beads to give to the brides! The menu is small but has vegetarian and gluten free options and a good selection of cocktails and wine. The prices are decent but some seemed a little steep for the portion sizes. Definitely recommend getting the chocolate chip cookies for dessert if you have time to wait-- they bake them to order and bring them out all warm and gooey!

This place is not very impressive. It's 9:30 and have been sitting at the table since 7pm. We ordered our food around 7:30pm an hour later, they came and told us that they were out of steak. The food just arrived and they told us that they forgot to make the Chicken. The pasta was good and flavorful and the Pork chop was average. I don't think I will be back. I feel sorry for the server as he was great and was trying to be as helpful as possible.

We live here and came for the first time with Friends about 3 weeks ago and the overall experience was good. We decided to come back to have the fried chicken and this time was an absolute disaster: the fried chicken was under cooked, and when we told the server he asked if we were from here ...what question!? By the way we are very good customers at Bar Cecil. We sat inside and the 2 employees sitting at the bar counter were laughing so loud with no respect at all for the customers. Even when going in the back kitchen we could still hear them. They were also eating behind the bar. There were no other guests dining inside and only 1 guest dining outside. It looks like they are running the business. Very disappointing!

    Fried chicken Friday.

This review is for the fried chicken Friday. My husband read about this online and we decided to book two seats for our Palm Springs birthday weekend. Best decision! We had no idea what to expect, but we were greeted with sangria and a bag of freshly fried chips and were allowed to hang out in one of the multiple lounge areas of this recently renovated hipster hotel. The food was all soooo good and plentiful. The melon, prosciutto, and burrata mixed green salad was light, delicious, and a nice balance to the rest of the meal. My husband has brought up the salad multiple times since the dinner and he's not a huge salad guy. The cornbread was so moist, fluffy, and flavorful, the zucchini had a nice char. The cocktails were creative and interesting. But the star of the show was the fried chicken. It is one of my favorite foods and this was some of the best I've had. Crispy but not oily, tender meat, and seasoned really well. The only very minor quibble is that a fruity dessert would have rounded out the dinner perfectly over the brownie dessert they served but it was still good. There were about 20 people at our dinner which ranged from romper wearing women celebrating new jobs to very entertaining retirees. One of the most interesting and funny people we met said he usually hates cruises and communal dining but really enjoyed this. The service was very friendly too. One of the most fun dining experiences I've had in a while.

If you didn't know better you'd think you were in LA in the summer, excepty for the bocce ball. They have an excellent selection of spirits, cocktails. Maybe a little varied, but decently creative. The only thing that gets me is pricing. Sure you pay for everything for decor, glassware and not just spritis, but I recall wondering how they price their drinks becuase not everything is equal or standard mark up when some things aren't house made it's easy to cost out becuase you stop paying for creativity after a certain point. It feels like they took alot of Mr. Lyons business model and use that for pricing rather than a sole entity with their own margins. The service makes up for it, the ambiance makes up for it. The crowd makes up for it. Far less wrinkled and aging snowbirds and retirees circling the drain in their waning days. People dressing up and celebrating, genuine convivialness abounds with most guests. It's not somewhere else trying bring that vibe here, it's pretty authentic. It's separate from nextdoor other than shared bathrooms, so don't be surprised when you feel like your in a different world. Most people who wander between the 2 take pause and awe for a few seconds before their mood shifts to match the room. Not a place to get sloppy and party that way unless it's a closed event. It's a great, classic PS lounge for when you have 2 groups of friends who you can entertain, the steakhouse crowd for dinner and the loungers beforehand. Sunsets on the patio under the string lights and couches is rich backyard summertime vibez.

What we also found out, it was happy hour going on. Didn't even know this place offered happy hour as we've only been for breakfast and brunch. When we arrived it was slow. The whole patio area that's part of the restaurant and the side where the sidewalk was were both emptied. That in between time where brunch was finished and they were setting up dinner. Even with the mister and some of the shade, it was still pretty hot out so we opted for the patio section by the restaurant. We've never seen this menu so it was new to us. Honestly wanted their brunch menu but it was too late. The waitress working was basically doing everything as she was the only one on deck. Hostess, waitress and bartender. It did start to pick up while we were there. Drink wise, one of their Bloody Mary which comes with a slice of bacon and their lemon drop. Both very tasty. Food, an order of the ahi tuna salad. Seared tuna on top of mixed greens with crunchy onion, tomatoes, avocados and a really delicious ginger dressing. Quite tasty. The beet salad with added chicken. Beets tossed in a mixed greens with feta and roasted chicken. That too was quite nice. Lastly the veggies burger. Simple burger Pattie with all the trimming and served with seasoned fries. Of course the truffle fries were needed which was part of the happy hour. I can truly say that this place has amazing seasoned fries that's always a must for us. I didn't expect to see a different menu as were used to brunch but it was nice. Service was good for us as it wasn't too busy when we arrived with only one waitress working. It's a place that brunch is amazing hence we're alway back for that. I can say I've tried their other menu now.

The lady at the door told us inside would probably be loud because there were two bigger tables in there. It was hot outside, so we decided to sit inside anyway. We almost immediately regretted that and wished we'd sat outside. This place is not made for being busy on the inside. It's just too loud. But, cute in there. Our server, who we later learned was the bartender and not a usual server, took our drink orders. A few of us ordered the Hugo spritz, one gal got a beer, and a few other cocktails were ordered. We got our drinks and they were enjoyable. The problem began when we were ordering food. One girl in our group is Celiac and literally can not eat gluten. She ordered the salmon and asked to be sure the potato salad was gluten free. If things are fried or prepared in the same place as gluten objects, she is incredibly ill for weeks afterwards. She has to be super careful. His response was, "I think so." She told him she was celiac and had a true gluten allergy, and she needed him to be sure. Meanwhile, the menu boasts about how they proudly serve gluten free options right on the bottom. He then said, "yeah, I'm pretty sure it is." He genuinely did not seem concerned. She ended up ordering it but felt uncomfortable about whether or not it was really safe for her. Another girl at the end of the table asked him to please double check, as it was really a serious allergy. He said, "Yeah I am going to ask the chef. I wasn't going to just ignore it and make all you girls mad." He had the snarkiest tone when he said it, and it was incredibly, incredibly rude. That right there gave us a bad taste in our mouths. He came back out and said he checked with the chef, and it was indeed gluten free. Food came out and all tasted good. But when a restaurant prides itself on gluten free options, and then makes it so hard to order, it's not a good look. We wouldn't be back.

It caught our attention as we had stayed in two different Kimpton Hotels in Seattle prior. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. So yeah, Christopher H. from 9/9/18, I don't know what you're talking about. I make it a point to visit the bar at any Kimpton location nowadays. I always seem to have a good time. But then again, I can only speak for myself. Parking: Street, unless you're a guest at the hotel. FYI: - Despite the hours on Yelp saying this place is open from 4-10pm, they might open earlier, as we joined in at around 11am or noon. But don't hold me to it.
