It was our first time to eat here since we moved in this area. I feel like I missed a lot because they have pretty good food. Not salty, not oily. They also accepted my all diet request which is Keto diet Service was also amazing I definitely will come back here more often

B and I came here for lunch. B really liked the food here so he suggested this place. The last time, I went to a Ricky's All Day Grill was when I was a kid and that was at the Metrotown location (which is no longer there anymore). Ricky's to me is like a higher end Denny's. Prices are on the same line as Moxie's, Cactus Club and etc. B got the chicken fingers and I got the curried braised beef bowl. I had some of his chicken fingers and they were not bad. I really liked their honey mustard sauce. The curried braised beef bowl was huge. I couldn't even finish it. It wasn't bad but not wow. We ordered the piccolo bread to share and that was OMG tasty. It had lots of garlic butter. Yum. Service was pretty good. We had our bottomless ice tea filled up quickly. The restaurant wasn't busy when we came on a Saturday afternoon. The location was awesome because it is inside Scottsdale mall and is is surrounded by Walmart, Save-on-foods and other stores. We also got our errands done afterward. Yes there are lots of free parking spots here. Well, we didn't drive. It was a 20 mins walk from where we were. Note if you are not a big eater, you are better off to share a dish. We ended up having left overs.

Came by for some breakfast. If I were to describe this chain, it would be like a less greasy version of Denny's. Parking is available in the nice large Scottsdale Centre parking lot. The inside is typical of many family restaurants, with classy but basic decor. Looks fine. Staff were friendly. The place was quite empty when we showed up, so the food came quite quickly. I had their Classic Double Egger. It is exactly what it sounds like. 2 eggs, with 1 meat item, hash browns, and toast. Tasted fine, and I really liked that it wasn't floating in grease. Special mention for this. With that said, it's a bit pricey for what one gets, but it's not unreasonable. Not sure how often I'd come back here, but the food is decent for sure.

Tough yelpers but if you listen carefully to what I eat.....lol, a bit drama. Best ever chicken tenders! Made daily, in house, none of that freezer stuff. Baked super tender, quality meat. Great bang for the buck too. Came with an amazing tomato brocolli soup too. Located by main entrance of Scottdale plaza/mall.

    Broc cheese soup. Yum !

Get the deep friend spicy wontons if available (feature special) and the pan fried dumplings! They were exceptional. The wontons especially had a generous filling of meat. The French toast reminded me of home but they were better! The breakfast sandwich was so simple but there was something that made it better than I could've. And the blackened chicken sandwich was also a featured item was juicy and beautifully seasoned. So good! The hash brown and Cesar sides were also great, what you'd want from a diner. The restaurant itself is super unique since it's in an industrial area and so hidden, you'd think you're at the wrong place. But once you're in, you're hit with a classic diner no frills spot. And you'll realize this great hidden gem.

The staff took our name and number and texted us around 20 minutes later once our table was ready. The hot chocolate was just okay, the breakfast food was good and what you'd expect from a diner, but what really stood out was the dumplings. They were so good, definitely get the spicy wontons! Really good restaurant but I'd recommend coming on a weekday if possible to avoid a long wait.

However, I know why this restaurant continues to be booked and busy. I have been various times before but this was the first time in the last few years. I would describe this restaurant as western fine dining for a Chinese palate. You'll find some classic dishes but less heavy on the salt and grease, perfect for myself and the party I was dining with. I ordered the 5 course meal which was a fantastic deal for $65. The bread service at the start is so warm and yummy - don't skip out on it! The pesto sauce tiger prawns weren't overly pesto forward and had a strong presence of garlic - perfect for me! I loved the chowder as I especially like corn. The portion was also perfect considering I had many courses coming afterwards. Next, came the crab cake, which was generously filled with crab and paired with delicious house made butter. For each dish, I found the garnishes pleasing as well (especially the strawberry which was so sweet and ripe!). I think the best deal of the night was the steak. It was not too salty and cooked perfectly to a medium-rare. I managed to have leftovers as well since the portions were overwhelmingly good. Finally, the star of the night was definitely the chocolate soufflé for me. I loved the rich bitterness of the chocolate paired with ice cream on the side. I don't think this place is the best representation for fine dining. After all, they do not serve any alcohol. However, I think it is a great deal and accommodating to my taste buds. If I do not wish to drive out for fancy food, I know I can rely on the food at Shoestring café. As it is a family run business, there is only one person managing the front and I think they do a pretty good job at juggling all the duties of a host, server, and table busser! I would love to return soon.

Friendly service and I love how passionate they are about quality and using fresh ingredients (eg…read morefresh mushrooms for sauces and fresh made pasta). Steamed mussels and soufflé were so addictive and heavenly. The mussels were savoury and buttery and the soufflé was airy with the perfect amount of sweetness. They were very good! Hits and misses for the mains. While the pasta and sauce were great, we wish the seafood were panfried or something to give it a bit more texture. The duck was well done but not tough (we generally like medium rare) though we were confused by why the skin was served down as crispy skin is always a plus for duck breasts. I'm not a fan of mashed potatoes but theirs was not overly heavy and buttery, which I really appreciated and enjoyed. This reminds me of Asian western food but they were tasty and the ambience was cozy - a local neighbourhood spot.

Where do I start?…read more WOW! I think that's a good place to start. My mother came to visit me from the states, and my husband and I wanted to take her to dinner. We decided on Cactus Club Cafe because of the menu. We walked in -- no reservations -- and were sat down almost immediately. Our waiter was super attentive. My mom ordered the salmon, I ordered the baja fish tacos and my husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The food was amazing. He asked if we were celebrating anything, and we kinda were, but that was not the reason for eating out. My mother was seeing me after a year. My PR had gone through this past December. My husband and I celebrated our first year of marriage on the eighth! We told him those were not the reasons for eating there though, but he gave us free desserts all the same, and while the dessert was too rich for me, my husband and mother devoured them, it was still so good!

I ordered Steak Frites, i swapped out regular fries for Truffle fries, i requested medium rare closer to rare and they did not disappoint. Had to be healthy and wash everything down with hot water and lemon. Love this location because it's very lively and service is always amazing! All the staff are incredibly bubbly and conversational. Easy to get seats, make resos online or walk in. Free parking available .. restaurant is always super clean and ambiance has just the right amount of light and decor in my opinion. I often solo dine here when i finish errands or the gym. Super introvert friendly. Think this place suits any occasion really
