I used to get orders from doorDash aloy from here. Never occurred to me how close it is to home. We ate here today for our daughter's birthday lunch. Around 1pm on a Sunday so the restaurant was really quiet. Ambiance is so beautiful here with colorful walls and pretty paintings. Very intimate space so it can feel crowded for a large party. The food was authentic Mexican. Very fresh and flavorable. Not the best guacamole unfortunately. Everyone at the table agreed it could have used more seasoning and veggies added to it. Food came out quickly. Again, hot and fresh. We were checked on multiple times and overall it was a great experience. They were even able to successfully incorporate a Ramen based dish. Judging by the lunch order for me and my dining partner, it is very average Americanized Mexican food. The ground beef in the tacos lacks discernable seasoning, and the enchilada sauce could be from a grocery store. Again, nothing wrong but there is nothing special here, at least in this one trip. My family and I decided to swing by Rico's on Dollar Taco Thursday. Luckily we arrived just before the rush hit. Our waitress was nice, but we had to ask for things multiple times which is always a bummer when you're trying to wrangle two tiny little humans. Not so Rico suave... okay, so we weren't greeted very well when we walked in. We placed a "to go" order, the hostess wasn't super friendly or accommodating. After she begrudgingly took our order, we waited in a booth up front. After a short wait, we were handed our dinner abruptly, without any salutation... no thank you, good evening, or how do you do... They really need to work on their people skills!! However, when we dug into our bag and opened all of our entrees, they were packaged well and were pretty tasty. The red sauce on the burrito was plentiful but was nothing more than canned tomato sauce with some onions thrown in. The meat was standard issue, Taco Bell style beef. I saw evidence of cheese on the side of the plate but none actually on or in the burrito. The rice was very, very bland with a pack of frozen vegetables (Lima beans, carrots, peas, corn and green beans) mixed in. I added some if the salsa brought for the chips to give it any flavor at all. The taco was soggy with odd tasting lettuce. Again, very Taco Bell-esq.
