    Small rainbow bowl
    Raquel S.

I pass by this food truck every week on my way to my physical therapy appointment in uptown, and there are always people in line or waiting for their orders. It's located in the parking lot next to the Catholic Church across from the Duke Energy building. I decided I needed to see what these Acai bowls are all about. I ordered a small rainbow bowl ($10.28). I asked if they have a kid size bowl but they don't. Small and large are the only options. It took about 4 minutes for them to prepare my order. There are two people working in the food truck and it looks like they cut up all the fruit themselves. The presentation is nice, the fruit is very fresh (cut into small pieces, not big chunks) and the Acai at the bottom of the bowl is very cold and icy. There is also granola which adds some texture and a nice crunch. I did find a few blueberries that still have stems on them. This is a refreshing snack. I think I'll be back to try some of the other bowls.

First spoonful - butter bro bowl with subs and honey
    Jenita M.

Super fresh, flavorful and sweet. I got the ButterBro but substituted some things to get more of what I desired. The lady was very helpful and compromising to fit my taste. She omitted the almond butter and Nutella for my request in local honey, peanut butter, strawberries, and raspberries. I enjoyed this Acai bowl much better than that place that starts with an N. Better value and more food for the money for sure. Her coworker was also very nice and friendly as I was their last customer for the day. Nice location if you're following a gps. It's in a little corner of a parking lot next to a bridge. Outdoor picnics tables next to the truck and a port-a-potty.

Rico's Açaí bowls are my favorite in uptown. I always get the rainbow bowl with peanut butter & Nutella. Rico's is located in the 7th street market, Right outside a light rail stop. They also have free Parking for people who shop/eat there... just bring Your parking ticket in with you to get validated

I love the 7th street market! I think it's so cute. The parking is validated for 90 minutes so it's convenient to go to. There are lots of restaurant choices and ricos is one. I wanted something healthy and different. I've actually never had an acai bowl so this was my first experience. I ordered the most popular bowl (rainbow) and It didn't disappoint! It was full of flavor and healthy. There was a lot of fruit and it was delicious. I will be back and try different bowls.

This truck is Sooo Sooo Delicious . After taking my son and our out of town guest (His GodMother and GodBrother) to Discovery Place for some SpringBreak fun we drove down to the park across from the Knights stadium. We decided to walk over to this truck to get something to enjoy while sitting in the park on this sunny Monday (day after Easter) which the boys place and enjoy as well. The people on the truck were sooo friendly and gave us great insight and suggestions. We ended up with two Rainbow bowls and a bowl of strawberries only for the children. The flavor of this bowl was EVERYTHING. The fruit was sooo fresh and all the ingredients just worked together. I can't begin to explain what was included but it was a party in my mouth and a After-Party in my tummy. The price is the con for me Heck it cost nearly $30 for two fruit bowls and a bowl of strawberries. That's just crazy to me being from a Big City where we could get FRESH fruit bowls similar for less than half the price. I'd go again especially to have my hubby try and to introduce others as its a great truck but I will make them aware that it's pricey. My tummy is missing that After Party right now so another visit is in my near future :-)

I preface this by saying: Three stars means it was good, not bad. I was very excited to try Rico's since I am a veteran Acai bowl eater. This is a cute little food truck Acai bowl place located in a parking lot near The Green. I ordered the Acai Berry Bowl. Service was very friendly, always a plus! Upon receiving my bowl, It was beautiful to behold, loaded with gorgeous berries, actually the biggest blueberries I have ever seen. They were gigantic and flavor filled. The disappointing part was the ratio of Acai to the fruit and granola. There was a minuscule amount of Acai at the bottom, you could barely taste it. Wah Wah Wah.... The texture was icy rather than smooth. For the cost it was a bit of a letdown. I'm glad they have so many Yelp fans and I wish them all the best.

I've gotten the rainbow bowl each time. Refreshing and a filling snack. Staff is always friendly and quick. I crave it every once in a while - worth the walk.

Mmmmhmmm... was in Uptown working out and had to stop by Rico's. I absolutely love their Fruit Bowls. I personally am not a fan of the acai puree, so I basically customize my own fruit bowl...same as the Rainbow Bowl minus the acai and I add extra granola for a more crunchier texture. This morning's employee was really nice and held a great conversation with me. The truck is always clean. The prices may seem high for some folks, but if you really like it, you won't mind treating yourself from time to time. Oh Duke Energy bought the lot they are located in and Ricos will be moving up the block near the Cigar Lounge. That may seem a little far for those who work at or near Wells Fargo and Duke Energy. I would recommend using their app if you plan to walk up there, so you don't have to worry about waiting.

    Butterbro!

Try the Rainbow bowl different colorful fruit on top. Or the Butterbro! Has peanut & almond butter, so yummy! Both were good, Rico's is legit. It's good for you and tastes so yummy like a dessert! I've been a handful of times, usually to the one in 7th street market. They've always been patient & polite, and helpful if you have any questions. They mix/make the bowls right there after you order, usually doesn't take too long. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, because it's kinda pricey. Expect to pay around $10 give or take $3 bucks depending on size. Two sizes, small or large, to choose from. / We just recently found the main acai in frozen packs from the store, so we are gonna try to make ours at home to save money - here's to hoping they taste as good as Rico's! Bonus info: *if you go to the one at 7th street market, you can park in that parking garage and validate your ticket inside the market! 1.5 hours free. *Acai is a fruit that comes from South America/ Central America, usually from Belize or Brazil. It usually goes bad quickly that's why you can only find it frozen here in the states. Tastes great in the bowls cold though. They just throw it in the blender and then add it to the bottom of the bowl.

I am a huge fan of acai bowls. So of course during my time visiting Charlotte with my hubby, we were on the search for some acai bowls. While walking in downtown, we noticed Rico's Acai food truck and made our way to order some! One thing I did like was that it was so quick. I got my acai bowl in under 5 minutes and was impressed. I was even more excited to try it out. First, I love peanut butter on my acai bowls and loved that they put a good amount on there. I was satisfied! However, I did not like the consistency of the acai. It was really icy and seemed that it was a bit watered down. It didn't feel creamy or refreshing. It felt like I was eating frozen pieces of acai blended with a lot of ice. I was disappointed. I really wanted to love Rico's but it didn't do it for me.

    Vicki S.

$5 fruit bowl!? Hard to beat Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, kiwi, pineapple, and bananas. Downside: my bananas were warm weird contradiction of cool fresh fruit but warm mushy bananas. Still for $5 can't beat that; I'll just nix the bananas next time.

My friend and have been waiting here for 45 minutes in 98 degree weather. DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION!

I just happen to be working in the area where Roaming Fork sets up on Thursdays out in Ballantyne and was able to grab some tasty lunch. The menu is varied and even has an Asian flare! I went with the recommendation of the cashier. I got the Porky Cheesy and the Truffle fries. The grill cheese had a good crunch and a good amount of filling. I love anytime you mix bbq pork and cheese and this didn't disappoint. The truffle fries get squirted with truffle oil after they come out the grease and have an amazing aroma. I liked the flavor but I love fries with a condiment so I felt like the fries could have used some ranch dipping sauce. The menu has a lot of items I would like to try. Hopefully I'm back in the area where they are located and can give them another try soon. Roaming Fork Thursday October 24, 2019 1pm

These folks may not give you forks, but they know what they're doing! Service has always been friendly and helpful, despite how busy the line can get. The cubanos are amazing - I've gotten the original and also the BBQuban. The OG is super solid, but OMG that BBQ one is just delectable and a great texture. Trust me. Try it. They also have the best yucca fries I've probably ever had. My issue with most yucca fries is that the texture tends to be pretty tough, but these are so soft inside - like they mashed the yucca first and then formed the fries. I don't know what magic they use, but they're incredible, and you must get some. We also got a churro filled with dulce de leche, and it came out nice and hot with lots of cinnamon sugar coating. I didn't love the dulce de leche filling for some reason - maybe I got spoiled by spending time in Argentina - so next time I'll likely go for the regular churro.

Happy to find these guys at Small Bar in the NC Music Factory for PBR Fest. Churning out pizza and wings for the beer crowd. I had heard multiple cheers of praise and glory about this truck's pizza and wings. I was even a little intimidated approaching the order window. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with describing all of the menu items. We ended up getting two slices of cheese, a slice of the buffalo chicken and 5 Carolina Buffalo wings. We sat down with 24oz tallboys in hand and went to town. I was happy to say that the wings are AWESOME. Perfectly cooked, a little crispy on the outside, not dry, tender, slathered generously with amazing sauce. The Carolina Buffalo is a winner. Mustard-based bbq with a plethora of buffalo sauce thrown in. My taste buds were happy. Uhh...they need to make a Carolina Buffalo pizza. (No brainer, yeah?) The only thing that sank my happy sailing dinner experience was the pizza. A little lackluster and the sauce was a bit reminiscent of box pizza from the frozen section in the grocery store. Maybe our slices had been sitting out for a bit, but didn't have the freshest of textures. I did appreciate the crust and enjoyed sopping up the remainder of the wing sauce with them. I can't say that the pizza was banging on all cylinders or a culinary breakthrough, but is definitely reliable. The combo of wings and pizza in one meal from the street, though? Baller status. Grab a tallboy and it's all over. Foodtruck heaven. So happy to have finally tried these guys out and can't wait to see them at Chowdown Uptown in the near future! Carolina Buffalo Pizza, guys!
