I called ahead and he said they charge $30 for a boy's/child cut. We came up there and he cut my son's hair. Just a basic boys cut then told me it was $40. I don't appreciate being misled on price and $40 for a 7 year old's haircut is wild expensive. Honestly, $30 is pricey but I was trying to support small business. Anyway, he barely even spoke to my son the entire time. He's a really nice, young kid. Acknowledge him and make it a positive experience for him. I called and spoke with one of the barbers. I asked if they did hair dye. He said "yes". I drove 30 minutes to get there, couldn't find the location and called again. Someone answered and gave me the directions. The guy who last picked up the phone is the one who did my hair. After spending half of the time having good time talking with a customer and other barbers about random topics (so disrespectful) he decided my hair cut was done and showed me the miror. I was surprised and asked him about the hair dye part. He arrogantly answered "I don't know who you spoke with, I don't dye hair". End of story, no question asked to other barbers. Sounds like I left several barbers who were charging $20 next to me to drive 30 minutes for $32 without getting any satisfaction. Never again will I go to that shop read more

Good hospitality but poor service, Big Phil I think charged me $35 for a taper when I called earlier and he said $25 on the phone. He over charged because I was new not know he cuts my brother. He did terrible on my haircuts only faded one side of my hair and slanted my beard. Never coming here or recommending any here. read more

Looking for a good barbershop??? Well, you dont have to look any further. Excellent barbers who take their time to make to sure you leave looking good. They had several barbers so the wait should never be too long. They also take appointments, which is key when you have a busy schedule. The shop's location is a little hard to spot. They are in the back of a plaza next to Pho Que Huong and the Relaxation. Keep in mind that they don't have a big sign like the other businesses in the area. I've never walked into Stevie J's and seen a barber idle. Everyone is always working and ready to give me a welcoming greeting as soon as I come in, which is important to me because... well, I like to be acknowledged! Lol. Even tho the shop has some of the best barbers, I feel very comfortable as a female client and I think it's cool that there is a straight, male stylist there! I've been going to him for over a year and he has really gotten my hair to it's most healthy state. To top it off, he is very popular with the children and is amazing with the blade! Stevie's J came highly recommended on a whelm I stopped through the Friday before Easter bright in early luckily for me there was a small lull in between customers because the barbers were busy. I had the pleasure of being service by Ken Hill. Now honestly I had totally screwed up my head by trying to cut it a few weeks prior so I went in with a picture of what I was looking for and Ken came through not only did he come through on the cut but he also was able to make suggestions on great hair care products for my hair. If you're looking for a great barber in the DFW I high suggest Ken Hill not only is the location convenient but it's also cleaned and neat but what I love most is the conversation in the barber doesn't make the female clientele cringe. Went here to get my hair fixed because the previous place I went didn't know how to do a taper... looked at reviews and figured this place could help me out. I was very, very wrong. I went and saw a guy named Chris and simply asked him to taper the back of my neck. This dude proceeded to cut my WHOLE HEAD. Talk about the worst fade I've ever gotten. This guy hd no idea what he was doing. Then he flipped the chair back and proceeded to "line up" my beard, except I wouldn't call it a line up because it was crooked as hell! I had to go home and shave off my beard because this guy butchered it so bad. By far my worst experience at a barber shop. Maybe they have some talented barbers, but Chris is not one of them. read more

I went to this shop because it was near my in laws. I walked in and everyone greeted me. I asked for a barber and the next available person was willing to assist me. He offered product information about products I could use for my hair as well as a hair washing regimen to keep my hair healthy. I really like this barbershop. My son likes it too, and he is not easy to please. Slim cuts his hair and does a great job. He's really fast too. Sometimes speed equals a bad haircut, but not in this case. I never have to wait long here. Slim also has a great personality to boot. I would recommend Slim to anyone needing a barber. read more

I tried this shop out because I wanted to find one closer to where I am living and my experience was ok, but the fade could have been better. I'll start with the positives. I didn't have to wait long because they take appointments which is good because you can wait for hours in a barbershop that doesn't. The price was also about the same as most shops are now, $25 for a fade and facial hair. My haircut on the other hand was not good. Nothing against him personally, but I went to Chris (guy with dreads) and he didn't do as well as I hoped. The fade was spotty and uneven on the sides (left was taken up higher that the right. My edge up was also taken back in the front, which is noticeable because you can see my scalp get brighter where my hairline is supposed to be. I'm not sure why he took it back past where my hairline was. Lastly I don't have much of a mustache, he didn't even have to cut it down, but when he edged it up he let the clippers bite me on both sides. Again, nothing personal, but I'll be trying another shop after my hair and edge up grow back in. read more

Very upset and not satisfied with my haircut. Told the barber how I wanted it cut. Once he got started I noticed his clippers pulling my hair rather than cutting it. Couldn't get a word in because every time his phone rang he stopped mid cut to answer it. Haircut that usually takes 15-30 mins took an hour because of this distraction. Got home and realized my head was irritated from the clippers and I have red spots. Never going back again! read more

Slim and Stevie J are the best and most professional Barbers I have met . For 8 years I have searched for a combination of professionalism , skills and convenience. I have taken my son to variety of different places with no avail. I finally found this little hidden Secret close to home and just by accident might I add. We have had at least 10 cuts and I have been satisfied with each and everyone . I am not a big fan of waiting all day and waisting my Saturday especially. However, I would wait a good amount of time to get a great cut for my son. The thing that is the icing on top is that you don't have to here. If you take the time to call ahead even on a busy Saturday you won't wait long . As far as the prices are they are right on point . They aren't charging outrages prices like Roosters up the street that aren't even consistent on quality . This place is my life saver!!! Say this shop on Yelp and figured I'd give it a try because of the positive reviews. Walked in received a couple of angry glares from the barbers. Not a word was said to me so I took the initiative and said whats up. I sit down and wait. One barber finished with his client and sits down in a waiting chair... props his feet in the barber chair he just cut from and gets on his phone. Keep in mind at this point none of the 3 barbers working have said a word to me or asked if I'm waiting for someone. Eventually another barber finishes and asks who I'm waiting on. Being my first time at the shop I say I'm not waiting on anyone specific. He points to the barber with his feet on the chair who finished 10 minutes ago and says he'll get me. Well if dumb dumb had asked me earlier he could've been cutting me instead of sitting on his phone. So now I try and explain how I want it cut. This guy had a serious attitude and edge on him the entire time I was walking him through how I wanted the cut. During the entire cut he doesn't say a word to me, ask my name, or just act friendly. Disappointed. GO ELSEWHERE to get a haircut. These guys aren't the least bit friendly or intelligent. The haircut was decent.
