We were greeted at the front with a very warm and friendly welcome by Janet who also was our server. Her energy was so vibrant & comforting, especially at such a later hour when there wasn't much foot traffic going on. Her customer service made our experience there amazing and we would definitely return because of her. I've worked restaurant for many years in management and I can say she checked off many qualities of a great worker. Food was great, we finished every bite. Tender ribs and my favorite meal - salmon was delicious! The hot chocolate was the perfect touch and Janet even gave me a hot chocolate to go which helped keep me warm through my ride back. Yes it's pretty basic but what they do, they do really well. We decided to go for breakfast. I ordered three eggs, any style with hashbrowns and toast. This was $12.54. I do not eat meat and often times having just eggs is not even an option.. I asked for my toast to be well toasted and all of this was executed well. The eggs were cooked as I had ordered, there was not a hint of grease on the plate. There was no taste of stale fat which you often get when the kitchen are not changing the oil as often as they should. My toast was very brown as I had asked, often times I'll ask for well toasted bread and it will come out not well toasted at all! I server told me that the owner had cooked my breakfast, which I guess is an honor lol My boyfriend ordered a breakfast burrito $13.48 with added chilis and he said it was very tasty. The icing on the cake is they have several TVs in there and the tennis channel was on and there was some live tennis going on, so we enjoyed watching that, sitting at the bar. Kristin, if I caught her name correctly, was running the universe behind that bar. Mixing drinks, serving dinner, managing patrons, and somehow still staying friendly through it all. Watching bartenders during dinner rushes always feels a little like witnessing Olympic-level multitasking. I was especially excited to order the hearts of palm cakes because hearts of palm were a staple in my childhood home. Sadly, they were out of them. A small heartbreak occurred. I survived bravely. Roadtrip mode had fully turned us into tapas people by then, so we ordered a spread of appetizers and a salad to share. The Inn's famous sautéed mushrooms absolutely deserved their reputation, buttery, garlicky, lemony little flavor bombs. The toasted ravioli with house marinara disappeared quickly, the beet and orange salad was fresh and balanced, and the falafel bites were tasty, though I personally would have loved them just a bit crispier. I enjoyed a couple of Old Fashioneds, and the live music that evening was genuinely excellent. The woman performing had one of those voices that makes you stop mid-bite for a second just to listen. We thought the service would be slow as we sat outside and seated ourselves but it wasn't bad. The server was nice; when our side orders were forgotten at first, it was quickly rectified when we pointed it out. The bathroom was clean and had adequate aeration. They close 4 and 5 pm, between lunch and dinner. It was quiet when we arrived which was a nice respite.
