It is three days later - Monday - and my electricity is purring along while we have a power outage expected to last for hours. Incredible timing! The power keeps coming back on and going back out and I haven't even registered a blip on my computer screen. I've been in meetings and working like normal. Amazing timing! AHS was the most reasonable of the four companies I got quotes from. Meo was communicative and good to work with. There were some issues with timeliness and communication with his installers, but they were relatively minor. Thien, the representative who commissioned the system and met the city inspector, was a gem. I definitely recommend this company.

Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. Jose is an excellent employee and my mom had a great experience working with him.

Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

What impressed me was they are engineers, not sales people, and have their own local crews. They know their technical stuff in minute detail. They listened to me and what I wanted. No sales pressure. I got top of the line REC 430W panels and a Powerwall 3. Their process from design to installation was always professional and prompt. The only slow parts were waiting on PG&E to inspect, etc. Pricing was fair, though hardly inexpensive. Thus it's great when you have a rewarding experience and are very satisfied. We highly recommend Nabu Energy. SINCE THE INSTALL: We've enjoyed a HUGE savings on our PG&E bills because of Nabu. Many bills during Spring - Fall were $0 for electricity! The Powerwall app indicates when the battery is fully charged (around noon), so I can use the excess panel energy to charge my EV in the afternoon hours. It's exactly what we wanted. Thanks Nabu!

Sarah is the nicest and great worker has been my only contact and she is not a technician. I requested a pre site visit to review the job and draw up plans and I was told it is billable. So no pre site visit was ever completed. So removal went well. Install is a disaster. We are now 5 days in and I have no working system. I had 2 inverters and wanted to go to one. I was told the Tesla inverter could do that. Today the team removed my 2 old inverters and mounted the Tesla inverter. They then went to the panels and there was no Tesla MCI to connect to the panels. 18 of my panels might not be compatible with the Tesla inverter. 1, I do not have a building permit. This work is being performed while it is in process. 2. There is no install plan. Every time the installers came I had to be project manager. They did not know I was going to 1 inverter. 3. Even when the inverter was in the truck the team did not know I am going to one inverter. 4. My old inverters have been removed and are not usable. Save yourself my pain hire a reputable solar company.

Through it all, our sales contact, Jason Coolman, was patient and knowledgeably answer our questions as they came up. Everyone at Solar Technologies that we worked with was great. They made sure that things went smoothly and on time. We are thrilled with our new solar system. Solar Technologies has been a Bay Area Sunshares vendor for many years and a lot of other reviewers sound like they're as happy as we are. Down the street from us, a large cluster of neighbors hired Solar Technologies and I have only heard good things from those I've spoken to.

My home had solar installed by Sunnova (they were contracted with my home builder), which now is going bankrupt. Sunnova hasn't responded to any inquiries I've had, or helped me even see if my panels are working, for months. So, I basically have an orphan project. I called around to multiple highly ranked solar companies in the area, trying to see if anyone could help, but all of them were either booked out until the end of the year, and/or they didn't take on any projects they themselves didn't install. Rising Sun Electrify was immediately confident when I called them and shared they've taken on multiple orphan projects, so this is not a big deal. They were able to come immediately the next day to check on how my system was set up, then sent me a proposal later that afternoon for how to get my Enphase box commissioned. After I confirmed I was good to go with the proposal, they were able to schedule me in just 2 days later. Truly incredible service, fast, and very competent as well. They are not the cheapest nor the highest but it was the detail of work listed on the contract that told me this is a roofer that I can trust and knows what they are doing. Jacob is an easy going and easy to work with person. Unlike alot of contractors, they purposely ommit some items on the contract because they know you don't know the stuff, and nickle and dime you through out the work process. The job foreman Alex and his brother Omner are true professionals. They know the stuff and very courteous. They even power wash my front/ back / side yards/ drive way and my garage doors during the clean up process. And this was not even in the contract!!! They told me this is their protocal for every job they do. When the job was completed, Jacob provided me a final inspection approval from the city and roof warranty registration from CertainTeed within 3 days. Lastly, I am a builder and developer. I worked with lots of contractors and Moctezuma stood out on all spectrum.

Pros - The project manager, Billy, has strong supplier connections and was able to get DaVinci tiles at a good price and pass the savings on to us. He also secured competitive pricing for copper gutter guards. - He is technically savvy and very knowledgeable about all aspects of roofing. You feel like you are working with a true industry veteran. - He speaks excellent English and communicates clearly. - When we pointed out areas that needed improvement, he was accommodating and made corrections without pushback. - The estimate was reasonable for this type of project and closely matched typical pricing for similar work in the San Francisco Bay Area. A couple of the other companies we contacted were noticeably higher. - The crew was highly skilled and worked very efficiently. They nearly completed the entire roof in about five days. - The finished roof looks beautiful and the craftsmanship is excellent. - We were given some extra spare roof tiles for future repairs so we won't have to worry about matching issues. Cons - The project started later than expected. We were initially told November or December, but work did not begin until late January. We received only one day of notice before the crew arrived. - Not all potential extra costs were clearly quantified in advance. The contract noted possible added charges for plywood replacement, but we were not shown photos or told about dry rot until the final walkthrough, along with a 1,500 dollar extra charge. The copper gutter guard cost was also not disclosed until then. - The tile quantity was underestimated. The crew ran out of tiles, causing a delay while more were shipped from Kansas. We had to purchase an additional 400 square feet of tiles, increasing the total cost by about 3,500 dollars and extending the timeline. - At the walkthrough, there was no itemized invoice for the additional charges totaling about 10,000 dollars. We were told an itemized statement could be emailed later. It felt unusual to be asked to pay based only on verbal totals. - After the final walkthrough and payment, we were later told we still owed another 1,000 dollars due to a misquote on the extra tile cost. That change after payment did not feel very professional. Overall, although some parts of the process could have been handled better, we are very happy with the quality of the finished roof. We would still choose Moctezuma Roofing again and would recommend them based on the workmanship and final result.

Chris came out early on a Saturday morning to meet me and inspect my attic. He provided a free estimate, according to my availability, not his which I greatly appreciated. When the crew came out they were on time and very professional and courteous. I would also like to add that it was A very hot day yet, they took their time and did not try to rush or take any short cuts. They sealed off everything in the work area and did a very thorough clean up after the work was done. I feel I was given a very fair estimate and even with my job being so small, they still spent most of the day onsite. If you suspect you have a rodent issue in your attic, I recommend Atticare.

Last year, I had to replace a 30+ year old unique shingle roof. My 30+ years experience in the bay area is that beautiful homes always have beautiful roofs and that new roof choices have negatively impacted the appearance and value of many homes. Consequently, I was looking for a roofing company which could replace my roof with one that was beautiful. I also wanted a company that had been in business in the bay area for a while, and that I felt confident would be around if I needed repairs in a few years. Of the 17 roofers I contacted, 15 said "thanks but no thanks" because much of our two story high roof has a 45 degree pitch with numerous types of design elements including hips, ridges, gables, dormers, an eyebrow, a turret, several valleys as well as flat and almost flat areas and even an element called a "hog valley". Furthermore, I wanted to install a 3500 watt solar panel solution on the largest flat area such that it would not be visible from the ground. In addition, my copper gutters were sagging and needed support added in an integrated and attractive way. Finally, last but not least, the existing roof had a unique "thatched" appearance that I wanted replicated. Of the 2 roofing companies that bid my project, I picked Ridout Roofing , a 3rd generation roofing company, because I felt they had the experience and passion for building the type of roof that I was looking for... My project took the estimated time of almost 4 months; Ridout was on time every workday; there were no surprises; the roof is spectacular; the solor system works perfectly, and my cost was exactly as bid. Well, I called them for a quote to fix my damaged roof. They actually picked up on a Saturday. Wanted a $170 Emergency fee to fix the roof on Saturday, so I told him I would call back after calling some other places. Called back Monday, asked them to come look at the roof and give me a quote. Showed up a couple hours late for the appointment, looked at the roof and left without even telling anyone at the house. He called me and quoted $384 to fix my roof, which I thought was kind of high. Went to Home depot, bought a bundle of shingles for $26, and a box of nails $5, in less than an hour, my daughters boyfriend had the roof fixed, he used to do roofing. I asked for a itemized quote for a new roof in addition to the repair, I all got was a phone call and a piece of paper that said $384 on it for 'Residence Maintenance Repair', nothing for a new roof. I think they need to listen better to what 'potential' customers are saying if they want there business, I'll be going with someone else. read more

Ugh. Juan Herrera who "has been with the company 20 years" was hugely unprofessional and nasty to deal with. First he showed 45 minutes late for his estimate. Then refused to provide any professional guidance on where to place gutters and downspouts, repeating the ridiculous mantra "just tell me what you want." "Just tell me what you want." At one point he conceded the number of downspouts you install is important because of water volume and flow, then refused to help us figure out if 1 would suffice or if we needed 2. If you dont want to deal with this kind of short fuse and lack of professionalism-- someone who puts a big smile on their face while being vicious and rude-- don't deal with this company. read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I really appreciate your prompt service to my roofing needs! We called out Ridout Roofing during the rainy season to fix a leak in our skylight. We had a really old shake roof and were pretty worried about the rainy season but didn't have the money to replace the whole roof. They fixed up all our leaks and let us know that our roof wasn't pretty but It'd hold up for another year or two. They were right! No leaks and we had a couple of years to save up. Rene was extremely patient and answered all my questions about what and why something was being done. There were a few days when no one or only one showed up due to other projects where they were needed, but I did not have a problem with that. They left my area clear and clean. I am definitely satisfied with the work, cost and service that was done.

After calling 3 other companies who all quoted very different solutions up to and including replacing the roof, Mike came in and quoted me a repair to get me by for another couple years before replacing the roof. He was able to get the repair squeezed into his schedule within 2 days, because major rain was coming! They showed up on time and completed the repairs for me in one day and before the rain started! And best of all, NO LEAKING once the rain started! I've already recommended Mike at Banner roofing to several neighbors and I would hire them again in a heartbeat if necessary.

I hired General Roofing to repair a leak in my front porch roof. The estimator came over and told…read moreme it could be repaired with a simple treatment that would extend the life of the current roof for two to three years, after which time it would need to be treated again or replaced. I agreed, and his technician came over to "repair" the roof a few weeks later. That same night, we had rain. I had only placed one bucket in the room because I thought the roof was fixed. Unfortunately this was not the case. The entire room was soaked--see photos. I called them and let them know; they said they would someone out to "repair" the roof again. I declined, saying I did not trust their word or their work, and hired another contractor, who came and fixed my roof the following month. Meanwhile, General Roofing has continued to invoice me for the supposed "repair".
