Poorcquality.. Just had our 49 year old guaranteen roof replaced. I have photos showing where Ridout installed plywood under the shingles, they left gaps around the chimmney.Also over one room missing a large gap that caused a water leak and damage to our ceiling and walls. read more

I started a process back in October of 2021 to have someone from Rideout Roofing fix a repair to our roof - they were the original roofing installer - so I called them at the beginning of 2021 to repair my roof - they came out supposedly to fix the leak & charged me $500.00 - (which I was fine with - then the rains started in October - & the leak was back - So I called them to have them come back - It's now June of 2022 - they promised me they would make another appointment - which they did not - it's now June & I called back - they put me in touch with the scheduling MGR (Juan) 7 he now just told he would not send someone out to fix our roof - DO NOT USE RIDEOUT ROOFING FOR YOUR ROOF JOB - WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE ROOFING COMPANY!!!! read more

Just had my daughter's roof replaced by Ridout. Second time I've used them and I'm again completely happen with the result. They offered a very competitive price, and they did a beautiful, quick job, just 2 days total with a complete tear-off. On top of that, they're a union company with well-trained and fairly paid, insured workers, important considerations for me. Juan, Elias and his crew were great to work with, answering my questions as the roof required some dry rot repairs. They did exactly what they promised and left the place absolutely clean and tidy. First, for anyone who wants to skip reading: I recommend Ridout Roofing if you just want to get the job done and timing isn't an issue. We had a small roof leak during the rainy period in December and used them. Background: I really did my research. There were two other roofing companies on Yelp with more stars but I went a step further and checked Better Business Bureau online (I don't know much about roofs, therefore the extra steps). Both had some questionable issues and Ridout Roofing was neutral. Pros: nice people -- told me right away about the hourly rate -- got the job done -- haven't had any issues with the roof since. Cons: Rescheduling one too many times for a small leak, and I had to be the one to call after not hearing from the company on the day they said they'd call. Lackluster customer service (started off well and went downhill). No follow-up or thorough explanation of the work that happened during that hour on the roof. read more

We had a roof repair done by Ridout. The work was adequate but very misleading. We were quoted a rate but the office person did not clarify it was "per worker". The person who takes calls at the office, who by the way is far from courteous, will quote you a labor "minimum" charge. The number of workers they send to your home will then double or triple that charge depending on how many workers arrive - very shady business practices. The workers presented no document stating this, and left the site without informing me the work was done. Stay away if you don't want surprises. read more

I had Ridout do a roof for my newly remodeled home. Large single story home with a unique pitch in the back of the home. The crew that came out was very neat about the tear off of the existing (old) roof and quickly had the sheeting down for the new roof. The whole job was completed in a few days including new rain gutters and spouts. The price was very comparable to competitors. My neighborhood has been going through new roofs around and I talked with them about their cost and found mine to be just slightly higher then the average roof, about 5% . What makes this interesting is I had just added a 1000 square feet to my single story home. After the job was complete we had some request about the finish to our overhangs and trim. Ridout was right on it with no issues and finished request. I would recommend Ridout and will use them again for sure. I never understand the filtered reviews, Please check them for Ridout. Ridout did a job for me July 2006. I needed to have a flat section of T&G roof replaced. The construction was that a second roof (2x4 stringers & plywood) had been built directly upon the first. There had been leakage, and the secondary roof was rotten and termite infested. As usual, for major work like this I got multiple estimates. Ridout was the second highest. I specified the work to be done explicitly calling out removal of the rotten secondary roof when requesting the estimate, however Ridout proposal did not specifically state this. I called and talked with my estimator, Terry Walters, at length. He assured me that the work would include this, they would "go down to the original tongue and groove ceiling and build up from there". In response to this, I decided to accept the estimate. I noted on the original proposal the discussed details as per Terry's directions, then signed and returned this proposal. After the construction crew had worked a few hours I checked their progress, and found they were NOT removing the rotten second roof, but rather were preparing to put new roofing materials over it, so I stopped the work. John Bolivia came over and made a new estimate on the spot. He said it would be a additional "maximum" of $1600, even though the original contract clearly called for removal of the rotten secondary roof. Due to my time constraints I had no choice but to accept the new estimate. Ridout charged me the entire "maximum" of $1600, on top of the original estimate of $3050. Note that this is NOT the case of finding additional repairs to be done in the normal course of work, but rather charging extra for doing only the specific work called out in the original contract. I contacted Ridout again after the job was complete and clearly documented the situation and requested adjustment. They did not reply. While the quality of the work was acceptable, their business integrity was not. Ridout was dishonest and cheated me by not doing the specific work their contract specified until forcing me to pay additional fees. I do not recommend Ridout. read more

They were to show up on Monday, they didn't... and on one day one of their roofers gave my mother attitude. Plus, one day they left SHOES on my roof. Yeah, kinda tacky much? This was our second excellent experience with Ridout. 6 years ago when our older shake roof had developed some holes, we got a bunch of estimates, and all of them told us that we needed a full replacement. Ridout told us that our roof was in good enough shape to be patched, and their work has held up nicely for the past 6 years. This year, I noticed a few beams of light coming into the attic, so called them again (we have crows cracking nuts on the roof and damaging the shakes). Again, Ridout came out and inspected the roof and felt that the damaged areas could be taken care of and get us a few more years. Daniel (who did the job last time) was incredible! He was wonderful to deal with, work a mask when taking with me, and worked on the roof while I was viewing the underside from the attic - and patched all the visible holes. Then he spent another 2 hours repairing damaged shakes and inspecting the entire roof. The total cost was very reasonable. Overall a six star experience. read more

My husband and I very impressed by the amazing customer service provided by Ridout Roofing Co. After the last big storm, we knew it was time to replace our roof. When we started the process of getting estimates and researching roofing companies. We decided to drop by Ridout Roofing in San Leandro, CA. I have been commuting past Ridout Roofing for 20 plus years. Michelle was very gracious to us when we stopped by on July 5th. We were able to make an appointment for Juan to come out and do a free estimate. We did not have to be home for the inspection and we received an quote within three days by email. The information and links sent was very informative, however, we still had questions about singles, gutters, gutter guards and down spouts. Which led to another visit to Ridout Roofing to visit their show room located at their facility. After we made our selection, signed the contact and left 10% down payment and I think the hardest thing for us was knowing we had to wait until Ridout Roofing were able to start our project. No time was being wasted, we received notices for City of Hayward inspection and notice of when our roofing materials were receive, which also gave us time, to clear trees away from house. Our roof was installed in 4 days (1 day to removal of old roof, City of Hayward before inspection and haul away old roof and debris). Special note: no stray nails or any trash left around yard, everything hauled way. The gutter, gutter guards and down spouts installed 1 day following completion of room installation. Final invoice for completion of installation arrived ten days after completion. Yes, I would recommend Ridout Roofing our new roof was installed with quality workmanship and is beautiful! I was shocked to see the reviews here. We had our roof installed 13 years ago. The experience was great. We have recommended Them to many people all whom were happy. This past week after a particular windy January we noticed a few missing shingles. My husband called their office & set up an appointment to check our roof. 3 days later the owner himself came out to evaluate our roof. It was determined the shingles were not properly applied. 3 days later our roof was repaired at no charge. If it took 13 years for a few improperly placed shingles to fall off due to extremely high winds and fixed at no cost I'd say they are a very reputable company. They put a new wood shingle roof on our house a couple of years ago and they did a fine job. Our homeowner association forced us to put a fire proof board under the fire resistant thicker shingle and Ridout did everything for us on time and on budget. I was a bit stressed when I was told by my contractor that I needed a new roof. I did my research and contacted 3 roofing companies in the bay area. All came out and gave me estimates and told me the latest and greatest in roofing materials. I decided to go with Ridout because of Rob Elliot. He was really professional, returned all of my emails and calls and he was really honest about what my home really needed. He knew all about roofing and did not try to oversell me. The job was done in less then two days! His team had over 40 years of experience between them and though I work from home, they did not bother me and my dogs. Bummed that this did not turn out better. They did a decent job tearing off the old roof, and the workers were splendid. I think the new roof is strong and water-tight now. Unfortunately, their quality control (oversight of the final steps of roofing) was not good. During the final stretch of roofing, as the roofing materials were put in place, the official troubleshooter Ridout sent to talk with me, and to explain what was being done, was defensive and dismissive. Ultimately I was referred to Ridout Roofing via word of mouth from multiple contractors I know and trust. I felt compelled to provide Steve Ridout and his company a 5 star endorsement and share our experience. Steve personally took time to educate me on the positives and negatives of the options from type of gutters to facia and eve exposure to comp versus metal versus wood shake and shingle roofs. Your architect and designer might have a certain vision but function, warranty and budget are things they sometimes overlook. Ridout really helped me understand my options and the associated costs. Their installers were professional even bringing their own bathroom to the job site. They left the site site cleaner than when they arrived. My wife and I love the look and function of our roof. Beware of this company! We had a suntube to install so two workers came into our house to our attic space to work on it. They installed it and very next day we were burglarized. We had a small fire safe up in the attic, took that and targeted just the master bedroom and closet. A police report was made but unfortunately no one was caught and none of my things were recovered. read more

Do not have these people work on your home. Price was good and they came recommended but when it came time to do the job I was HIGHLY disappointed. They started on the day they were supposed to. What was supposed to be a 2-3 day job turned into two+ weeks. They stopped coming out after a day and I found out from one of their laborers that a big job came up that they felt was more important to start before they finished mine. They wouldn't compensate me at all when I complained (and complained, and complained). Also they left a lot of debris around the property instead of spending a little time to do a job right. read more

I had to make few phone call to reminded their people to clean up all trashes and boxes left on my roof after the job done. They would only return your phone call if you call for the payment.
