I always choose this rigos taco out of any Mexican food around always delicious. I've been here maybe 10 times and the lady is always kind. The food is always so good.Well on my last visit as I came in with a craving for my usual Gordita de asada..I bit into a raw barely cooked tortilla.the one that is supposed to be fried well it taste like play do and looked like it too. I assumed he the cook made a mistake or something, so as I kindly explained my self and said it wasn't cooked well.the man which was the cook and I believe may of been the owner he was light skinned colored eyes and short.well he burst out with anger saying "That's the way it came out too bad.. what, do u want it raw?do u want your money back is that what then take it... WTF!!!I the employees looked scared and used to this mistreatment I can't imagine how he "runs this place... I couldn't believe how I was spoken to so I left the food paid and walked away and will never come back to this place again. read more

If i could give 0 stars i would. I been wanting to share my experience but never got the chance. I was coming from Vegas on the travel bus and hadn't ate anything before, and the whole ride all I was thinking about was chile rellenos from the mexican joint by my house. So I was starving and ended buying the chile relleno plate to go, comes with beans and salad. I got home and was so excited when I opend the box it smelled like rancid milk or cheese, I totally ignored the smell and started with the salad first and gave some of the beans to my 2 year old daughter. I mentioned to my husband about the smell and told him it might be a diffrent cheese because there is a cheese that smells like feet. I cut the first peace and the moment I put it on my mouth I spit it out and new right off the bat that the cheese was rotten. I was so furious I wanted to cry because I was so hungry. I went back and I was nice about it and told the cook that works there in a whispering voice, because I didnt want to embarrase him or the restaurant. I told him "I was just here and my chile relleno smells like rotten milk and I tried it and spit it out. " He smelled it and he made a face(smelly). He asked if I want my money back or something else from the menu and I asked for my money back. I was to grossed out to order anything else from this place. I got my money back but got no aplogy at all. Didnt admit to their mistake. Nothing. I am very dissapointed in this place. A hole in the wall Mexican food joint with typical offerings that allows you to judge a book by its cover. I had the bean and cheese burrito. Call me a traditionalist. The beans were fine, but a bit on the bland side. When I think of the key to a great burrito, I think "Brad Pitt." I mean, sitting there eating it with me. I josh. Obviously, it's the beans. My friend had the taquitos as recommended by the cook with the octopus arms that kept giving his colleague shoulder massages. We stopped by to pick up some dinner, we ordered Asada tacos, torta and a gordita, we get home and literally had to throw away all the food, it was not asada meat it was a mixture of nasty meats with spices. I called the restaurant and asked why my asada orders tasted different, he said because it wasn't asada it was Carne picada, which is exactly a mixture of nasty meats including ground beef, I asked him why the hell would they not tell me this when I specifically ordered asada, he said because that's the way we cook our meat here, I told him that's deceiving and the food was nasty. I stopped at this place specifically to get a nice, warm, tasty champurrado. It's been cold lately so I'd been craving it for a few days. I ordered a large size champurrado and two carne asada tacos to go. The tacos were okay but the champurrado was disgusting! It was runny but it also had lumps of this mucus-like substance. It was so runny it actually looked like horchata. Plain nasty! I had to throw it away because there was no way I was gonna risk getting sick. read more

Wow I must say how awful this place was, I do not see how they can compete and remain open considering the much better options in the area. The meat was very grisly and had no flavor, the burrito was made very lazily since one bite was all onion followed by a bite of all beans and with very little meat. Then the salsa, which I thought to add to give it some flavor, was old and had started fermenting. I had to throw out the food and now I hope I don't get sick from this dump. By the way... Save your money, not worth it. Ordered 6 Asada tacos around 8pm, they warmed the tortilla but took meet from a container and didn't even put it on the grill to warm it. Never have I been to a taco spot that didn't at least cook meat right there to warm it. Didn't have any flavor and was dry. I am supremely picky about my carne asada tacos. The slightest nerve or piece of fatty meat and it ruins my meal. I had the four asada taco plate and it was delicious. Soft delicious asada meat. My girlfriend likes cabeza and lengua tacos and they charge extra for those. Tiny eat in space but great on taste. We will definitely come back for our taco fix! read more

This place is perfect for CSUN students since they give a discount and give free refills. It's cheap, quick and good. I always get the taco's with a drink, their melon is the best drink to get on a hot day. It's so refreshing and sweet. Only complaint is the service could be more professional. Other than that I had an agua de pina which was refreshing along with a carne asada quesadilla. Very satisfied, good amount of food, meat was slightly undercooked for my taste though. Surprised that they would try to charge for sour cream but the cook ended up giving me some for free. I grow up eating Rigo's Taco in North Hollywood. This place in Northridge by far is the best one. The food is very flavorful. The grill Chicken plate is the best. My Husband ordered the Steak Quesadilla. He absolutely loved it. Only down fall is that they don't have fountain drink's (coke,sprite etc.) only canned one. But they have horchata, Melon & Pina drinks. They do accept credit card also. read more

Was craving Mexican food and this place hit the spot. My sister and I got a burrito and they were HUGE! They have an awesome salsa bar with grilled onions and other yummy stuff! Cute Authentic Mexican decor. The horchata was great and the melon water was on point. Best part was the free drink refills. Their menu looks so good! They have an abundant mexican menu. OK so I call ahead of time to get my food ready to go And the lady said that it would take 10 minutes. I get there in 15 minutes and they had not started preparing my food. The place was dead there was no reason for me to wait, in addition to that I called and asked what the toppings were and the lady said that avocado was included. when I got there and got my meal I check my food and there was no avocodo on the plate, I asked her about it and she claims she never said that so she lied to me over the phone But am also disappointed on the fact that the prices rose to $13 for a plate of chips with a lot of beans , watered down liqud cheese. Been eating from this location for a couple years now. Always been great and tasty. Today was a carne asada burrito which was just full of rice and nearly no meat at all. If I had the option I wouldn't leave a star, I stopped by in the morning on my way to work and was super hungry... I thought hey why not a Riggo's to start off my morning...wrong! I got a breakfast burrito- egg, ham, hash brown; it was small, no flavor, and extremely salty, the saltines overpowered any flavor from the egg or ham. Plus it was overpriced, $6.75!!! I thought it would be worth it and it wasn't :( you're better off with any other fast food drive through. We are thrilled to have a taco shop open in the area. Until Rigo's opened we always drove up to Socorro's. Rigo's is great for a late night snack after dancing or movie. The food is ok. Service is nice but I still prefer Socorro's with its homemade tortillas and cafe de la olla. read more
