Hidden little gem in Glendale. I only came here really quickly for a few pounds of beef short ribs, so I'll need to come back to explore their little market. I arrived on a late Saturday morning and the store was pretty busy. Ordered my beef from the counter and the butcher in the back was super helpful; he made sure the slice I needed was thin enough to my liking. Actually cooked the beef up today on the grill and it was heavenly. The marinade was great, but the cut was so tender and juicy and brought it all together. Good selection of grocery products and ingredients from Argentina, and other yelpers have commented favorably on the meat counter. The empanadas vary: the ham one is more béchamel than ham, but the beef one is good (including the authentic hard-boiled egg in the meat filling. The cheese empanada doesn't benefit from being under the heated case but it's ok; the pastry shell in all cases is tasty. They're nice folks, too; check 'em out if you're reasonably local. read more

So far I've had the Espinaca/Spinach, C carne / meat, H humitas /maíz corn, Pollo / chicken. I think it's great how they print the letter of the flavor on the dough/crust of each empanada. This place sells top notch, well marbled, high quality meats like Entrana, Picanha and Asado! They typically run out of Picanha so it's best to call ahead of time. It's a small market and I know it markets itself as Argentinian, but they have staple groceries from many South American countries. If you are Peruvian, I highly recommend stopping by Rincon Argentino, you can buy many important dry or frozen products from Peru. I didn't try any of their fresh dishes or baked goods, but I am rating them 5 stars for their market supply I was very impressed by. I hope to become a regular customer. :) read more

The best empanadas and sandwich de migas ever! My Argentinian relatives ONLY shop here and they know and I know and Jesus and the other person that yelped this place know its the best place for Argentinian goodies. The empanadas are made with care, with the edges perfectly sealed in a half moon. They are not deep fried like those other trashy empanada places do it. How dare they disrespect their motherland like that. They don't add just a dollop of filling and covered it with some low quality mass produced dough like some impostors do. When you bite into a Rincon Empanada, you bite into solid filling goodness that would make a polar bear smile. The Rincon babies are baked till perfectly browned. The fillings are authentic like the Empanada criolles. I always get the spinach: it not only has spinach, but a mild white cheese and chunks of hard boiled egg. And that's how they do it. With chunks of hard boiled egg in everything.That's how my Aunt makes them, che. And the sandwich de migas? It's like a glorified English tea party. Layers of white wonder bread with a surprise in each layer (jamon, roasted peppers, cheese) stacked up to form a loaf shape. It's all fun and dandy eating these, because you can pick which layer you want to eat. Very carnivore/omnivore/herbivore friendly. read more

I have been buying Picanhas (punta trasera) here for the past 3-4 years. This is the best place to get your meats, and condiments to prepare chimichurri and also I noticed they started selling Frescolitas a very awesome Venezuelan Soda. Last night my baby went out to get dinner and low and behold she brought back Empanada's..... All I could do was eat them & eat them til they were all gone!!!!! :P Not that I am a expert in judging Empanada's but I will say hands down some of the best I have ever had.... I did have a slice of the pizza well lets just say they will never be known for there Pizza!!! It's a small Argentinian market/deli. I love the empanadas, especially the spinach ones. They also have ham and cheese, and beef. They are always fresh and warm. They also sell pizza by the slice or the whole. Very good. I have purchased other breads there and the crustless sandwiches which were all tasty and inexpensive. There is a lot of wine and meats to choose from. The staff is friendly and customer services is great. Parking is on the street, limited but can usually find a spot. read more

They have numerous products that remind me my childhood, such as bakery goods, chocolates, empandas, pizza, milanesa, etc. Too bad that the lady that helped me was SO UNFRIENDLY that it made my day less pleasant. The corn was fresh and super sweet. It worked well with the cheese. Cheese - 4 out of 5 - You can't go wrong with a baked pastry filled with cheese! Spinach - 2 out of 5 - The only one I didn't really care for. I the spinach was just bland. OVERALL I can see why people rave about the empanadas here. They are top notch. I woke in the middle of the night really wanting good empanadas. Rincon Argentino came up and it's fairly close to home. When they opened at 10 a.m., I was there. I bought beef, chicken, spinach & cheese, and ham & cheese -- a total of 14. Their empanada pastry is similar to pizza dough, not a pie pastry, and they're baked, not fried. The dough is super thin and each is stamped with the a letter to denote what's inside. The fillings are very moist with excellent flavor. The long and the short of it is that these are EXCELLENT. I have no idea how much they cost each, but it was very reasonable. I ate one and then froze the bunch, parceled them into zip bags, and shared with my extended family. Reheat in the oven (on foil) at 350 degrees for 30 mins. Perfect and delicious. I had one for breakfast and have one left. Will head back asap to get more for the freezer. What an outstanding find! I came here for the first time about 10-12 years ago and thought the prices were a little higher than the other Argentinian market I used to go. Note back then, I used to live closer to the other market. It didn't make sense for me to drive here and pay more for the same products I could get at cheaper costs. Many years passed and we moved to Glendale/La Crescenta. Whenever I need something, I'd still drive thinking I was saving money, but the drive there is full of traffic and tedious. Last month, a friend of mine tried something at his friend's place and they told him it was from Rincon. He asked me to stop by there and check. WOW! Why was I driving so far when I had this little gem in my neighborhood? I'd rather pay a little more, but save gas and specially the time! The workers there are so nice! Quality of the meat is great! I recently did a BBQ and everyone was raving about the tenderness of the meat. I recommend their empanadas, meat, frozen products, wine. Have yet to try their pizza, but I imagine they're good too. read more

I love family run businesses like this one. It is my go to place for all my meats for when I do Argentine asados. Great empanadas as well. It has a surprisingly great wine selection - and some good wine deals too. The butcher is a master behind the counter! Classic Argentine pastries as well. Highly recommended! I always spend more than I expect to there (not because of the prices, but because I stack up too many things on the counter to take with me) but I get over it as soon as I get home and unpack the bag! Where to begin? The empanadas and everything on the menu is to die for. Really really good! I am so lucky that I live two blocks away from Rincon Argentino. The staff is super friendly and helpful. In fact, a classy gentleman from the store introduced me to the Catena Zapata wine collection. By far and without a doubt the best wine I have ever had. I regularly and proudly go here every Saturday to re-stock on wine and other goodies.
