Rio Hondo has great employees except Scott Wally. Rio is a great course to play and a great range to be on. They do a great job of keeping the course up to par but, Scott is a very unhappy man. He has power around the clubhouse and he abuses it. Scott will treat you like he doesn't care about you. It is time to pass the torch to someone new who cares about customers. Scott Wally needs to retire or take a hike. He is a very quick to anger person. He doesn't care about growing the game of golf. It is sad. Other employees I can tell don't like him! He called my guys, gangsters. I wish he would knew who he was talking about because, some of my guys are African American, was he being racist? Scott along with Steve need to take a hike. New management is needed at such a great golf course. Scott needs to make sure he treats everyone with respect, a listening ear, and not be so into himself. I don't care if he has a PGA pro card. If you're not a nice/respectful person then, I don't care for you. Rio Hondo is a beautiful destination for golf and a relaxing time. It's time to pass the torch Scott and Steve. Start to grow the game of golf. The greens and fairways and range is great and they do amazing things there. I hope all Yelp Reviewers see this. I Hope Rio Hondo sees these reviews because mainly the only reason you get bad stars is because of Scott Wally. Maybe its time you should listen to your customers and remove him! I enjoyed this driving range at first -- as it was never crowded and had a great set up. However the past few times I attended it was a disaster. First, young teens threw trash into my zone and second, a group of teens brought a speaker and began blasting rap music far louder than necessary. We informed the golf shop and they showed up but didn't speak to the golfers about the situation just walked away so I approached them and they said there's not much they can do about it (not even approach these teens?). I asked if they just let this happen then and they told me it's their clientele base.... If you're a SERIOUS golfer don't even bother with this place. They don't even understand the #1 rule of golf let alone care to enforce it. It's as ghetto as it looks and there's far better ranges close enough to avoid this one. I would rather quit golf than appear at this embarrassment of a range ever again. They should be ashamed of the way they handle business. I've reached out to a lot of my friends who attended over the years as well and we all agreed it's the last public course we'll be showing up at. Words getting around to boycott this range and I wanted to broaden the news to other golfers who actually respect the sport. Well Kept The third hole is really nice one of my favorites. The fairways are in good shape and the greens are well maintained. If you really wanna get your money with rent a cart its cheaper than most places. The staff in particular are pretty cool people and quick to give advice on your game, i liked that! read more

Great course, worth it. Just one little is that pace of play, too slow. Come out and play, you will enjoy it. read more
