I live in Massapequa, so I only went to Gemelli's once for a hero. last night I experienced Gemelli's catering for my wife's retirement party. Now hear me out. My gluten-free. And requested a gluten-free meal well ahead of time. When we first got to our table, we were greeted by good looking who I thought was just the manager. My wife advised him that she is the gluten-free girl and he immediately said no problem. I have you we have your meal in the back. He walked around nonstop working the room. He was in and out of the kitchen in and bringing the table and every time he passed me, he smiled and said talking to this gentleman just to thank him for how hard I see him working. As the night went on, I started to realize maybe he's not just the manager. He's something larger as I saw him in charge of more than just the staff. He ran the entire place like a well oiled machine always professional kind and very friendly. My wife's meal came out hot and delicious. My entire family was there and we enjoyed all of the food we went up for seconds and even thirds. He waited on us and was constantly asking the rest of the people there if there was anything they needed. I asked for his card so I can write a review and contact his manager to tell him how wonderful he was. I also asked him where I a review about the food. He walked away and came back a few minutes later with his business card. His name was Vincent gave me his phone number and then underneath his number it states . I was quite established unknown restaurant was working so hard. He enjoyed what he was doing. He enjoyed talking to not only the staff, but everyone in the room. no wonder why this restaurant and caterer has done so well over the years. People like him that make a very difficult industry last. Thank you, Vincent for being the best of the best for being professional, friendly and most of all served us a phenomenal meal. Thank you, Robert and Susan Corrado

Dined early on a Friday night with no wait. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. Basil martini was the best cocktail I've ever tasted. Veal Marsala and Seafood linguine were delicious. Tiramisu was delicious, as well.

Veal Saltimboca dinner with micro-chopped prosciutto bits. $32 for about 2oz of veal.

Sad to see businesses shootings themselves in the foot. Not a single review in 4 months. Well, we had a party of four tonight. We arrived at 6:30pm on this a Wednesday night. The place was empty and i wondered why. Not a single table was filled. I came to learn that it might be because people get "nickled and dimed" here for everything. Want a martini? OK, $12. want it dirty?...add an extra $3 for a splash of olive juice. Want blue cheese olives? OK, $3 for three olives. Now you're at $18. Ridiculous. Then came the tiny baked clams. Six for $14. Two veal cutlet dinners were $32 each. Barely any food on the plates. Then we found extra-charges on check for using a credit card. The four is us left hungry and agreed that we won't be back. The ghost town will be getting emptier as time passes. Life doesn't have to be so absurd! We just arrived home and cooked a real dinner.

This review is for desert, service and staff. Last month we were traveling with our best peeps thru Babylon Village going to another restaurant when we passed this beautiful building. The landscape was nice and the decorative lights got my attention. We all agreed that when we were done with dinner elsewhere we would visit Ristorante Gemelli . So keeping with the plan we entered this gorgeous restaurant and was greeted by the most pleasant classiest maitre d / hostess we've ever met. We told her we were only there for dessert but she treated us like we were spending a thousand bucks. She escorted us to the patio at our request and explained the desserts and gave us some tips. She was beyond helpful, a class act. ( terrible that I forgot her name)Even offered to take pictures of us. Thank you very much for your sincere hospitality. A true asset to this establishment! The patio was cozy, romantic and decorated nicely with flowers and quality furniture. Our desserts, coffee and tea arrived shortly and it was delightful. We really enjoyed this quiet time chatting and relaxing. When we were done Veronica and I took a short tour of the restaurant. Absolutely beautiful, elegant but not stuffy, spacious and clean. We definitely want to return for dinner, I'm sure it will be spectacular!

Selected Gemelli's for my birthday dinner over this past summer, and . . . well . . . One thing I was looking to try, which heavily influenced my choice to go here, was the octopus appetizer. To my great disappointment they didn't have it the day I was there . . . Tale of the tape: Table Bread with Olives & Garlic Cloves I usually don't comment on the bread a restaurant brings to the table, but I thought it merited a mention given its presentation. The bread itself was crusty and good enough, but the Olives & Garlic were served in one of those 1/2 lb containers that you get at any given deli! I couldn't believe it - such a high class place as Gemelli's (with prices commensurate of same) - serving the bread accompaniment in a plastic container seemed incongruous (see my picture). Pizza Margherita Hand-tossed grill-fired pizza, topped with fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, basil. This was quite good, and obviously freshly made. Arancini Arborio rice balls, over fresh tomato sauce with fresh melted mozzarella and crispy prosciutto. These were alright, though the presentation superseded their enjoyment. Caesar Romaine spears, Parmesan panko crouton crumble, sun-dried tomato vinaigrette, housemade Caesar dressing, Parmigiana Reggiano. Enjoyable, and thankfully not drowning in dressing. Veal Saltimboca Top round veal scaloppini served in a prosciutto, sage, white wine demi, served over wilted baby spinach and potato croquette. For what veal is supposed to be, it had an uncharacteristically tough texture. On the tender - tough scale, I'd put the needle of that scale way over on the tough side. It'd been a long time since I had veal, and frankly I was disappointed. The potato croquette and the spinach were fine, just nothing special. Reserve Center Cut Pork Chop Spice-rubbed grilled pork chop with Spinach and Asparagus Spears. My brother got this, and he ate the whole piece. I sampled it, and it was very tender, and had a great flavor all its own. Whew. Another aspect of eating at Gemelli's was the amount of time it took between the courses. As I see from my photo timestamps, it was 20 minutes between the appetizers and the salads, and 35 minutes between the salads and the main course. The latter time could be due to the thickness of the pork chop, so your mileage may vary. Conclusion I was looking forward to Gemelli's, but the absence of the octopus from the appetizer menu that night was the first in a series of disappointments. I don't know if I will eat there again, but I will definitely continue to patronize their Italian deli, located a block West on the same (North) side of East Main Street. (For two, their pesto ravioli and vodka sauce are decently good).

Not a bad Italian restaurant, but there were small issues that did not give us the experience we were hoping for. Heading in, we told the server that we have about 1.5 hour before our show, making sure he is aware. He said, "No problem. Plenty of time." Sadly, throughout the night, we felt ignored a bit even when we were just simply trying to speed up ordering or pay our bill. I know he was busy with a full house, but we weren't asking for too much. Somehow, it took us nearly the full 1.5 hour to finish the meal, hence rushing to the theater barely on time. Another big issue was food that didn't come out hot. At the suggestion of our server, we ordered a combination platter of appetizers. It was huge with six different items and most of it tasted alright. Unfortunately, several items were not hot. Even worse, the shrimps and mussels were cold, which we brought to our servers attention and asked to take that portion of the platter off the bill. He offered replacements, but we had plenty of food and no time to wait for another round of appetizers, so we declined. After another 20 minutes, he brought us new plates of both items, this time hot. We looked at each other and just went with the flow. With that delay, our time was becoming a little more limited. We received our entrees about 45 mins before our show, which is still okay since the theater was a block away. I enjoyed the well made Veal Marsala, which was huge. Keep in mind that food is served in family style portions. The Penne Siciliana was also huge, but nothing special. We also asked for a Caesar Salad, which was decent. With 25 minutes to go, we said okay to checking out the dessert menu. Unfortunately, 10 minutes passed by before our server brought it over. We simply couldn't afford to chance another delay and just asked for the check. Paying for the bill took almost another 10 minutes, which made us rush to our show. Btw, the shrimp and mussels were not removed as we had asked for. We weren't going to fight it. Like I said, well priced Italian restaurant that serves decent food. Just wish the experience would have been a bit smoother.

Service was perfect - our waiter was friendly, professional and efficient- there when we needed him, checked in at the right times and left us to enjoy our meals the rest of the time. We started with baked oysters Rockafeller (their spelling.) Delicous, but with a really overpowering taste of Gorgonzola or bleu cheese, so the oyster was lost in it. Without the oyster it would make a nice dip to spread on some of their wonderful bread. Salads were large, pretty basic lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 olives, some carrot and cucumber. The house vinaigrette is heavy on the vinegar and could use a little balance. Swordfish Livornese was a special, a huge piece of fish over pasta with mussels on top. My husband can usually finish a large platter but even he had to take half home. My chicken Marsala was absolutely delicious, but lacked that Marsala flavor. Mushrooms were fresh and abundant. Again it was an enormous portion and I took home 2/3 of my meal. In spite of claiming to be full, my husband managed to enjoy a slice of Key lime pie, his favorite dessert. I passed and turned my chair around to watch the Yankee game since it was easier than trying to talk. If we return I think we'll choose a weeknight when I hope it's a bit quieter, and will request a table further from the bar. Everything was good enough that I'd like to try some other menu options that piqued my interest.

I asked one of the workers if the lot was full and where they were going to park the incoming cars. He told me that they had an "additional parking lot" behind the location. I decided to drive out myself and go find street parking. I ended up finding a parking spot on a street called Madeleine Place, which was about a block and a half away from the restaurant. This was when I noticed that the valet workers were actually parking the vehicles on the same exact block. I didn't appreciate that I was lied to in regard to having an additional parking lot behind the location because I think it's important for the patrons to know where exactly their car will be while they are having dinner. After entering the restaurant, we were told to have a drink at the bar because our table wasn't ready yet, which was fine because we were several minutes early. The hostess told us that a table was paying and we would be seated shortly. While we were at the bar waiting, we must have seen three or four tables of two that had left the location. We thought we would be seated at one of those tables, however, we were actually taken to a dining area upstairs. Just to preface, the person I was dining with has dined at this restaurant numerous times with another friend who is extremely generous when it comes to paying and leaving a tip. However, on this particular night, that friend was not with us, and I feel strongly that is the reason why they did not seat us at one of those empty tables on the first floor. They brought us upstairs to a more secluded dining area. The service upstairs was significantly worse compared to the service that my friend had received numerous times on the first floor. You could also see the difference in patrons between the first floor and second floor. The food.. Presentation is great! But the taste -- sub-par! We ordered the baked artichoke from the appetizer menu, which was loaded with some type of dressing and so much cheese that you could barely taste the artichoke. We also ordered a Caesar salad, which was so mediocre. We ordered a side of asparagus was very bland. We then ordered the filet mignon, which was decent, but I feel like it's overpriced for the taste. In regard to our drink order, we were only asked once if we wanted a drink, and we felt extremely rushed throughout. I'm only giving this three stars because I can't give it 2 1/2. I personally did not have a good experience at this restaurant and I definitely won't be returning nor will I recommend it. They started off on a bad foot by lying about the parking situation.

The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out.
