Very disappointed tonight. This is one of our favorite restaurants and we have been coming for years. Decor and ambience is beautiful and the food is delicious. However tonight the service was beyond bad. And no amends were made. No "I am so sorry your food is taking so long or your drink has arrived way after your dinner so it's on us." Horrendous. Tough veal that you could actually "hear" when trying to put a fork through it. I let them know about it and they said thank you. I suggested they stop serving it to spare others. It wAs take out. Interesting, that was it. No real empathy. My Husband ate leftover meatloaf. I had the chicken parm and it was fine. I have had previous good experiences, but this night was not the kitchen's night. Gemelli's is by far my favorite restaurant ever. We eat there as often as we can. For the past 10 years we have eaten there every Christmas Eve. It is always festive and charming. Terrible dining experience in a beautiful setting. I was pleasantly surprised entering the restaurant thinking it was a great stop over while driving from nyc out east. The service was awful.. our waiter was covering too many tables and took more than 20 minutes to get our water right - and 10 more to bring our bottle of wine. The food (similar to the restaurant ) was beautifully presented but our party of 5 all agreed, was not even passable. I had black ink pasta with salmon. The pasta tasted like paste and the salmon was far from fresh. My wife had chicken with pasta. The chicken was okay but my wife, the pasta lover, left hers on the plate. The tartufu was good but this place deserves a "one star" and not a bit more. read more

Went for lunch but unfortunately WORST service I ever experienced! I purposely went during lunch thinking less crowded , faster service.- Walking in I was happy to see it wasnt crowded at all and was hopeful,...however it was downhill from there- Soooo dissapointing -. My 2hour++ dragged out lunch experience might not have left such a bad taste in my mouth had the staff shown ANY remorse about the constant neglectful service. It wasnt just the long time we were waiting, but the constant shortcomings of the waiter was mind blowing. Not entirely his fault , seems as if he was playing Bartender, waiter, server, and possibly even the chef - Poor management -... ..Again , just would have been nice to hear "sorry for the wait" , or "thank you for our patience"...some kind of appreciation ...instead, just found myself shaking my head and saying never again :( Hope others have better luck read more

Menu isn't the longest but every dish is A+ quality. I suggest any of the specials your server lists for the current week (Crusted Salmon, stuffed lamb chop) Their servers are genuine, you can tell they take pride in their service. I can't say enough wonderful things about Gemelli's. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was delightful. The chef, Jose, is a talented delight & the owner George was as welcoming & charming as could be! We even had the opportunity to meet George's lovely wife Stefanie. And all of this took place while the restaurant was technically closed. Long story short-a dear friend & I had our hearts set on trying this place but due to being the day after the 4th of July, they were closed for lunch. Jose generously offered to cook for us despite being closed and we were overjoyed that he did. If you live nearby or are just driving past Babylon stop to give your tastebuds a treat. My wife and I went last night to try it since it was restaurant week. Well very honestly we have better. First compliments to the staff they were attentive and polite and very quick! The food though was not fresh. You can tell it was prepared previously and then just set under a heat lamp or warming tray. For app's we had 1) smoked Mozz w/capers and 2) eggplant. Again smoked Mozz was warm at best and the eggplant was just OK. Main dishes we had 1) Pork medallions over polenta w/Brussel sprouts and 2) cavatelli pasta with sausage and fennel. Both of these dishes had/have the potential to be very good but once again the pork was warm and a rather small portion and the cavatelli was incredibly salty. As for desserts they were so-so. Now maybe if you do not go during restaurant week it could be different, but honestly we will probably not go back there. read more

First time here, food was amazing, especially the hot antipasto (calamari was perfection). The lobster risotto and stuffed veal were perfectly prepared, and had a lovely presentation. The mascarpone dessert w berries was so perfectly creamy but not overwhelming, and the blueberry mojito was the perfect drink. Service was lovely. read more

Delicious. Great food and great service. The burrata was to die for! Great menu and selection, all the salads sounded delicious. My husband got the seafood special and he finished his entire plate. The breads that come with the meal and the olive oil dipping sauce, were very good as well. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back! read more

A lot of the staff has been there for years. Always making the environment friendly and happy. The food was great, best octopus I have had in a while. The pasta was clearly made in house which makes it so much more enjoyable. The food was heavy but how can you not expect that at an italian restaurant?! The atmosphere was sophisticated but comfortable, with a little bit of an older crowd. Just watching the food come out was fun. The desserts were phenomenal, better than most bakeries. I hardly, if ever give ANY 5 star ratings. To do so, the experience must be top of the line. That is what you get when dining at this establishment. The service is second to none-I don't care where you go. The food is out of this world. Prices are a little steep, but one does indeed get what one pays for. We have been coming to Gemelli's from the time it opened, and it has been consistently fantastic. We ate there Christmas eve and had one of the best dinners ever. The wait staff was very efficent and knowledgeable even with the high volume of people dining there. We had a variety of dishes and they were all cooked to perfection. We eat in many top restaurants in Manhattan and Gemellis compares to the best. This is my favorite restaurant in Babylon, hands down. It has such a relaxing atmosphere, nice music and the employees are amazing. Now the food! I've never been disappointed with anything I've eaten at Gemellis and this weekend was the same excellent food. We felt like having some wine and appetizers so sat at the bar and the bartenders were so accomodating even when we moved to a tabletop by the bar. They were very, very attentive even though the bar was crowded and restaurant was very busy. Had amazing wine and great appetizers followed up by the BEST cappuccino around and great dessert. This review is based solely on the management, not the food or the service (which I'd give a 4). Specifically Went there because I received a gift card a couple years ago, drove 45 minutes. Everything was great then when we gave the gift card. The server said they just changed over the computer system and could not find the amount on the card, but will keep trying. 15 minutes goes by and he said the manager can't find it, but they can offer 20% off the bill ($16). After telling him that it was a birthday gift and no one would gift us that small amount, he went to talk to the manager for another 15 minutes. Came back and said the best they could do would be to take $50 off the bill. At that point, waiting 30 minutes after we waited to leave and having the manager never come over to talk to us, we just accepted it and left, even though we knew it was more than $50 on the gift card. What if the card had $100 or $200 on it? We'll never know and I'll never go back. As we left we saw the manager smoking outside - not a care in the world. read more

Delicious food, wonderful service, amazing party! I just had my bridal shower at Gemelli's Ristorante this past weekend and everything was wonderful. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for the duration of the event, so it wasn't too loud and we got five-star service the whole time! There was plenty of delicious food, all of my guests were very happy with everything they ordered and I was stuff by the end of the event. The service was amazing - empty plates and glasses were removed promptly from the tables and drink orders were filled quickly. All of the tables were clean and neat and the bathrooms were clean. I would highly recommend Gemelli's to anyone having a party, or just going out for lunch or dinner. read more

If I can give you NO stars I would. I ordered food for my get together at work I told them I was feeding 8 people. So I ordered pasta, salad, and Chicken Marsala. They gave me 6 slices of thin chicken breasts, 3 croquettes, before I picked it up I asked them if there was enough food for 8 they told me yes. When I got to work and uncovered everything they gave me 6 slices! 6 slices of chicken for 8 people!!!! 3 croquettes!! I called to speak to the manager and he was rude told me to buy more food meanwhile I drove 1 hr to get to this restaurant! He said he did the best but he was very unprofessional and did not help me in any kind of way. When you say how many people you are feeding you should let people know what you are getting. He didn't even make it right! I wanted to speak with the owner of the restaurant because I was a regular at this restaurant and they knew me well. What a shame.. I will never go back to this restaurant for lack of professionalism. You should teach your manager how to manage a restaurant because he was rude and unhelpful! No one ever called me back to even make this better. I let one day pass and still no phone call. It is obvious that they just don't care what customers go thru. I trusted this restaurant to help make our Christmas party nice I always bragged about this restaurant now none of my coworkers will go. So in turn you lose potential customers Gemelli. You don't treat people like this at all. My suggestion get a new manager, because the one you have doesn't care about your business, doesn't care about making your customers happy. Very beautiful restaurant. We had reservations and were seated on time. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary so I only wish the seating arrangement didn't feel so tight. So I wouldn't suggest if you want a more intimate setting to dine. The waiters we really good and we received our entree in a timely manner. Food was great. Good portion and flavor. I ordered and drink and it was amazing, perfect blend of not to strong not to light. Fair prices. I would also like to suggest maybe making a separate menus for specials. The waiters had pretty heavy accents and spoke fast so it was hard to understand and hear. Not to mention we went at a busy time so the noise level was already high. Overall a great experience. This has to be the worst dining experience. When we arrived as soon as we were seated we were with a small child , we asked the waiter for a scoop of vanilla ice cream for my grandson. We waited and waited ask the waiter several times why we were waiting so long (45 mins). Finally I had to get up from the table and find the manager and ask her to please bring ice cream. She was aware that we waited 45 mins and didn't even apologize. Very disappointed!!!! read more

We have been wanting to try Gemelli's so we made a reservation for LI Restaurant Week. The decor was nice, the staff was friendly, and the food was good (not great, but good.) But the service was painfully slow! It took us 2 hours for 2 of us to eat our meal and it was a Wednesday night - we were not looking to finish dinner at almost 10pm. I'm not sure if we'll go back based on this experience. The red velvet gelato was amazing though! read more

Gemellis gets an A++ for service! The waiters and busboys are extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Some favs on the menu are the meatballs and veal milanese. I love the outside patio for dining also. The only thing I would change is the fact that they have seafood in A LOT of their dishes...not everyone wants seafood. read more
