You could find a better snowcone in your own kitchen. Service was confusing at times. Confusing names for specials. If you find yourself in the area stop at Frio's for a more enjoyable snowcone experience. Snowcone was a light 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Absolutely amazing! We ordered the JoJo burger basket and a strawberry and cream daiquiri on our first visit. Both were truly delicious. We didn't need to add any condiments to our burger or ketchup for our fries. We told our friends about how great our our burger was we returned the next day for with our friends. We all ordered the jojo burger baskets, bama daiquiri, strawberry daiquiri, strawberry and cream daiquiri, and a passion fruit smoothie. Everything was amazing! We will definitely be back on our next trip to the beach!! Decor and seating area is so cute!!

My daiquiri was good, and the kids enjoyed their snow cones. 12oz snow cones includes up to 3 flavors. Nice place for something refreshing and sweet!

Rita's was such a nice stop after a long day at the beach!! Daiquiris and pina coladas are a MUST for adults, any flavor and many sizes available. The food we so delicious. The pizza is cooked perfectly and the wings are fantastic! The patio seating is so nice with the sea air flowing through your hair. Enjoy your daiquiri while waiting for your food!!

Friendly service, very clean, variety of ice cream and snow cones. Some nice options for adult beverages, as well. Fun environment. My kiddos liked it a lot.

My family and I were incredibly impressed with this place. It is beautiful on the outside, the flavors are superb and the customer service was the of best quality I've experienced in the longest time. A great variety of flavors is available to cater to every taste, as well as adult sno cones and soft serve ice cream with a toppings bar. There is a seating area with a TV where you can enjoy your treat of choice. Or you can opt to sit on the stools facing the window for a nice view of the outdoors. The owner is a friendly, personable and knowledgeable lady. She knows her stuff. For one of our snow cones we were torn between flavors and she suggested half tigers blood and half blue coconut. Those two flavors are like a match made in heaven. It was thoughtful and sweet for her to make the kids so cones first. I will definitely be coming here again and highly recommend it!

Folks are very nice explaining the menu or adjusting orders to accommodate special diets, likes, etc. Menu is very large with all sizes. My wife did a Twisted and I did a milkshake (vanilla with caramel). Reasonable priced items (my wife's extra shot in her drink was $2.50 as an example). Only downside with that really attentive service and care in making is the wait. You can see they are trying to get them out fast as they can but it was a ten to twenty minute wait in line (a family of six ahead of us) and then another 10 minutes before orders were ready. But that time might be best spent off the phones and enjoying your family's company right? Also, seems like there is some kind of vent in the ground outside the ordering window which made for some interesting smells. Worth a stop.

I got a t-shirt too that I wore for years until it was ultimately retired. I actually wrote a Yelp review about it that I deleted. In it, I said "The smell of the waffle cones filled the place with smiles and enjoyment. I knew I wanted a waffle cone." What a terrible critic. He will never be Yelp Elite. I haven't been back to Hey Mikey's since then, just because I haven't really been back to Galveston in some time, but my memories of the unique ice cream flavors and toppings remained. Heading back to Galveston for a cruise, I wanted to try and make a stop there again for nostalgia's sake. Instead of heading to the Airbnb, my girlfriend and I drove straight to Hey Mikey's as our first stop in Galveston. We got there around 8:45 pm, which was 15 minutes before they closed (our fault). This is no diss to Hey Mikey's, but almost everything else on The Strand on a Thursday night closes way too early, so it felt like everyone was at Hey Mikey's. The line was extensive in front of us and behind us even after it closed. After waiting through the line for quite some time, I got a waffle cone with their cereal milk ice cream, which had Fruity Pebbles in it, topped with Lucky Charms. They gave it to me with a temperature-changing plastic spoon that turned from yellow to purple when cold. The ice cream was sensational. What an incredible flavor. The only downside was the waffle cone being a little stale, but I fault that to it being a waffle cone ordered right at closing time. The next night, I returned with my cousins and ordered a cup of cereal milk ice cream with Cocoa Puffs as the topping instead. Fantastic stuff. Once again, being there too close to closing meant we had to wait, and we didn't get our ice cream until 9:30, a full 30 minutes after they closed. It was nice that they still served us though! One thing I did notice, which I don't know if it's a normal thing, is that since Hey Mikey's is the only ice cream shop open past 8 o'clock on most weeknights, they seem to get a lot of foot traffic after that time. Their menu is pretty large in its offerings. If it were just scoops of ice cream, the line would move fast, but so many people were ordering shakes, which are a lot more labor-intensive and removed a staff member from their assembly line to focus on the shake. I don't have any advice on how they could easily move the line in the later hours of the night, but man, those kids are working their butts off for everyone to get their late-night sweet treat. Hey Mikey's, you are just as good as I remember.
