I walked-in for a pedicure because a friend recommended it to me. I asked for a basic pedicure (regular polish, not gel) but I didn't mean for the attitude of the nail tech to be basic. The service itself was okay. I've been to places in the area where the technique is better. The one thing that irked me was when I asked the technician to show me options of red, she asked me to get it myself. At this point, my feet have been washed and bare! She didn't even offer me disposable slippers. I asked another technician if she could get options of reds for me but they were all bright reds when I asked for a mid-tone red. She also asked me to get it myself. That's when my technician offered me disposable slippers. What kind of attitude is this? Especially when there are tons of competitions around. Pricing is fair at $27 for basic pedicure and $5 additional charge for calluses removal. They didn't have the color I was looking for (mid-tone red). Because of the poor attitude of the technician, I will not be coming back. Go to Divine Nails on Main St. in Irvine! They are a pleasant bunch and puts out beautiful work. While it is a beautiful location, I was severely underwhelmed by the service I received. I showed the reference photo of what I wanted and they picked the base color, after they finished they said "you should have picked a pink base color" but they were the ones who picked it in the first place. It was expensive for what I got- and I wasn't happy with the way the dip didn't even cover my whole nail. I am really frustrated that they didn't listen when I told them my nail was cracked and I wanted a trim and they said it would be fine but I still see the crack and it feels brittle. A classy looking place does not a decent manicure make. read more

I will never go here again. I used to go back when it was in the corner and the service was great. Ever since it moved the service has changed the last couple times I have felt so rushed. I paid $24 for a manicure to get my nails buffed because I just had acrylics and they did absolutely nothing. I didn't even ask for a color. They plucked my cuticles that was about it. Then I get home and notice two of my nails from my pedicure already chipped. Going to the nail salon is not cheap anymore and so when you spend all this money you want it to last more than 2 hours. I'm reluctant to come here for nail services again. As other reviews have mentioned, they do try to upsell you and talk you into services you don't want. I needed my gel x nails removed, and the male receptionist said they could do a fill. When I expressed that I wanted them to come off, he kept trying to suggest a fill. Even the nail tech tried pushing me into keeping them on. I think it's because they didn't want to spend the time to remove them, which was the main reason I was there. My nail tech wasn't overly friendly but at least she wasn't rude. My biggest complaint is that she rushed her work. She didn't get all of the old gel off of my nails, causing the tips to be thicker than I would like. She also didn't do a good job of applying my top coat. Some of my nail tips were also rough and I needed to file them myself. I will say the atmosphere is bright and refreshing and the location is nice. Overall, I think I'll stick to a different nail salon for extensions and will just do my own gel polish at home. read more

i booked an apt for a regular manicure + a french tip, and then when i showed up to my appointment, the nail tech kept insisting me to get gel. she said that the regular manicure would not look good and kept persisting on me paying extra for gel. then, in the middle of my service, she asked me to pay without me fully even getting my nails done, which is so rude and unprofessional. i didn't leave a tip for her, and she continued to talk about the situation under her breath to her other co workers. then, when u was getting my eyebrows done, i was quoted a specific price which was then increased when i went up to the counter. overall, their attitude is really bad, and they made me feel uncomfortable when they asked me to pay in the middle of my service. did they think i couldn't afford it? i really do not recommend this place. ignore the 5 star reviews period. terrible service, peer pressure, and attitude. read more

I commend this place for adapting their business to our state's current situation. The outdoor setup was clean, organized and comfortable all while following social distancing guidelines. I scheduled an appt for a pedicure on Saturday and arrived promptly at my appt time. Still, I waited ~10 minutes to be seated and another ~10 minutes for someone to become available to do my nails. Quality of my Mother's pedicure even for getting regular was POOR. I wanted a nice day with my Mother as i leave cross country in a few days, front desk was rude and my nail tech I felt like demanded a tip after paying. When i asked for an itemized receipt because I felt overcharged (even if i wasnt i wanted to see what i was charged for. ) i was told to "just take a picture" of the "reciept" which was on a blank piece of server paper with the total just written and circled. After my Mother went back in to get a broshure of services provided i found i was in fact charged 2 dollars more for my gel acrylic set. I got nothing special. Regardless what is wrong with asking for clarification or questions??? I felt bombarded from my nail tech upon paying, it was as if they thought i was going to walk out without paying. Great service. I was so lost and thought they would cancel me but they were kind and helped me with directions. Note - they are in the same plaza as Petsmart. It doesn't look like there is anything but if you turn the corner the salon is there. They are quite busy which is a good sign for salons. They let me come in last minute and I was afraid they would rush my mani pedi because it was getting late but they went above and beyond. Also fantastic is Helen who did my pedicure. I have never felt so disregarded as a customer. I was first greeted and seated. I was never provided a color chart or swab chart. I have requested for a pink ombré. I specified that I wanted an almond shape. As the nail tech, Megan, was filing, she asked me for my opinion. I mentioned that I would like it slightly more pointy at the end (less rounded) and slightly thinner. She aggressively told me that that is not an "almond" shape but rather a "pointy" shape. In all of my 10 years of getting my nails done, I have never heard of this actual "pointy" nail shape name. I understand that almond can vary to different people, but I felt that I was being yelled at. Immediately after this, I hear the nail tech (Megan) speaking vietnamese with other employees and I hear the words almond and pointy in a certain tone, which hints to me that she was gossiping. I have not picked a color, except verbally expressing a pink. For the ombré, she brings out ombré dip powder. While I've never had dip powder done for a color ombré in my life, I went with it. She did have a hot hot pink color. I asked if that was the color she was using and I expressed hesitancy. She then started with a lighter pink, then put the hot pink on top. I mentioned that it was too dark and bright for my liking and she went on to tell me that I would like it and that it's pretty. This is very subjective. The only pinks I typically ever get done is nude/baby pinks or muted pinks. Megan is very aggressive and acts very arrogant as a nail tech, assuming she knows what is best. She disregards what I would want and makes me feel bad, almost implying I know nothing. The ombré, the shape, and the length of my nails are not even. More than the quality of the nails, I have never felt a more rude and aggressive nail tech. The ombré color on my pinky is significantly shorter, almost like a tip color rather than ombré. read more

I visited Ritz nail one time, about 5 weeks ago for a basic gel pedicure. 1 day after my pedicure the polish fell off on one of my toes - no biggie. But now... about a week ago my right big toe nail was completely cracked in the middle and lifting off. I had bruised the toenail a couple months prior so I assume that was it.. but normally when that happens the whole nail comes off in one piece. Today my LEFT big toe nail did the same thing! extremely brittle, lifting at the start of the polish, coming off and the skin underneath was so soft it almost looks like I had spent hours in the pool. I've never had this happen before, I've had hundreds of gel pedicures and my nails are typically very strong, I'm not sure if I got some type of fungal infection or an improper pedicure or what happened but I do know it can't be a coincidence, since only the nail under the gel polish is damaged and weak, not the regrowth. I will very much not be returning and by no means is this meant in a negative way but I am extremely unhappy with this result, and will now have to go to a doctor to check for fungus, invest in supplement and strengtheners, AND go somewhere else to take off the remaining polish before it takes off the rest of my nails. read more

I came in for a pedicure and they did a great job! It is pricey, $50 for a pedicure with a foot mask and 20 min foot massage. Worth it for me because I was able to walk in with no appointment and seated immediately. First time going here and I'm very disappointed to say the least... She cut two of my fingers and tried covering the blood with nail glue. Then I told her they were crooked and she said she would fix it later and never did. My thumb nails are not the same length. On top of all that they are very messy and lumpy. After 2 weeks this is what you can expect after your "Ritz" service with them. 1 WEEK LATER: I tried to give this spot another chance but it is a constant disappointment. They are constantly making me bleed when they are using their nail polisher/drill. They need a new set of girl there or a new salon makeover because every single girl who has done my nails has never done a great job. Your nails WILL chip, the paint WILL chip and you will have to come back after a week. I came in to ask to help them file the nails shorter since they are chipped and they didn't try to have someone help after their mistake. Meh Tried this place because it was near by but I was really disappointed that they didn't use the sterile plastic liners that they are supposed to use in the pedicure sink. How am I supposed to know that it's clean and I didn't see them drop any blue pill in there either. I got a manicure and a pedicure the girl who did my manicure wasn't that friendly and didn't know how to explain the difference between powder and gel. I am also not happy because when I look at my fingers she messed up the polish twice that I didn't notice until after I left. The girl who did my pedicure did a great job. But because I don't think they take precautions in the way the sinks don't have the lining I will not be back Looking at my manicure this morning and I'm annoyed she really messed the polish up. i had my nails done here a little less than a week ago. i got a full gel x set. 1. they didn't have the a variety of lengths like other salons do. i wanted a medium stiletto, but instead was given long nails and had them become shortened which led to uneven shapes and lengths. the whole point of a gel x set is to have perfectly consistent nails on application. 2. the type of nail extension is so obviously cheap. the nail bends on my nails and folds over which has never happened on any other of my gel x sets at any other salon. this is the thinnest, and most plastic feeling gel x set I ever got. overall disappointing.... I got a pedicure as well, the worst pedicure ever. My toes weren't fully painted and it was just not good. read more

I had a lovely lady do my nails and equally lovely lady do my toes. The foot massage was the best I ever had!!! Things are going great till I got polish on my toes! I asked two times to get the red removed off my skin and it just kept getting worse so I stopped asking! If you zoom into my photo it's the worst paint job I ever got!
