We came here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. The hostess seated us right away upstairs. The upstairs area seemed pretty bare with tables scattered randomly. And our waitress took our order right away. The food portions were huge, the food was really tasty and the beer was excellent. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because all the food came right away, (appetizer and main meal) waiters would come and ask us if this food was ours (and it wasn't) and as nice as the staff was, they seemed very disorganized. This place I hear is rather new, but it has potential to become amazing if the food stays the same and the wait staff figures out what is going on.... First time eating here and wow the food was delicious and very much flavorful. I like supporting food flares in German dishes, when looking this place popped up and not too far to drive to. So the adventure begins. Now they don't have many German dishes but the have a wide variety of other dishes with Irish flare and American with German. Over all every dish I could see was made with passion to make a guest go by looks oh wow I can't wait to eat that! I wouldn't pick this place as a first date option its loud, but after a first date heck yes. Besides the food being yummy the staff did the best in such a long time checking in on how our meal is. Recommendations were great as well as the staff had tried most of all the food, which is an old school practice in my opinion It takes alot to upset me on items, but low and behold I kept buying and it was worth it. Almost went home with dessert but I had to leave an opportunity to return to try other items on their menu. To the owners keep the training of sit down 5 minutes or less to greet the guests. Drink order we have a special drink for today, taken, appetizer to start with, ask if any questions on the menu. Recommendations were given as well and food was on its way. Missed the mark on all accounts. Staff: Unhelpful and unfriendly. I was even charged $2 for 'Rocks' aka ICE and was told they COULDN'T/WOULDN'T do anything about it when I inquired on the bill. (Mind you... this wasn't fancy ice or anything, not a whiskey rock, just some cubes tossed into my Makers Mark order) Atmosphere: bland, confused, uninspired. It's hard to tell what they are aiming to be here. German flags, Irish flags, beer list, TVs everywhere playing sports. Just an eclectic mix with no focus. Food: Poor. My 'schnitzelwich' arrived cold, with a large fatty vein left unrendered, running right through the sandwich. Fries were also cold. My wife's jambalaya had overcooked fish and uncooked rice. I wanna start off by saying the staff here is all very friendly and super attentive with customers. That's really where this place shines. While the layout is stunning the restaurant lacks a bit of character and identity. It's kind of bland to be honest. If you're looking for character I'd head to Timothy O'Tooles instead. This is basically a sports bar with a few Rivalry branded beers on tap, brewed or branded off site. The rest are bottled and standard national brands. Some beer and food items on menu were not available. I opted for water today. Appetizer-- We shared the hot soft giant pretzel, an ale house favorite. Since I'm not a fan of the sweet sauces and cheese with my pretzel, I asked for some coarse German mustard. None available even though many menu items include "German" the nomenclature. Entrees-- Salmon sandwich with bacon was moist and flavorful, served on a hoagie roll. Fries were meh. Didn't order them. Opted for the Cole slaw instead, for which I had to request a correction. Very basic, chopped red cabbage with little to zero seasoning or flavor. Shepherds pie with braised brisket or tenderloin was flavorful. The vegetables in the pie approximated al dente, but mastication suggested chewy-rubbery, as if prepared and preserved by truck delivery, not a fresh-to-al dente preparation. Might stop here for a beer or a pretzel with friends, but not a dinner spot. Two single-cocktail drinkers in the party, one appetizer, for lunch entrees with tax and tip approached $115. read more

came here for the first time yesterday with my family and Sara gave us the most amazing service I've ever had she had mentioned she's from California and just moved here and we got to talking because I'm also from California! She has an amazing, welcoming energy, and I noticed that she got her butt kicked, but still managed to take care of all of her tables and still make us feel like we were important. We had my Sons and his future wife's bridal shower there. The Coordinator Christine was amazing. The servers were also amazing. We had the breakfast buffet and the food was just delicious! Room upstairs was so pretty with all the wood and then the outside seating area. The bar was a nice added perk since anyone can go up and get whatever they want. Went for Sunday brunch on Mother's Day. Every single employee greeted us and said happy Mother's Day to my wife. Our server was also really kind and attentive. I was a little worried my kids wouldn't like the kids brunch menu but they loved it. The pretzel was so good, I had to have some. They ate a ton of my beignets as well. I ordered the short rib biscuits and gravy. My god, fantastic. I didn't think you could make biscuits and gravy better but they did. The design of this place is really nice. Very clean. Went for dinner with a friend for something different, food was excellent, our waiter was very nice, he was training another girl I sure hope she doesn't stay wasn't friendly at all. We revisited this establishment last night after a small hiatus. I came back with a 5 star rating. The Irish Egg rolls are the best. Very crunchy, and filled with meat. We met friends for lunch on Saturday. First of all the heat was not on. It's winter! We sat close to the kitchen and could see in cooks in the window. One was wiping his nose and the guy on the grill was on his cell phone. No wonder it took so long to get our food. There were a lot of servers standing around doing nothing with customers at tables. However, we saw some 5 stars so we decided to try it this past weekend. Have to say, it was a mistake. IMO: after reading the reviews and experiencing it 1st hand, I do think most of the 4-5-star reviews are probably family and/or friends. I do have to agree with a lot of the reviews on these topics. The food was mediocre at best. The cheese curd app was good, but you can't really screw up cheese curds. The bar staff was nice. Wait staff was not. Place was only half full and the food took forever to come out. The place is extremely loud. The person that was sitting right next to me, I had a hard time hearing. Some of the utensils were dirty. My wife and I went to Rivalry for the first time Friday night. This is a great addition to a sparse restaurant scene in Antioch. We loved everything about this place. We ordered two styles of Rivalry's own brew. I am a home brewer, so I can be a bit picky, but we thought both were excellent. Next was their take on nachos topped with short rib, beer cheese and hoisin bbq sauce. The chips are scratch made, and it shows. They are thicker than store chips so they hold up longer. This app was also huge. Absolutely an A+ on this one. My wife had a reuben and I had a burger with bacon onion jam. The burger patty was clearly hand made. I think that is the way to go. The patty is not as dense even though the same weight. Just way better in my book. My wife also loved her reuben. The service was also excellent. The waitresses worked as a team, so one was always checking in if the other was busy. In a time when service staff is stretched thin, these two young ladies nailed it.
