We came here for brunch on a Saturday and arrived just around opening. It's a beautiful restaurant and had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The menu had a lot of dishes I would have loved to try, so I am looking forward to coming back. My sister and I both wanted to try the lemon ricotta pancakes and the lobster Benedict, so we ordered them both and shared. We also added bacon, and Gouda grits as sides. It was more than enough food for us both! There were 3 large fluffy lemon ricotta pancakes, and they were incredible. The bacon is very thick cut and somehow still perfectly crispy. The Gouda grits were great and cooked to a nice, thick consistency. I did feel a bit underwhelmed by the lobster Benedict. It wasn't bad, but to me it seemed lacking in flavor. The tomato actually stood out most in flavor to me. It was a bit ironic that my friend ordered it as well but got no tomato or avocado and she enjoyed her Benedict. I think I may have enjoyed it more with a different pairing flavor or without the tomato. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and our server Emily was super sweet. The best view in Jacksonville is undoubtedly River & Post! I loved it so much that I went twice during one of my visits. This is the kind of vibe you get at larger cities and I'm here for it! The food is delicious, the drinks are strong, and the service is friendly, also. The price is comparable to what you would pay at a larger metropolitan city, but it's not too bad. I wish there were more options for someone with a dairy allergy. They had a DJ one of the days we went there. It would have been nice to get a table overlooking the water on our first visit but seating was super limited so we found seats at the bar. Had a reservation for 12 on Monday night. The service started slow and felt choppy. The restaurant was less than half full. It did seem to get better. The food was good and I thought the wine selection offered some good values. I had one of the specials which was a flounder on pasta with spinach and peas. It was good but I think there may have been a couple peas and pieces of spinach. There was a lot of pasta because pasta is a cheap ingredient to load the plate with. I'm visiting for work from Los Angeles and this will be my third time here mainly because the vibe and food have been superb but this last visit I got the most uncomfortable encounter with a "chamber" not sure if it's cause I'm black or not but she was extremely rude after I held the door open for her she looked at me up and down and walked right past me. We started with a couple of cocktails - I had the Candy Heart (tasty) and hubby tried the Sazerac (good). We shared calamari as appey (meh). For entrees, I tried their sea scallops dish and hubby tried the Bouillabaisse. While both dishes sounded good, they were disappointing to us. The Bouillabaisse was surprisingly bland for a bowl piled with seafood. My scallops dish was ok. Scallops only seared on one side only but still tasted ok. What I didn't really care for was the taste of the sweet pea risotto, which is probably more of a preference thing. So overall we had a decent time for a date night kind of dinner experience, but ultimately did not find their food exciting. It might be a great hang out place to have a couple of beer or cocktail with some shareable because the restaurant itself does have a great atmosphere. read more

It's been a while since we last visited and we made sure to reserve a table ahead since we were told previously it is needed for weekend brunch. The inside dining area is beautiful and our table right next to a window had a nice view. Tablet menus were great and we were able to order quickly. Both our entrees were ready pretty quickly, which was not surprising since the restaurant seemed pretty empty for 1:30pm on a Saturday. It was horrible. We sat at a high top table and ordered drinks. Got told me could not receive them so we just ordered food. My food came out cold and mushy. And no one came to check to see how our meals were. I had to get up and ask for to go boxes and the check. The host had to ask the bartender to run the card, my server was never to be seen after taking our orders. This was poor and absolutely shit service and I will never eat at this restaurant again. I went to River and Post for a quick bite to eat with some friends. We all ordered different foods but I selected the calamari appetizer and it was pretty disappointing. It was extremely tough and under seasoned. Some friends did order cocktails and I specifically remember one raving about her lemon drop. I also had a bite of the fish dip that was being shared around the table and that was also really good! My only other complaint would be that another staff member had tossed a saucer down on the table, after I asked for an extra sauce, and just walked away without any warning or words. It was rude and unnecessary but I always extend grace because maybe he was just having a rough day. It just caught me all the way off guard; but the person who truly made the experience was the server and she definitely deserves her praises! It'a going to be a staple for me. I was a bit disappointed that I was offered extra hush puppies in place of the cole slaw but was given extra fries in place of it instead. The steak and eggs were also good, though I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was a bit on the rare side. Some pieces were less cooked than medium rare. I also asked for no sour cream, but they gave it to me anyways, unfortunately. We came in on a Wednesday around 2pm. Not super busy - but the locals like it for sure. We sat at the bar (more our style anyway) and Brandon took great care of us. I had the manifestation cocktail (freaking amazing) and my boyfriend had the summit (also great but I did prefer mine) - the food was beyond wonderful. Some of the best food I've probably ever had to be honest. I got the lobster roll and smoked Gouda grits, my boyfriend got the French dip and vegetables. Came here with a friend for lunch and we both got the lobster roll. It was very good just small. My friend was still hungry after eating his serving that he had to get food after we left. The raw oysters were good too, however I was wanting a mignonette sauce with them. I wasn't sure if they served it, but the person dropped them off quickly and practically ran away from the table so I couldn't ask him. I then tried multiple times to get my waiter's attention, but he never came. During our entire time seated. He came to us only 4 times, (1: water/drinks. 2: food order. 3: "checkin" but our food was already eaten. You're supposed to do this when guests receive their food so you can see if they need anything - which we did. 4: to drop off the checks). There was really no excuse for this as the restaurant wasn't busy AT ALL. He also had two tables in front of us and frequented them consistently. I was watching him because I had a request, and one time he was about to walk past our table so I tried to get his attention, we locked eyes and I said excuse me, but he immediately turned back around and walked the other way to avoid having to come to us. I had to end up just eating my oysters without the mignonette or even finding out if they had any. The view from the rooftop was beautiful, seeing downtown Jacksonville at night was absolutely stunning, the appetizers were on point the drinks that they serve recommended were really good and she was really friendly. Visiting family and decided to brunch here on a Sunday. We had no reservation but was sat immediately. Our waiter came shortly after, To get our drink orders. This place has a nice waterfront view. There's a rooftop bar which is really nice. So as for my drink, I decided to stick to water this day. I ended up ordering the bread pudding French toast and a side of the smoked Gouda grits. When the French toast came out it was cold. I asked my waiter if he could heat it up a little. And he ended up bringing another which came out warm. He was a very attentive waiter I don't fault him for the food because he did not make it. So as far as the bread pudding French toast. It was good just a little on the sweet side. What would have made it perfect would be the temperature being correct. When I got to the middle of my dish I realized my side of grits never came. So I alerted my waiter and he had some sent out. They were pretty good but also came out lukewarm. Which at this point is alarming because my cousin biscuit and gravy came out completely cold. My mom ordered the chicken and waffles which I did try as well and we ended up not liking it. The waffle was overcooked but the chicken was seasoned perfectly the only concern with it was the texture. The only reason I would probably come here in the future, is for the rooftop area and maybe some drinks. read more
