There is a really nice vibe here. It's a tiki bar on the river. Lots of outdoor seating between belly up at the bar and proper tables for groups. There is some inside seating at a bar area but I can't recall if there are tables inside too. They have a large parking lot but it's valet only (I think it's free) but there is street parking in the area as well. Lots of options for drinks there. Between party buckets and frozen drinks, lots of beer options and a full liquor bar. For food, I had the Cajun mahi mahi tacos. They were okay. To be honest I didn't taste a lot of flavor...at all. No Cajun flavor. I didn't even feel like the cheese or red onion had flavor it was kind of weird? Even the flavored dip it came with was kind of bland. Nice location right on the water. You could easily spend a long time there rotating between different sides (sandy beach bar on one side; dock-side dining on the other) enjoying the views and the birds. We enjoyed some peel-eat shrimp and ahi-tuna taco and clam chowder-- along with some delicious "umbrella drinks" (what I call things you get at the beach with lots of ingredients and often frozen). This is the kind of place that hosts lots of larger groups, so we were happily surprised to get a space for two with no wait, even on Friday night in prime time. Valet parking was a nice touch. The food was all good although unfortunately for them, we had just had another bar's peel-eat shrimp that were tremendously good-- much better-- so that helps lead to just 4 stars. Honestly. I don't visit this beach area too often and River Deck would have me wanting to visit just to come here! We often go to Cocoa, and end up somewhere like Coconuts (just because we want to sit outside on the water), but this place is awesome! A few of us were at the beach for the day, and this is just a short drive. I had never been, but our friend suggested it, so we all went. FYI-they have required valet. I don't normally carry cash but luckily, one of our friends did so that we could tip (the valet team was friendly and quick). It was around 2:30PM on a Saturday when we went, and we didn't have any trouble getting a table outside near the bar and close to the water. Our server was prompt in getting us waters and of course some drinks! I ordered a mojito and was very happy with my choice and the prices were great too! For my entrée, I picked the Sea Harvest Fish Sandwich, which is a white fish (I was informed it was Haddock) lightly breaded and fried sandwich. I say lightly because it didn't feel super greasy and the breading was crisp, but thin. I opted to keep the french fries (and I'm SO glad I did because they were TASTY), but could have switched it for veggies or a salad, which I appreciate! One of my friends ordered the oysters and said they were amazing - I'm not a fan but it definitely seems like a thing to order here! The views and animal show is wonderful!! The first time I went there was horrible service, but the second time was great. Since the second was so good we decided to visit again with out-of-town family. Whoa, did we make the wrong choice. We were told it was a two hour wait for a table, but it was first come at the tiki bar area. I went over to that area to confirm with one of the servers that we could sit at the available table and have the same food that the other side has. We all sat down and waited. Twenty minutes went by and I asked the bartender for help. She handed me menus and said she would send a server over. We waited another twenty five minutes and no one ever came. I noticed some tables were getting served and others were also waiting for a long time. I understand being busy, but not even a hello from a server after 45 minutes of waiting at the table...come on that's ridiculous! Out of town family and I visited River Deck over Labor Day weekend. I agree that this is a beautiful place, but things were not good when we visited. I can also say good things about our service. The first alarm should have gone off when we were told that due to a backup at the bar there could be a delay in our drinks. The delay was not bad, but our beer was far from being acceptable. It was warm and had a bad taste, which I suspect was from improper storage which could be attributed to River Deck, the distributor or delivery service. I tried two beers and then switched to liquor. Warm beer and a backup at the bar on Labor Day makes me think something is very wrong here. Beer coolers and ice are easily obtained. A washtub has always worked for me. Our oysters were awful. I left a good tip and headed for JB's Fish Camp. read more

We delayed trying this new restaurant while they figured things out even though they are experienced owners it always take a month or so for any place to find their groove and dial in the kitchen and staff. It's a beautiful venue with an amazing view, we were able to get a table immediately even though the covered deck was filled to capacity. It's unfortunate the city continues to mandates unreasonable rules e.g. valet parking only, but I wouldn't expect anything less, it's difficult to argue the point when they use "safety" as the determining factor, anyway it seems it isn't a deal breaker. The service was better than I expected even with the dining area near capacity, the staff seemed to work well together and they all were smiling and very friendly and professional which always makes for a better experience for everyone. We had the Rasta Chicken Sandwich which is on the lunch menu and even though it was dinner service they accommodated our request without hesitation and we also had a burger both served with fries - the food all arrived warm even with it being cool out which tells me the servers are paying attention to what's coming out of the kitchen. Others have mentioned the food seems to be a little over-cooked and I agree I ordered my burger medium rare and it came out closer to well done but it wasn't dried out thankfully, the chicken was cooked okay but still cautiously done - I know it's chicken but it was a little over-cooked although the Rasta sauce can camouflage a lot of sins its not only on the hotter side it delicious. Over all this place exceeded our expectations and we are extremely happy they landed in NSB, we need more good restaurants like this, as locals we dread snow bird season and the influx of new residents since they fill up the restaurants but I know it's good for the businesses and there's no stopping the tremendous growth, unfortunately our small beach town is a popular destination and we deal with it well. The best part is Tuesday night trivia when it's in season. I'm not a seafood eater so the menu has limited options for me and I usually end up getting a steak that's hot or miss if they cook it the way I ask. The location though is fantastic and the boat dock is very nice. read more

If you are looking for dog friendly look somewhere else. Food is ok, but we go here because our 2 tiny dogs have been welcome and order from dog menu. Tonight a dog barked and one of ours barked back. Assistant manager freaked out and moved us to back of restaurant after speaking rudely. As we left the same dog attempted to bite mine, but that seemed to be okay with management. If you claim to be dog friendly and offer a dog menu dont be hateful to their humans. Went here for my dad's birthday. This is a great river view and it was a beautiful evening. We all got seafood and enjoyed it. For starters, we had the fish dip and the crunchy tuna. The dip is very good, with a strong fish taste and not too much smoke or mayo. The tuna is also very good if you like ahi tuna. For dinner I had the Trophy, which is a blackened mahi with a mango salsa. The mahi was good with a good mango salsa flavor. I feel like it was missing a little something to change it from good to great, but I enjoyed it. I would definitely come here again next time I'm in NSB. read more
