The RUDEST service I have ever encountered. Something was wrong with there phone and they couldn't hear me. I tried calling from another phone and they still couldn't hear me which proved to be them. I tried calling one final time and the man had the nerve to tell me "it's unacceptable for you to continue calling when I can't hear you" I replied "that's fine I won't order than" and he said "good don't" who ever owns this restaurant needs to really take some time and re think why they started this business to begin with. You make a living by customers like me who order your food. Not by being a nice guy because even that you're not. I've never had to encounter such nastiness over the phone by a MAN! Just ordered from here for the third time in a month. We are a "Friday Night" pizza kind of house and like to find a place and stick with them. This is def our new place. I hope they get some more reviews to balance the few ridiculous bad ones. Here is what you get in comparison to other local pizza joints. Thin crust pizza with great homemade sauce. Be careful because it can arrive a bit cool because it doesn't hold heat the same way as a cheesy mess does. Kids get served right away. Mom and Dad pop it in the oven for a few minutes to heat up. Still great overall. The best mussels marinara by far against any other pizza place in Bergen. I would challenge anybody to find better. Sauce is light - I like spicy. The spice is not obscene like other places. The mussels have got to be fresh. Those of you who like mussels know that "Bronx Zoo" smell of twice frozen mussels. No way you get that here. They are stellar. The salad was GREAT. We order the typical "Italian" and it is mixed greens and no gross plain iceberg or romaine. Even their regular dressing is good. If you like typical plain O&V or balsamic I would ask for it on the side but the way they serve it is fine for me. My only complaint is the garlic bread. I like mine to be able to kill vampires and theirs is on the milder side. Probably good for most other people though. Delivery has been on time and better than most on the last few Fridays with the holidays. The woman that delivers is friendly as well as the person that answers the phone. Even orders get repeated back so they are correct. We have tried every pizzeria in the Oradell area. With the exception of Roman (which doesn't deliver) this is by far equal or better. I read more

For a standard mom-and-pop pizza/Italian take out restaurant, River Edge Pizza Kitchen would be superior. Everything is fresh and flavorful. What puts this place way over the top is the dedication to serving the gluten-free community. I believe they have Celiacs in their family, so they fully understand what it means to have TRULY gluten-free food, free of cross contamination, which is so, so important. Secondly, they will try to make ANYTHING on their menu gluten-free with enough notice. It's getting a little easier to find take-out GF pizza around Bergen County, but REPK also does fabulous chicken parm heroes, gourmet pastas, rice balls, eggplant parm, soup...just about anything you can think of. Yes, the owners can be a little gruff when they get busy, (and they certainly should be careful of that if they want to keep up a customer base) but the food is wonderful and the GF options are a godsend. read more

I truly wish i could give 0 stars. Please read. I have been going to River Edge Pizza Kitchen for years for takeout because they have several gluten free options. Upon my last visit, I waited quite a while for my takeout order to be ready, no big deal, right? Except for the time I spent waiting there for my food to be ready to go the woman and her husband were screaming and cursing each other out while I was in there. The woman was screaming she wasn't going to cook certain peoples orders and their phone was ringing with no one answering it. It was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable but I didn't say anything and gladly paid and took my order once it was ready and left. When I got home I looked at the receipt and saw she added herself a 15% tip without even asking! I tried calling and even went back there within a half hour and they were closed by 7pm on a Saturday night. Today (on a Sunday) I returned to inquire about the 15% tip she added and she lied and said "oh my grandson did that, he just didn't know what button to press" and I said that's a blatant lie because you rang me up! She said well do you have any idea how busy last night was and I said still don't lie about it just apologize and make it right. As I was leaving, she told me to go f*** myself (i have the entire thing on video). This is how they treat customers and how they behave in front of customers. Absolute disgrace. I came here with my wife and two kids. The kids were being a little loud but not making a mess or anything. The owners kept giving us dirty looks the entire time. The pizza took forever to come out and the lady was saying how could we even bring kids to a place like this, as if it was some fancy French restaurant, and not the hole in the wall pizzeria it actually is. We were the only customers there and not disturbing anyone. We took the food to go and will never come back. The best genuine italian food in Jersey. That could be the extent of my review. Simply put the food this kitchen puts out is the best of its kind I've had in a long time. Reminds me of true home cooking. Their pesto sauce is PERFECTION. Mozzarella sticks? Impeccable! Alfredo sauce so light yet rich, not overpowering. Everything is just infused with the perfect balance and love. The owners/chef's are amazing and really interesting to talk to. Everything about this place is just delightful, and the ingredients are always fresh and wholesome. The pies are worthy of the highest praise, and the garlic bread is out of this world. This review is purely based on a phone call to this establishment on Saturday 7/11/2015. I simply asked to confirm what items/ingredients are put onto 2 sandwiches and the lady rudely stated something like, "I don't have time to go through our entire menu. We are very busy right now so feel free to come here to look at the menu." They must be doing very well if they talk to people like this so maybe their food is ok but there are plenty of options so they shouldn't get too comfortable. If you're vegan and you're with people who are craving pizza, it can be a little disappointing to get a cheeseless pie. But this place has an AMAZING vegan pizza made with vegan cheese! It's probably the most authentic new york style vegan pizza I've ever had. Like, it just tastes like I remember a good pizza slice tasting. SO GOOD! We came here because we heard about the gluten free options and was very excited. Our expectations were met. They have 2 options for GF pasta - fettuccine and penne. Both tasted like real pasta. We also had amazing GF garlic bread with cheese as well as GF meatballs. To top things off the owner and her husband were very nice and gave us a complimentary GF chocolate cake which was very rich and delish. My husband and I LOVE going here for pizza. Usually getting pizza for us is difficult, I'm a picky Italian and he is vegan, but this place makes AMAZING vegan pizzas and their regular ones are also some of the best. Every time I've visited this place I've had a great experience. The atmosphere is classic Italian take out. But please don't limit your palate to pizza. There is way more on the menu than that. This is not your father's pizzeria. Seafood is quite good here. Due to its hole in the wall nature you might be tempted to stick with the basics like pizza. The food here is subpar....my chicken tasted like rubber but the GF pasta & sauce were okay. Not good but not terrible, just okay. It is also FAR over priced. What REALLY turned me off was how the two women and one man working there were fighting from the moment I walked in - litereally screaming at each other and cursing. The owners have zero child tolerance! You would think a pizza place would be the perfect place to grab some quick lunch for your kid, but the owners here gave us dirty looks and we actually heard them say "...and they think they could bring them to places like this!" I had to ask them if they had a problem with us staying there and the woman just said "nope," and walked away. Our children were not even doing anything out of the ordinary besides laughing loudly and walking around their seats while the owners took forever to make a large pizza. Please bear in mind that this is a hole in the wall where everything appears sticky and gooey and we had to keep asking our kids not to touch anything. We immediately paid and walked out with our food after it was brought out to our table. We also let them know we would be sure to leave reviews. Horrible owners and a horrible experience. Our pan pizza tasted like the frozen pizza at A&P. Also, I did see the owners being very friendly to the only other family in the restaurant. I don't know why they were especially rude to us.
