The River's Edge has absolutely dropped incredibly on service, quality of food, ambience and it all begins with the check in an 18-year-old girl that doesn't know what she's doing has no experience and zero class "shame on management" this was one of our favorite places to go for special occasions we are now over it and will never recommend again. Our food was cold our server was a decent dude but we're not going back this place has really dropped in everything. Can't blame it on COVID. Poor Management. We shall tell all in our circle so they are not as disappointed as we were. Probably won't be in business in the next six months. read more

Ordered lunch to go at about 10 minutes before they opened and was assured it would be ready by 12:15. Finally got it at 12:35; no apology. There was one party seated in the restaurant. Stuffed mushrooms were raw with some bland melted cheese filling on top. Roasted beet salad was NOT roasted, they were steamed or boiled; wet and disappointing. Fish tacos were blah, with a sauce that tasted like overly sweet mayo; definitely not the Vietnamese slaw that was advertised. I sent a note to let them know it was a little disappointing and NO ONE responded. Will never go there again. Menu looks great, but it's not quite up to par. Two thumbs down for food and service, which I mistakenly tipped on for takeout. Dogs ended up with my lunch/dinner. read more

I hesitated ordering the meatloaf at a high-end steakhouse, especially when it means I wouldn't be able to eat steak. However, the meatloaf did not disappoint. Good amount of spice, no need for additional seasoning or salt, amazing flavor, and a great portion size. My friend had the NY Strip, which was cooked great and he remarked was a good cut of meat. Add this to some great scenery and you have a place I will be sure to visit next time I'm in the area. read more

We had an enjoyable light meal sitting outside on the river deck. Nice river view and quiet. Wife had a pear salad which was fresh and flavorful and was a surprising large portion. I had a cup of mushroom cream soup with a slight spicy curry flavor that was delicious and a toasty margherita flatbread that was very nice. Nice selections of wine by the glass. Because my wife was celebrating a birthday they comped us a hot fudge sundae. The prices were reasonable and the service was good, they turned on a patio heater as the evening cooled down. They had an acoustic guitar singer playing on the patio which was nice, not too loud. We will definitely return. read more

My husband and I like this restaurant so much we went two nights in a row. They had an excellent selection of food and the ambiance was perfect. The first night I ordered a moscow mule and my hubby ordered the habanero passion martini, but I stole his and made him drink mine. The 2nd night we both ordered the habanero passion martini's. Hubby had Tenderloin with Edge Vegetables these were 2 entrees so he took quite a bit home. The Tenderloin so tender! was cooked perfectly. Friend #1 had an Apple Salad Entree sized. She couldn't eat all of it, Lots of nuts, dried fruit, crunchy lettuce w an restaurant made Apple dressing. #2 friend had the special: a thick steak of marbled Prime Rib. A friend who was in town and I had dinner yesterday at River's Edge. What a treat! We arrived early before our 4:30 reservation, but were promptly seated outside on the patio overlooking the Rogue River. Patio chairs are metal variety, so not the most comfy, but the food took our mind off the slight discomfort of the chairs. We started out with $5 bottles of a nice champagne that was enough for two flutes. Enjoyed an average size but tasty appetizer of calamari with a chili sauce for dipping, followed by an awesome roasted beet salad with arugula, toasted pine nuts, goat cheese and a light vinaigrette (?) dressing. We LOVED this beautiful salad I ordered the Angel hair pasta with parmesan cheese and butter, roasted cherry tomatoes and shrimp, accompanied by a bowl of chicken and rice soup. Generous portions of both esp the shrimp in the pasta, which made me happy both were visually pleasing oh so tasty. My friend ordered the meatloaf, served with roasted fresh whole carrots and a delish sauce under the meatloaf, along with a Caesar salad. Tasty warm rolls and butter were provided, by the very friendly and competent wait staff. My friend also had a Habanero and passion fruit(?) martini, which she enjoyed. This restaurant is perfect for a special meal. We had quite a few selections and cocktails,so bill was a bit spend at $99. Lunch menu is a bit less, if you come for lunch instead of dinner. You can also be perfectly satisfied and full by having a appetizer salad, and some of the sides they are offered, like mac'n'cheese, roasted asparagus, and others nice selections. Overall we really enjoyed the entire dining experience - beautiful setting, friendly and very competent wait staff, nice variety of menu choices, and just all around thoughtfully prepared, yummy food. read more

We had a 7:45 PM reservation and sat on the dining patio along side the Rogue River at this amazing restaurant. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful and made our experience at the Rivers Edge top notch. I ordered the shrimp scampi.... it was delicious my husband opted for the macaroni and cheese ....he loved that as well. The entertainment really added to the beautiful atmosphere of this restaurant. We stopped here for a nice bite to eat while passing through Grant Pass. It has a great patio with beautiful views of the river. We had 3 dogs with us and they were super accommodating, brought over a water bowl, and made sure the pups had good shade on that particularly warm day. My Asian salad was great, full of flavor and texture. Our server was nice but a little slow getting to us and getting our check. The only reason I'm giving them 4/5 stars is because they messed up my sisters burger order (she asked for it plain and they put veggies on it which ruined the taste for her) and did not have great quality burger meat. Went here with group. Had been before a year ago and was delicious no complaints, BUT this time, we regretted it. Had got there at 6:30 and they were out of specials and no Prime rib left @ 6:30! I ordered a tossed salad that came with different veggies and meat, it was not tossed no dressing and crazy stuff on I did not see that was on the menu, sent it back. The waitress was kind and did not charge me and I got a side salad with was good and she did not charge me and gave me a dessert which was nice. I always feel bad for the wait staff because they do not control what the cooks do. My husband ordered duck and it was over cooked and the calamari was so tiny and chewy not good. The portions are small and the salads and soups are not included in the meals. It's expensive also. The food took to long also. Just disappointed for such nice scenery.The only reason I gave to 2 stars was because the waitress was so sweet, but won't be back. read more

One of the best restaurants on the west coast! This is a "Must Try" Resturant. Big, tasty cocktails, amazing food, excellent service, and located right on the Rogue River. Lots of outdoor dining and parking. Make reservations! Also included an incredible talent playing music during your dining experience. We want to purchase a CD of David's music it was so great! We decided to have an anniversary drink at the River's edge after driving 7 hours in our move north to WA. We got there at 8:25, their hours are listed on Yelp until 9pm. Wow! This place is a hidden gem. After trying another local "on the river" restaurant & being thoroughly disappointed, we ended up at Rivers Edge. Our waitress was incredibly helpful with her suggestions & recommendations. We were trying to decide on an appetizer & she brought us a sample of the clam chowder which was delicious. We ended up ordering the steamers which came in a fabulous garlic sauce to die for & bread for dipping. For dinner we ordered the seared scallops & blackened ahi (pictures included) which were divine! Time for desert & once again, undecided, our waitress brought us a berry cobbler sampler which was fresh & delightful, but we went with the tiramisu & it was excellent. Our first time here. Food and ambiance was great! Our disappointment was with the service. We had misti, the only reason I know because her name was on the bill, she never introduced herself. She was unfriendly, we felt we were bothering her with our questions. We had a birthday in our party, we mentioned a couple times, not even a happy birthday!!! She really ruined our evening because we didn't understand why she's treating us like that. Not even a smile from the beginning. The rest of the staff was wonderful and friendly. The waiters have always been hit or miss, i once had a waiter (about a year ago) that was no where to be found at all times but this busboy took care of everything for me, he was really sweet. I wish I could give more stars, it is my other favorite place to dine in Grants Pass. Doesn't get any better! The food is prepared perfectly! The filet is so tender you could use a fork to cut it! The salads and veggies are cooked to perfection! Beverages are tended with the same perfection. Come hungry and come early, closes at 8pm. We were celebrating my birthday last night so came here to celebrate. It was our first time and we really enjoyed it. We both had steaks and they were good portions, cooked perfectly and delicious! The salads and rolls we had to start with were good as well. I was a little disappointed on how long it took our waiter to bring our cocktails, but great drinks once we got them. The highlight of the evening was the musician, Scott, who played guitar and sang. We were sitting right next to him and he was very entertaining and friendly. I would only give one star but am I honestly giving two stars as the waitstaff was polite and very attentive. Sadly, I was there for the food. This was my first time and I can honestly say that was the most expensive processed meal I've ever had. The only thing fresh was my drink. The food was frozen, bland, watery and the prime rib was anything but prime. The clam chowder was from a can/bag/whatever with bacon thrown in to give the impression of it being made in house. Food was decent, especially considering I had to accommodate for some allergies. View was INCREDIBLE. But our server disappeared for 45 minutes while waiting for our food with zero updates and our drinks empty. My husband and I used to work in the restaurant industry in college and we both know how this is unacceptable. We were also there celebrating my birthday.. this is the first date we've been on in almost a year since we have a baby so it was a very special occasion. The waitress didn't even wish me a happy birthday even though it was written in our reservation, didn't tell us the specials (which we realized after we had already ordered) and overall spent very little time at our table even though the place wasn't busy at all. Places that are considered upscale in town like River's Edge is supposed to be about the experience, which includes above average, attentive service.. so the lack of left a bad taste in our mouth on what should have been a fun night. We probably would try it again one day but will be asking for a different server. read more

I wasn't sure where I was going to go for dinner tonight and came across this wonderful place and decided to give it a try. The waters edge view is amazing very inspirational. I am normally a carnivore. I love meat. But for some reason tonight I ordered the pare and beet salad which was huge and delicious. I proceeded to order their vegetarian entrée which was packed with flavor and I did not feel deprived whatsoever. I will be back for that halibut it sounds delightful.
