Incredibly awful experience = Absurd and completely unbelievable. When you agree to a price and then they add thousands of dollars to the contract without your knowledge...what is one to think other than they are ethically and morally bankrupt. (WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT ANY ADDITIONAL ITEMS ADDED OR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, ETC) Please stay away. If the way they choose to do business continues, there is a strong possibility they will not remain in business or at the very least, loose their status as an authorized franchised dealer with the credit union I have worked at for 15 years now. This dealership will sell you a vehicle and complete the purchase order by adding thousands of dollars to the invoice right underneath your nose. They will turn around and ask you why you signed the paperwork. A question for them would be how they are able to sleep at night with the incredibly dishonest way they do business. When attempting resolution, the owner told me I did not leave my phone number, however, I did leave my phone number in an email sent directly to him. I work for the largest credit union in Southern California and have been employed with them for 15 years. During my conversation with Richard Michelson, who accused me of not leaving my phone number, he eluded to the fact that I don't actually work where I do. I guess they enjoy taking a $10,000.00 down payment from an incredibly hard working 21 year old (my son) who has a 729 FICO as a first time auto buyer. We have purchased three cars from this dealership but apparently they don't wish to keep our business. APPARENTLY, WE ARE NOT THE TYPE OF CUSTOMERS THEY CARE TO ESTABLISH A LIFE LONG RELATIONSHIP WITH..I would say three cars constitutes a winning situation for them, but apparently we are just a number...just somebody who they can scam as much money from as possible. If this is not resolved, next stop = Better Business Bureau. Just got a call from Richard stating that he just read my Yelp review and did not have a reason to meet with me any longer. He mentioned he was going to "take action" against me. I'd like to also mention that I am a Veteran and served our country in the United States Marine Corps. I mentioned this during the sale of the most recent two purchases. Is this why they inflated the invoice without my knowledge? Don't come here at all for a car, they are a bunch of lying sleazy sales people, after days in communication with Sherry fordyce in the Internet sales dept. she verbally agreed multiple times I will be getting the vehicle and APR for a certain price and rate, she had me ask for berry the salesman, who might've been in it as well, when I got there they pull the ultimate bait and switch they wanted to add 2k more then what they originally had said and twice the APR rate when I have an outstanding credit score, what a joke. Berry and his crew (managers) said there was a mistake with the pricing between the sales dept and Internet sales dept. how was that my fault, that alone tells you they can't get their shit together. When I asked to speak to Sherry in person she was no where to be found (what a coincidence) but yet she introduced herself to me 45 mins prior to that when I first walked in. I wasted 2 hours here going back and fourth with these clowns, moral of the story don't come here they're a bunch of lying idiots. The score I gave you was ran by another Honda dealership that same day. For you to try to blame this whole ordeal on a mistake of mine, or something I did shows what kind of dealership you guys really are. Purchased a lease from this dealership on an hrv sport and have been regretting it ever since. Started with the traditional bait and switch claiming that there were incentives and offered none, which is normal with all honda dealers. They continually tried to insert extra charges that I had declined. Told them no on the 1,200 dollar supposedly free oil change as it grants a maximum of 4 oil changes over 36,000, they attempted to sneak that back into my contract several times. They also tried to get me to place 3,000 down to achieve a 30 dollar reduction in the payment. Some quick math showed 3 grand would yield a return of 1,080 over the 36 months lease. Then if all of that wasn't bad enough, they hounded me like a stalker to get me to return to rewrite the contract, to which I complied once. Now again they are trying the same pretending that they already hadn't done it once. Calling and calling stating its no big deal. I purchased this vehicle for my elderly mother as I didn't have time with my work schedule to fix her old vehicle. Turns out would have been a better option to fix the old car. They even had the nerve to try and sell me another car as though I would ever buy from them again. First internet department that gives out price qoute does not communicate with the actual sales department. They will give you the cheapest price online and beat other honda dealerships but when you get there, price will be way too expensive from their written price qoute because of all the add-ons like protection package etc. which they said it is illegal to put all those add-on when I called prior going to their dealership. Second, the unproffesional, uneducated sales manager that will just leave you hanging without any courtesy. I work in accounting at a finance company and was calling to speak to someone in their accounting department in regards to a payoff for a trade in that was short. I was told Christine Higgins was who I needed to speak with to get this issue resolved. I left several messages over the course of 2 weeks, no response back. Finally, after telling the receptionist she wasn't answering/ taking my calls, the receptionist got Christine to answer the call. This lady was so rude and was double checking my work and notes we have in our computer system like I was lying. I transferred her to the Supervisor in Collections because obviously my word wasn't good enough for her. After my co-worker explained the exact same thing she said she would send a check and hung up. I went in today for a usual oil change but was told that i needed to upgrade to package "B" because my car hadn't had that service done to it ever. That was okay with me (even though it cost me $200+ dollars), but i asked very specificially for a car wash and in the end did not receive one. I am a proud honda owner and have been going to Riverside Honda for maintenance for my car for quite a while. Is it really too much to ask for a car wash? I found that a bit ridiculous. Warning: If you go to this dealer with pricing from TrueCar.com or CarsDirect.com be prepared to be pressured, harassed and deceived by the sales and finance team. They do not like these deals because the pricing is significantly lower than the price you get if you just walk in to the dealer. I have purchased over 15+ new cars from different dealers and this dealer is by far the worse. Many sales and finance people can be shady in the car business but the lying and deceiving tactics used by Riverside Honda are unbelievable. We took a test drive on a new Honda Civic and noticed the car had just been delivered to the dealer. The car had not been washed or in any way touched by the dealer (no additional accessories, services, etc. had been added/performed) which entitled us to the TrueCar.com pricing. The sales person that took us on the test drive confirmed that the car had not been touched in any way by the dealer and that it had just been delivered a few hours ago. When we went inside they assigned us to a different sales person that insisted the interior of the car had already been Scotch Guarded and that a Clear Coat Protectant had been applied to the exterior of the car. He insisted that there would be an additional charge from the original price provided in writing from TrueCar.com because of this. When we explained that the car had not been touched by the dealer the sales person insisted that if we did not want the Scotch Guard / Paint Protectant we would have to pay to have it removed. On top of that they insisted in selling the extended warranty over and over which we declined. After lots of arguing, the sales person finally agreed that nothing had been done to the car and that the original price from TrueCar.com would be honored without adding the extended warranty. However, when the first round of paperwork was placed in front of us, the extended warranty had been once again added to the price of the car. After more arguing they finally removed it. Things only got worse once we went to Finance. When we met with Anthony from Finance, we noticed the price of the car had increased by $500. He explained that at the bottom of the contract they added a down payment of $500 (supposedly provided by Honda) to lower the price of the car back to the agreed upon price. Therefore the net effect was fine and it matched the TrueCar.com price. However, a few days later Anthony called with "great news" and informed us we had been approved for a lower interest rate. All we had to do is come in and sign a new contract. Nothing else was mentioned or disclosed. When we reviewed the new contract we discovered they had once again increased the price of the car by $500. When we argued about this, Anthony finally admitted that Honda had not approved our loan and that they found another bank to finance us at a lower rate. As a result they removed the $500 down payment Honda had supposedly provided. We argued and argued but since we had already taken possession of the vehicle for a week, we had no choice but to take the additional $500 charge. They had promised (we have the voicemail) that they would honor the TrueCar.com price and yet they found a way to force us to pay $500 more than the agreed upon price. We understand contracts can be complicated and dealers use many tactics to make money. However, buyer beware when doing business with this dealer and Anthony from Finance. They will try to bait and switch things on you the entire way. Make sure you read every document carefully and be prepared for a long fight if you buy from this dealer. read more

Riverside, December 3rd, 2015. To Whom It May Concern: This is my second Yelp post. The first one was deleted from public view after I gave a poor review for Toyota of San Juan Capistrano. After receiving a confirmation from Filipe, internet Manager, about a True Car.com deal, we arrived at the dealership to make a purchase. At our arrival, we were informed that Felipe wasn't in today. So we were passed on to another internet manager. Sherry was able to pull up our True Car certificate and passed it on to Manny who took us to the another lot to find our car. Once, we found our 2016 Honda Sport Sedan at the lot, Manny drove us back to the dealership to finalize the paper. Once we sat down, we asked Manny what the out of the door price would be. He informed us that it would be about 24,679 dollars including tax and license plus destination charge. We then negotiated the price. We would like to pay 23800 for the car. Manny said that he could not do it with that price. So we made another offer, we affirmed 24000 dollars. Manny went on to the Manager Booth to see if he could sell us the car with that price. He came back saying that he couldn't. After a bit of negotiating, he brought out a younger sale manager, James (We think that was his name). He said he could get us the car for 24500. We let them know that we were going to think about it. Then we got up and left the building. My other two friends went into the restroom while I was waiting for them outside. "James" went outside and started using profanities saying to his fellow salesmen that these ladies "fuck this" and "fuck that" with the price. This is the second time I heard it from a manager (Last time was from an Asian young sale manager who wore glasses, maybe the owner's son, as he screamed and cursed at his salesmen who messed up his day, in front of a customer, me, and he didn't care. I don't see him sitting in the sale manager office anymore.) We proceeded to the car and talked about the price. Finally, my friend, who agreed to purchase the car at that price-24679 dollars, told me to go back and made a purchase. We came in and let Manny know that we were ready to make the deal. We were treated with a cold reception from both the salesman and "James." They walked by us and never asked us a question because they knew that we desperately needed that car. After about 15 minutes, we approached Manny and asked him if he could help us with the purchase, he said he is busy and he would find someone else to help us. The reason that we went back to Manny because we wanted to finish the deal with him so he could get the commission. There we waited for about another 20 minutes. We received no help from anyone. My friends went to the restroom, and I went to the car. I made a phone call to Moss Honda and spoke to Mo, a salesman. He said that he could sell me a car for 24700 dollars guarantee. We left the Honda of Riverside and drove to Moss where we got our car for 24300. That is 379 dollars less than what we intended to pay. I am a customer at Riverside Honda for many years. I have purchased many cars, trucks, and vans for my friends and family members there. I take my own car in for service and I know many wonderful people there. However, this is the rudest reception that I have ever received from a dealership. The owner needs to wake up here. You are hiring a bunch of guys that are destroying your reputation. They certainly bring in the money that you want, but the character of your dealership is getting crushed. I will never bring any more customers to this dealership from now on. I will certainly let my friends know about this type of service. Words of mouth are the most effective advertisement in the world. I wouldn't give this dealership 1 star. I would give it zero star based on the experience that I have received. How horrible it is when customer service and human character are no longer respected and valued. read more

BEWARE! READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU SPEND TIME WITH THIS DEALERSHIP I contacted this dealer because I found their information on the Costco auto buying program web site. Costco should seriously reconsider continuing their affiliation with this dealership. I was looking for an Insight. They quoted me a Costco price over the phone and it seemed reasonable and they suggested I come in to have my trade in appraised. So far so good, but when I got into the dealership it was all downhill. The Costco program rep at the dealership passed me off to a front line salesperson who immediately added in $1500 worth of mandatory "options" to the price the Costco rep quoted me (she made absolutely no mention of these options over the phone). That was the first trick. Next, they low balled me on my trade in by offering me almost 40% below KBB trade in value. When I asked them to give me a price closer to KBB the sales "manager" accused me of trying to sell him a car. I walked out. After realizing that this dealership was one of the few within hundreds of miles that had the car I wanted in the right color I decided I would take their low ball offer. I called on the phone to let them know I'd be back in. When I got there they must have thought I was desperate because they offered me $1000 less than before for my trade in! I walked out and won't be back -- ever. I should also mention that the salesperson pulled out every stereotypical car salesman trick in the book while I was sitting with him: -trying to distract me from their inflated price by asking me "What does the price matter if we can get your payment down to $350 a month?" As if it made total sense to pay $30k for a car with an invoice under $22k by financing it for 6 years. That seems like some sort of usury to me. -making me wait 10 minutes at a time while the front line sales guy went to "check with his manager on something"-- he did this at least 3 times. -outright deceit -- the sales person at one point told me to wait because he had a surprise for me. I asked what and all he would say is "I want to show you something. You're going to like it". You know what the surprise was? His sales manager coming over to try to convince me of why they needed to charge thousands of dollars more than what they told me over the phone. Bottom line, I found a better Honda for thousands of dollars less (without having to haggle and play stupid games) at Norm Reeves in West Covina. The icing on the cake was that they appraised my car for thousands of dollars more (very close to KBB trade in value) than Riverside. read more

Just bought a 2013 Accord EX. I had been dealing with the online rep when agreeing to price and they honored it when I got to the dealership. Overall experience was ok, but it was a little annoying that although I made it clear to the online rep that I would be coming down to buy the car on 01/29/2013 when I got there that evening it was not ready and we had to wait 45 minutes for them to find the model we wanted. Other than that the salesman Emby was nice and they didnt hassle us too much about add ons like warranty. My wife and I went in on May 25th to test drive and possibly buy a Honda Pilot. Everything started off okay except they didn't have a white one but they found one in an auxiliary lot. As soon as it came to doing business after the test drive things went south and fast. How? 1) they low balled my trade in by at least 1,500.00, and confiscated our trade ins registration to "run it through the system" 2) the salesman had no plan and wasted time. He liked to talk but getting him focused on our lease was like trying to focus a kid with ADHD. 3) When we finally got a poor offer to lease they hijacked our car by stalling in giving back our registration. 4) But the worst was they didn't make any attempt to seriously negotiate this transaction until we were pissed and just over it and then tried to sell us an EX model when we had already picked out the car we wanted. I had such a wonderful experience with Riverside Honda on November 15, 2013. We came to look but got such a wonderful deal and experiences with the whole Riverside Honda's staff. From Chris, Ramiro and Julio. We bought Honda Pilot that night and came back the next day and bought a Hybrid Civic. Totally a wonderful place with very polite and talented team. We had to come back to put our DVD player and special wheels with the HONDA PILOT so it would make it more fun for daddy and kids. :-) Spoiled rotten kids like daddy. WOW, the Service Dept was just an amazing with their customer service team. Scott Brady was very accommodating to my needs of a rental car and how quick I had to go back to my work. I love this place and recommending all my referrals to Riverside Honda. BTW, I am a girl that buys only made in the USA products so this was a huge risk but fantastic experiences with my purchases. Recently purchased a brand new Honda Accord from Riverside Honda. My salesperson was Rosendo and he treated me and my husband like family. He answered any and all of my tedious questions about the car, and finance questions in full detail. I can be overwhelming with questions, as I like to do research before any big purchase. DO NOT BY A CAR FROM THESE TRICKSTERS!!!!! I came in on the weekend to look at a 2012 white Accord EX-L...The car was for my wife, and I wanted it to be a surprise...I planned on putting $20,000 down with the remaining @$10,000 financed....My credit score was well into the 800's so I knew I would qualify for Honda's .99% financing......I had my checkbook in hand and was ready to go....First of all, they shuffled me through six different salesmen....They tried to sell me every car EXCEPT a 2012 white accord EX-L.....We drove around all their lots and learned that they didn't have that car there....Of course, their HIGH PRESSURE sales tactics caused them to try and get me signed right away....We made a deal for $20,000 down and $175/mo for 60 months (.99%) including a military discount......We shook hands on that deal and they said they would get the car from another dealer within 45 minutes....Luckily, the thrid salesman hand wrote notes of the above terms.....Of course, the sixth salesman brings me a sales agreement for $280/mo.....After he unsuccesfully tried to convince me why we should change the deal, I began to walk out --- of course, with two of the salesmen begging me to stay and negotiate with them (even after I told them I would not haggle).....Again, they ask "what would it take for us to have a deal?" I told them to honor the original terms --- $20,000 down and $175/mo for 60 months.....After several minutes, the sixth salesman came out and said "we have a deal." They rushed me into a room to start signing papers, but I told them I'd like to see the car first --- they said that I would need to finish the paperwork and I would be able to "examine" the car before I took possession of it (that was nice of them ;-( ).....As the signing person asked for my $20,000 check, I saw the edge of her computer screen....It showed that they moved my financing up to 72 months without telling me.....They also moved me to 2.99% financing from .99% without telling me......I don't know what else to call this other than straight "fraud." However, I did enjoy being called "unreasonable" by the salsemen as I left the lot --- one of the salesmen practically grabbed onto my car as I left....Then the phone calls started by the time I got home.... My wife HATES this Honda dealer and has always done business with Penske....I thought I would give Riverside Honda a chance since I live and work in the City of Riverside.....Well, Honey!!!! Be careful with this dealership! You might not get anywhere but just waste your time here. internet department use competitive pricing to drag people in and then throw them at the floor sales and sales manager to be tricked around. Sales person tells you lies like he is telling all the truth. I was told I could not qualify for Honda Financing's 1.9% car loan if I am getting their promotional price. That is a lie. I got a great deal at another dealership at the same promotion price the very second day and qualified for Honda Financing's 1.9% APR 5-yr car loan for a 2014 Honda car. read more

Yesterday afternoon I had planned to purchase a new car. I called Riverside Honda and spoke to the sales manager named James. He confirmed they had the vehicle I was looking for. Once I arrived, the sales man was waiting and told me we would have to drive to their storage lot and locate my vehicle of choice. After an hour of checking inventory numbers and driving back and fourth from storage lot to dealer; the car was not in inventory. James the sales manager had provided false information, wasted my time and ensured my decision to do business with another dealer. read more

Went in on Friday to look at cars didn't see anything that caught our eye and told them we where leaving so the floor manager came out to talk to us and took us to the showroom floor and found a car we liked. It was close to closing time so the floor manager said he would call mr around 10 the next day well at 2 I finally called and he was to busy to talk and now it is Monday and still no call so we are going else where to buy a car.
