My experience with this dealership and VW in general is sub par. Well, they are not the worst, I will not go back unless absolutely necessary, will not buy another car from them, and will not recommend them to anyone. Here is the list: 1) I was told that I could put a bike rack on this vehicle but when I did, the car slams on the brakes unless the bike rack is tilted down with no bikes on it. No one warned me of this and when I called the dealership to talk about it they said there is no fix. The software for a higher model includes a workaround for that, but my model doesn't. Volkswagen created a dangerous situation because the brakes slam so hard it nearly gives you whiplash, and now I have to shut off my rear cameras in order to back up when I'm taking my bike around. 2) I asked when I bought the vehicle if it used a heat pump for the heater and was told that it does. It does not. The hands-free screen feature is really only a minor "wake up "for the screen and not something you can just wave your hands in front of and use like they tried to say. 3) When making an appointment online for my EV, there is nothing that said that I had to schedule for a certain time of day. I made my appointment and got a call the day of to say that my vehicle would have to stay there and wouldn't be diagnosed till the next day unless I rescheduled for a specific time. Not OK. 4) They will give you a Lyft, but there are no loaner cars. Rentals are first come first served and not available while you're waiting for a diagnosis. My diagnosis and response from Volkswagen took until the next day. Not sure what someone is supposed to do if they don't have any other vehicle and don't hear anything until the next day. My service advisor said there was nothing he could do and he could not reserve a car for me because they are first come first served. Seems to me like I was there "first" since my vehicle was in their shop. So I'm supposed to sit there at the dealership all day long and wait for somebody to turn a car in? Makes absolutely no sense. 5) The vehicle constantly logs me out. It doesn't affect driving except that if you are logged out the automatic SOS response will not connect. I am paying for a feature that does not work. The first time, I contacted Volkswagen directly and was told that the people who work on this will take 7-10 days to fix it and will not contact me when it's done. Poor form, VW. The second time, I brought it to the dealership along with another complaint. The dealership couldn't fix it and had to wait until the next day to even get a word back from VW. Replacing a part will supposedly fix the issue. 6) The vehicle charging changed for me. The cable locks into the charging port, and I used to be able to get into the driver seat, press the menu to stop charging and it would release the cable. Now I have to use my vehicle remote to unlock all the doors to unlock the cable from the port. My service advisor tried to gaslight me into believing that this is a safety feature. Are you really trying to tell me that unlocking every door in the vehicle is a safety feature? Some of the charging stations are in sketchy locations, so unlocking all doors at night in the dark in those places when the business is closed is "safe"? Do better. 7) I was told that I would be contacted when the part came in. It's been over a week, and I haven't heard a word. I did, however, receive an email that I had an appointment without anyone consulting me to see if I could actually make that appointment date and time. When I called the dealership, they said they had to have an appointment scheduled in order to be able to order the part. Makes no sense. Now I'm receiving emails saying that I missed an appointment. How is this place even in business? How are you going to schedule an appointment for me without knowing whether or not I can make it? So here I am, still waiting to hear from the dealership about a part with my car still logged out. The vehicle itself is the only thing preventing this from being one star. read more

Purchased a vehicle here at Volkswagen Riverside based on there value and price. The vehicle was a Dodge not a VW and I also purchased the extended comprehensive warranty. I was specifically told at purchased that I could take my Dodge to any Dodge dealership for any warranty work since it wasn't a VW. Sure enough I took my Dodge to Dodge dealership and the warranty is not being honored. VW is saying that I was supposed to bring the vehicle to them first even though it's a Dodge and they would then send it to the Dodge dealership. Does that makes any sense? So Sean from Volkswagen would not release and authorize the coverage instead he requested an insurance inspector to go to Dodge to verify the repairs, one reason being my warranty so close to being expired. I saw this dealer's reviews and was prepared for a great experience. NOPE. From the start, I knew something was off. I inquired about pricing listed on Google and the dealer's site; the staff quoted a much higher figure, stating they did not recognize the online price but would check with management. They came back with a significantly higher price (not listed anywhere to the public and well over KBB or Edmunds values) and mentioned over $1900 add-ons to consider, too. They mentioned paying too much for the trade-in and needing to make up the expense. They also gave me the option of accepting the much higher price (again, made up once I inquired) if I wanted a discount on the add-ons. When I asked them how they could lure potential customers in with deceitful pricing (intentionally listing prices they don't plan on approving), they sent me their pricing disclaimer, which reveals their right to change pricing whenever they want. The craziest part about car dealer experiences like this? The seemingly kind staff is totally cool with screwing people out of their hard-earned money. I know I have the right to move on and work with the many local VW dealers not playing traditional pricing and add-on games; however, changing the pricing on a customer once they're in the door feels wrong. Management, when staff says, "I understand why you're upset with the pricing, but there's nothing I can do," maybe it's time for change. End rant. read more

I was all set to buy a 2019 Atlas from my local dealer here in Westlake, but we got stuck on trade value for my 2016 GMC Yukon. In doing my due diligence, I filled out a trade value request from KBB, who happened to forward my info to Riverside VW. I was contacted right away by Raymond Block who took some information about my vehicle and quickly got back to me with a trade value that was thousands higher than my local dealer and right in line with KBB's estimate(no idea why my local dealer was so low, they were way below KBB value too). I wasn't really intending to buy a car from a dealer that was 80 miles away, but I also didn't want to overpay at my local dealer. Raymond was able to find the exact car I was looking for, and beat my local dealers price! We did the whole deal via text and phone, completely hassle and drama free. Once we agreed on the numbers, I told him I'd be out in a couple days to pickup the vehicle. I'm going to be honest, I kept expecting that someone was going to try and change the deal last minute, or something would happen when we finally got to the financing...you know all those bad stories you hear about car buying experiences. But guess what? NONE OF THAT HAPPENED. I was in and out of financing in 30 minutes. No one tried to pressure me in to any additional products or services. They were super friendly, very helpful and they were able to diagnose my problem from the first visit as opposed to my 5 wasted visits at VW Riverside. If you want a place with excellent customer service and people who know what they're doing , I recommend you stay away from VW Riverside and go to VW Ontario. My issue turned out to be my front bushings were bad but VW Riverside just blamed my brakes, my tires, the road, the weather....... everything except the actual problem. read more

Andy, the sales rep was cool. However, his manager, Jon, was creepy and lowkey rude. Dismissed us almost immediately after showing one offer that didn't line up with the value. You'd think they want to sell cars, but he came out of nowhere, took over the conversation from Andy, and then made us feel hella awkward.
