AMAZING! The service, the food, the atmosphere and the overall experience was amazing. I was here for lunch with my dad in early March. Needless to say early March in Yorktown isn't very busy so the Riverwalk wasn't busy. They were doing renovations to the bar when we visited but it was not an issue. Our waitress was phenominal! She was personable and suggested a few options for me (vegetarian) and when my dad asked about her opinion on two dishes she was honest and suggested the Waterman's Pot Pie. Let me just tell you, my dad loves pot pie and he raved about this for.... well he is still raving about it! Went out for dinner tonight with friends. Two of us decided to have the pork on pork which I had back in the fall and it was so good. It's pulled pork with a small square of pork belly. The pork belly is pan seared to a nice crisp and melts in your mouth. It's like bacon times ten. That's what it was like in the fall. Last night what we got was overcooked and dry. instead of pork belly like we had lost time they used panchetta. Very thin sliced and tough and tastes like a bad piece of bacon. My friends plate didn't even have the panchetta. It was also topped with some nasty red paste. Not sure what it was. I explained how I came there specifically to have that great crispy pork belly. And that panchetta is not the same. Menu says pork belly. So after some confusion the Manager takes it back and gets new plates made up. With the same panchetta that I didn't like the first time. And no red sauce. I never even mentioned the sauce the first time. So I don't know why I got the same thing when I said I wanted pork belly the first time like it's supposed to have. Both of us were really let down. The other two dishes my wife and cousin had were okay but nothing special. With the high prices of the dishes there I expect more. I left unhappy and wanting. I doubt I'll come back. It seems to have gone downhill. And that is a shame. read more

We have been here many times but the most recent will be our last. Three of us (2 adults one child) arrived ahead of our reservation time and they had some delay seating us after our time (no big deal). When someone finally came around to take our order for drinks she prefaced it that she would not be our server. She brought back our drinks a long time later and then told us she would be our server. When my 4 year old took a sip of his milk he said something was wrong with it. I took a sip and it was horribly spoiled - GROSS! Based on the suggestion of the waitress my husband ordered the wild boar special. It came and was also GROSS. Raw in the middle (can you say trichinosis?). My salmon was mediocre, dry and overcooked but at least safe to eat. The best thing on the table were the French fries on our child's plate. Wish we had all just ordered those! We were unfortunately stuck at the restaurant for 3 hours! Why did it take three people that long to put in an order, receive the order, then barely eat the gross results? Not sure! We only asked to get a new drink in place of the spoiled milk, the rest we just left uneaten. They obviously have staffing issues and quality assurance issues. Won't be going back! read more

What a disappointment. We came here for mother's day buffet and have been doing this for the last 3 years. There was a considerable decline in the quality of food served and they chose quantity over quality. The dessert menu was skimpy as well and maybe the chef did not know what a blueberry cobbler was because we got a blueberry cake with a dollop of ice cream. Another over hyped operation whose reputation lives and grows by these who are satisfied by the humdrum. On 20 February 2016 we had family we had not seen in ten (10) years and likely never will again so we went to Riverwalk. We were seated right away and the staff was pleasurable and helpful. We ordered "She-Crab" soup, Lobster Bisque and Char-Grilled Oysters to start. The soup was cold with too much Sherry and too little cream and crab. The oysters were full of grit, sand and broken shell. (The excuse was there was new help and they had never heard of allowing bivalves to sit over night in clear water allowing them to blow off the silt); the bisque tasted as if it was a purchased off the shelf item from a local grocery and was not touched. We ordered the prime rib; Scallops with Ginger Root Vegetables, with a Sweet Red Pepper Curry sauce; Baked Pasta and fried flounder for dinner the scallops were undercooked and rubbery with the curry so strong it was separated from the meal. Again the pasta looked and tasted as if it were a purchased item no taste, dry! The fried fish was eatable. The one exception was the prime rib excellent, cooked to perfection, tasty. Some may feel they had a dinning experience if the dishes are not cracked but I feel at two hundred and thirty dollars we deserved better than the excellent service and atmosphere. Yes, I was in the process of escalating the complaints when members of the party asked us not to make a scene and just leave the food. The service was incredibly slow and the waitress never even acknowledged the slowness or how long we'd waited. We arrived at lunch. We were immediately taken to a table without being asked if we wanted to sit outside as there was a large patio overlooking the water, that would have been nice. There were only four other tables in the dining room being served and a few outside. Service was slow. We wanted to grab a quick bite and visit Yorktown. The restaurant was almost too upscale looking and did not seem to fit into the area. Pricing was relatively high, $15.00 for a club sandwich and fries. The fish and chips were good, club sandwich was difficult to eat but tasted good, the burger was fine/standard and the fish tacos with mahi mahi were fair due to an addition of olives? While I have enjoyed the dinners we partook at Riverwalk in the past, my husband took me there for Mother's Day for their very expensive buffet. The food lacked in quality and we were placed at a table between two doors leading to the outside. It was a chilly day and every time the doors were opened (frequently) the cold air came in causing us to be quite cold! The shrimp was mushy and the raw oysters were so small it was not worth picking them to eat. The star of this show was the carved prime rib, hence the 2 stars. My family and I stopped in here for HH on a Saturday night. The bar was pretty full but we found some seats in the corner. (HH is from 4-7) They have specials on well liquor, draft beers and a few wines. We also ordered some crab dip which was pretty tasty. When they came out her's was fine but mine had a plateful of cheesy noodles, rotini I think, definitely a step down from stuffed pasta. Informed that the chef was out of them and sent that out. Asked if there were any other alternatives or pricing adjustments for a poor substitution and having been not informed by the kitchen beforehand. Food deserves 4 stars, however for the price, only three tops. And with the lack of service, the overall score I'm leaving is 2 of 5. We were in a group of 6. It took over an hour to get our lunch orders prepared from the time we were seated, even while 4 of us just had salad and it was 3 o'clock with just one other table seated in the restaurant. Our server was very respectful and formal/kind, but he wasn't attentive nor was he timely. The food was good, but it wasn't anything to rave home about.
