So it must have been 2020 for the poor customer service here because we went in Monday and could not have been treated better. It was my Mom's birthday and she chose Rivets for her birthday lunch. WOW!! Just when I thought the food couldn't get any worse,here ya go. Let's start with the appetizers. I ordered some wings and a plate that was supposed to have sort of a triple play on seafood, calamari strips,coconut shrimp,and deep fried cod pieces. Every thing on this plate looked and tasted like a bunch of crap you'd buy frozen and deep fry which I'd be fine with if you weren't going to charge me as if it were all fresh! Even the wings tasted previously frozen. Now let's talk about what was supposed to be a gourmet burger NOPE! It was cooked medium rare which was pretty nasty. It had no flavor what so ever. And the fries tasted as if they were cooked before, then put back in the freezer, then cooked again. I'm talking straight cardboard. I really feel bad for this establishment simply because my daughter told me they used to be a very good place to eat. NOT ANYMORE!! My daughter had a chicken sandwich and the chicken breast or whatever that was, was hard and rubbery. I will not be returning and my advice to you is try it at your own risk. The people who work the front save this place. Why? I ordered from them for a curbside pick up. I arrived 4minutes early and picked it up at 6pm. When I arrived home? The order - onion rings - was ICE cold. I do not mean 'warm' because I am 15 minutes away - I mean ICE COLD. I called and told the young lady who offered to replace the meal; however, I declined because it meant getting bundled up and driving down there again and, frankly, I just did not want to do it. I told her to let the kitchen staff know so they could step it up before some NYE drunk flips out on them in person. So...moral of the story? Unpack and check before you leave. Have been here a few times, food is expensive but usually pretty good. Stopped by yesterday around 4:00 p.m. for dinner, there were only seven others in the restaurant. I was greeted by (Ashley?) and told we could sit where ever we would like. She brought us menus and drinks and then said she would return to take our order. Over the next 15 minutes, she waited on the other guests and walked into the kitchen and bar area a few times without once looking at us or even coming back to take our order. I would understand if the restaurant was more crowed and she was the only one working, but we should have been treated with a little more courtesy as a guest. Another guest arrived and she immediately seated him as he walked in, so I cut my losses at that time and promptly left the establishment. Rivets USED to be an excellent place for the family or as a date night restaurant. Though our waitress was great, our last visit was a total let down. Our food was not up to the same high standards as it has always been in visits past, (doesn't the Drunken Turkey come with an au jus and not an onion aioli??). Now on to the restroom, (I can only speak for the womens' restroom) it was really gross! It looked to have not been properly cleaned in a long while. Dust on the back of toilets, drink "rings" on top of the toilet paper dispenser, (GROSS! Who brings their drink to the TOILET?) and also the door lock was dysfunctional. The topper to this visit, WHICH WILL BE OUR LAST because of this, was what we witnessed nearing the end of our meal. A woman scantilly clad, (shorts barely covering her backside, a bandeau bikini top, and a "shawl/cardigan/wrap thing" that wasn't really doing any 'covering') came in and went straight to the bar. She made herself a couple of shots and downed them. Not the ideal behavior to witness but I figured she must be an owner of the place and assumed this was tolerated as no other employees seemed to be hindered by this activity. I really wouldn't be AS repulsed by this had it not been for the fact that she had two young girls in tow. These children were probably close to ages four and six, as they looked close in age to my own kids. This was beyond okay in my opinion. I cannot patronize or be a supporter of a business that ALLOWS or ACCEPTS this behavior. I hope that this review is diligently noted and actions are taken to correct the issues. A bad meal? Sometimes happens. Tolerable. A dirty restroom on a holiday weekend? Also tolerable. A person barely dressed and throwing back shots while toting around young kids as acceptable? I really like this place. I've always been really happy with the food and friendly service. Regarding food, my favorite is the Peanut Butter and Jealousy burger - I lived on it during my last pregnancy and still order it a lot today. I also recommend the garlic fries, the lobster Mac and cheese (no peas - who thought that was a good idea?) and the clam chowder on Friday. Regarding the service, we typically sit at a booth in view of the TV to catch whatever sports game is on, and we are usually taken care of by AJ, one of the bartenders, or a thin lady with long blonde hair who's name is escaping me - both very friendly and helpful. A lot of the other reviews mention that this restaurant is pricey, I personally think the entree pricing is about on par with other similar establishments and the portions are bigger than average. The beer is also pretty standard pricing in my opinion. I do think the appetizers are overpriced, though we don't order appetizers as we can seldom even finish our entrees. I love that it's a great place to have a pint yet I also can bring the kids. I like the location, Rivets is one of the few places to enjoy a decent beer selection that isn't downtown. Really the only reason for 4 stars though is the beer selection being so heavy on the IPA - I would love to see more variety. Overall I would recommend! read more

I'm glad this restaurant is able to operate during covid-19. We feel safe eating indoors here, the partitions are nicely made, all the employees wearing face masks and you can noticeably watch them using hand sanitizer at different stations. We haven't experienced bad food here ever. Very generous with their portions. Love their homemade salad dressings. The fish and chips are my favorite ( a little greasy) but good. One time I was craving fish tacos which are NOT on the menu and the waitress said she would have rhe kitchen staff make them for me anyway. Wow they were amazing!! The soups here are homemade and tasty. My husband is a HUGE soup connoisseur eater and loves their Clam Chowder and their Italian Wedding soup. Yummy. We will continue eating here! Rivets is the place to be! Everything from the food to the drink is great! The food has a lot of flavor, I especially enjoy the rivets burger (which has an over-easy egg on top ). Also, as I have mentioned before, I am a self-proclaimed French fry and ranch connoisseur, and Rivets gets a five star rating on that front!! The fries are nice and crispy and the ranch is subliiiime (I seriously have a ranch fetish and theirs is one of the best)!! Another of my favorites is the guilty fries (as the name suggests, they are quite the indulgence!)--fries topped with nacho cheese, shredded bbq beef, bacon bits, chives, sour cream, etc. YOU MUST TRY! They are to diiiiieeee for! I thoroughly enjoy the live music, they have someone different performing on a regular basis. In addition, Rivets has a few games you can play. Great food and super friendly staff. We stopped in at dinner time (5:15pm) on a Thursday. We were sat, waited on and ate all within the hour. Our waitress was very accommodating. Great service all the way around! I had a friend that came in from out of town and there were some accommodations I wanted to make sure that Rivets can do. We have been going here for years. The food is good but the pricing has always been too high. So now that we are in this recession they have made an excuse to raise the prices even higher. Three short rib tacos were 18.99 a year ago 3!!!!! Now they are 21.99. We have a gift card and so we have to use it. Will be our last visit. The positives is the servers are all very friendly. From the moment we walked in everyone is so friendly. The negative was my steak sandwich was mostly fat. It was apparent the minute the runner brought the food out. I tried to make the most of it and began trying to cut the fat off myself. I had to request a steak knife in order to do so. I got most of it off the first half but that left the bread to meat ratio way off. The second half the fat was difficult to cut off so I ended up not even eating it. read more

I am not one to review a business unless it completely amazes me or disappoints me. In this case, I was highly disappointed in the service provided at Rivets. I have been here several times and food is always great. Actually the service has been great the previous times I have made a visit. My friends and I have been wanting to get together for the longest time. Yesterday was the date when we could all meet. To begin the visit, the restaurant had maybe two other groups and 3-4 people at the bar. So in my mind, the service should be stellar. Our waitress was good. I believe her name was Hailey. Two of us got there first. Then after a bit, another two friends came. It took us a bit to place our order due to our excitement of talking. We placed our order, and I was surprised at how fast our meals came. Food was great. It would've been nice to be notified of any deals going on for the day. Especially for drinks. My drink, which was good, was way overpriced. It was $13 for a small sized cocktail. Hailey then asks if we needed boxes for leftovers. She pretty much rushed us with everything. We were still working on our meal, but we still got them. She then comes over and states she is clocking out, and asked if she should transfer us to another waitress or if we wanted to pay now. We decided to pay. She thanked us. I'm guessing this was for her tip. So we have our other friend, last one we were waiting for, join us and she asked for water. We are there a while talking, place is still somewhat empty and not one staff member came to check on us. Dirty plates still at our table. Needing more water, we flag a waitress(Smash?), for some. She seemed annoyed with that simple request. So I watch her go to the bar, get a pitcher with water and ice. She comes over and placed it on the table. We looked at each other and were surprised that she did that. Not that we couldn't serve ourselves, but that is her job. We would understand if the place was overwhelmingly busy, but it was not. In observing other staff, there seemed to be a uniformity in personality. Not that they have to be overly happy. But when people go out to eat, we want to have a pleasant experience. We felt that we were annoying the staff members with our requests and presence. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. My friends and I will think twice about getting together here again. read more
